✧A/N: Guys I wanted to write about older Reader and older Diluc, can you even blame me? Also, think of this as a palate cleanser after my previous work hehe

Sorry this took a while, the week has been busy and I had to put so much thought for this fic, wanted this to be great for you guys!

However none of those expectations included seeing the man who just had a one night stand right in front of you and is about to make a business partnership with you!

For most of your life as an adult you've spent your time focusing on your business. It was something you were determined to succeed in. Especially being born in the desert, there was only so much opportunity for you out there. So you worked hard for it all,  but such passions have their own sacrifices and setbacks. You have secured yourself financially and you do uphold good relationships with friends and family. However such good relationships are unsuccessful when it comes to your dating life. 

Back then you were dead set in solidifying your business, long hours in the office and sleepless nights. And this not only affected you but also the person you were dating, they said that there seems to be no place for them in your life. So time and time again, lover after lover, they all eventually left. 

After some time you realized that romantic relationships are simply not for you. You suppose it's for the best, this way no one gets hurt but yourself as you sink into that lonely feeling. 

Now that you're in your 40s there have been less people trying to approach you with romantic intent. Maybe it's because society has labeled you as some sort of ‘old hag’, someone who has already reached their ‘expiration date’ or something offensive like that. But that doesn't bother you that much, as you mature you realize that it's best to just enjoy the moment, to have fun one night stands with attractive strangers– so that for at least one night you'll feel the arms of another. 

Currently you are celebrating in Lambad’s Tavern with a few friends as you have just recently successfully launched a new branch in Inazuma City. Quite proud that your spice business has been growing especially fast– and soon it would reach Mondstadt’s lands since you also bagged yourself a potential business partner!

“A toast to our amazing friend, Y/N!” The clinking of glass and loud ‘Cheers’ Can be heard all around the table. You felt shy by their enthusiasm, it was so sweet that they're doing this for you. Kaveh takes a sip of his wine before speaking to you. “Honestly Y/n you're on a roll right now.” You laugh at that. “What's that supposed to mean?” “Oh come on! It's not easy to pull off a place there in Inazuma. They are way too strict with their transactions! And here you are settling one of your branches in Inazuma City no less.”

You playfully rolled your eyes. “You're making it sound like it was easy for me, I can assure you it wasn't. It was kind of a nightmare actually.” you sigh just thinking back at the months you've spent there in Inazuma, getting papers approved and other transactions necessary before you were given the go sign to start building the branch. 

Dehya took a swing of her drink and had a teasing smile on her face. “As if it wasn't obvious already, I will never forget that day you returned to Sumeru with the most god awful eye bags and ran into a pole on your way haha!” Deyha laughed out loud and you could only groan at the memory.

As if the fatigue from work wasn't enough already, the ride home was so rocky with the most atrocious weather to boot that it had your head spinning. Dehya was the first one to meet you once you docked at Port Ormos, she waved a hand at you when she saw your board down the ship. As you waved back at her you excitedly ran to her, you seemed to miss the light pole right in front of you. Dehya will never let you forget that day. 

“Yeah yeah whatever! Gods are you annoying.” Dehya lets out another laugh. After Nilou took a bite of her Samosa she looked at you with slight concern. “But about your health, I hope you did get the proper sleep you needed once you got home” You gave her a reassuring smile. “Of course I did, and anyways It wasn't a total nightmare there in Inazuma. After getting the go sign we went straight to building. There weren't any big problems along the way. Maybe because of a certain architect and his genius consultations and design.” You wink towards Kaveh’s direction. He left out a ‘pfft’ in disbelief by the compliment.

“Uh excuse me, the conversation was not about me, why don't we go back to running into poles or whatever.” Kaveh waved his hand in a dismissive way while taking a sip of his wine. A series of laughs follows and you just sit their mouth open and a hand to your chest, as if wounded by his diversion back to the embarrassing memory. 

By the corner of the tavern a certain gentleman had his eyes on you, his eyes glued to your direction even as the blue haired man in front of him kept yapping about how exquisite the wine was. “ It seems that you've mellowed down, Diluc.” Kaeya teases his brother as Diluc shifts his gaze away from you. “And what is that supposed to mean exactly?”

Kaeya grins towards his brother. “Oh nothing, it's just that you've never openly expressed such interest towards other ladies before. Look at you now, enchanted by her like a moth to a flame~” Kaeya turns behind him and stares at you. You continue to laugh with your friends, never noticing the two gentlemen. 

“Why don't you speak to the lovely lady when you have the chance, yeah? After all, we will be off to Mondstadt by tomorrow evening.”

