THATS A GOOD ONE. A few I have (that aren't from my original clans) are Stonestep, a Thunderclan medicine cat. He's a hardy and gruff black medium-hair. He can come off as insensitive with his bluntness but he's very caring actually, and is also a pretty skilled fighter, as shown by the collection of scars he's quite proud of.

Appleclaw, a Windclan warrior who is an extremely skilled hunter. He's an Oriental shorthair with a muddled tan coloring that blends in well with the colors of his territory. He's an offensive fighter and very quick on his feet. He's extremely tricky and clever, and is great at sneaking and eavesdropping to get secrets he can keep. His morals are dubious at best but he's a good warrior, and as the deputy, nobody really has the guts to question him. ((Though,,, he does get up to some trouble.))

Minnowsprout is a Riverclan medicine cat. A tuxedo shorthair and the runt of his litter, he never actually managed to get a hang of swimming during his training as a warrior, so he contently resigned to be a medicine cat as compromise. Though he doesn't like water very much and often feels very out of place in his clan, he has strong connections to Starclan and is very loyal.

Swampfur is a BIG boy. He's a LARGE very dark brown tabby shorthair with a crooked tail. He's a Shadowclan warrior but he feels a lot of pressure from his clan. He's extremely skilled in hunting and protecting their border, but he feels a bit overwhelmed. Everyone seems to expect him to become the deputy but he doesn't really want that. He used to be a loner when he was younger and he feels undeserving, also because he just doesn't like the idea of being stuck in a position of leadership. The problem is, he doesn't know how to tell anyone that.

Then there's Cliffjaw. A gray tabby Skyclan warrior who fell from a ledge as an apprentice and hit his upper jaw. He's recovered well though and does well hunting, though some of his fellows warriors sometimes criticize him for his laid back and aloof nature. He's just there to have a good time tbh, which is why he sometimes finds himself falling into trouble.

Jealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

hahaha. i haven't played in a long time so my characterization is fuzzy. i'm teetering between vere not getting jealous easily because he knows you're together and he's incredibly confident the person you're talking to is nowhere near his level v. him being more on the possessive(?) side because you're one of the only people he's close to What is that person doing.

i'll land on that i don't think he gets incredibly jealous,,, at least not easily! he Is confident in himself and your relationship,, plus he can tell when 1) you're trying to rile him up 2) genuinely oblivious to whatever the person's trying to do or 3) uncomfortable with the situation

no matter what i can imagine him coming up to you and getting your attention again, maybe sparking an introduction while he doesn't drop eye contact with the person in front of you.

vere doesn't have to try hard to be very menacing, and he casually gets you away from the situation. the ease he has facing the person is telling enough that Yes you're in a relationship and Yes he Is better and more important than them and No he isn't afraid to start shit if they do so Back off

if you were just trying to be a Brat. well. you've got his attention and you'll face some consequences for sure!

in a more lighthearted situation where you realize ?! omg were u jealous. omggg.... he deflects and says of course not. he just thinks that person was annoying and you had better things to do. he Will swoosh his tail at your face if you bring them up again (he is pouting a little bit.)

thank you for the ask, I'm honored that you want to hear my thoughts on this, and thanks char for sending your anon over to me!

okay, you see the thing is, the reason I blurred it out is a bit anticlimactic: I have no actual clue what I was talking about.

I don't actually know too much about this topic of what the dynamics between dannies and phillies looked like in the past because I've only been here since november last year and have never seen someone really discuss this in depth, I've only seen it being mentioned in passing. So everything I wrote was assumptions I made based on vague posts and my general understanding of dnp's and the phandom's history. I feel like this was enough to get the gist of this across to someone who doesn't really know dnp (apart from my previous elaborate ramblings about them) but not enough to post it on tumblr.

so if somebody has any input regarding this topic please tell me! and if I'm saying anything that's wrong (which is very likely) please correct me, I'm genuinely curious to hear thoughts on this by someone who actually knows what they're talking about :)

I will put what I wrote, along with some commentary, under the cut!

