I am sick. I feel like I am not being listened to or heard. I keep explaining everything including how I feel but its like it does not matter. I went to multiple different doctors for diagnoses but its like what is the point of it? I feel like they are not listening nor are trying to help me. They keep pushing medications after medications and it is not helping only making it worst. I have chronic pancreatitis that flares up occasionally and I have fatty liver disease.
The hospital would not do anything for my pancreas. They gave me IV and nausea medications and sent me home. I have been taking Physicians Choice Digestive enzymes and OX bile and it seems to be helping break down the foods that my body cannot due to a missing gallbladder that I had to get out. It also
is not causing pain as bad in my pancreas and I am less bloated than I was.
My liver and pancreas took over and was doing all the work and no one told me that it was going to be harder for the body. No one explained anything to me and it took me until now since I have a medical knowledge and went to college for parts of it that it is going to cause this.
I spent 3 years suffering with pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and I am still suffering with the pain trying to get it diagnosed but its like everywhere I go, no one is listening and is only making assumptions and playing a guessing game so I decided to self treat.

wait, are the health claims from bone broth bogus? (genuine/good faith question). i’ve always heard that it’s high in collagen, which supposedly is good for you and better if you get it ‘naturally’ like from bone broth. is that another thing that’s not actually true, or wildly exaggerated?
Bone broth has been eaten for centuries in various cultures because it is easy to digest and believed to have healing properties. Chicken broth is highly valued by some as a remedy for the flu. In more recent years it has been promoted to help symptoms from psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders including autism and attention-deficit hyperactivity. [7] Claims that it detoxifies the liver, improves digestion, reverses wrinkles, builds bones, and relieves join pain have led some marketing analysts to predict that the bone broth market will approach $3 billion by 2024. [8] In reality, bone broth contains only small amounts of minerals naturally found in bone including calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, phosphorus, sodium, and copper. The amount of protein, obtained from the gelatin, varies from 5-10 grams per cup. There is some concern that bone broth contains toxic metals like lead. One small study found that bone broth made from chicken bones contained three times the lead as chicken broth made with the meat only. [7] However the amount of lead in the bone broth per serving was still less than half the amount permitted by the Environmental Protection Agency in drinking water. A different study found that bone broth, both homemade and commercially produced, contained low levels (<5% RDA) of calcium and magnesium as well as heavy metals like lead and cadmium. [9] The study noted that various factors can affect the amount of protein and minerals extracted in bone broth: the amount of acidity, cooking time, cooking temperature, and type of animal bone used. Therefore it is likely that the nutritional value of bone broths will vary widely.
(Source: https://nutritionsource.hsph.harvard.edu/collagen/)
Your body makes collagen; eating collagen will put the things that make collagen into your body to make collagen with, but so will eating things that go into making collagen (amino acids, basically).
There's not good evidence that eating a ton of collagen or supplementing collagen improves your body's collagen production, and studies on collagen supplementation tend to be done by companies that make collagen supplements or produce expensive bone broth.
Basically if you're eating the 9 essential amino acids by consuming complete proteins (which can be done on any kind of diet, vegan or vegetarian or including meat - this is NOT one of those things your body relies on animal products to produce) your body is going to make collagen and it's going to have the amino acids handy to make collagen; consuming more collagen may mean that your body has more of those collagen-forming amino acids on hand, but it doesn't mean that your body is going to be any more efficient at producing collagen (and your body is going to become less efficient at producing collagen as you age).
But yeah bone broth health claims are primarily bogus. If you want more collagen in your diet for whatever reason, it's probably about as effective to eat jello as it is to eat bone broth but also more collagen in your diet likely isn't doing anything special.

