MRA's love to claim that if women were in charge the world would go to shit bc we'd "get our periods and declare war," which is obviously a batshit insane, uneducated, and maximally misogynistic belief to begin with. I shouldn't have to tell you that our periods don't actually make us emotionally unstable, that in fact fewer than 20% of college-age women (women who aren't even old enough for the prefrontal cortex to finish developing, and thus are far from old enough to, for example, be eligible to run for US president) even report "severe" psychological symptoms of PMS - and this includes symptoms like depressed mood and anxiety.
in fact, PMS isn't even something all women experience. and of those who do, there's a huge variety of ways it can present. most symptoms women associate with PMS are not emotional: bloating, body soreness, headaches, oversleeping, food cravings, nausea/vomiting, hot flashes, breast tenderness....
from the article linked above: "Definitions of PMS and diagnostic criteria to identify cases have varied substantially over the years and across studies, in large part due to the heterogeneity of womenâs menstrual symptom experience. Over 150 symptoms have been associated with PMS."
overwhelmingly, research shows that the effect of PMS on women in the workplace is the same as that of any other medical problem/illness: some people miss some work if it's severe enough. which, considering that symptoms can often include various types of pain that can be quite severe, as well as common illness symptoms like nausea and vomiting, it makes perfect sense that some women would need to take a day off or leave a bit early at times. what the research does NOT say is that PMS causes women to behave in irrational ways that negatively impact the quality of her work.
so let's be truthful. why would female leaders mean more war when women and girls are so overwhelmingly and horrifically sexually victimized as a result?
if most women don't even experience severe mood symptoms with PMS, and having mood symptoms doesn't mean one is unable to control her actions/behaviors (I know this concept of self-control is foreign to most men, but we're pretty good at it!), and there's absolutely zero evidence to suggest that severe PMS mood symptoms would or could ever lead to declaring war, and women old enough to hold office in most countries have many years of experience managing their pre/peri-menstrual symptoms (if they even have any), and most world leaders are past the age women stop even having periods at all, and we see that women in other leadership positions are absolutely crushing it all over the world, and there IS significant evidence showing that women in numerous fields actually outperform male peers (despite feeling significantly less respected in higher-rank positions than males feel, as well as feeling more discouraged and frustrated) and are more emotionally intelligent, there IS evidence that women are less influenced by and better at regulating anger in the workplace, and there IS indisputable evidence that men are more violent than women in general, regardless of the reason, and there IS indisputable evidence that women and girls suffer mass victimization by men during wartime... then maybe, just maybe, women are actually less likely than men to start wars. but there's only one way to find out for sure đ
#most of the data supports female superiority if I'm honest...#like there's endless evidence of the bias against us EVERYWHERE#especially career wise in every field#and we aren't accommodated at all despite having different needs from men#in so many ways the world is built to boost men and hold us back#yet look at these links#women stay winning#mine#radblr#data tag#data#important info#reference#ref#hope for Women

Research Note 10 - Transition
I'm going through the stages of grief over my transition to this project. Into a research clinic! For people!... Well... Kinda.
I get it; they need someone who understands the mechanics of radiation and particle operations. But I'm not exactly qualified for this when my former applied knowledge was for systems QA. I know how to make bomb go boom, and all the little hardware and gizmos that put it all together so it go boom. And how to verify with x-rays and proton bombardment that it all works to go boom.
How, the hell, does that apply to this mess?
Well, per the transfer,
"(Deadname) is a perfect candidate for transfer. They have done well with the mechanical operations of [REDACTED] engineering. (Yes, on things that make LOTS of NEUTRONS quickly move in a VERY exaggerated way.)
They work extremely well with robotics and diagnostic engineers. (I guess this transfers to medical stuff, but like, sure whatever)
Additionally, they have a background of the study of radiation degradation. (I do not, I HAD to take some classes to work on these damn things)
We highly recommend their leadership ability and believe them to be the best candidate to manage the mechanical side of this project. (LOL WHAT?!)
We wish them well as they transition from the weapons systems division to the Genetic Nuclear Development division of EG&S."
HOW am I going to help some geneticists and molecular biologists? I'm not a Doctor of nuclear engineering! I'm some technician who became a department lead by working my ass off!
Like, I absolutely understand the mechanics of this, but to say I can lead the build team? Be the manager of a team of properly educated physicists, metallurgists, and robotics engineers?!
... Well, I always have wanted a challenge... And this "TheraSMD 335" thing is... pretty cool. I thought it was for repairing damage from like, radiological incidents. No, apparently, it's designed to work in tandem with gene therapy.
For species transition.
...
I thought that was all magic and alchemy. Hell, I thought it was a dream when I saw someone who was well transitioned. Just a Kobold walking past me. No big deal. Like... what?!
...
It would be nice to help people (beings, i guess?) instead of working on things that destroy them... Much better for my brain.
...
... I guess, if this goes well, it's not such a bad thing that I'm able to contribute. When I transitioned gender, I wanted to be able to do more to help the cause.
Maybe, this time I can?
...
I guess... this is a good transition. Probably the best for me.

On Defective Irkens
âIt is theorized that Tak may also be an Irken defect because-â
âSay guys do you think Skoodge is defective? He did a thing he wasnât told to do once do you suppose-â
âService Drone Bob's contempt for the Tallest is extremely abnormal, even for most defective IrkensâŚâ
âHints of the comms officer being a defective are seen when-â
Ohhh mauling the fan wiki writers grr biting biting thrashing and then turning around to the rest of you before Iâm done, you bet, for I have sat and listened for over 12 years of leaps and speculations of this sort and now Iâm now one of the ones who gets to have what the cool kids these days call a hot take on the matter.
By the end of this IâM going to bring up and expose who I actually think may be the only other defective Irken(s) in the show besides Zim, whom Iâm aghast I havenât seen anyone suggest before.
But before anything else, I want to front one preassumption center and loud.
It took me a long time to guess at why very few people can ever seem to get on the same page of what it actually means to call an Irken defective. Implicitly, the bulk of what we are given is that something can be wrong with a member of this species, and Zim is our prime and singular clear example of that. So thereâs a ton of trying to find patterns between Zimâs behavior and that of other Irken characters. Weirdly (to me), a lot of people have, in their efforts, chalked the status up to a sense of rebelliousness or insubordination- a defectiveness in the manner of D&D illithids, stomping out disloyal break-aways from the collective hive mind with punitive wrath. Donât get me wrong, itâs a cool concept, and itâs definitely closer to my opinion at least than the comparisons to real life mental disorders or disabilities. Not knocking the comfort or the enthusiasm, obviously.
From my view of the canon, I hope itâs at least apparent to other fans that âdefectiveâ isnât some empirical measurement or status to Irkens. Look at the way they determine the defects from normal society. IRL, if I have a faulty device on my hands, thereâs some way out there to tell me in a clear cut fashion if thereâs a problem and what exactly it is. If itâs code, it can be scanned and debugged. If itâs mechanical, something can be seen, fixed physically. Most organic health problems are only different in the complexity of the matter, but the entire purpose of medical research is to come close as we can to bridging that gap. In Irkâs people, that line is rapidly becoming one long smear of wet chalk. Iâm going on like this because if defective paks were akin to hardware actually being damaged, as Purple had put it, it doesnât make as much sense that they are neither âfixedâ nor given real, concrete diagnostics. The only way we know of that the aliens are tested in a since on this merit is by existence evaluations. And existence evaluations are anything but empirical, impartial events. Theyâre worlds more political and cultural than clinical.