(addition: as I'm writing this commentary I'm realising how little I actually know, so please don't take this as actual information but more as...an interesting case study of how a new phannie perceives the history of the phandom)

first of all some more background info:

the original question was "[are there any people who] only like one of them and hate/don’t care about the other one?".

some shorter messages leading up to the long one seen in the screenshot:

there used to be a dannie/phillie divide but afaik all the way back in like...2013. now there are obviously people who prefer one of them but not in a way that they actively dislike the other one. and within the phandom I don't think there are really people who feel indifferent about one of them cause yk the thing is, these days it's impossible to watch one of them alone. dan doesn't use his channel, we wouldn't even see him if it wasn't for phil and even when he did a live stream thingy for his solo tour, phil was there. and phil either includes or talks about dan in every video he makes. so I guess either you like both or neither, you don't really have much of a choice also, they make it so goddamn obvious how much they love and care for and apprechiate each other and what an important role they play in each other's life, it would be kind of weird to claim to be a fan of one of them and then hate the person they like the most, yk

this was asked in the context of us talking about why there's this phenomenon that if you have a group of famous people who are strongly associated with each other (for example boybands or actors that work together on a tv show), there'll often be one person that is "hated" by the fandom. Their hypothesis was that this happens when "the one hated is either problematic, doesn’t like the other(s), or is more successful than the other(s)".

okay first the relevant part of my answer: I think overall you're right. I feel like if someone's more popular an important factor for them being disliked is that it feels like they think they're better/more important than the rest of the group. or if they all started out together that they don't apprechiate where they've come from, which both obviously hurts people who like that thing this person dismisses. but this also goes the other way, the people who like that person who is more famous often dislike the others in that group for being "jealous"/"leeching" off of the more famous person's fame.

and finally the thing you actually asked about, the long messages froom the screenshot broken up into multiple parts with the afore mentioned commentary:

now the less relevant part which is just me yapping about dnp and why this didn't happen to them I can imagine that at the very beginning some people probably didn't like dan because he was just some random dude, just another fan, who suddenly was part of youtube and attached to phil.

did...did this actually happen? it seems plausible to me, and I obviously know about charlie etc but how did people really react to dan suddenly being part of the AmazingPhil universe? I know it was an entirely different youtube culture back then and everything happened on a much smaller scale, so it's really hard to estimate how people reacted to this back then. in fact, now that I think more about it, judging from old screenshots I've seen, even at the very beginning people mostly seemed to be quite supportive of them and I think dan got an overwhelmingly positive reponse to uploading his first videos?

can't tell you exactly what went down after that but I do know 2012 was incredibly difficult (long story). things were very tense and especially dan was reallyreally defensive during that time and he had his whole "we're two seperate people" phase.

okay, so if there was any time in the phandom where there was serious tension between dannies and phillies it must've been during this time, right? because from recent discussions I know that there was a point where especially phil wasn't exactly treated the best but I don't know when that was. I feel like it would make sense here though.

anyway, at some point dan surpassed phil's subscribers and I genuinely don't know but I would assume that strengthened that dannie/phillie divide.

Again, I don't actually know when this happened (I would assume some time around 2013/14?) and I have absolutely no idea what the actual reaction people had to this was. but if I know anything about fandoms, this definitely must've stirred up...something. I don't know how obsessed the phandom was with numbers but even if it wasn't that bad, I can't imagine this happening completely without drama attached to it.

but one thing you need to know is that phil was always incredibly supportive of dan and the other way round, dan never talked shit about phil.

correct me if I'm wrong, maybe we simply don't talk about this time that much (with good reason) and I know dan said and wrote a lot of things that were very dismissive about some stuff etc. but in the clips and old posts I've seen he still emphasised that they were friends and didn't hate each other.

and thennn they started their bbc radio show, their joint channel, released a book, went on tour in 2015/16, basically they fully embraced their DanAndPhil brand. this was their peak in popularity and from what I've heard people say that joined the phandom at that time this dannie/phillie divide was basically gone by then because yeah, people liked their seperate things but what really made them blow up was the things they did together.

this is based on something I saw the other day. some people who I know joined the phandom around that time were talking about how they luckily never experienced that dan vs. phil mentality. that's why I wrote the things before this paragraph based on the assumption that the worst bit of the dannies vs phillies thing was before that era and kind of fizzled out by the time tatinof came around.

thennn the hiatus of the gaming channel, coming out (soulmates etc.), dan disappers from the internet (phil's just always there chilling btw). okay the most interesting part comes now, dan eventually writes a book and goes on tour. alone. now if we look at our hypothesis this would be the perfect reason for people to start disliking him, but not with them. phil goes behind dan's back to promote his book, before dan leaves on tour they make this video (https://youtu.be/2M2dF_21ANc) [edit: this is dilm in case you're wondering] where they keep talking about ohhh we've never apart for longer than to weeks oooh how will we cope blah, disgusting. dan makes a youtube series promoting the tour which phil is heavily involved with. and yeah, dan has this "I'm a strong independent dan" thing going on, but it's mostly part of his tour persona. (and also he did have to figure himself out for himself because he's been attached to phil since he was 18, so literally his whole adult life.)