My dear lgbt+ kids,
An underrated health and wellbeing tool is play.
When you think about playing, you may immediately picture little children - but by definition, play describes “any activity engaged in purely for enjoyment and recreation with no definite practical purpose” and those activities stay important throughout your whole life.
Why are those activities important?
Play is good for your body. Intentionally doing something just for fun helps to activate the “rest and digest” mode that is necessary to recover and heal from stress. It signals that you’re safe and helps your body relieve tension.
It’s also good for your brain. It can stimulate your imagination, visualization and critical thinking skills, which can help you build skills like resilience and adaptability.
Play can also foster empathy and understanding of others as it can help you see things from another’s perspective.
Playing can make you laugh, and laughter comes with a whole sleeve of health benefits, such as decreasing blood pressure and even improving your immune system!
Playing together can strengthen relationships. Positive, fun social interactions are important for your emotional wellbeing.
Now some of you may think “that’s all nice, but how do I even play as an adult?”. While play is a natural behavior of human beings, many adults need to re-learn how to play - it depends on your specific environment and social circles but you may feel a lot of pressure to be productive all the time and play is by its very nature not productive. So, the first step in re-learning play is to give yourself permission to just *be* instead of *do* (and that can be a huge step!).
Some ideas on how to ease back into play:
Think about your childhood. (Or if you can, ask a parent, sibling or childhood friend, that can be a great way to bring back memories!) What were your favorite ways to play back then? What did you love about your favorite game? Does any particular memory immediately give you that “I wish I could do that again” feeling? (You may not necessarily find anything that you want to just replicate as an adult as-is, this is just meant to kick-start your imagination!)
Gameify everyday tasks. Try to spot as many yellow items as possible on your commute to work. Make up a silly song about laundry while putting away the laundry. Pretend to be on a cooking show while making dinner. Do what you always do, just allow yourself to be silly about it!
Do something creative, even (and especially) if you’re not good at it. You may not think of drawing, writing etc. as playing but those are activities you can do for pure entertainment!
Moving your body doesn’t need to be purposeful exercise (and certainly not hating yourself in the gym), it can also be playtime: Do a silly little dance to your favorite song! Tippytoe, crawl, jump, walk backward.. from your bedroom to the kitchen, just for the fun of it!
Rethink toys. While it is fully okay for a grownup to buy, own and play with toys, and we should abolish the negative stereotypes about it (it’s creepy, it’s inherently a sign of poor mental health etc.) these stereotypes do exist and you may simply not feel comfortable. Luckily, there are a few toys that are generally considered socially acceptable for adults or are even marketed towards adults, such as board games, stress balls, adult coloring books, certain Lego sets or fan/collectors toys (like action figures). And when there are no judgy eyes watching, you may also have fun just playing with household items such as cardboard rolls! No need to go out and buy something!
Keep in mind that play isn’t a competition to win. You can’t play wrong - that’s the beauty of it! Just let your curiosity and enthusiasm guide you.
With all my love,
Your Tumblr Dad

