Relationship: Romantic, but nobody knows you’re dating.

Synopsis: You and Velvet are secretly dating, and something happens that nearly gets you caught.

“You know, you don’t have to help us get ready? Especially since we don’t pay you. It makes me feel bad!” Veneer said as you put on his eyeliner.

“Oh it’s okay! I like hanging out with you guys, so might as well help.” You glanced over to Velvet, who was doing her hair. Truthfully, you mostly hung around to be with her. Not that you didn’t like Veneer, it’s just that you and Velvet had something going on. You’ve been secretly dating for about two months now, and it’s been great. Well, other than the fact that you have to be sneaky.

“Yeah. Just be thankful, Veneer. She does a way better job than Crimp anyway.” Said Velvet, not looking away from the mirror.

You laughed. “Oh, come on Vels, be nice. Crimp does her best!” Velvet scoffed, as if she didn’t agree with your statement. You playfully rolled your eyes.

Suddenly, one of the stage crew members popped their head in. “You’re on in three, guys!” He said, holding up three fingers.

Veneer let out a girlish scream, and hopped off the chair. “We better go! Thanks (Y/N)!” He grabbed Velvet’s arm, and dragged her out the door with him. Velvet gave a quick wave to you before vanishing, making you giggle.

It hasn’t been easy keeping your relationship a secret. Well, for you at least. Velvet seems to be doing okay. But you find it hard to hide your feelings. She makes you so happy, you can barely contain yourself.

You remember all the times she pulled you aside to give you a quick kiss. And all the times you barely caught yourself before saying “I love you” to her in public. You were so caught up in your memories, that you almost forgot about the performance! You yelped at the realization, and quickly sprinted into the audience.

Velvet and Veneer exited the stage, waving goodbye to their ecstatic fans. Their performance left your voice, and many other people’s, nearly gone from all the cheering you’ve done.

You squeezed your way through the crowd, and made your way back to the dressing room. Velvet and Veneer weren’t there yet. You thought they were probably signing autographs, so you waited.

A couple minutes later, Velvet entered the room, but without her brother. “Where’s Veneer?” You asked.

“Still giving people unibrows. He might be a while.” She laughed. You did as well, imagining the line of people waiting to have Veneer draw on their face.

“Your show was great, by the way. As always.” You said, walking over to your girlfriend.

“I know, but thanks.” She said proudly. “I like how I can always see you in the crowd. It wouldn’t be the same without my number-one fan! Oh, and girlfriend.” She said that last part in a joking manner, as if she had forgotten you two were dating. You giggled, rolling your eyes.

“I love you, Vels.” You said, giving her a hug.

Velvet blushed. “You too.” She said, quickly. She wasn’t quite ready to say it back fully yet, but she still made an effort. Just so you knew she felt the same. When you let go of her, Velvet quickly pecked your cheek. You smiled at the gesture.

The door swung open, causing you and Velvet to jump away from each other. It was Veneer. “Woo, boy! My hand is tired! I’m sure I drew on, like, two hundred people’s foreheads!”

You laughed, then turned your attention back to Velvet. Her expression was not one you were expecting. She was staring at you, eyes wide, and mouth open, in shock. You gave a confused look, and mouthed a “what?”. She pointed to her cheek, then at the mirror. You turned to look at yourself, and what you saw made your face turn red.

There was a lipstick mark on your cheek, from Velvet. You slapped a hand over it, and whipped back around face her. You had a panicked look on your face, and silently asked her what you should do. Velvet put her arms up, gesturing that she didn’t know. Luckily, Veneer was still talking, so you had at least a little time to get rid of it.

You couldn’t go outside. People would see you leaving the twins’s dressing room with a red lipstick mark and would most likely put the pieces together. So instead, you shuffled to the vanity, praying to God that Veneer would keep on talking. Luckily, you spotted some makeup remover.

Velvet noticed, and walked over to you. She poured some on a cotton pad, while you kept your hand over the mark. She then moved your hand, and put the cotton pad on it, standing in front of you as you wiped the lipstick off. You then threw the cotton pad away.

Veneer had finished talking, and looked over at you. Noticing you and Velvet’s nervous expressions, he gave a questioning look. “Something wrong?” He asked.

“It’s nothing!” You blurted out, while Velvet nodded her head vigorously. Veneer shrugged, and moved to the vanity to remove his makeup. You and Velvet turned to each other, and let out a sigh of relief.

That was close.

Ok whoops wrong reference. Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I made a MV of the song "Darling Dance" by Kairiki Bear featuring my favourite little tricksters for the occasion!