I know some people disliked dystopia daily (which is valid but just for the record, I will defend her with my life) and I know some people generally didn't like/were disappointed with what dan was doing during that era. however. I know that's not representative of the whole phandom and I don't think (look at me assuming things again) those people truly hated dan for it but more like wished that things were different.

and then and then! after the tour nothing...until *drumroll* the gaming channel is back! aka, phil pushed dan to start making dapg videos again and dan's actually enjoying it. and they're fully embracing their DanAndPhil brand again. tl;dr I think the reason why this divide isn't there between them is [because of] how vocally and explicitly they support each other.

Daphne, aka Golly's and Angel's kid, is actually my bestie @bluethepearldiver 's OC! they're the AU coowner :] They also have Norm, who's Leshy's oldest kid, and two of Grimora's older kids (tho these are a WIP still to my knowledge) (Blue if you see this feel free to ramble about your fankids too and I'll reblog that bad boy)

SO FOR MY LITTLE BASTARDS THO

There's Zoey, the youngest of the kids (11-15 years old). She's in Lost Souls AU. She's Poe's daughter, dunno who the other parent is but that's not really important since Poe was a single parent. She's a little chaotic and keeps eating shit she probably shouldn't, but she grows out of it thankfully (she eats gummy worms now ("You won't let me eat the real ones so I have to resort to this")). She's just a little menace and I love her for it. She made Norm eat dirt on numerous occasions. Poe had to fight a long custody battle for her (because their parents are cunts) but they ultimately won it and now she's just living her best life with 5 loving parents and forcing her almost trice her age step-brother to eat mud :]

There's Cecil, he's Grimora's/Morana's youngest kid at 18-22 years old. He's in Lost Souls AU. She's been gone for most of his life but he very quickly re-bonds with her, he's a big mama's boy :] Also a filthy enabler to Zoey's antics, he often eggs Norm on along with her (god, save poor Norm). He's a big nerd and often infodumps about comics to his mum and step-parents (who obviously happily listen).

There's Oktawia, Leshy's/Lech's youngest at 23-27 years old. She's in Lost Souls AU. She sticks out like a sore thumb in her family as she's a well dressed young office lady, but despite appearances, she gets along with them very well. She's a trans lady too, and considering her older sibling is enby and dad is a he/they, they often joke that transgenderism runs in the family djfbfn. She also calls Norm "worm boy". No, I will not shut up about Norm being bullied by an 11-year-old girl into eating mud/earthworms.

Peony is my main fankid in H'sE-aligned AUs, but I've been toying with an idea of other fankids (notably Grimora x P03 and Magnificus x P03, but they're not developed yet).

Peony is the daughter of Leshy and P03 which makes her a half-forest-deity/half-human (P03 is a cyborg, but hid that fact because he did not want to unpack All That Trauma with the other scrybes). She's the result of a one time fling, that P03 managed to hide pretty well (and in one flavour of the AU straight up left before he even knew she existed). She was a premie, which added to her dad's worry, but soon enough he discovered that she does better around nature and Leshy so the moment she was able to be taken out of the incubator they moved her to Leshy's cabin (before that Leshy just borderline lived at the factory, he spent so much time with her). She's pretty much raised collectively by the scrybes, though obviously mostly taken care of by Leshy and P03. She's also a shapeshifter like Leshy and the moment Leshy mentioned P03 used to be a stoat she gave herself stoat ears and tail instead (which at first irked P03 a bit but he came to find it cute). She's just...a little cute ball of energy and I LOVE HER. She's adorable, I'd kill for her.

The scrybes have a total of 10 kids in that one AU where they're divorced and making it Luke's problem, but most of them are under construction. Two notable ones, that are yet to be named, are the bio kids of Magnificus and P03. They're twins and the second oldest right after Grimora's and Leshy's kid, and are both based on the Stim Mage card. The boy is just a straight-up stim mage, while his sister has a mix of that and a cowboy aesthetic (P03 has a thing for cowboys and she inherited that). She's still a mage, she just has a cowboy hat...and a gun. The guy is a very hot-tempered fella who loves to annoy Luke, the girl is just there for fun and is friendlier with the poor, poor immortal who's there against his will. She's very cheery but can and WILL beat your ass if provoked.