Digest the terms we keep seeing all around the concept: Innocent, justice, trial/evaluation, Judgementia, these are terms of judicial courts and moral weight and sentencing. In effective practice,
Irk labels defects by what one does, not by what one is.
Yet, defection is presented as if thatâs not the case, and there are reasons for that. Reasons that reinforce the current power structures and promote what its leadership has decided is healthy for the broader society. When Zim was merely re-encoded from invader status to food service work, it was a more secluded evaluation, presumably done on Irk. His only seen witnesses then were the Tallests and the single control brain dishing the judgement. His existence evaluation, on the other hand, rings more similarly to the IRL historical practice of literal âshow trialsâ. Show trials were something that existed way less for the actual crimes of the accused and so much more for their audience, which, show trials are always for an audience. Three main points about them off the Wikipedia cuff:
⢠Typically, the defendant of such has already been determined to be guilty (oftentimes of completely fabricated transgressions), and the trial serves mostly to make a massive public spectacle and warning of the accused.
⢠They tend to focus on retributive punishment over correction. The disproportional brutality and lack of mercy is often the point.
⢠Their goals are propagandistic in nature, and thereâs many notable examples to be found in the history of Nazi Germany, the USSR, and in witch trials across the world (because it was never just Salem).
A formality? Well, that much they couldnât have more brazenly admitted to. Retribution? Thereâs hardly a more absolute punitive sentence I could craft up over obliteration PLUS Damnatio Memoariae. And as for the degree of spectacle, I will let you make your own observation here.
Believe it or not, the part where my comparisons along this line end with Existence Evaluations is that their standard for taking place isnât actually this cartoonishly oppressive one that some fans try to make it out to be. In âThe Trialâ, Zim was not having his data read for some binary is/is not determination⌠he was having his experiences and actions interpreted by how much damage he has done against the Armada. He said it himself, that hotseat is reserved for criminals. Likely outright traitors and maniacs. Those who have given cause to alert the brains to a genuine existential threat to their civilization and who have repeatedly failed every opportunity given to redeem themselves.
Defective doesnât just mean âdifferentâ to Irk. Weâve hardly seen an exploration of what the median Irken example even is, because the more we see of any one of these characters, the more they show us their eccentric uniqueness and will. Yes, Irkens are authoritarian; yes theyâre over-militarized; yes, theyâre a supremacist breed aligned under one ruling military⌠but listen, they are not literally The Borg, or illithids.
The biggest victims of this government itself are those races it colonizes. Average civilians on the other hand, they get to largely enjoy all the vices and pains and indulgences of hyper-space-capitalism. The height-ocracy may limit their opportunities, but even the lowest drones among them are supposedly hired into their positions in return for wages. Irkens are pretty selfish, but in a rugged individualism sense. Itâs a dystopia of atomization instead of collectivization. If everyone had agreed that âdefectiveâ had anything to do with arrogance, free will, or an ability to feel oneâs sense of self worth, no one would ever be pointing to Skoodgeďżź as a possible example. That guyâs the poster boy for what it means to be a âtoolâ in the derogatory sense. Iâm not forgetting that he technically never even left his job. He was fired and more or less forced into hiding, and heâs still not even that perturbed over the whole thing.
Moreover, it also takes some extreme acts of harm to justify such a trial. Real harm- not rebellious attitude or even disrespect to authority. The control brains and the tallests alone get to define that threshold, and neither Takâs/Zimâs insubordination nor Bobâs audacity concerned them enough for a ticket to Judgementia. In fact, they really donât seem that bothered at all by deserters and those that abandon their encoded function. Tak is likely to be merely the responsibility of her janitorial squadron, the same way that enforcing Zimâs banishment was the responsibility of his Frylord. Because Irk actually does have standards of justice and layers of bureaucracy to work within when it comes to dealing with true malice. Small fry problems are for the lower rungs of the ladder to handle, until they become a higher priority by necessity. Incompetency alone isnât a crime, either. The go-to punishment for failure in one function is demotion to a lower position. These are the only Irkens formally not allowed to change jobs, making what they do a kind of communal service or forced labor sentencing. Remember how Takâs motivation for leaving Dirt wasnât solely dissatisfaction with the grunt labor? Remember how she kept justifying her actions by the logic of fairness and setting things right? Not to mention how she fully made the Tallest aware of what she was up to and how her plan was well crafted enough to probably work out exactly like she wanted. Tak is utterly as loyal to the empire and competent as any invader. She was genuinely just dealt a shitty hand, and her response to it is at least understandable.
She even went to great lengths to identify and specifically target Zim and to use a planet that otherwise had less than no value to the armadaâs operations. She is a great foil to Zim, but I canât see how sheâs any bit defective, only full of rage that she was screwed over by the actions of a real disgrace to their species. Genuinely destructive cases like Zim are an incredible rarity. Such a rarity that I can only guess it took this long for him to go to Judgementia because his degree of dysfunction outright baffles the system. It also would appear that itâs an event of such significance that it can only be set into motion by the command of the ruling Tallest. By murdering a couple of them, and then being a clown show for a couple more, he inadvertently bought himself some time.
And the crazy thing to remember here is that Zim doesnât even understand that his actions are an existential threat to the Empire- that he IS a whole supervillain to his planet. This is how effective Irken programming and the education plugs are. Theyâre supposed to do 99% of the work of setting up the population, even the lowest drones, for not turning out like traitors to their kin in the first place. ALL of them grew up on a steady diet of the same drip-fed propaganda and essentialist ideology as their most militant soldiers. So I can see the logic behind the conclusion that the only explanation for criminals in their society must be outright brain damage or corrupted data⌠and Iâm not gonna lie I do openly headcanon that the latter case is exactly what happened to bad egg Zim.
The limits of only having the one example in him notwithstanding, Iâm anything but against theorizing about who else could be âworthyâ in the Irken sense to also stand before those brains, playing sweaty advocate for the worth of their continued existence and all. I just donât see it in Bob, or the Comms officer, or any other invader. Tak, there may be some hypothetical ramp to that end, in her future, but as things are right now, I only see a candidate that has become comfortable right in the control brainsâ biggest blind spot of all. See, eggs donât always have to crack in order to go bad. Sometimes, maybe they just spoil. Sometimes, I believe just the right conditions and time can turn them downright rotten.
Dramatic musical flourish, please.
I forget whoever said the quote âPower doesnât corrupt, It just exposes who people really areâ, but Iâm a huge fan of the fact that they did. In my opinion, itâs less about power itself and more about a complete lack of accountability that allows the weakest and most toxic seeds to really fester in a seat of authority. Indeed, we all know that there is something pathetic, and vapid, and cruel floating around The Massiveâs bridge. I am saying Iâd call Red ďżźdefective, but I couldnât be certain enough with myself to say that Purpleâs largely the one carrying a lot of fault. His greatest sin is his negligence and enabling his companion. whoever we can say shoulders more of the blame, they have been running this horror show as a joint unit, so they will both bear the guilt. Without a doubt, these two are terrible- popular maybe, but terrible leaders. Like, more responsible for the near ruin of their home world and species than I can even pin on Zim at this point. By almost every measure once you hold them up to Miyukiâs and Sporkâs barely few moments of would-be screen time, theyâre the worst Tallests for the Empire weâve ever known. Itâs too bad that they have no one over them we know of to flag them for an existence evaluation, because I am assured that ďżźthe real orchestrators of the Armada would be disgusted to look over their track records since they took power.
