#basically yesterday night was chaharshanbe suri . which is a solar new yr tradition where we let go of the past suffering in our year #and like...start the new yr w fresh vigour . anyway so my friend was at the event and we were abt to leap over the fire #and she was like bro im im glad u blocked her (situationship) etc etc . and then. my phone started vibrating. and i look at it. and my f #friend looks at it. and its her. and were both like what the fuck?? i blocked her things r Over and anyway so i pick up the phone and shesl #acting like nothing happened (bc nothing DID happen for her) and she was like ohh ur doing chaharshanbe suri im not doing anything etc what #are ur new yr plans so i jusr .IDK WHY I DID THIS . but ig i didnt wanna come off as like lonely i said probably hanging out w family and #friends maybe reading poetry together . et cetera and she was like wait that sounds so fun why didnt u invite me!#LIKE WDYM YOUVE BEEN CONSISTENTLY MAKING IT CLEAR U DONT WANT TO BE IN MY PRESENCE . and i told her that after #everything i thought she didnt want to see me again and she was like you always think that 😐 . like. ?? ok anyway so she expects me to #invite her . and like. there is an above 0% but sub-5% chance she will actually show up . but the panic that gripped me #i started making calls to my friends asking them if they can come on the 23rd bc there must be an event and also i asked my mother #and she said actually yeah i am doing a thing on the 23rd :D it involves over 16 ppl (we live in a v small flat) of which like...7 are kids #so you wont have space to be in ur own room let alone invite others. which tbh like ...being around a bunch of loud kids doesnt seem fun fo #any of my friends or me etc so i thought maybe i should arrange things so that we all go out together and if she shows up she shows up 🤷‍♀️#but . im so. neurotypicals are so frustrating,, i keep forgetting that "can you do x" means "go do x"

#yesterday i was At Work #i opened alone (we are so fucking understaffed)#at like 945 (coworker came in at 10) these two women-#who until now have done NOTHING managery. they have walked around and talked to each other and asked questions #come up and in a pissy voice like um why hasn't group started #i say i'm the only one back here #'well can't you start ONE group?'#no...im the only one back here #'can you start individuals?' yeah i'll ask [host lead]#(annoyed voice) 'um why do you have to ask her?' because i'm not a lead so she's in charge?#(angry voice) well WE are GENERAL MANAGERS and we are TELLING YOU to do SOMETHING like START INDIVIDUALS #like. chill i am literally just some guy and i am the only guy back here #i also feel its worth noting that apparently since they caught me in the hallway they assumed i hadn't been doing anything #when in reality i hadnt sat down since i got to work. all i did was doing things. there is more to my job than Watch Dogs. especially when #im the only guy doing any of the anything #and i couldnt start individuals immediately because i had to do spot cleans. because i prioritized Not Letting Dogs Sit In Their Own Shit #before dog getting some playtime #like. yes i am a Lower Level Employee. yes i havent worked here that long. but i have worked here longer than you #and im gonna take a wild guess that i care about the dogs more than you #also worth noting that i got no breaks that day (if you work a 6+ hour shift you get a 30 and a 15 at my work)#so i sat down for a total of 5 minutes and that was to take a piss #for context. i worked 7 hours. 6:15am to 1:15pm.#so i have a Bad Feeling about these new general managers. really hope im wrong and this is a one-off thing but. ohhhhh boy

#this conversation was brought on cause my mother was flabbergasted to find out my breaks were unpaid and 10 mins long #like to the point where she said she was going to 'Look Into It'#because all of her 3-4 retail jobs gave her two 15 minute PAID breaks and a 45 minute lunch #and these were still some dogshit jobs. like walmart #but she did mention kohls here in ca only paid for your break if you stayed inside #so it was either get a paid break and stay in or get unpaid and go ouside and smoke #but coming back to wi they did paid smoke breaks

good GOD this trip. I have loved the scenery and the hikes we have been on, but my family is about to drive me bonkers.

#literally none of them are capable of making a single fucking decision without debating it for hours #and none of them communicate clearly so there is an insane amount of confusion #and we have done next to nothing because they cannot do anything in a reasonable time frame #like we were supposed to leave at 8:30 this morning and we didn't leave until 9:15 #and then we got to the hike spot and my mom lost her glasses and instead of checking under her fucking seat #we had to spend a good half hour looking for them... guess where they were #and then we spent 10 minutes debating if we were going to do the hike we had already Fucking PICKED #and then my mom passed out halfway through the hike which is not her fault and I'm not upset about at all #but we decided to not do the rest of the hike and instead go to the town and look at the artist shops #which was totally good with me except we got there and they all decided they didn't want to look at the shops!!!!!!!!!#yes they were mostly galleries of art we can't afford but they were cool to look at #but nope. spent idk an hour wandering around OUTSIDE THE STORES #we did get the best chai I've ever had tho at a little shop there DELICIOUS #and then they were like beginning the dinner debate and I decided I was fucking done #so I just picked a place and said we are eating here and called and made a reservation and told them to get in the fucking car #like I Get It. it can be hard to pick things but at some point SOMEONE has to make a choice #we can't stand around going 'idk whatever you want' 'i'm okay with anything' 'what did you say?' It was weird and kinda easy to forget. He was just as fast and had the same cockiness, but something in his eyes was different. But it was still Sonic.

Though he was older and that helped more than Tails wanted to admit. This new world was confusing and he was glad he wasn't completely on his own.

"Watcha thinkin' about lil' bro?" Sonic ran a hand through Tails' fur and ruffled his bangs.

He was really touchy too and truthfully, Tails didn't mind. His Sonic was his brother and a hero, well this one was too technically, but the most he normally got was a high five.

"Uhh, nothing big, but am I keeping you here?"

"I dunno, that sounds pretty big." Sonic countered. He found a spot behind his ears and Tails leaned forward, just a bit.

"I mean it. I know I haven't been here for too long, but you haven't gone anywhere and even your runs are short.

Sonic humed in agreement and Tails pulled away. This was serious and he needed all his brain for it.

"I know you don't like staying in one place and we've been here for days! Is your Eggman not planning anything new or something?"

Sonic froze, something in his eyes shifted, and it was the same unknown meaness that Tails knew from Westside Island. But Tails didn't look away because this was Sonic, or a version of him, and Tails had promised himself to always be by his side.

His thoughts scattered as Sonic pulled him into a side hug, a hand fiddling with a tail.

"You're safe Tails, don't even think about it. Especially not on him."

"Yea but..." Tails started, not sure where to go. That didn't make sense, Eggman wouldn't retire or something just like that.

"Drop it, Tails." Sonic snapped and the kit flinched, even though Sonic's hug was as nice as before.

Sonic sighed and crouched down to meet his eyes.

"Didn't mean to snap, lil' bro." He apologized. "But you don't have to worry about him anymore."

Sonic pulled him into a full hug, even wrapping his arms around his tails.

"And for me, I'm right where I'm meant to be."

There are two rules: One, Tails will always see Sonic in a positive light and knows he will never hurt him; and two, Sonic would burn the world for Tails.

i was so brave today (cooked dinner instead of ordering takeout)
