A certain look finds its way to the baker's face.

It's not exactly a scowl. Nor is it an irritated frown. If anything, it's a look that screams sorrow. It's nothing against his friend. How would he know? The last time he and Cohen saw each other, they were in front of his living room tv playing Pokemon Stadium.

That was 21 years ago.

Here they were, catching as adults.

Catching up over a fresh cup of coffee, bonding over college stories. Laughing at their childhood memories of running through their Chicago neighborhood. Chris's laughter subsided the minute his parents were brought up.

"Um," Chris muses. "They're no longer here."

He sighs.

"...Car accident on my 10th birthday. They went out to get a cake and....someone hit them. That's why I'm here in Arizona, the Lunas took me in after and I've been here ever since."

He stares at the photos of his partners on the bakery's wall for a moment before coming back to reality.

"I'm sorry...I didn't mean to bring the convo down. My bad dude. How are your folks?"

"you here to take me away? so soon? this little diddy and i were just gettin’ to know each other…" he's still speaking with that dramatic tone of voice, clutching his drink in hand with an exaggerated look of distress on his face, emphasized with a jutted out lip.

But wait there more! A thing I see people say about hip-hop is that it is misogynistic and mainly a boys club. To that I say, so is rock dipshit! So is the whole music industry! the ratio of respected women in hip-hop is probably about the same as the ratio in rock music. Here are some of the best women in hip-hop.

Doo Wop (That Thing) We heard Ms. Lauryn Hill on the flow playlist as a member of The Fugees. She is well respected as one of the best rappers of all time. Unfortunately her career is spotty at best, leaving her with only one legendary solo album.

Work It Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott is another rap legend. I love the hook on this one. She says "I put my thing down flip it and reverse it" and then she literally reverses the line and plays it backwards. Missy Elliott is deftly corny to say the least.

Woman Little Simz is rushing to the head of the pack in terms of recent rappers. Though she started in the mid '10's Little Simz dropped my 2021 album of the year with Sometimes I Might Be Introvert.

Diddy Bop People are sleeping on Noname. She deserves more recognition so I'm putting her on this list.

U.N.I.T.Y. The first female rap superstar. Most people probably think of Queen Latifah as a 90's TV personality if at all, but she was a genuinely talented rapper who earned her superstar status.

Black Magic getting people to listen to Backxwash is one of my pet projects. You want angrier women? You want angry goth horrorcore transgender rap music? please listen to my current underrated fave.

Queen Bitch Lil' Kim was probably the first female rapper to use overt sexuality as a means to control her own image. She is an obvious influence on most modern female rappers. For example...

Bodak Yellow Cardi B is great because no other rapper talks about her pussy nearly this much.

Superbass Nicki Minaj is probably among the top ten most influential rappers of all time. She is probably most known for her bubbly pink brand of pop rap, but to real hip-hop heads she is renowned for her insane flow and ability to radically change her intonation at the flip of a switch.

Sho Shot "But where are the women in gangsta rap?" I hear you asking. Well look no further than The Lady Of Rage. She was a staple of Death Row Records throughout the 90's though she only released one album.

at work i pick orders for others stores and on the tickets it'll usually show a customer name or a shop name. now i'm sure some of the customer names are fake or just nicknames but i'm really trying to imagine the customer who ordered something yesterday who had to tell the cashier to put his name down as "diddi bop"

I'd meant for this to include the other boys aswell, but it was taking too long and I wanted to post this. If you wanna see the other van der linde fellas reactions, to this or anything else, Please come scream it into my asks!

If you're the kind of person that has one verse of a song stuck on repeat in their head 24/7 OR if every time you have half a free brain cell its being used to hum or sing a little diddy to yourself OR as soon as you're alone every rooms a stage for your star role in your self produced musical

This is for you.



Oftentimes you don't even notice that you're doing it. You're sat off to the side, minding your own business, attention taken up by something in your hands and you'll start to hum, and then your humming escalates into half singing, half mumbling your way through through the lyrics you don't remember. Before you know it you're serenading a half washed stew pot, feet tapping and head bopping along to the beat playing out in your head.

Eventually you'll either catch yourself or get all the way through the song and focus your full attention back onto your task, but only until the cycle starts again.

Charles will sit nearby while you're busy and hum little made up tunes to see if any will remind you of a song.

If it does you'll absentmindedly start singing it back to him. If he recognizes it he'll hum along, and if he doesn't he'll see how many times he can make you repeat the same tune by periodically humming the opening chords.

If his humming doesn't remind you of anything, you'll play a little game of repeating his tune back to him and adding something to it. Then he'll add something, then you. Until you're happy with the melody you've created or you can't remember how it goes.

His favorite thing is, if he can get you really into the game, you'll start adding words.

Nothing complicated, just little rhyming couplets, maybe an A B A B pattern if you're feeling fancy, but he finds it amazing and adorable regardless.