There are also a few other concepts; All of Leshy's kids have that forest deity vibe. Their oldest, Grimora's and Leshy's bio kid, is obviously themed around bugs, and even though they look a tad bit creepy they're also very graceful, heavy fairy vibes imo. Peony is also here, but she's got more of a jackalope look and is part of triplets; she's got two brothers, identical boys who have a stoat theme and are lovingly called "The Shitlings" by their siblings because they're a very mischievous duo. Grim's and P03's bio kid is a grave keeper and the straight man amongst his siblings (please, he's so tired), but they also built a bot together that's modelled after exeskeleton card. P03 and Mags also had a third child, which is a bot powered by mox. There are also Mags x Grim and Mags x Leshy kids but I don't have much of an idea for them yet, except the fact that the one with Leshy will have a wolf theme.

AMD FINALLY, The Triplets™. Damn, I need to finally come up with names for them, huh? Anyway, I did talk about them; they originated in the Factory Reset AU but I've been planning on adding them to some of my other Grim x P03 AUs like the Gods AU. They're all modelled on the exeskeletom card, are enby and have small differences between them but since only Grimora and P03 seem to tell them apart, they are colour coded for everybody's convenience. Also! Selectively mute, they only talk to their parents.

I've also been thinking about making a fankid for P03 and my OC but I dunno what to do with them yet

Omg i love talking about skz so thank you for asking! They have so many songs I absolutely love, but if I HAVE to pick the songs that really mean something to me hmmm

Firstly, Silent Cry.. I feel like that's pretty self explanatory haha. It's literally just like being heard. And even though obv they can't actually be with me it makes me feel soo understood.

Second, SLUMP eng ver! This was one of the first skz songs I heard and it really drew me to them. I was so stuck in my life and it felt like all my friends were moving forward except for me so this song really spoke to me.

Third, For You (Mixtape #3) this is such a hopeful song and it really reminds me to keep going and that it'll get better. Not to give up because as they say.. Blessings wait for youuu!

I'm gonna do one more song before this gets wayyyy too long.. If it isn't already oops!

Last one not entirely skz but Changbin ft Chan Streetlight. Oof this one hit me HARD and actually it still effects me now. I have a really hard time opening up to people or relying on anyone and I'd just never heard that struggle being talked about like changbin did. He so perfectly frames it.. Its like He doesn't glorify the idea of being "strong" for others, like a lot of people do instead he said "I don't have the courage to rely on others" or I need you to ask me again. It's so good I love it so much!!!

this is probably unbelievable but your picks are also the ones that i would put VERY high in my list (if there had to be such a list lmao cause tbh it's impossible to pick favs here😔), especially silent cry and streetlight too .. talking about streetlight, HOW DO U PUT IT SO WELL INTO WORDS i'm beyond amazed. that's exactly the feeling.. and the whole arrangement of the song which is so simple yet so powerful at the same time, i feel like the fact that it's changbin's voice delivering such message, it makes it even more powerful. cause his voice typically makes an impression of someone that's rather tough but the lyrics just go "ask me again if i'm okay, anybody" and it creates this sort of dissonance.. this feeling of paradox.. which in recent months i've been realizing more clearly that life is all about??

istg i could dissect every skz song under the scalpels of my mind for hours on end (what a weird metaphor coming through, didn't expect it myself 😅 lmao), it's like one of my fav things to do 🙄🥲

the track that got me completely into skz was 3racha's 42, and i'm saying this so surely bc i remember it very distinctly how i cried to that song for a good hour while repeating to myself how "i know i'll stay with them for a long time to come". at the time i was coming out of a very dark place mentally, and my intention to stay with stray kids for years to come was the thing about myself that i felt so sure about for the first time in my entire life?? like, that song broke me into pieces and i crumbled along with all the accumulated dirt in me, but then through the broken cracks finally some fresh air and light could enter.. this literally sounds so dramatic but there's no other way to express it 😭😭😭 it just IS dramatic like that for me when it comes to skz lmao. as you said too, i've never heard someone talk about such things/feelings in a song before???? and in kpop out of all places???? it felt so refreshing 🥺