This also acts as a behind-the-scenes post, so let's get straight into that, shall we?

MV Project 1 "Darling Dance"

Illustration time: 37 hours

Editing time: Approx. 30-35 hours

Total: 70 hours

*Cough* Holy freakin' moly does making an MV take so long. Before you roll off your bed, I'll say that part of the reason making the art took so long was because I have trouble drawing Marx consistently.

Here's some unused assets! Look at them, they're all salty over not making the cut.

In all seriousness though, a lot of times I don't really see a lot of editors/ MV makers getting appreciation for their efforts. And now that I've personally experienced making an MV for the first time, it's also increased my admiration to the people who dedicate their time to this! All the kudos to them.

Now, I'll go scene by scene then comment along the way! Spoilers ahead!

Verse 1

Pretty good for what it is. In the first image, you see that heart behind Magolor? I discovered the motion of it on complete accident lol. Capcut is hard to figure out..

I also really like the color palette of 2nd image. That art of Marx was the last one I did during production (aka I drew it this morning), and just look at him. He's such a bastard he's the best.

Pre Chorus 1

Mmmm yeah it sure is the pre chorus! I put a bar behind the text in the middle because I didn't want people to stare into their soulless eyes for too long. That probably worked!

1st Chorus

When I first added in the expression change, I fangirled over it a little on the first rewatch. Like, come on! They suddenly look mischievous, and the color change on the background! I know I drew it but still!

For the rest, I experimented a little with all the "Nah"s! I think it ended up well. Most of the lyric editing in this MV is completely original, so I had a couple of things to try out!

Verse 2

This song is horrifically outdated because it says Twitter instead of X!! (/sarcasm)

This scene is my second favourite. I'm really proud of the details on the tabs and the editing at the beginning! Wish I could put more images but the app only allows ten. Bummer.

Pre Chorus 2

I think it's cute, and I used it as my pfp on YouTube! That's about it though.. image limit is killing me I can't put anything here :(

Chorus 2

...Not gonna spoil it! I like how I drew them, but there ain't anything notable. Unless you look at the last image I put right before the bridge. :)

Bridge

This is where my editing comes in freakin' clutch. Ooooooh it's so satisfying to look at. Chef's kiss. Also those Marxs (Marxes?) are really cute.

The second part of the bridge is nice as well! I tried to make the lyrics snap to the rhythm. Glad I added that tv effect in the bg too!

Chorus 3

This scene is my favourite! Wanna know why?

This sequence right here. I think I will etch it into my brain forever... I love me some snappy editing. Like a lot. Like a lot a lot!

The second part of the chorus is like the original song's MV! I loved the hearts popping in and out whoever thought of that is a genius. Putting it into the MV was a good decision!

I hope you don’t feel pressured or stressed about it, make sure to prioritize your own wants first. The quality is worth the wait <3 that said, I’m going insane over Martyn. oH also!!! Thank youuuu I appreciate the thought about not feeling pressured or stressed, I promise I'm not! I know everyone is just excited for their favorite/most compelling storyline to continue! And like I've said elsewhere, I plan to stick to my mantra...when I try to write something I'm not in the mood to write, I burn out and don't feel like writing at all. That's what happened to me the last time I stopped writing, and I didn't post at all for nearly a year. I HATED THAT. So TTSBC and TT is the perfect situation for me! Lots of ships, lots of characters, lots of dynamics, and between the two I can write BASICALLY anything I feel like at any point in time! So yeah! I'll write what I feel like writing in the moment, because that's always when I come up with my best stuff!

I NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT SASHA/DREW THEY ARE SO SILLY

OHOHO, YOU HAVE COMMITTED A TERRIBLE MISTAKE

When Horror and Dust had Drew, they actually didn't know how to name him. They were this close )( of naming them "Mistake" (because they had an instant regret of being parents once the child was actually there), but then Cross was like "DO NOT NAME YOUR FUCKING CHILD MISTAKE", so he was the one that gave Drew her name

Her name "Sasha" is a chosen name, and she stole it from Sasha Waybright from Amphibia because he is a huge kinnie of her. Also related to this, they canonically have Sasha (from Amphibia) set as their pfp on his private account on whatever the Undertale equivalent of Twitter is

If you've seen my art about horrordust, you'de know me and Xomma agree that they are so fucking toxic and, although they truly love their kid and treat him as such, their relationship with each other affects Sasha in a way they had not expected. Because of their awful relationship, Drew is afraid of falling in love, because he thinks he would end up like their parents; always fighting, arguing, telling each otehr "I hate you" as much as they say "I love you", etc. Because of this fear, she has cut off her friendship with a bunch of people, realising that he was starting to develope romantic feelings for them. Most of the times they did it unconsiously