I mean, what can I remember just off the top of my head?
- Full awareness of Zimâs blackout-causing history before the beginning of Operation Impending Doom I and not keeping a close eye on him, removing him from his position, or keeping him away from the homeworldâs WoMDs
- Overseeing the shipment of faulty equipment to Invader Tenn (even if the packages had not been switched, the Megadoomer still had a potentially fatal flaw), and then presumably NOT giving her urgent guidance/assistance to avoid being captured by native hostiles
- Showing an egregious amount of immaturity and frivolity when making logistical decisions, such as the flight path of the Armada or how conquered planets are utilized
- Repeated abuses of their standing, trying to extra-judicially get rid of subjects over the pettiest reasons (if they had the formal authority to just vaporize Skoodge, Bob, OR Zim on the spot, they wouldnât need to come up with convoluted and indirect methods that they only hope kill said targets)
- Upon Zim returning to them from his banishment: not sending him back to Foodcourtia and not refusing to humor his wishes to larp as an invader
- Oh yeah, also granting Zim at least some invader tech and allowing him to leave Conventia in what I assume is a ship he could have only stolen
- Still not dealing with Zim with extreme prejudice in a timely fashion after the events of Backseat Drivers from Beyond the stars, or investigating enough to find out and deal with prisoner 777
- HAVING WAITED THROUGH ALL OF THE ABOVE BEFORE SENDING FOR ZIMâS EXISTENCE EVALUATION
- Spending the bulk of their reign so far dicking around in space and gorging themselves. Seriously, Red showed us one act of proactive competence⌠and it was in order to fix a mess that they allowed Zim to get them into. Not to mention, the Resisty got away from that scrap after thoroughly humiliating their flagship.
Red, and by extension, Purple, are the almighty, Tallest threats to the entire Irken project of galactic conquest, as much as Zim would have loved all the credit in the universe. By what theyâve done, and who they are. He might be damaged, but them? Thereâs some defective moral character if Iâve ever seen.

DIAGNOSTIC OLYMPICS, SEASON 1, EPISODES 1-5
Hi! I was curious about who on House (besides House) gets the most diagnoses right. Other folks have already run a tally (it's Chase), but I was curious how other factors would influence the tally â whose ideas get run with, who manages treatment, who screws up⌠So I thought I'd keep score.
1 point for getting the answer. This is almost always going to be House.
.5 points for Valuable Contribution â stuff that isn't the final answer, but either is thought to be the final answer or is valuable to the solving of the case. Stuff like "noticing something on the MRI" doesn't count; things like "figuring out how to treat" does.
-.5 to -1 for Mistakes â stuff that delays or prevents diagnoses, injuring or killing patients, etc.
PILOT
DIAGNOSES: Ham Worms
+1: HOUSE. Final diagnosis and most ideas. +.5: CHASE: Comes up with a way to prove the diagnoses and convince the patient to treat.
PATERNITY
DIAGNOSES: Brain Measles
+1: HOUSE. Final diagnosis. +.5: FOREMAN. Is the one to figure out how to treat the patient, twice, House deferring to him entirely with treating the measles. +0: CAMERON. Comes up with neurosyphilis, which is the only non-House diagnoses to get tested/treated (+.5). But also took a really bad history of the patient, missing that he was adopted and more significantly that he'd had recent head trauma. (-.5) BONUS POINTS: +5 to Chase for sheer asskissing. Sucks up to House in the differential (1), guesses what House wants to hear while looking at MRI results and guesses correctly based on House's response (2 and 3), later reads House again and decides there's a third option for treatment because House does (4), and lastly is the only one of the named cast who didn't bet against House on the patient's paternity. (5).
OCCAM'S RAZOR
DIAGNOSES: Pharmacy Error; gout medication.
+1 House, as ever in these early episodes. +.5 Foreman, impresses House and his idea is taken as correct in the differential. Also takes charge of Cameron and Chase and gets them to pull all-nighters doing testing. Leadership!
MATERNITY
DIAGNOSES: Echovirus.
+1 Team: there is no one eureka moment by one person, so everyone gets the win here. Individual merits: +.5 Chase: I'm giving him an extra half point: he suggests virus first, even if it's initially knocked down, and his suggestion of VSRA ends up being partially correct. He also spends most of the episode in NICU acting as the primary physician and keeping the babies alive. +.5 Foreman: Suggests Echovirus in the final brainstorming session. Doesn't count as a full point because it was brainstorming and not his only suggestion, but he still nailed it. -1 Cameron: Not a good episode for her. Fails to communicate with the parents, then fails to accurately explain the risks of treatment later. When their son dies, she also is unable to break the news, and tries to get Chase to do it (Wilson eventually does). Kind of a bad look. -1 Cuddy: She's scouring the hospital for sources of the illness, and misses the openly coughing and sick old lady handing out stuffed animals? I'd give her a pass if she wasn't actively looking for just that.
DAMNED IF YOU DO
DIAGNOSES: Copper allergy.
+.5 House: There's really not a lot of diagnosing in this episode: the nun is suffering an allergy, and House gets it in the first minute of the episode. I'm deducting points because I think this episode actually shows a downside to House's way of diagnosing: when she has unrelated symptoms, he immediately abandons allergy and jumps to what rare illness is it instead of trying to figure out other causes. He saw a zebra, not a horse. +.5 Cameron: She also suggests an allergy right away, although it's shot down and House calls her out later for not sticking her guns. RAT COUNT: Foreman is the first of the series, running to Cuddy and getting House kicked off the case because he disagrees with the diagnoses.
SOCRATIC METHOD
DIAGNOSES: Wilson's Disease
+1 Cameron: First non-House diagnoses, and it's Cameron suggesting Wilson's disease at the final differential! +.5 House: Unusually nice this episode, and he's the one who both took an interest in the patient and realized her psychosis was a symptom and not a diagnoses. +0 Chase: doesn't let it get in the way, but his insistence/dismissal of the patient as an alcoholic means he's pretty useless this episode. Doesn't screw anything up, but no points either. -.5 Foreman: Loses his temper with the patient and sedates her against House's direct orders, also affecting her mental state/clarity and ability to communicate. House lectures him, and if House thinks it's a screw up, who am I to argue?
Running tally:
HOUSE: 4 TEAM: 1 FOREMAN: 1 CHASE: 1 CAMERON: .5 CUDDY: -1

Can You Still Hear My Heart

A/N: My very first Gil Galad fic and I decided to go down the angst route.
Warnings: slight talk of death, major character's death, slight angst
Words: 1.4k
Synopsis: You contemplate the death of your husband with the visit of an old friend.