By the end of the night you all had your fill of wine and food. As per usual Kaveh drank way past his limit, he even started mumbling gibberish while he walked as if he had two left feet. Nilou and Dehya insisted on being in charge of taking Kaveh back home, saying something in the lines of it was their duty at this point to drag him back to Al Haitham. As you waved goodbye to your friends, with Kaveh in the middle and his hands on both Dehya and Nilou’s shoulders, he lifted his head up and said his goodbye to you, his words slurred. 

You giggled at the sight and watched as they slowly walked away farther from you and the tavern. Once they were completely gone you sighed in contentment and turned behind you where the scenery of the forest was. It was already late at night so the streets weren't full of people anymore, but that's good since all you want right now is to bask in the ambiance. Shops were already closing up, boats docked as they sway lighty to the wind, and the stars seem to shine brighter than usual. 

Back when you were younger you would have never imagined seeing such a beautiful sight, thinking that only the familiar sight of sand would greet you everyday of your life. By the distance you see a couple walking together by the dock, they seem helpless in love, as if too busy in their own worlds to bother with anything else. A twinge of envy rises within you, but you try your best to push it away. After all, who would want that? Haven't you learned your lesson already, that kind of relationship just isn't for you…

“It really is beautiful here, isn't it?” 

Tall, dark, and handsome was not what you expected when you turned your head. The man has the most gorgeous pair of eyes, his tied up hair cascading elegantly down his back, a stubble adorned his face, while his posture held confidence. He looked like he was around your age. His eyes never left the scenery even when you looked at him, you simply smiled politely as you gazed back at the scenery. “Yeah it really is, I love Sumeru especially at this hour.” The wind was slowly picking up, making your hair sway with the wind.

The gentleman turns to you with a pleasant smile, he reaches out his gloved hand towards you. “Diluc, and you are?” ‘Diluc’? Huh, familiarity rings at the name. You reached your hand out as well and shook hands with Diluc. “Y/N, a pleasure to know you're at least not impolite.” You jest at him, he chuckles in response. “Well, I do hope I maintain a good impression.” “Oh? And why is that?” “Well…” He trails off his sentence and brings your hand close to his lips, he gives your hand a light kiss. His red eyes shifted towards you. “Let's say I simply want to enchant this one lady that has caught my eye.” 

Heat starts to slowly creep into your cheeks while a tingling sensation can be felt all throughout your hand, the hand that Diluc so delicately kissed. 

Just then a couple started running past both of you and you immediately removed yourselves from another. You looked away from one another in embarrassment and behind both of you heard the couple passing by. “Come on! The theater is at its high right now, we can't miss it!” “Haha right behind you dear!” as their footsteps and voices faded farther Diluc and you just stood there in silence, a little embarrassed and unsure. 

Just then an idea and just a bit of courage emerged within you. “Say, would you mind accompanying me to Zubayr Theater?” You were a bit hesitant to ask him, but for some reason there was just something pushing you to spend a little more time with Diluc. The red head seems to light this idea and his eyes shine a little. He offers his arm to you, to hook your arm with his. “Shall we?” You are more than happy to take the offer as you wrap your arm with his, the familiar warmth coming back to you again. 

As you both entered Zubayr Theater, you were greeted with colorful lights and laughter all around. Children and elderly alike were dancing and feasting on delicacies. And by the huge stage was a band that was playing all sorts of instruments while they maintained a lively beat that people can dance to. You begin to have a rush of excitement and unbeknownst to you, Diluc can see your eyes sparkling in elation. He directed his hand to the center where the people were dancing. “Would you care for a dance?” You looked at him. “You know Sumeru dances?” “Well, it's only due to a certain dancer that I learned how to conduct these dances. So, shall we?” Without hesitation you nodded enthusiastically and pulled Diluc to dance. 

And he stays true to his word, he dances to the beat of the music and syncs with you perfectly. As he twirls you around you can't help but be a little more charmed by this man, your hands were on one another for many hours as you both laughed heartily. This feeling of excitement and joy towards an individual was one you haven't felt in a while...it felt so foreign, yet not unwelcomed. Usually you'd spend your time like this towards someone you considered as your lover, and yet here you are treating this complete stranger with your guard down. 

After some dancing you enjoyed some snacks at nearby stalls, while eating you both converse a little more, telling some stories any of you may have. You found out that Diluc is from Mondstadt and back in his younger days he used to be in the Knights of Favonious as a Cavalry Captain. And you on the other hand told tales of your childhood back in the desert and some trials you have faced. While speaking you didn't notice the way Diluc would look and listen to you attentively, making sure that while you speak he has his full attention on you. 

There were even stalls nearby with fun games, Diluc was exceptionally good when it came to darts, he was able to hit the target successfully and gave you the prize which is a cute Aranara plushie.