He does love his parents though, a lot, they mean everything to her, and he know that they love them too, never even doubted it, but she is fully aware that things would be way better if they divorced and were away from each other

When someone asks Drew about how their parents are, he replies with something along the lines of "They aren't the best parents out there, but they try really hard to be good parents, so I guess that makes them just enough"

When Sasha was a kid (about 6-10 if I remember correctly) he gifted her parents one of those "world's best dad" mugs, but she crossed out the "world's best" and replaced it with "Decent". Horror found it hilarous and immediately became his favourite cup. Years later when Drew came out of the closet, their parents gifted her a cup that said "I came out to my parents and all I got was this mug"

HE HAS A GIANT HAMMER COLLECTION. Some hammers she buys, others are gifts, and others they make them themselves, often based on AUs she visits from time to time (Example: they have this Outertale themed hammer with stars and all that shit)

Originally when we had just created Drew, Xomma and I had agreed that he would be besties with Paper Jam and be in a queer platonic relationship with him and Lux. That was until we found out that canon Paper Jam is currently a grown adult. Idea was immediately discarded because, YOU KNOW, THAT'S A CHILD AND A GROWN ASS MAN. After that we started checking the characters ages before deciding if they'd be friends with the kid so that we don't go through all this again

Drew's best friends are Lux and Shino (one of the hundreds of afterdeath kids out there), but of course they have many other friends. Just like a good anime protagonist, he would force friendship into every single person she comes across

He knows SO MANY LANGUAGES

Like, you know how people headcanon characters to speak the same language as the creator? Well, WE DID A SLIGHT MISCALCULATION

They of course speak English, she also speaks Spanish, a mix of an Argentinian, Peruvian and Venezuelan accent (I'm Argentinian and Xomma is Venezuelan and lives in Peru, so the accent kinda sticks). And you'd think that'd be it, right? WRONG

We both know a bit of Portuguese (me more than Xomma), and I know a little bit of Italian, and Xomma suddendly surprised me telling me that they also know a bit of GERMAN AND FRENCH

Which means Drew speaks fluent English and Spanish (With an amalgame of accents), can hold a simple conversation in Portuguese, and can throw at you some random words and phrases in Italian, German and French, JESUS CHRIST I SAY

If you ask where did he learn all those languages from, let's just say random people on the omega timeline taught her. "Where did you learn Portuguese" "Fabiola from the Omega Timeline taught me" who is Fabiola? WHO KNOWS!

She is a menace to society

Her place in the school hierarchy is difficult to point. They are a bit of a weird kid, so he sometimes gets bullied by other kids, but as I mentioned, he's also a menace, so there are a lot of kids that also fear them for how feral they are. Though she does have a fair amount of friends and from different years and ages, so he's also kinda cool with a bunch of people (???

Master of blackmail

When he's a grown teenager's a bit older (about 16-18 I'd say), she starts taking little "jobs" some people give them in exchange for some money. At first they have to do pretty normal stuff; help someone with some boxes, look after a kid for a few hours, deliver something to someone, etc. But as time passes some of this requests start getting darker and darker, to the point where it's nore rare for him to be asked to beat up someone (they always ask why they are requesting said stuff, and will only agree to the job if she thinks the person deserves the punishment)

He is a sugar addict. As a kid she would often still candy from people on the Omega Timeline. Horror and Dust had to explain to her that he couldn't keep doing that or else they would end up being kicked out from there, aka, kicked out of one of the few places where they would let in the child of two serial murderers. She stopped doing so after that, and instead now they carry a bag of candy with them everywhere he goes

His favourite pastry are cinnamon rolls

She knows how to cook (Horror taught him), but choses to be attrocious at the kitchen

As I mentioned before, one of Drew's best friend's is Lux. And if you've seen my art of them, YOU'D KNOW THEY ARE A BIT MORE THAN JSUT BESTIES. At first they really are just friends, but as they grow older and their friendship becomes deeper they start falling in love with each other. Lux is well aware of both her own feelings, and Sasha's feelings (comes with being daughter of the guardian of positivity I guess), but chooses not to do anything about those feelings because she knows about Drew's fear of love, and doesn't want to push him into something he's not ready for, so she is happy to wait for as long as she has to. Meanwhile Drew, while he was the first to fall, takes the longest to realis about her feelings and do something about them. It takes them SO MANY FUCKING YEARS for him to do something about it, to the point where they finally get into a relationship when they are in their early twenties. Before that it was all gay tension and Sasha convincing himself that all the stuff they do with Lux is "Perfectly normal friend things to do" and there is nothing more to it (They were not, in fact, "Perfectly normal friend things to do", and there was actually so much more to it)

Since I'm talking about this two I might as well jsut dropped this chart we did the other day about them

The leather of his gloves scraped down the scar that bisected her eye, followed the ruined flesh down her cheek and came to rest on her chin, just a thumb and pointer finger holding it there. Nothing demanding; stable like an anchor at sea, though whether he was holding himself or her, Siobhan couldn’t say.