SEVENHİLLSSHOPPİNG - MEGA+
Turkish cuisine is famous for its rich flavors and unique combination of spices and ingredients. Turkish cuisine has been influenced by many cultures such as the Ottoman, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean, resulting in a wide variety of dishes and flavors. One of the most popular aspects of Turkish cuisine is its desserts, known for their sweetness and unique texture. Two of the most famous Turkish desserts are baklava and Turkish delight. Baklava is a pastry made from layers of phyllo filled with chopped hazelnuts and honey syrup; Turkish delight, on the other hand, is a sweet, chewy confection made with starch and sugar, often flavored with rose water or other natural extracts. These traditional sweets are widely available in Turkish markets and specialty stores such as Seven Hills Shopping, which offers a wide range of Turkish baklava and other desserts. Turkish cuisine is known for its desserts as well as popular beverages such as herbal teas and Turkish coffee. Herbal tea is made from a variety of natural herbs and flowers such as sage, chamomile and rosehip. This tea is often consumed for its health benefits, including its ability to calm digestion, boost the immune system, and promote relaxation. Turkish coffee is a strong, rich coffee made using a special method of boiling coffee grounds in water and serving it without filtering. Turkish coffee is often served with a small glass of water and Turkish delight, making it a popular and enjoyable social experience. If you want to try traditional Turkish desserts and drinks, there are many options available online. ok you have made good science and health posts. Is it worth taking a probiotic as part of my selfcare routine?
Note: Not a doctor! Not medical advice, only a summary of useful information out there.
Ehhhhh, it's one of those things that is debated. Some research points towards usefulness, other research says it doesn't do much. There's also issues with what strains are in said probiotic, if they're even useful for you, if they can even survive your digestive tract (and your personal microbiota)…science is mixed on this too.
A recent review (2024) has concluded there is evidence enough for doctors and patients to consider using specific probiotics for uses in specific people (like supporting gut function during antibiotics, reducing respiratory tract infections, etc.), but not enough evidence to recommend it unconditionally in the population as preventative medicine.
This is another recent (2024) review that's similar, but they've helpfully included a couple pages at the end of specific studies, probiotic strains used, and their specific impact/mode of action studied on specific illnesses/diseases.
Interestingly, they've also just dropped another 2024 meta-analysis that suggests probiotic use saw a 51% reduction in symptoms reported by COVID-19 patients, including cough, headaches and diarrhea. They included 9 studies (3 of which were clinical trials), so they likely will need a larger sample size to say conclusively, but that could be a promising angle in a post-COVID world.
To add another confusing angle, postbiotics are becoming of increasing interest in research. They're bioactive compounds that are produced when probiotic bacteria are feeding on prebiotic foods in the colon (like fibers), and it's beginning to look like health benefits associated with pre/postbiotics actually come from postbiotic production. I have yet to see any available on the market, but apparently they are out there. I would also be aware that as a new frontier (and product) I couldn't say much about their individual efficiency, product contamination, etc.
If you decide to:
You can just make sure to frequently consume probiotic foods (yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, tempeh, kimchi, etc.) although I would also suggest you make sure you're eating enough fiber to feed the friendly bacteria already inside you.
Bacteria is very specifically named. You'll have a genus, species and a strain - Bifidobacterium longum W11. All three = you got it right, and this is important because probiotics are researched down to these specific strains. It also means that when you read a probiotic bottle, if you don't see all three of those names (as a general rule), it's probably useless to you.
Check your labelling, especially generic store brands. Yogurt starter is typically made with Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus, and if they advertise these as the "probiotic benefits" they're usually full of shit - these strains usually get destroyed in your stomach by acid and don't provide any benefit.
If you have a weakened or compromised immune system, don't take probiotics without medical advice. This includes if you're having chemo, you're critically ill or you've recently had surgery.
Lots of people experience gas, mild abdominal pain and changes in stools when first using probiotics, but you're probably going to want to keep a note of that for your doctor, just in case. Plenty also have additives and digestive aids, so look out for allergic reactions and things like soy/gluten if needed.
Probiotics are measured in colony forming units (CFU) - the number of viable cells. They might say 1 x 109 for 1 billion CFU or 1 x 1010 for 10 billion CFU. Some contain up to 50+ billion CFU. A common mistake made is assuming higher CFU = better for you. Most countries only require labelling to list the total weight of the microorganisms in the product (which can include both alive and dead microorganisms, not viable ones). Probiotics can die during their shelf-life and must be consumed alive to be of use. Ideally, you're looking for products labelled with the number of CFU at the end of the product's shelf life (vs at the time of manufacturing).
If in doubt, ask a doctor or pharmacist.

I hate social media as an artist
I hate posting art online, I hate the mindset of promoting your art, "marketability", productivity, etc. I hate adding hashtags, captions that mean nothing, forced into glazing and signing and watermarking every piece to prevent theft.
I hate "engagement" and "content" and "relevance". I hate thoughtless hate comments and baseless accusations and cancelation and constant moral debates over the smallest things.
I hate having to post frequently to even show up on people's feeds; trading my own mental and physical health for just a sliver of some stranger's attention. If I have to fight so hard for it, why should I even want it?
I hate being fake. I hate marketing myself, as if I'm nothing more than a price tag on a supermarket shelf, inanimate and unfeeling. I hate being encouraged to carefully curate someone I'm not, someone more likeable and easily digestible.
Someone who isn't too complex or multi-faceted. The audience only wants one thing. They want to know what to expect. They're not here for me, they're here for the comforting certainty of Content that's been systematically calculated to evoke something in them.
I hate taking pictures of my sketchbook, then retaking it from a different angle, with better lighting, always being pushed to do more, do better, be more *worth* people's time.
Always questioning if what I made is good enough, if what I made was just bad and that's why I don't get noticed or if its because I'm fighting some hopeless war against a faceless enemy- a corporation I could never beat.
A corporation that has the power to censor my art without even offering a reason as to why. A corporation that operates only for more, more, more money in a race that never stops- not for people, not for ethics, not for satisfaction. It never stops.
Or maybe I'm just not good enough. Maybe Ixm not talented and I never was and everyone who ever said differently was only lying to someone naive enough to believe them. Or maybe it's just that making the things that I like, in the way that I like, isn't worth money or time to other people and I just can't change that.
None of the options are reassuring.
I hate social media as an artist.
#anyways. i have lots of feelings about this if you hadnt noticed#especially lately#its exhausting and depressing and somehow i feel like the only one who feels like this#dont you guys feel like this too?? doesnt it wear you down?#im so tired

