He is accurate within 10 seconds of 5am every day.#I think the Jiang disciples are most likely used to waking up around 6:00-7:00am #But the allure of having a guaranteed time keeper getting you up in the morning is worth the earlier hour.#I imagine they started outside lwj's door and slowly moved closer as the weeks went on.#Now LWJ has to cope with being way too warm in the night from all the extra body heat.#LWJ is not a fan of this but they scamper off immediately after he wakes up and they at least show initiative to follow routine.#NHS joins in only because he is a chronically heavy sleeper and needs this level of intervention to get up early.#His boldness would be a death sentence in the cloud recesses but here? Whole new game.#Yungmeng Jiang isn't a lawless land. It's just a land with different laws.#And one of those laws is to forcefully domesticate the catboy coded Lan boy through any means necessary.#Completely different tangent: I drew the thumbnail for this before I did comic 134. I then realized they had the same visual gag.#So I had to space this one out so it didn't seem like I repeated the waking up joke. Ok odd post but I gotta let people know since this is kinda wild. Yes yes, yes, Tales From The Gas Station, Clock is still hyperfixating after months. ANYWAYS, way back, years ago when I was into the series prior I was there for the "How Did We Get Here" ark. I still have art of tftgs from during that time that's up on this blog if you go back far enough.

I'm talking about the ark that was deleted, the one that became lost media, the draft versions of Volume 3.

im a die-hard Athos/Aramis truther 🙏 i also adore the whole thing Aramis and Madame de Chevreuse have going on, especially their fucked up little divorce in the last book, it's insane and i'm obsessed with it. I do also think Aramis and d'Artagnan are long overdue for some quality hatesex sesh! and none of these are mutually exclusive, the opposite actually. basically i live for and breathe the entire d'Artagnan/Athos/Aramis/Marie drama. it's everything to me <333

#the quote is a little bit silly but it adquires seriousness when you know everything that comes later #especially because it's hurrem's mother's quote from when she lived in ruthenia. when peace was possible. when she was going to marry leo #and had her future all planned. and there was stability #but the joke is suleyman's. after all becoming part of his family is what brings that ambiguity to the quote for hurrem's story #as it could be argued she never found true peace. at least for the most of her life #but also suleyman speaks in general terms here. so the quote can be extended to all the characters and in this episode of double joy it's #even more significant. because peace it's going to go sooner than later. and the signals of future ibratice problems are already there #and just as the birds are partly symbolic of that temporal peace and joy in love for hurrem the gifts the marriage gets are very important #as well #this episode is just gifts gifts gifts all around #suleyman's necklace for hatice has the tulips of the dynasty and it's something ibrahim himself recognizes could never give her #she says she's always going to have it w her. tho i don't remember seeing it too much in her tbh sdfy #in the other side ibrahim gets a lot of gifts. but the one that reminds him of his origin is his father's ofc. and he says he will always #have it with him as well. and later he gets suleyman's ring [i'm w haticehurrem. this totally looks like a subrahim wedding asfg]#which goes to remind us that he's now officially part of his family as well. he returned but he converted again. and THEN there's the table!#and taking away the politic alliance it could signify. it is venetian. his mother's heritage is there. in all the palace. and in the same #episode hurrem mentioned her mother's saying. the dynasty [or at least the most conservative side represented by ayse] it's unconfortable #the converts are not only winning more power and getting closer to the family. but they're also bringing their cultures & traditions to the #*ba dum tss* table #there's more to the whole return/convert and how it shows in the ibratice palace especially later w the statues but if i ever write about it #it deserves a post of its own ofc [and prolly someone that knows what they're talking about more than me lmao]#noo why did i write so much 😭 i should've done a separate post this is a mess to be under an already long picspam #anyways there's other significant gifts as the clock that musti likes or mahi's lucky charm for selim. and also the ones we already knew:#the ibratice gifts together 💝. and these contrast a lot with the rest because it's something of their own. when the couple was separated #from dynastic or even ibro's family. will they ever find peace again? we'll see it in the next episode [i'm lying]#maybe i should organize this in a post of its own #magnificent century #muhtesem yuzyil #mc1picspam4episode