The seasons had changed, and the air shifted before the news came. Grey skies troubled overhead, threatening to erupt and scatter their unwanted rainfall upon the earth, and cast away any minute signs of sunshine. It felt like the darkness still won as it never stopped creeping into your heart, shattering any remaining fragments and discarding them around the world, impossible and out of reach. Where your heart travelled, you could not go; it would not allow you after the endless promises made.
There was a light sprinkled on the roof of the pavilion, you saw it rippling in the waters of the pond. The disturbance it created was no different from what your heart felt when it all began, the troublesome whispers and the shroud of trepidation. As your hair whipped gracefully around your face, you managed to find the strength to pull yourself together and attire your figure like the royalty you were trained to be. No matter how difficult things became, you had an image to uphold, a role to play and look. No amount of rain, sunshine, wind and darkness could defeat your majestic image. What would he say if he saw you withered like the flower who could not withstand the torrential rain?
âYour Majesty?â It was the soft and poetic voice of his Herald, Elrond. Ever young was the ellon with his sympathetic face reflecting the tears in your eyes. His face wanted to crack and shatter the façade he kept on for months, bringing you this news might be his final breaking point. You were like a caretaker to him during his days under the High Kingâs arms, seeing you, a substitute guardian so broken was unnatural. Your emotions could not be hidden from his kind eyes.
Lifting the cup of rose tea to your lips, you took a sip and kept your head afront, looking into the distance. âLord Elrond, how pleasant of you to come see me,â you greeted in a forced cheerful tone that resonated pain and emptiness. Elrond knew better than to ask you âhow were you fairing?â, even he wasnât fairing any better than you. Instead, he cautiously ascended the three steps and sat opposite you on the stone bench. His eyes fell on your sullen figure; eyes sunk in and hallow, lips pale and bruised with bloodstains from vigorous biting, hair dull and figure petite. You hadnât eaten a decent meal in the last two to three weeks he accessed or hydrated yourself properly. He didnât fail to see the wine bottles at your feet, hidden behind your robes.
âAre you finished making your diagnostics Lord Elrond? Are the results promising?â Your voice appeared intimidating, hating the scrutiny his eyes held as they your agonising figure; first your maids, now him.
Dropping his eyes to the table, he quickly mumbled a quiet apology. Taking a moment to gather his thoughts he looked at you once again and attempted to speak. âYou probably know why Iâm here Your Majesty?â
Scoffing and shaking your head cluelessly, you took another sip of your rose tea, nearly finishing the drink in one go. You had no patience to sip your tea with the etiquettes you were taught, they no longer mattered since your reign of leadership was over. You could return to the unbothered person you were before you met and fell in love. There wasnât a soul who could climb your mountains the way he did. Everyone else was obsessed with tearing it down and rebuilding it, but Ereinion was the one person who courageously climbed its steep slopes without a rope or an axe and braved the harsh weather conditions before arriving at its peaks. There wasnât a reason anymore to continue the path he left behind if he wasnât there to walk it with you.
âNo, I havenât the slightest clue Lord Elrond. Do share your reason of visit with me, Iâm curious to know.â You smiled forcibly. Elrond winced at the sarcasm dripping in your voice. The tones were worse than when you were delighted.
âYour MaâY/N,â he sighed and leaned forward to rest his elbows on his knees. âEreinion was dear to you as he was to me; I know the news of his death already arrived.â
âThen why have you come to deliver what I already know? Do you intend on pouring more salt in my wounds?â
Opening his mouth to respond, no words came out, only air. Elrondâs eyes couldnât reach yours, they fell to the floor shamelessly and remained there, staring at the grey stone. He felt guilt and grief; he understood your pain very well. It was a reflection of his amplified times twenty.
The wind had picked up its speed and blew a strong gust through the garden, increasing its speed as it passed through the pavilion. Your hair flew into your face, but you were too unbothered to care about the discomfort it brought. There was enough discomfort in your fragile heart to care about anything or anyone else besides yourself and the loss of your dead companion. Your bed was empty and cold, the palace was lonely; no amount of servants could bring life into the bleak halls, and your hands were neglected. You felt like you were alone in a stone manor with only four walls.
âYou know, theyâre asking me if youâre going to carry on the line. I told them youâre not going to, you donât want that burden,â you sorrowfully stated. It brought back memories of when you told Ereinion that being a King was burdensome and his life was constantly in danger. âYou would make a great King, Elrond. Ereinion, I andâŚthe others taught you well. Weâre not rushing you, but the offer still stands since Ereinion and I didnât have any descents of our own. I was never one for children.â You laughed with a bit more colour in your voice.
Your laughter made Elrondâs head snap in your direction causing his eyes to widen. You were smiling and laughing with a teaspoon of mirth, different from the rumours he heard from your servants. âWill youâŚWill you continue to stay here in Lindon, or will you accompany me to Imladris? There are many who are looking forward to seeing your face,â he whispered with an ounce of fear among the hope, unaware of whether his question would trigger, and shatter the moment.
Darting your eyes to observe the creatures at the pond, you noticed the frogs and dragonflies, the ducks waddling through the water with her ducklings, and the swans. They were Ereinionâs favourite pair since they were black swans. He considered them rare like the both of you with your undying love for one another.
âIt doesnât matter if I leave this world physically, I will never spiritually. I will forever be in your heart and everything you do, always. Know that I love you.â
His last words before he departed.
âDidâDid he at least have an honourable death as a High King?â you asked one last time, too fearful of the real answer.
Elrond knew that his friendâs death was more gruesome than honourable, but given your state of mind, a lie would save your heart from shattering and mead it a bit. Forcing the best realistic smile he could counter; he gave a soft laugh and grinned. âHis death was as noble as any other. He gave his life to save Middle Earth and to keep the love of his life safe and alive.â
Feeling your lips trembling at his words, you knew it was a lie, you already heard how he had died at the fiery hands of Sauron; you were touched that he would make his death sound noble. Even you had a hard time seeing how it was courageous and honourable. The intensity of your lips trembling grew before a tear rolled down. Breathing heavily while holding back the rest of the tears, you whispered almost breathlessly, âThank you Lord Elrond, but Iâll stay here a while longer before coming to Imladris. I still have unfinished conversations with Ereinion; I havenât poured my heart out enough for him.â
âUnderstood Your Majestyâapologies, Y/N.â Rising from his seated position, he dipped his head and extended his hand from his heart before making his way out of the pavilion and the gardens, leaving you with your thoughts. Elrond couldnât help but take one last look at your face as he departed and witness you completely breaking down in the pavilion.
Perhaps it was good that you were finally able to flush all your emotions out. Perhaps Elrondâs words were what you needed to remember your husband in a brighter light.

TOP GUN OCs Part 3 âď¸
-> Click here to see the other parts
â
Nurse Jordana "Echo" Walker đŠş
Callsign: Echo
Age: 38
Relationship status: Divorced, Single
Background: Jordana, known as "Echo," is a skilled medical doctor in the squadron. She earned her callsign due to her exceptional diagnostic skills and the ability to provide vital medical support during missions. Her father was a renowned military surgeon, which inspired her to pursue a career in medicine.
Personality: Compassionate, charming, level-headed, and dedicated to her patients' well-being.
Lifestyle: Echo leads a fulfilling life, both personally and professionally, and is committed to her role as a doctor.
