So, we've started booking things and spending money, which means it's official; I'm going to Disneyworld this October! My wonderful partner @bluesuedecoat is going to Orlando for a company conference, and we're extending our stay for a few days on either end to see some parks together.

In light of the extra expenses, I'm probably going to be opening commissions sometime over the next few weeks, with the intent to draw them during my spare time in the evenings. I'll give Patreon supporters first dibs at slots, but I'm open to ideas from everyone about what I should offer (cheaper sketch commissions, expensive fully rendered ones, pay-what-you-want timed commissions, bit of everything?)

On today's episode of random childhood memories I suddenly re-acquired out of nowhere, we have the time when I was around 7-8 (give or take a couple years, my long-term memory is hazy) and was at the Finding Nemo ride in Disney World, in the Epcot park.

Getting me to even step foot on the ride was a trip for my parents, because I despised Finding Nemo as a kid ( to this day, I don't remember why, I just absolutely hated it for no reason ) and was convinced that I'd hate the ride just as much. Eventually, when I was promised that there was an aquarium after the ride where I could see real fish, I agreed to go on, as fish were one of my favorite things back then. I wanted to be a marine biologist with all my heart, and as much as I hated the animated fish in the Nemo movie, I couldn't pass up the chance to see the real deal.

One incredibly boring water ride later, I was ready and raring to go as we exited the ride and stepped into the aquarium; and being a young un-diagnosed autistic kid, there was only one way I knew how to express my joy at the fact that I was finally standing in the aquarium, surrounded by my fishy friends. Running. And this particular aquarium was pretty much built for my needs, considering the main room of it was a giant circular dome, with a large carpeted circular path in the center. Around and around I went, smiling giddily and all the while taking in the sight of all the lovely fish I'd passed during my sprinting spree. I could've gone on for hours. I probably would have, if not for the tragedy that struck next.

I'll cut the dramatics. After running for a couple minutes, I fell over, and gave myself the rug-burn of the century. Of course, this immediately ruined my entire day, and I spent the next 15 minutes in the aquarium being soothed by my parents, and unable to see a single fish because I was crying so hard. I then refused to step foot on the ride again for the rest of the trip, and as far as I'm aware, I haven't been on it since.

Moral of the story: fish are great, rough carpeting and the movie finding Nemo still sucks ( although I don't feel the same scalding hatred towards it as I did, it's just not a movie I think I'll ever like ).