I think I would need to reread the first book to really commit to this opinion but imo some of the horror of book!claudia is that she really is a terribly inhuman monster. she was a vampire child, so she never learned to be human. she was a vampire child so she'll never grow up and fulfill that potential. companionship is a necessity for her because she can't look after herself and that makes her bitter and disdainful of people who want love for its own sake, especially in the context of Louis and Lestat, who damned her to her current state to fulfill their own emotional needs. it's a stark contrast to show Claudia, who yes, is a vicious mass murdering vampire and has fun with it, but is otherwise a lonely woman who craves companionship and understanding because she's a person. Her beef with Louis is still about his failure to prioritize her and his assorted bad idea relationship choices but the undertones are so different and I really feel like the tragedy is that he didn't put her first and not that he could never have made her happy no matter what he chose.

#tbh i think claudia in the book is perfectly capable of love she's just furious all the time #but there's definitely a particular monstrosity/eatrangement from humanity #which in terms of the other vamps. lol maybe she's just honest!#howevvver #i say again u would not catch her getting love bombed into a theatre cult #she is simply not vulnerable to that particular trap #at the same time i think it honestly was about book claudia. at least more than it's about show claudia. she engineered a situation where #louis had to choose and he did! she had the opportunity to make up with lestat basically whenever and she didn't because she was furious #and unwilling to put up with him.#valid! but imo a much less desperate situation than claudia in the show #who is also i think dealing with a much more serious betrayal #like tell me if i'm wrong but book claudia clocks that he won't give them up without a fight from the get go #in kind of a game recognizes less competent game kind of way #whereas show claudia really thought she could show up and ask louis to leave with her. and if he agreed that would be that #and i think the violence she receives and witnesses in return is what really ruptures their relationship for good. she was mad about the #diaries and the boyfriend and the general state of her existence but unlike book! claudia i genuinely don't think she'd have tried to hurt #him if he hadn't done that. whereas book claudia would gut him for funsies #maybe even a little affectionately if he didn't make her too mad first. however it's lestat he was always going to make her mad moot point #god i love show claudia but book claudia really is an absolutely singular character i should reread just for her #either way always thinking about Her #press says iwtv #interview with the vampire #the vampire claudia

Im so mentally ill right now pls hand me my vitamin d pills i need to be fixed, i haven't felt sunlight upon my skin for a week and it's raining over the snow so it's all sloppy and slippery and dark out so i can't go anywhere without getting my feet soaked and my inlaws are asking me what i want for christmas like specifically which means i have to share my interests but i don't want to be perceived right now because I'm feeling the winter paranoia/madness and also i had to take the trashcan out yesterday and faceplanted in the snow and my glasses are all scratched up so i think im going to need new ones and if i want to go ANYWHERE i need to defrost my fucking car on the daily and i hate it. I hate winter i HATE IT. And i have an exam on friday as well as work and a christmas party to attend. I need to move to the forest and become one with nature, just leave society behind and live like Isak in Growth of the soil even though i fucking hate Knut Hansun, that nazi bitch.

#the only thing i have the energy for is apparently scouring ao3 for fics to read through my very specific search methods #and im reading stuff im NOT proud of at all (very cringe) so no im not giving any fic recs #i need the sun please god i miss the sun sooo much give it back aaaaaa #me in the summer: i miss it being dark at night i miss sleeping #me in the winter: i have deficiencies summer me could never understand #why did my ancestors (my danish grandmother and grandfather from bergen) decide to settle in the mental torture part of norway #i need to LEAVE im going INSANE i don't want to live like this #every season is its own kind of hell‚ the only semi good one is autumn and it's usually too short anyway‚ but if it's too long #it's as bad as winter because it gets dark without the snow to bring some kind of light to the day so you're just depressed #and then it gets icy but there's no snow so your car gets zero (NIL) grip on the road and then ur life flashes before ur eyes #abd spring gives you allergies and a low sun so you can't wven drive comfortably #and summer is too hot and it's bright all the time and like. it's FINE. im used to it. i just put up some decent curtains.#but it's disorienting and my internal clock is always completely and utterly fucked.#and i know im raving like a madman right now but i slept for like 13 hours and i have the mental clarity to know im going a little crazy #and i just need to get it out of my system