Nicknames: Her colleagues often refer to her as "Jorâ or âJordanâ
Extra information: What she loves the most is getting get nails dirty and behind the wheel of a car or plane, ever since she was a child she was fancied by the way Navy pilots took the skies and feel like nothing even better once theyâre above the clouds. That feeling of watching the world spin around while your frozen to your seat in the air and the adrenaline you get afterwards. ďżź
She was flying for a while in the late 90sâearly 2000s, when she saw plenty of pilots become jet washed and she didnât like it one bit, hearing stories about plenty being injured on the job and not a lot of staff on board, so that resulted in her taking up a medical exam. A few short months later, she started working alongside nurses and doctors to help nurse pilots back to health. Which is where she met Captain Maverick Mitchell, as he was injured after flight testing and sent to the medical wing of the North Islands to get check up, he was charming and thanked her for cleaning up his wounds.
With a smile Jor told Mav, âYou gotta be more careful next time, Captain.â Maverick just grinned and nodding, saying heâll try to best more cautious even though sometimes tells him, he will be back in this medical wing a few short months later. And he was right, meeting Jor again as she was sewing his wounds near his eyebrow. That time, he brought a friend who got hurt with him. Wraith. So she had two patients to nurse back to health, thankfully they werenât that badly affected from the crash. Just a few cuts, bumps and bruises.
It didnât take long for Jor to meet the rest of the 86 crew members, as Hollywood, Wolfman and Slider would make appearances at the hospital along with their friends Iceman, Buzz, Valkyrie, Sunset and others. Sometimes it was for checkups, other times to see some of their friends at the clinic but sometimes they just liked hanging out with the staff. Mainly because they were good people.
Captain Apollo "Mack" McClearyđ
Callsign: Mack
Age: 42
Background: Mack, known simply as "Mack," is a control room operator. He earned his callsign due to his impeccable skills in managing communications and mission coordination. His precision and reliability make him an essential part of the squadron.
Personality: Analytical, total sweetheart, humorous, reliable, and a natural problem-solver.
Lifestyle: Mack has a steady and disciplined lifestyle, often working long hours in the control room.
Relationship Status: Mack is married to his high school sweetheart.
Nicknames: His colleagues affectionately call him "Mac."
Extra information: Apollo has been in the multiple square areas and has been working ever since he started back in 2005 in the Navy, wanting to be apart of Blue Angels and be behind the controls. He has always been one to have honest honor and respect towards everyone around him, putting his trust and thoughts into pilots he believes who can take the heat as he navigates them from the operations center. Such as Iceman, he would give all his attention and follow his leadership, as he stands back in the frontline of the control room sending up to the skies.
But it also gets him into a lot of trouble, due to him listening to Maverick during the Darkstar Project for Mach 10! Apollo knew it was supposed to be canceled that day, but a part of him though they gone so far into the process of making a jet that can go hypersonic it was worth a final flight according to Maverick. So Mack and his team got to quick work setting everything up in the control room launching Maverick into the air as he commuted with him from the ground reaching Mach 10âbut it cost him and Hondo in some trouble with Admiral Cain afterwards. Even though, Apollo got into some trouble he was secretly grinning due to the fact that they achieved that purpose for the project, running home to his high school sweetheart to tell them to the good news.
Afterwards, Hondo gave him a call telling Mack he would be sent to Top Gun to help manage communication and mission coordinations. He was humorous about the fact that he would be returning back to North Island. But he always knew that he would never have a bad reputation there, since one of his friends/lieutenants Fanboy Garcia and Payback Fitch would be sent out the same mission too. ďżźSo letâs just say things got interesting when he saw how The Dagger Squad decided to challenge Maverick, because Mack was waiting for every single one of them for their push-ups with a smirk.
Mack had his arms crossed and said, âIt was all shits and giggles, huh? Drop down and start giving me 10 then weâll raise it to 20.â All the Daggers glared at him, dropping down giving him 20 push ups as Hondo grinned counting them.
Naomi "Nova" Reynoldsđť
Callsign: Nova
Age: 28
Relationship Status: Single
Background: Naomi, known as "Nova," is a bartender who owns a popular bar near the naval base. Her callsign reflects her vibrant and outgoing personality, which lights up the atmosphere in her establishment. She serves as a source of support and encouragement for the Navy personnel and fighter pilots who frequent her bar.
Personality: Charismatic, welcoming, and known for her sense of humor.
Lifestyle: Nova enjoys a social and active lifestyle, always looking to bring joy to those around her. But she also sassy, knowledgeable due to being a bartender so she knows secrets, and loves karaoke.
Nicknames: She's often referred to as "No" by her regular customers. The women know the rules for the bar set by Penny Benjamin, so she doesnât have a problem telling people âNoâ, or âNo roughhousing, take it outside.â
Extra information: Naomi never really knew what she wanted to do in (still doesnât to be honest), as she always has dreams and aspirations for things but as time files so quickly it feels like those ideals werenât coming as fast as she wanted. As Naomi always said she wanted to be a writer, a musician of some kind finding herself making stories and music, then posting them on social media for some sort of attraction. One afternoon, at The Hard Deck she decided to take a chance singing on the small stage with her old guitar and caught a few eyes.
Penny, the owner of the bar saw how nice of an impression she made on the crowd and offered her a chance to sing whenever she wants. She even asked if she was open to working at the bar as well, Naomi didnât mind it at all and agreed to Pennyâs offer. Training under her and practicing bartending. And to be honest, Naomi loved it!
Working at The Hard Deck made her smile, let her have some fixable schedules since she had an active lifestyle and socialize with brand new people everyday. It resulted in her meeting some friends such as Lucky Kenner, who she already met before she started working there, and the rest of the Daggers. Anyone who walks into the bar, sheâs always the first one to greet them at the counter with a smile pouring drinks and taking orders. They would say sheâs a sight for sore eyesďżź with an encouraging enough smile.
Jeremy "Renegade" Turner đ
Callsign: Renegade
Age: 47
Background: Jeremy, known as "Renegade," grew up in a family with a military tradition. His father was a Navy pilot, and he followed in his footsteps. His callsign reflects his tendency to sometimes push boundaries and sometimes take unconventional approaches during missions, often against orders. Makes sense how he ended up with Maverick as a friend.
Personality: Adventurous, sarcastic and snarky, witty, a bit rebellious, and unafraid to take risks depending on the situation.
Lifestyle: Renegade is a single pilot who leads an adventurous and sometimes unpredictable life, as heâs always sent on missionary work to go undercover and investigate tasks for the Navy. Sometimes it makes him question his line of work and wonder whenâs retirement for him again.
Relationship Status: Single
Nicknames: His fellow aviators often call him "Ren" for short.
Extra information: Due to him messing around with Maverick and his gang so much, it makes wonder if he needs new friends, then he remembers Iceman and Wraith are there then he feels a little better. He thinks heâs sarcastic, stubborn as hell and snarky until he met Icemanâs wife Daredevil also known as Hazel, who nicknames him Hawkeye as a joke.
Ren has been working on and off duty for years, everytime he thinks heâs off the hook or thinking retirement is on his wayâBAM! Heâs given new duties to watch over new records and recruits for TOP GUN, which in his opinion ainât so bad. He actually liked the new fresh faced students at TOP GUN, being so young and spirited in the way they fly. Some are way cocky for their own good where they get in trouble with their superior officers ďżźmeanwhile others are trying to keep an low profile and just learn from their own actions.