She held Loghain’s gaze unwavering, and waited. It had been her, up until this point. He was doubtful, or untrusting, or wary—and she did not blame him. But it could not always come from her, forever.

His lips parted, and for a moment she thought he would step back, his hands would fall away, and they would continue on their way through Lowtown. But then the pressure on her chin renewed and the way he was looking at her went both softer and harder at the same time.

He kissed her.

They had kissed before. Flavored with whiskey and celebration, her lips on his, always Siobhan initiating. As if he’d forgotten that he could take the first step in this.

Oh, but she was glad that he remembered.

His chapped lips scraped roughly against hers, worn from worrying with her teeth. But the kiss was gentle, building, like a wave that lapped against the coast when a storm was on the horizon. She pressed her tongue to the seam of his lips and when he gave into her, brought a hand up to thread through the unbound hair behind his ear.

In kind, he caught her by the waist, pulled her to the side as he deepened the kiss. It was as though a barrier had broken, whatever restraint he’d been imposing on himself broken with every moment that she did not push him away, every moment that she responded eagerly where he might have doubted. When her lungs finally burned in protest, Siobhan tilted her head back only slightly against the sandstone building he’d pressed her against, just enough to breathe.

“About time,” she murmured. Loghain raised a single brow, but the effect was diminished by the flush in his cheeks, the slight heave in his shoulders when he drew breath.

Siobhan cupped his jaw, smoothed her thumb over the wrinkles that lined his face. “Did you think I would turn you away?”

“I—“ Loghain started, then stopped. “It is hard not to doubt,” he admitted softly. “But I apologize. You deserve better than that.”

“So do you,” she said steadily. Extricating her hand from his hair, she held his face between her palms so that he had no choice but to meet her gaze head on. “You doubt because you have been doubted, have doubted in the past. But hear me, if you’ve heard nothing else: I do not doubt you. I see you and I know your history and I do not doubt you.”

She closed her eyes with a deep breath, and when she opened them, they were blazing as surely as any fire. “You are exactly what the world has asked of you. And when I say that I want you, I mean exactly as you are. Exactly as you are.”

It was too much, probably, but the words spilled out of her, a desperate, genuine plea for trust. She did not expect him to accept it, not right away at least. He had been cruel to the world and the world had been cruel in kind and it would not be undone in a day.

“It is…hard, to believe,” he finally said. Siobhan nodded.

“I know. All I ask is that you try?”

Why did you choose your URL?

It's a combination of a couple of old jokes I had from middle school, the older of which was actually kind of a mean thing that I won't get into. However, KanoNavi was the second iteration of my old url FritoNavi, and because it rolled off the tongue better I decided to just switch to that full time.

I've tried sideblogs a couple times in the past, but they never stuck. I prefer to keep everything in one place, even if it means bombarding my non-Genshin mutuals with Genshin all the time (Sorry guys, thanks for sticking with me lol <3)

My archive goes back to 2017, but I did change URLs once so I think I might have started in 2016? Sometime around there.

Before tumblr, I was on DeviantArt to follow Splatoon fanartists, and some of them mentioned having Tumblr so I decided to join that too!

Venti's been my personality for like 3 years now, and this is one of my favorite fanarts of him (I love his smile, he's so delightful <3)

Hi nonnie, well I drew it myself on paper, it's not digital at any sorts. They're Matt and Madilyn (my oc) on Valentine's day. 💖💖💖

This was the first sketch of it, it's referenced from a pose I found on pinterest (I changed the expressions a bit because the guy in the reference was pissed off — in contrast to Matt who was enjoying the hold 😉)

Actually I never noticed he has a hold on her bum until my friends mentioned it to me 😂 but it was hilarious, they looked at me like "you pervert" 😂😂😂 no one knows what goes on in this little brain of mine (the most perverted shit). But I didn't do it on purpose this time 😂😂😂

This is the final product, I use Faber Castel color pencils (the normal one — not the water color pencils), and for the markers it's called TOUCH idk if it exists outside my country but they're amazing and the colors are solid — and PRISMACOLOR markers too, as well as calligraphy markers because it has the darkest black. I also used a regular black ballpen for tracing. And for sketching I used an HB pencil.

