I've been getting asked a couple times how to get into Digimon, so I figured I collect some posts and info in a master post!

Digimon is a multi media franchise, so there really is no one way to get into Digimon. But I hope this post can help people getting an idea what to look for.

As I mentioned, Digimon is a multi media franchise, and there is some content of just general Digimon lore on Digimon Web. There some fun facts to read up upon! There's also the official Digimon Reference Book / Encyclopedia online.

So Digimon, or Digital Monsters, originally started as a virtual pet toy. I made a Post about this origin and relation to the Tamagotchi frachise before. ▞▟ Check it out here >>

Besides that, Digimon released many many "Digivice" toys tying into the animes, but also figurines and much more. I don't have nearly enough expertise to cover them in more details, but there is a LOT! You can check out the LCD Toy history on the official website, and even that doesn't cover all of it!

▙▚ ANIME

The first and second season of the anime, and the surrounding movies, share a continuity, but aside from that all seasons are self contained and you can watch whichever you want.

I know some people like the english dub, but personally, I honestly don't like it at all... I do really like the german dub, but I really recommend watching the Japanese version. It's my favorite and is considered canon.

Like the anime, Digimon games are almost all completely self contained. Essentially the only exception is a couple WonderSwan games centered around Ryo Akiyama. They're also almost all widely different! No Digimon game is truly like another! Digimon has several comic or manga adaptations, some longer but many short promotional works for new releases.

Although there's way more older Manga, I will start with a list of modern Comics/Manga, as we have received a variety recently!

The big one right now is Digimon Liberator! I've been loving it personally. It's a full color web comic, so it has not normal page layout and instead is just scrolling. ▙▚ NOVELS

There two big web Novels of note for the Digimon franchise. Firs one is Digimon Seekers, which ran from 2023-2024 and consistes of 4 Chapters plus an Epilogue. You can read it on the official Website, but many fans noted the english translation being not great at certain points, so some dedicated fans edited the translation to fix the issues.

The second is Digimon Liberator, which is not simply a novel version of the web comic, but instead tells the story from the perspective of a different protagonist! From what I can tell, the translation for this one is better, although they sometimes mess up the card effects, so make sure to read the actual cards, which are included as pictures.

▙▚ CARDS

Finally, what this blog is all about really, the Card Game. There have been many Digimon Card Games over the years, but I'm really only familiar with the current one. If you want to try learning it, there is a tutorial app in the Play Store, and a Rules video on the official YouTube channel that covers the essentials. There are also Fan made simulators to play online, with dedicated fan bases that you will surely find people to play with or show you the ropes!

If you just like the look of some of the cards, I encourage you to check the pricing on cards you got your eyes on. If the card isn't insanely diffcult to get and important for meta decks, you have fairly good chances to get some gorgeous cards for reasonable prices! I also collect Pokémon Cards, and let me tell you, the production quality of the Digimon Cards is leagues above.

honestly, and i am sure this comes as no surprise to anyone but i have been in denial about it for a while: i think this job was not good for me. the work itself was very satisfying, and while i had a consistent schedule my productivity was at an all time high. however, that consistency did not last long as the company fell apart -- i've been fighting through random work days and hours for months, and my self-confidence has been at an all time low because i have felt constantly judged and looked down upon by coworkers. i have been sleep deprived and antisocial, and all around burnt out with no time for creativity. i'm not glad that the company is going out of business, but i am glad that i won't have to work there anymore, soon.

SO i made these humble edits of ios skin twoish years ago and figured i should give them a bit of a face lift by giving it the same treatment wisteria got: supernaturals to go with it, an edited lip texture, an eye set to go with it(2) and the tongue actually shows up now like intended!

og description: its basically those darn skins by io with some collarbones i snatched from obscurus-sims, lilith’s buttercup nosemask, sms sugar cravings eyes, jammed some mouseyblue waterline recolor by digi on there because the less tab 4 time the better, these goppolsme lips and the teeth are taken from sixfootsims’ moonfruit skin. is that it? i think so. groundbreaking, i just shouldve called it an edit but i could not not use the opportunity for this ridiculous name. 🌝

i kept the shade range down to the essentials this time around, adding an extra light and extra dark shade to the defaults. 1 & 4 are io’s original colors, the rest is a variety of different trapping actions stacked onto one another.

NOTE: the zombie and vampire default come with an overlay mod! and the werewolf skins are correlated! please check out the hyperlinked instructions given by the respective creator ‼ also, these use the same packages as the original release of the skin, make sure to remove them first!

Re- your question about trans-species.

I obviously can't make a lot of physical changes as I would like to, and I think people get hung up on "surgery" when there isn't much that can currently be done. for me, being trans-species is more about making paradigm changes and pursuing certain life paths/not hiding aspects of non humanity. I'm an alien and basically I'd say my "transition" was about recognizing that aspects of my life are so terribly distressing to me because I'm just not human and then making a choice to change those things to suit being an alien. It felt like getting more serious about actually accommodating being non human.

An example- I don't have a normal circadian rhythm anymore, I hacked it over time by not forcing myself to stay in bed when I inevitably wake at 3 am. I support this with naps when I need them but my kin dysphoria lessened when I saw aspects of human living as societally constructed. It's controversial, which is why I'm on anon, but trans-species can mean a lot of things, but it for me is about making the choice to allow aspects of your kin self to be more physical or be more visible. be that body mods or some other kind of bio hacking.

Some of this, yes, is not good for the body. Like toe-walking for the feeling of digi legs for example. I make sure to stretch after spending time doing something like that. It's all a risk assessment kind of thing.

It's just people think it's about physical ears and tails but it can be about lots of aspects of one's lifestyle.

this year was a..weird year, i think july was around the point i started burning out quite hard (not solely on art, more like..life in general? even basic things like opening social media was hard) i'm still there, but i really hope i'm at or reaching the peak so it'll go down 😫 i'm actually mildly surprised i manage to fill out the chart..

i guess as part of the burnout? i felt like i struggled to work on anything that was like a..long-term indefinite project. my personal projects (pocket of summer, and my kueh drawing project) both came to kinda standstill, it's hard to describe but there was some...dread(??) to working on something so hard to see the end of when i already struggle with small measurable tasks. not to mention my fanmade digi blog which i'm still in decision paralysis of how to tackle the style going forward 😂 ofc in my current state it's hard to promise anything since well, i want to get back to feeling normal irl first! but i def want to get back into them;;

when her grief from losing michael makes her not only accept jonas as a sibling right away, but also makes her follow in michael's footsteps by taking jonas out somewhere just to bond and have fun but accidentally loses her life instead ��✌