Ren being well..Ren, always try to get under their skin and see what theyâre made of, in small manners. Like letâs say heâs talking to another person and a student is running in the halls, he tells them to not do that but they wonât listen. So in result, Ren would lean a foot outwards causing the student to trip and learn to not run in the hallway. âOops..i said watch where your going!â Ren said with a little smirk.
Sometimes Ren gets dragged into the craziness of Maverick Mitchell and the others plan. Such as when he was given the role to return to Top Gun as an independent counsel with Hondo and Hazel, having to watch over the team of returning recruits for the highly competitive mission. A few of them, he trained himself being their co-instructor years back, being Payback, Phoenix, Yale and Harvard. Even met Halo once during her classes.
Ren was in charge of being the one up in the far skies and taking notes of the crews flying skills, measuring their speeding length as they went along. Having everything ready for pre and landing as well! Like said beforehand, Ren has a tendency to not always follow orders and end up regularly regretting it later depending on what it is, pushing a few boundaries when it came to Admirals. So in result, he was the one to open the hard deck without Admiral Cycloneâs permission for Maverick to fly and even a few other things.

Justice
Terra, Sol system
3152
There were many things that Hadrian had disliked about the Republic of the Sphere.
In its early years, it had seemed like a beacon of shining hope for the galaxyâs future, a promise of justice, equality, fair leadership. For those brief, golden years, the future had seemed so bright.
Unfortunately, that didnât last long. When Exarch Levin had dissolved the senate, Hadrian had seethed in fury, unable to do anything as the fledgling hope for democracy in the Inner Sphere had died in flames, watching in horror as the Clans had descended like vultures to consume the carcass of the Galaxyâs best hope.
However, despite his distaste for the Republic in its later years, he would rather it ten to one over the new âStar Leagueâ. Despite their lofty namesake, Hadrian saw them for what they truly were: Thugs with big guns, who thought that just because they had the best âMechs and superior technology, the rest of the Sphere ought to be at their beck and call.
However, he had nowhere better to go, now that the galaxy's last and best hope was dead and gone. No matter where he went, He'd only ever find a new face for his overlords, a new color for the boot on his neck. At least, here on Terra, the technicians still had access to the republic documentation that detailed his creation.
However, if they didnât stop poking and prodding at him every time he came in for a tune-up, he was going to go ballistic.
âWill you quit that?â he asked, as one of the technicians examined the mechanisms that made up his right arm, admiring the workmanship that had gone into it. âThatâs my body, not some museum exhibit for you to play about with.â
With an annoyed huff, the man set the detached arm down, moving back to his assigned duty, which was recalibrating the servomotors of his hand.
âMajor Winters, I would ask that you be less curt with my staff,â the scientist-in-charge said. âYou are a technological marvel, and it is only natural that they are curious.â
Hadrian bit back a response, phantom signals racing through his mind to clench teeth in a jaw heâd lost decades ago. He stayed silent, tamping down his annoyance at probing fingers, at intrusive diagnostics, at the thousand other minor annoyances that rankled him as they worked. After all, they were the one thing keeping his body operational- it wouldn't do to piss them off.
An hour later, he left the facility, sensors registering a spike in heat as he stepped out of the artificial chill of the laboratory. With hesitance, he checked his daily schedule, so much busier since his promotion. Indeed, it seemed that today was planned to be just as full as yesterday, with meetings, inspections, and more paperwork than he could shake a stick at. One highlight of his day, however, was a lunch with Colleen, an old comrade and now a naval officer, working her way up the crew of one of the great big WarShips the orbital foundress seemed to churn out every week.
However, on his way to his office, shared with other officers of the 46th Battlemech Regiment, he encountered a commotion taking place in the open courtyard, which made the center of Fort Lewis-McCord.
The source of the disturbance seemed to be a cluster of Clan elementals, easily picked out due to their enormous stature, and several of Hadrianâs own men, of Charlie Company.
Hadrian sighed. Looked like he'd be late for that lunch with Colleen.
âStay in your lane, Stravag,â one of the elementals said, âOr I will put you back in it myself.â the warriorâs baritone timbre was like thunder, rumbling across the crowded space as Hadrian drew near.
âFuck off, you pod-born shitstain! Iâve got just as much a right to be here as you! I earned my way, wasnât designed to be a perfect little soldier boy by some cunt in a lab! If anyone should be kicking rocks, itâs you!â
In a flash, the elemental had the man by the collar, hoisting him in the air.
âCount yourself lucky that you are too pathetic for me to declare a batchall, scum. For I would break every bone in your body for the disrespect you show me.â
Just as quickly, Hadrian was in the middle, breaking the elementalâs grip and standing between the soldiers.
âWhat in the hell do you think you're doing?â He asked the two, looking back and forth between them.
âThis freeborn,â the elemental said, spitting the word like a curse. âhas disrespected me. It is my right to punish him.â
The former Republic pilot snarled at the Clan warrior. âLike hell! I'll rot in hell before I let this dumb fuck talk down to me like that!â
Ah, so that was the case. It was a common story in these days, The arrogant Clan warriors would try to push their supposed superiority on the Sphere mechwarriors, only to become enraged when the proud pilots didn't roll over and show their bellies. However, Hadrian had developed a foolproof technique for dealing with them.
With a quick jerk, he grabbed the warrior by the face, throwing him across the courtyard until he impacted the chowhalls's wall with a thud of cracking concrete.
He slunk closer, grabbing the elemental by the throat and pinning the giant above his head, tilting his head to look the man in the eye.
âI think you Clanners had ought to be taught a lesson. You think you have some innate right, simply because you're all designed in a lab, to impose your will on the rest of the world.â The claws on his left hand, wrapped around the man's throat, began to extend, the scraping sound of metal echoing in the suddenly silent courtyard. âI think it's time you learned what it's lIke to be weak. I think it's time you learned to be afraid.â
At the edge of the crowd, a couple of the elementalâs compatriots began to charge, until Hadrian's tail whipped out, wrapping around and drawing the blade kept at his hip. almost immediately, the Clan warriors became unsteady, As did the rest of the crowd, the vibrating blade tuned to a specific frequency to disrupt the human equilibrium.
âI wouldn't try it,â He said. âOr I'll paint the stones red with your little friend here.â
There were whispers in the crowd, now. Hushed voices muttered, words like âabominationâ, and âSavrashiâ spreading through the crowd, until the voice of Hadrian's superior officer broke through the din.
âMajor Winters, put that man down immediately!â He was short, for a clanner. An ex-Jade Falcon, embittered by their defeat in the IlClan trial, but still dedicated to Star League. âAnd report to Star Colonel Osis for disciplinary action. Sergeant Broadchurch, Point Commander Kevin, you're to report as well.â
With a sigh, Hadrian dropped the idiot elemental, leaving him gasping for breath. He'd gotten his point across, but it would have to be enough. Sending a quick message to Colleen to request a raincheck on their lunch, he sheathed his blade and began the trek to the Star Colonel's office.
There were many things that Hadrian disliked about the Republic, but it was still better than Star League.