At some point you found yourselves back at the docks of Sumeru City. Both of you sat on the wooden planks while you removed your shoes, dunking your feet in the water. Only the sounds of buzzing from insects can be heard as you and Diluc bask in the comforting silence and the presence of one another. The way the wind catches your hair, the lovely smile you wore, and how the moonlight seems to accentuate your features. He is completely captivated by you. “About what you said a while ago…” You start as Diluc looks at you. “Which part? I believe I said too many things during our time together.” He chuckles. “About being interested in me, I don't think you should waste anymore energy on me.” “And who said anything about this being a waste of energy?” He was quick to reply back but you only looked down at your hands. You smiled bitterly. “I’m sure there are many beautiful young ladies out there worth your while.” “Well I have the perfect candidate right here.” “I’m not young, Diluc.”

Words seem to be stuck in your throat after he said that. It was unfair that he was saying all this, making you feel happy and special and for what? Diluc observes your face a little more, checking to see if this was okay for you, if in any way there was a reason that he should be falling back right now and apologize– but no, there wasn't. You seem to want him just as much as he wants you. 

Slowly he inches closer to you, the tips of your lips practically feeling the heat already. And as he closes the distance between you two, you finally share a tender kiss. Not only that but how would I have known if you were alright? Did I hurt you anywhere or if you were okay mentally? ”

Your hand forms a fist as you clenched down hard. “You didn't have to worry all that, what we had was a simple one night stand Diluc.” “Was it really just that?” “Yes, it was. We left that room satisfied and that's all that matters.” “That's bullshit and you know it.” “It's not, and anyways why are we talking about this? None of this matters!”

I can't quite understand myself, but all I know is that I don't want to be hurt anymore ‘Luc. Heh kind of ironic isn't it?” Diluc furrowed his eyebrows at that. “Well I’m not here to hurt you, please give me a chance…give us a chance.” His hands rest comfortably on your waists, but this just gives more proof on how compatible you two are. It just felt so right that he's here. 

You sigh before you smile back at Diluc and pounce toward him, you land your lips on his happily. This came as a surprise for Diluc, but it was a surprise  most welcome. He sighs from the kiss and wraps his arms on your waists tighter, keeping you as close as he can.

Did you find me..?” “Sadly no, however I did have your name investigated as soon as I settled down here.” You slapped Diluc’s shoulder playfully. “Ew you investigated me? Creep.” You laugh as he looks at you, as if offended. “Well excuse me that I couldn't find you, my mystery girl just suddenly disappeared without a trace after spending the most wonderful night with me!” “Okay you sap, what happened next?” Diluc simply smiles as he continues. 

“I brought it up to Kaeya and that bastard simply grinned, he told me that your business was the perfect candidate he deemed worthy for Dawn Winery. I never anticipated he chose you as Dawn Windery’s supplier, after all there were so many in Sumeru and not only that but Kaeya never revealed to me your name early on, he said to just trust his choices and forced me to drink with him…” 

“Huh a sly one that one is…but perhaps we should thank him?” “Perhaps, but first..” Diluc suddenly picks you up and carries you with both his arms. “We have some unfinished business, why don't we head inside Miss Y/N, hm?”

entering the room, your eyes lay upon the back of two familiar-looking individuals.

“for fucks sake yn, get your phone.” tighnari scolded you. “it’s been barely a minute since we sat down and you’re already on your phone… please have some control.” 

“i’m sorry nari, i was texting kuni about-” “of course you were,” he laughed. he knew that you and scaramouche had a close relationship, in fact, most if not all of liyue knows. 

“yn! nari!” you two hear a voice. “dehya! we’re glad you’re here! come sit beside us.” “so yn, what’s the plan with al haitham and kaveh?” deyha asked you, smiling. “i think i’m going to just walk up to them and say “hi” you know?” “sounds about right. they’re right over there, go do it right now!” tighnari and dehya pushed you off your chair, making you stand up and walk towards the two. 

you took a big breath in and then went towards them. “hey pretty boy,” you said tapping kaveh’s shoulder and grinning. “sorry i’m- yn??” “the one and only” “oh my god YN!! i missed you so much holy shit, it’s actually you.” kaveh exclaimed, pulling you two a big hug. “i missed you too kaveh… i’ve never imagined that you’d be the type of person to grow your hair out- is that haitham beside you?” 

“oh yeah that’s him. wait give me a second, he’s wearing noise-cancelling earbuds.” kaveh tapped on al haitham and then pointed at you. he shrugged and took out his earbuds. “i’m sorry, do i know you?” he asked cocking an eyebrow. “haitham it’s literally yn. you know like the one we were talking about-” “nice to meet you, yn. have we met before?” al haitham said, cutting kaveh off. 

you were shocked. does al haitham really not remember you? maybe he has bad memory…? “ahem, anyways, yn. i’ll bring you back to your table.” kaveh said, interrupting your thoughts. 