As for the context of the drawing itself, it's valentine's day, Matt confesses his feelings to Madilyn after a year of total Rollercoasters between them (besides them thinking the other is considering them a friend and not interested in them in a romantic way, and they don't want to ruin their friendship if any of them confesses). When Matt confesses, Madilyn gets surprised and —in contrast— grabs his face close and kisses him, it's not long, it's not that of a perfect one, it was more like "finally you said it!" one. She parts and apologizes for what she did and how awkward it was of her to catch him off guard, so he tells her that he loves her and her kiss and he wants to kiss her (for real now). She accepts and kisses him, they dance their way out of the office kitchen. The kisses are eager and sensational, but they end up in giggles and lipstick marks around Matt's face. They're caught on camera for Foggy's valentine's special recap, they're all red — while Foggy and Karen are laughing their asses at them because it took them so long to actually realize that they liked each other. "we thought you'd hook up in two weeks not a goddamn year!" Foggy would yell, and Karen can't keep her face straight. After they're done laughing, Matt asks Madilyn out, she asks for a specific ice-cream date, and he accepts and kisses her passionately. 🥴💖

MY VIRTUAL SINGER SONG TIMELINE

I wanna make this as a little story about my earliest connections to Vocaloid/Virtual Singers and how it all led me to loving them.

#1 Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya!

Without a doubt, this was the first. All those YouTube videos and internet memes, it was the "Nyan Cat song" of course! But... in reality, it was actually a Miku song, but super sped up. I and many others wouldn't know, so my jaw DROPPED when a friend hovered over the song in Project DIVA, but that wouldn't be until much later. While this wasn't my true start, it would be a long journey.

#2 Senbonzakura and LOL – Lots of Laugh –

Maaany years later, and here I am! My first actual exposure to Hatsune Miku! I'd download a ton of 3DS demos to play, and Project Mirai was one of them. These two would be burned into my mind forever. I even remember going out of my way and searching them up on YouTube, and being amazed by the visuals on arcade/PS4!! I now understood the most basic concept of Miku; someone who sings. I don't remember why I liked this though. I must have seen it as a cute game, with cute songs and fun visuals. But, that would be it. I'd eventually delete the demo, forget about the songs, and move on... but not before...

#3 Kagerou Daze

The first song I encountered on my own! I discovered it while looking at videos of Senbonzakura and LOL, so this was around the same time as that. It was this animated one in particular that I saw the most! I believe I did see the Project DIVA music video, too. I just found myself so enthralled by this, it was so different from the cutesy songs I was just listening to. It was such a heavy feeling song, but the pacing made it so fun to listen to. A feeling that would return later... I listened to these 3 songs a lot, but yeah, I just stopped and didn't really bother looking for more.

#4 Tokyo Teddy Bear

Once again, more years would pass, but this was it. I was having a VRChat session with friends, and one of them put on some virtual singer songs. I didn't really care or pay any attention to them, and just chatted or drew. That is until they put Tokyo Teddy Bear, the Kasane Teto cover. I completely stopped what I was doing and just stared. It was like my friend's voices disappeared and all I could see and hear was this song... and it's visuals. And when it ended, I asked my friend to play it again, and again. It was kind of funny, as they pointed out how I looked just standing still and staring. He showed me some other Teto songs, like Teto Territory and that Fukkireta song.

Afterwards...

I was OBSESSED with Teto. My PFP, reaction gifs I'd send, and non-stop talking for about a week straight. I was so happy to find something I liked this much. And that's when my friend showed me Project DIVA Mega Mix+!! I've come full circle. From there I liked even MORE songs, and after a day or two of him showing me the game, I bought it alongside the DLC, and bam. Vocaloid/Virtual Singer lover forever. Got Project SEKAI, downloaded Project DIVA and Mirai on my PS Vita and 3DS, and got a few merchandise.

I've never felt this obsessed with something in a long while, I think my last thing was Persona 3 back in high school. It's really fun though!! Listening and finding all sorts of new music, seeing the music videos, building my playlist, sharing it with others. I definitely skimmed through a bit, but music means a lot to me. And this form of music is just so amazing to me, a near endless supply of songs to listen to. It makes me so happy. Even the most depressing songs make me happy, because I have something to listen and connect to when I'm down. I love using music as a coping skill !!!!!!
