He levitated, just enough off the ground to keep his shoes from being scuffed, his robes  and cape from dragging across the concrete. This place was strange, liminal, it seemed to him. So many questions and so much research needed to find the answers. The majority of beings in the place being fur-less skin things was....odd, to him. He'd never seen such people and their prevalence here was shocking.

And so, of course his analytical eyes paid attention to anything unlike the others. Something pink and glittering, quite large given that it was, he assumed, some sort of precious gem. He approached it, only to see that it seemed to have a semblance of a face. He crouched and leaned forward, eclipsing it with his shadow to get a better look at it, turning his head this way and that, his brows furrowed in concentration.

It had been a long couple of days in this strange new place! Elminster had met people and creatures of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, and personalities. He was no stranger to the surreal- after all, nothing widens one's perspectives more than stepping out of your own plane of existence and wandering others like one would travel to other countries- but this one had been exceptionally taxing! It was as if this was not just a place for different creatures to come together, but also people from different times, different realms of existence entirely... to say that it was bizarre would be putting things mildly. Yet as he walked the bustling streets en route back to the room that seemed to belong to him, he couldn't help but continue to study each person and thing that he walked past. He had taken for granted just how much he missed the hustle and bustle of crowded cities like Waterdeep and Baldur's Gate, the many performers looking to make a touch of gold, peddlers with their goods, children making merry with the most common household items. But things were different here! People were different. El couldn't help but stroke his long white beard in contemplation. In making a realm where all people are unique, he thought to himself, It is as if the mundanity of society is in its very lack of mundanity! Curiouser and curiouser...

His thoughts were temporarily paused as he came across someone else that caught his eye- someone that looked even more extraordinary than those he'd seen before! Resplendent gems and shards reflected on this creature like an approachable golem, yet it was a moving, living thing! El tried to approach, peering down with an inquisitive (if not slightly overbearing) look. "How peculiar..."

◓ "Huh? What's wrong, Sprigatito?" There was a lot wrong. They were in an unfamiliar city that didn't seem to have any Pokémon at all. That much they had accepted and her partner had finally calmed down, but she was hissing at a rock now? Wait, that wasn't a normal rock, was it?

"It couldn't be. That's not a Pokémon, is it? I thought there weren't any in this city..." Maybe it was a monster that wasn't a Pokémon? If she'd had her Rotom Phone, she could have checked on her Pokédex app.

Huh, wait a minute.

Didn't he know this guy girl rock pokémon? Wang Yi stops to rub his eyes and squint. The next second he's slipping through the crowds and running to pick his ex-kidnapping victim up and spin her in a circle.

"Diancie!"

"When'd you get back? You're still as pink as last time, heh!"

"Oh! You're so pretty!" Reena couldn't help but stare with intrigue. She's never quite seen a fellow mon like this before! "What's someone like you doing all the way out here?"

"I've been meaning to ask you, Diancie…" Tsuru trails off for a moment, setting her teacup in its saucer as she turns her attention to inspect the crystals lining the other's head until her eyes fall on the jewel at its center. "You are royalty, aren't you? So should I be addressing you as Lady Diancie?" Now is as good a time as any to set the standard, seeing as she's gone out of her way to invite the princess to her home.

"I'd hate to be impolite, seeing as you must be of higher status than I am. Not that it matters here, mind you, but I do respect titles at least." And she respected Diancie enough to do her the courtesy.

it is not that he means to stare, per se, but the little creature has piqued his interest. rather than immediately approach, Gale took it as a type of...challenge, to see if he might deduce what it was. there were no shortage of magical beings back home, that was for sure, and he considered his own brain a veritable treasure trove of information about them, but this one remained a mystery. perhaps it was in everyone's best interest that his staring had alerted them of his presence, forcing him to start a conversation.

"Hello," he waves a little, "Deepest apologies for the staring-- I see now that it must come across as rude, indeed. It's just that I've never seen someone quite like you before."

He'd seen some really weird things, most of which had been after Meryl had dragged them into following Vash the Stampede, but honestly this takes the cake. There's a tiny little frilly pink thing on a rock he's apparently sharing living space with and it talks. And floats. Did he mention it floats?

Roberto blinks, green gaze utterly blank, and reaches into his coat pocket for his flask. A significant portion of the contents is summarily dumped into the cup of coffee he'd been holding when he'd heard a voice and looked down.

He takes a drink.

"I'm definitely not drunk enough for this place."

No long lost relative or something like that? ❞ spoken in jest, the similarities, in some degree, were an entertaining enough thought. between the size, ability to speak with humans, and even floating, it was interesting enough. to which it seemed this one had exhausted the limitation, now perched atop his shoulder as he strolls along, not exactly bothered in thanks to klee. ❝ Just playing around, of course. Teyvat has creatures similar, but you aren't quite alike in that regard. ❞

" Strange.....you don't belong to the creatures that inhabit this place, nor are you a demon." she sensed no demonic energy coming from the colorful being and kikyo was certain her eyes and senses were not betraying her. if such was the case, then what was this thing in front of her?

" Your name– do you have one?" being shown no ill-well, the priestess returns that in kind, her voice soft but curious as she bends one knee to rest against the snowy earth beneath her feet.

"My Melo found...THIS!" She held up a random rock, proudly. It wasn't a terrible rock, but it was rather lumpy. At least it wasn't a dirt clod or something. "...It's a pretty good gem right?" Someone teach this girl geology. Please.

◓ "Hello Diancie! Have you been well?" Since the Pokémon was the only one she'd met in the city and she could communicate, Liko had been making a point to visit her when she could. She usually brought things like snacks to her abode, and on this occasion she brought a small bag of cookies that she set down on a tiny table she brought. Sprigatito quickly took a spot.

But this time a third guest rolled out of Liko's hood. "Oh right! You haven't met Hatenna yet, have you?"

"Mii, mii, mii! (H-Hello...)" The Fairy-type lifted its hair on the sides in greeting. Diancie seemed to be calm, so she wasn't disturbed by any strong emotions.

Mirai was happily showing off his phone, tapping away and pulling up information about pokemon from back home. "I've learned a lot with it. Pokemon in Paldea could be a little different from ones I remembered, so it helped me figure things out..."