Taking Time
Pairings: Ethan Ramsey x Victoria Clarke
Word Count: 1k
Summary: Victoria reflects on several first days
Rating: General Audiences
Category: Fluff
In the tiny bed sit in Boston, Victoria Clarke laid against her pillows, reflecting on her first shift at Edenbrook Hospital.
She was exhausted having been on her feet all day, her body aches and she was half falling asleep as soon as she crawled into bed. But here she was, the start of what she hoped would be a successful career.
Perhaps the most exciting part of all was getting to work along Ethan Ramsey, one of the greatest doctors of his generation. Victoria knew the man expected great things out of people. But she didnât realise how rude he could be.
Victoria hadnât even started her shift before she was in the deep end of action. However, she knew she couldnât leave the experienced doctor hanging. So she did as much as she could.
And she got no thanks for it.
Victoria may not be that experienced but she certainly wasnât stupid. She knew the basics and it would take time.
So to be berated before she had even fully begun her shift was unnecessary.
Victoria knew the expectations of a doctor, the sacrifices and hard work, it took a lot to become the best and it was work Victoria was willing to put in.
She knew she would be praised and criticised along the way. And she would took it on the chin. All of the comments would make her a better doctor. Getting feedback from Ethan Ramsey was something she should listen to and reflect on. He wants the best for his staff. He wants them to succeed.
Victoria turned away from the window, a small smile on her face.
Tomorrow would be a new day. A day where she could show her new colleagues just what she was made of.
Victoria dumped her bag on the floor with a loud sigh, she kicked her shoes off and collapsed onto her bed.
Her first day on the diagnostics team was over. And it was intense to say the least.
Working alongside some of the countryâs greatest doctors was an honour but Victoria couldnât help but feel a little out of place. They had years of experience compared to her. Victoria wondered if her opinion really mattered.
So when she was asked to attend a meal with the Governor of Massachusetts, Victoria knew she has clearly made a good impression. And her job was to keep the Governor happy. The youngest person at the table had the most important job of the night.
And according to everyone, she had passed with flying colours.
Victoria pulled out her phone and googled the Governor. She was a highly professional woman, someone who always dressed sharp and didnât take fools lightly. Victoria guessed that she was a hard woman to impress. Yet funnily enough, she was able to do just that with her own son.
And the reward was an eight course meal at one of the fanciest restaurants in Boston. But somehow, that wasnât the highlight of the evening. The minimal contact she had with Ethan was enough to make her heart flutter.
Strict boundaries were set between them. Whatever happened in the past had to stay there. They couldnât go back to what they had before. And for Victoria, it hurt.
But that was the past and she was determined to put it behind her and focus on the future. She had earned one of the most hotly anticipated spots on a team admired by doctors all across America.
She was ready to prove her place.
Victoria laid in bed as she heard the shower running in the en-suite, smiling to herself as she made out the faint line of Ethan in the reflection of the mirror. But she had even more reason to smile today. Her first full day as leader of the diagnostics team. It was pretty surreal.
She would never have guessed that she would be running this team. But with Ethan having taken over as Chief of Medicine, he decided that the leadership should be passed over to Victoria.
She considered it an honour to be leading the team. And she was going to do her best to make sure it excelled like it had under the last leader.
The door to the en-suite opened and Ethan stepped out, towel round his waist and hair dishevelled. âAre you okay?â He smiled.
âNever better.â Victoria smiled back. âI was just thinking about today.â
âOh yeah.â Ethan said. âWhat were you thinking about?â He pulled out the hairdryer.
âJust how surreal it is leading this team. All Iâve ever wanted is to do the best for our patients. Now I have a chance to do even greater things. Thereâs a lot riding on it.â
Ethan turned off the hairdryer. âI understand how you feel. I felt the same when I took over. You suddenly donât feel ready. But then I remember why I took the offer in the first place. Those before me trusted me. And if they had faith in me then I had faith in myself.â Ethan climbed into bed.
âThatâs a good way of looking at it. I just donât want to let anyone down.â Victoria replied.
Ethan wrapped his arms around Victoria. âYou could never let anyone down. You are an exceptionally talented doctor. Youâre ready for this moment.â He pressed a kiss to the side of her head.
âI just feel like I donât have a lot of experience.â Victoria sighed.
âYouâve had more than you realise. The cases you diagnosed were like no other and as strange as it may sound, the events with the Senator helped us discover a cure that we didnât have before. Youâve contributed so much that your are worthy of this position. I would never have offered it to you if I didnât think that you were ready.â Ethan smiled.
Victoria smiled up at him. âIt means a lot to hear you say that. I just hope I do you proud.â
âYou will Victoria.â Ethan pressed a kiss to her lips.
To have Ethanâs support meant the world to Victoria. If he had faith in her then she should have faith in herself too.
She was ready for this new challenge. And she would make everyone proud.
And she became one of the most respected diagnosticians in the country đ

Big question: After reading manhwhas, what do you think should be the qualities of being an Empress?
I mean you seem to have vast knowledge when it comes to historical manhwhas and you know the nuances of these kinds of stories
Sorry if this is confusing since it's hard question
leadership skills: assessing people, being able to assess the situation, empathy, charisma, recognizing potential, ability to deal with criticism, diplomacy, time management (set deadlines, single steps that have to be fulfilled by a certain date), ability to maintain an overview, to reduce narratives to the essentials, compromise and balance without betraying own values
foresight: keep track of the consequences of the events of your own decisions over the years, which results and which resistances you have to pay attention to
moral recognition
become a role model to the younger generations
promote the arts and culture -> strenghtens social cohesion
be able to communicate a vision
centering power into a collective centre of power
gain credibility by keeping promises, holding yourself accountable for your words and actions
just in rewarding and punishing
formulate clear unambiguous laws that are really enforced for all, must abide by these laws themselves
write a constitution, protect fundamental rights that even a state ruler cannot cross under any circumstances
highly educated (STEM subjects + foreign language & culture + social science, understanding regularities of social developments)
generalist, business management
tough on property crime as it destroys the entire social structure
free healthcare
implenting educational reforms: free of charge, availible to children from all classes and any ethnicity, banning corporal punishment
build schools, train teachers, get kids off the streets into homes
fighting corruption, corruption in higher education such as bribery, embezzlement, fraud, extortion, favoritism, nepotism etc. etc.
don't lower the level of education and make cheating easy, this is how you get doctors who make diagnostic errors, professional negligence and medical malpractice.
a good spy-network (secret service)
win the respect of the military. It is much harder as a female ruler in a patriarchial country. There are extreme ways such as participating in the war by yourself just like a male ruler would, symbolic participation, power through father or husband, impress through a brilliant military strategy during meetings while also listening to the advice of the elders or arranging a clever marriage to the commander of your army/ a powerful man respected by the military
keep the peace while maintaining the strength of the army. involve the army in disaster assistance, send military observers / elite groups to certain hot spots in the world so that they won't miss out on real war experience, military drills will never be a substitute for a fight between life and death
create sophisticated infrastructure: a vast network of roads, aqueduct (water supply), public baths, sewer system
has ideally lived a while among the commoners to understand the soul of the common people and their most urgent needs
alternatively travelled
forms connections and maintains relations with allied countries: marriage arrangements, warding of foreign noble children, gifts, military support, trade, academic exchange...
protects legacy: mentor the heir + create a safety net of trusted advisors + establish social institutions that are responsible for specific structural tasks and operate independently of private interests. So that what you have created in your lifetime will not be destroyed in another lifetime. For example if there happens to be a tyrant born into your family.
the final long-term goal should always be to get rid of the monarchy eventually

"hey clue miss me?!"