Wait i just saw your tags that your job is the "do list of tasks until complete then leave" type - what sort of job is it? Bc that sounds amazing tbh

I will say my job isn’t like this ALL the time…maybe like 50-60% of the time

I’m a “pottery operator” at a community art center—but essentially I’m the assistant to the main teacher. I also teach classes, but that’s only a few times a week. The rest of the time my boss gives me a check list of studio chores to do. She is often not there bc she owns her own gallery, so for example every Monday and Friday I spend the whole day just checking off tasks on a to-do list. Things like cleaning and organizing shelves and cupboards, loading kilns (which I LOVE to do, unironically), mix clay, prep clay and tools for lessons, etc etc… and then when I’m done, I can either “lesson plan” which is usually me looking at pintrist, writing a bit, or working on teacher samples to see how I would demo it (which is very fun to me) or I leave, because I get paid salary, so if the work is done I’m good

So basically it is literally the perfect job for me. The perfect mix of social interaction (and it’s usually with other artistic people), teaching (which I also love to do), and mentally and physically engaging but NOT back breaking menial tasks that I can just check off on a to-do list (and I usually listen to an audio book the whole time..)

So, like, a pretty niche kinda job I guess….but it’s seriously the perfect fit for me

#I also rlly like my boss. we vibe.#she’s older so she can’t do a lot of the physical studio chores anymore so I’m just like hey. give me a list and I’ll do it #so even when she is there I’m usually doin my thang by myself in the studio and she takes care of paper work stuff and emails #I teach classes too but it’s no where NEAR as much work at teaching at a public school. we have like 1 class a day (sometimes two)#like 2-3 times a week and we split that between us #like it is a GOOD gig . especially to me who is obsessed with all things ceramics and clay #it’s a good balance between menial tasks and teaching for me #public school was way too overwhelming for me #also this place gives me time to lesson plan ON THE CLOCK.. they actively say do not do work at home you don’t get paid for #they’re all about mental health and work-home balance #sorry this is probably way more info than u needed #but I’m still just geeked I even have this job. love it #also did I mention I get 45k a year for this on salary and good insurance and 401k #I make more than if I’d used my teaching license …

#happy easter clanker #for the past three days ive just been playing banjo kazooie for fun #ended originally with a time of 8:22:12 #but that changed when i wanted to try getting the stop n swop stuff for the first time on my copy of banjo #so the final time is 9:32:33 #i forgot how much i disliked rusty bucket bay. good lord that engine room and stinky bad water #every other level was fine. though i got so confused at first as to what jiggy i was missing in click clock woods #it was just the one on the branch at the very top of the tree. i wouldve never found it had i not looked it up #notes and honeycombs though? did those purely from memory #jiggies too i guess minus the single 1 out of 100 #which i think is better than what i was hoping to achieve playing without a guide #i didnt get all mumbo tokens though. i DID get the ones you could easily lose if done wrong though.#i need 7 more mumbo tokens basically to reach 100%#i was also very tempted to 100% gruntys furnace fun (i.e. all squares) but. at a point i was like ''hm. no lets not''#maybe someday. just not then.#i managed to blind guess a lot of grunty questions though #only talked to her sister like. once. and i didnt get any of those questions on the quiz #oh yknow whats fucked up? that one shortcut between rusty bucket bay and mad monster mansions puzzle #you cant break the gate for it if you raise the water level too high #also it took me until today to learn that CheatO's cheats are upgrades and not... cheats #fucked up. but i didnt have too much problems without it. <- he died to grunty once only cause he got knocked off the tower #anyway sorry for the strange photo quality. played on my n64 on an old crt ive had. and i only have a lamp on in my room.#its not as dark as it looks in the image atleast #i also learned that banjo kazooie has way more cheats than i ever knew about #before collecting all the stop n swop stuff. i gave myself the infinite air underwater cheat cause. god.#its so nice to swim around with any anxiety. mostly just used it to swim with clanker for a bit. :).#didnt need it for any other reasons. i done collected everything else girlies #though kid me used a lot of cheat codes in tooie. only because i had a magazine that had all the codes #i 100%'d that one a few years ago i think. jiggies atleast. i think.#anyway. :) clanker