Democrat Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), who is running for late Sen. Diane Feinstein’s U.S. Senate seat, is calling for a $50 minimum wage, defending her position during a debate Monday night.
The moderator asked Lee to defend her call for a $50-an-hour minimum wage during the event, noting that it is “seven times the current national minimum wage of $7.25 an hour.”
When asked how that would be economically sustainable for small businesses, Lee immediately said that she owned and ran a small business for over a decade, creating “hundreds of jobs, benefits, retirement benefits, [and] also health care benefits.”
“I know what worker productivity means, and that means that you have to make sure that your employees are taken care of and have a living wage in the Bay Area,” Lee said. “I believe it was the United Way [that] came out with a report that — very recently — [said] $127,000 for a family of four is just barely enough to get by,” she said, pointing to another survey that identified $104,000 as not being enough for one person, essentially classifying them as low income “because of the affordability crisis.”
She added:
And so, just do the math. Just do the math. Of course, we have national minimum wages that we need to raise to a living wage — you’re talking about $20, $25 — fine, but I have got to be focused on what California needs and what the affordability factor is when we calculate this wage.
Lee ultimately failed to answer the question.SUBSCRIBE

Fox 40 notes that “a wage of $50 an hour would total $104,000 over the course of a year.”
WATCH:
Her call generated mockery from critics, including Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), who asked, “Who not $500 per hour?”
“Okay, why not $100 then? $1,000? Why not just make the minimum wage a billion dollars an hour? Then we’d all be richer than Elon Musk!” Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk remarked.
“Economic illiteracy like Rep. Lee’s has been around for centuries. Every country that adopts it becomes a dystopian nightmare,” he added as others piled on:
Lee’s call comes as inflation comes roaring back with no immediate signs of relief, as detailed in Breitbart Business Digest.

The Rise of Digestive Enzymes: Transforming the Digestive Health Products Market
The digestive health products market comprises a wide range of probiotic and prebiotic supplements that promote gut health and digestive function. Probiotic supplements contain 'good' bacteria that help maintain a balanced environment in the gut, while prebiotics act as food for the beneficial microbes already in the intestine. Growing awareness about the link between gut health and overall well-being has boosted demand for these products in recent years.
The global digestive health products market is estimated to be valued at US$ 47.02 Bn in 2023 and is expected to exhibit a CAGR of 7.2% over the forecast period 2023-2030, as highlighted in a new report published by Coherent Market Insights. Market Opportunity:
The opportunity in improving gut health through the use of digestive health products is expected to drive significant market growth over the coming years. Research increasingly shows that gut flora influences multiple systems in the human body like the immune system and brain. Imbalances in the gut microbiome have been associated with several diseases ranging from irritable bowel syndrome to cardiovascular conditions. As consumers seek natural remedies to tackle gut-related issues and promote overall wellness, the demand for high-quality probiotic and prebiotic supplements is poised to rise substantially. Manufacturers introducing innovative products targeting specific gut health problems can gain an edge in this burgeoning market. Porter's Analysis
Threat of new entrants: The threat of new entrants is moderate as the digestive health product market requires extensive R&D and brand recognition. However, opportunities exist with new innovations.
Bargaining power of buyers: The bargaining power of buyers is high given the presence of many substitute products. Buyers can opt for private label products if branded products increase prices.
Bargaining power of suppliers: The bargaining power of suppliers is moderate as key ingredients are commodities available from many suppliers globally. Suppliers of specialized ingredients may wield some pricing power.
Threat of new substitutes: The threat of new substitutes is high from alternative probiotic and prebiotic sources, as well as non-dairy yogurt and drinks. Innovation is high in functional foods and beverages.
Competitive rivalry: Competition is intense among global players and private label brands. Companies compete on product innovation, brand, and marketing.
SWOT Analysis
Strengths: Strong brands and R&D capabilities of key players. Increasing awareness about digestive health and gut health.
Weaknesses: Sensitivity of probiotic cultures to processing and storage conditions. Higher prices than conventional foods limit adoption.
Opportunities: Growth in vegetarian and vegan diets driving demand for non-dairy products. Emerging markets yet to realize potential. Flexitarian trends favor functional foods.
Threats: Intense private label competition and proliferation of me-too products dilute brands. Regulatory environment can impact innovations.
Key Takeaways
The global digestive health products market is expected to witness high growth. Being a specialty industry, it is more resilient to economic cycles compared to staples. The market size is estimated to reach US$ 91.31 Bn by 2030 from US$ 47.02 Bn in 2023, expanding at a CAGR of 7.2%. North America holds the largest share currently, driven by health awareness and discretionary spending.