@second-chance-program
Like everyone else on the Grid, Clu had never heard the voice. So of course he didn't recognize it. And even given the words it said, he still would never have guessed the speaker's identity. He had barely known Anon before. User (he still had a hard time getting himself to say the name without expecting to be cruelly punished for it) had seen to that. And after Radia's death, he'd been grieving and the Occupation had slithered in and seized power from him. Any version of him Anon had met before was actually an Occupation member disguised as him. This was how the coup had been carried out.
Thankfully, after a hard fought battle against the leaders, the Occupation was in hiding and in the minority now, with Clu back in his rightful place as Admin, all his previously blocked functions and powers restored to him. And the Grid was much better off that way. The general population were happy, or at least satisfied with his leadership, as he was guaranteed to at least listen to every voice, and he tried to make things work well for ALL people on the Grid. He took a much more active role in its function, too being more aware of issues and working to fix them before they got more serious. And he spent more time out among his people, too, just existing as a person with them, sharing stories and laughs and celebrating things with them. Essentially, they considered him one of them. Which is exactly what he wanted.
Clu knew what Anon looked like, and he also knew Anon had died in a crash of some kind. And so, when he turned around, after returning a report with a smile to the Program who asked him to review it, and saw Anon standing there, he had to do a double take while also running every self diagnostic he could think of on himself. This couldn't be real, could it? Had his younger sibling somehow survived?
"A-Anon? I-Is that you?" The stunned Admin took a step closer to him, jaw dropping in shock. "But......how?"

Enterprises Explore These Advanced Analytics Use CasesÂ
Businesses want to use data-driven strategies, and advanced analytics solutions optimized for enterprise use cases make this possible. Analytical technology has come a long way, with new capabilities ranging from descriptive text analysis to big data. This post will describe different use cases for advanced enterprise analytics.Â
What is Advanced Enterprise Analytics?Â
Advanced enterprise analytics includes scalable statistical modeling tools that utilize multiple computing technologies to help multinational corporations extract insights from vast datasets. ProfessionalâŻdata analytics servicesâŻoffer enterprises industry-relevant advanced analytics solutions.Â
Modern descriptive and diagnostic analytics can revolutionize how companies leverage their historical performance intelligence. Likewise, predictive and prescriptive analytics allow enterprises to prepare for future challenges.Â
Conventional analysis methods had a limited scope and prioritized structured data processing. However, many advanced analytics examples quickly identify valuable trends in unstructured datasets. Therefore, global business firms can use advanced analytics solutions to process qualitative consumer reviews and brand-relatedâŻsocial media coverage.Â
Use Cases of Advanced Enterprise AnalyticsÂ
1| Big Data AnalyticsÂ
Modern analytical technologies have access to the latest hardware developments in cloud computing virtualization. Besides, data lakes or warehouses have become more common, increasing the capabilities of corporations to gather data from multiple sources.Â
Big data is a constantly increasing data volume containing mixed data types. It can comprise audio, video, images, and unique file formats. This dynamic makes it difficult for conventional data analytics services to extract insights for enterprise use cases, highlighting the importance ofâŻadvanced analytics solutions.Â
Advanced analytical techniques process big data efficiently. Besides, minimizing energy consumption and maintaining system stability during continuous data aggregation are two significant advantages of using advanced big data analytics.Â
2| Financial ForecastingÂ
Enterprises can raise funds using several financial instruments, but revenue remains vital to profit estimation. Corporate leadership is often curious about changes in cash flow across several business quarters. After all, reliable financial forecasting enables them to allocate a departmental budget through informed decision-making.Â
The variables impacting your financial forecasting models include changes in government policies, international treaties, consumer interests, investor sentiments, and the cost of running different business activities. Businesses always require industry-relevant tools to calculate these variables precisely.Â
Multivariate financial modeling is one of the enterprise-level examples of advanced analytics use cases. Corporations can also automate some components of economic feasibility modeling to minimize the duration of data processing and generate financial performance documents quickly.Â
3| Customer Sentiment AnalysisÂ
The customersâ emotions influence their purchasing habits and brand perception. Therefore, customer sentiment analysis predicts feelings and attitudes to help you improve your marketing materials and sales strategy. Data analytics services also provide enterprises with the tools necessary for customer sentiment analysis.Â
Advanced sentiment analytics solutions can evaluate descriptive consumer responses gathered during customer service and market research studies. So, you can understand the positive, negative, or neutral sentiments using qualitative data.Â
Negative sentiments often originate from poor customer service, product deficiencies, and consumer discomfort in using the products or services. Corporations must modify their offerings to minimize negative opinions. Doing so helps them decrease customer churn.Â
4| Productivity OptimizationÂ
Factory equipment requires a reasonable maintenance schedule to ensure that machines operate efficiently. Similarly, companies must offer recreation opportunities, holidays, and special-purpose leaves to protect the employeesâ psychological well-being and physical health.Â
However, these activities affect a companyâs productivity. Enterprise analytics solutions can help you use advanced scheduling tools and human resource intelligence to determine the optimal maintenance requirements. They also include other productivity optimization tools concerning business process innovation.Â
Advanced analytics examples involve identifying, modifying, and replacing inefficient organizational practices with more impactful workflows. Consider how outdated computing hardware or employee skill deficiencies affect your enterpriseâs productivity. Analytics lets you optimize these business aspects.Â
5| Enterprise Risk ManagementÂ
Risk management includes identifying, quantifying, and mitigating internal or external corporate risks to increase an organizationâs resilience against market fluctuations and legal changes. Moreover, improved risk assessments are the most widely implemented use cases of advanced enterprise analytics solutions.Â
Internal risks revolve around human errors, software incompatibilities, production issues, accountable leadership, and skill development. Lacking team coordination in multi-disciplinary projects is one example of internal risks.Â
External risks result from regulatory changes in the laws, guidelines, and frameworks that affect you and your suppliers. For example, changes in tax regulations or import-export tariffs might not affect you directly. However, your suppliers might raise prices, involving you in the end.Â
Data analytics services include advanced risk evaluations to help enterprises and investors understand how new market trends or policies affect their business activities.Â
ConclusionÂ
Enterprise analytics has many use cases where data enhances managementâs understanding of supply chain risks, consumer preferences, cost optimization, and employee productivity. Additionally, the advanced analytics solutions they offer their corporate clients assist them in financial forecasts.Â
New examples that integrate advanced analytics can also process mixed data types, including unstructured datasets. Furthermore, you can automate the process of insight extraction from the qualitative consumer responses collected in market research surveys.Â
While modern analytical modeling benefits enterprises in financial planning and business strategy, the reliability of the insights depends on data quality, and different data sources have unique authority levels. Therefore, you want experienced professionals who know how to ensure data integrity.Â
A leader in data analytics services, SG Analytics, empowers enterprises to optimize their business practices and acquire detailed industry insights using cutting-edge technologies.âŻContact us todayâŻto implement scalable data management modules to increase your competitive strength.Â