“i’m so sorry about him, yn. listen i think he’s just having a “bad memory moment” or something. it happens a lot when he takes my keys.” kaveh sighed, walking you back to your seat. “no it’s fine! i understand. like two years is long, isn’t it?” “yeah it is, but not enough to forget you… by the way, could i have your number- haha i mean like only if you’re comfortable. i wouldn’t want to-” “kaveh, of course, you can! here, i’ll write it down for you.”

Coffee au - Cyno x reader

February 14, Valentine's day..

The worst day of the year if you were to say it yourself. It's the day when the coffee shop you worked at was full of couples who just couldn’t respect the fact that there were singles in this world too. You always happened to work on this day somehow. The thought of love disgusted you very much. Love was not something for you and that was something you always told yourself. You didn’t have the time or the energy to find someone to love right now. Life was just simple and boring and you would like to keep it that way.

… Or that's what you thought before a young white-haired guy walked through the door with the most serious expression you had ever seen. Could someone look so serious and intimidating at the same time? His crimson eyes shone as he walked to the front counter. 

You gulped a little and walked to the cash register and welcomed him to the shop.

"Good morning sir. What can I get for you this wonderful and lovely day?" you hated the sound of the cheesy introduction, but it's what your boss told you to say to every customer.

"Good morning. I want a Ben de Tia shot with hazelnut, vanilla, almond, extra whip caramel sauce, mocha sauce, rumba chocolate chip cream, Frappuccino with 5 shots of coffee, and top it off with some fruits and yogurt” he said thoughtfully. 

You froze at your place and stared at him. It was hard to tell if your mind played you some tricks or if your ears were stuffed with wax to the point where you heard something wrong. This had to be the longest and most complicated order you had ever got. Was this stoic guy on some good drugs or what was the issue?

The lack of response and movement from you annoyed him a little bit. He raised an eyebrow at you and crossed his arms. "What’s wrong? Something on my face?" 

You flinched and coughed as an excuse. "No! Your order will be $6,29, sir" you looked down at the cash register and typed in his order with a red blush. How embarrassing...

He took his card out and paid for his order. You took the receipt and walked away to make this strange order. Soon you came to the coffee machine and picked out a cup for him. The order was too complicated to remember, so you picked up his receipt and followed every ingredient. When you were done you gave it to him with a small smile. "Hope it tastes good! Have a nice day and come back soon!" 

He didn't spare you a single glance nor did he answer you. The white-haired guy just turned around and left the shop. What a strange guy...

The rest of your day was spent pretending to be this happy cashier who made people’s orders and cleaned after every table was used. You couldn’t escape this day, it was your destiny to stay with all these couples until late at night.

After closing the cafe, you came home and threw yourself in bed with a satisfied sigh. Finally, the annoying day was over and you could sleep until tomorrow night if you wanted to. Your cat jumped up beside you and purred as it stroke its head against your arm. You opened your eyes and smiled. “Hello little one, missed me so much today?” You raised your hand and scratched it behind its ear in silence. The little smile that was visible on your lips disappeared as you looked at the cat. “Happy Valentine’s day.. I guess” 

You don’t remember when or how you fell asleep, but suddenly you were woken up by your ringing phone. Who dared to call you this early in the morning? 

Turning around to your phone you picked it up and looked at the time. The digital number showed 08:10 am. Your gaze then wandered to the name on the screen and it read Deyha. Why was she calling you this early in the morning? 

You pressed the green button and put the phone to your ear. Before you had the chance to say anything you heard her voice on the other side of the phone. “You will never believe what just happened!”

Your eyes closed automatically and you grimaced at how loud she was. “Please don’t scream in my ear this early in the morning! What happened at eight in the fucking morning so you have to call me and disturb my beauty sleep?” 

“A white-haired guy came in and ordered the most complicated drink ever! When I made it to him he tasted it and made a disgusting grimace! Like can you believe it?

Then he stared at me intensely.. It felt like he wanted to kill me right on the spot! After that, he mumbled something like “It’s not like how that person made it” and then he walked out of the cafe while looking mad! You worked yesterday so he must be talking about you! Do you know this guy?”

You sat up surprised, scaring the cat that slept beside you. It was that guy from yesterday! Why did he come back on a Saturday to get coffee this early? 

“Uh, yeah I worked yesterday and I might know who you’re talking about, but it’s not what you think it is Deyha! I don’t know the guy at all. He came yesterday and ordered the same coffee he did today and then he paid and left” you explained seriously. 

“mh-hm..” was all she said, and you could hear her big grin on her face on the other end. Of course, she thought that you were lying. Deyha and her girlfriend Candace have been trying to get you together with a boy ever since you started studying in the akademiya.

“Well well, looks like my best friend has an admirer. You better not let him down and cover for me these days” she laughed, making you roll your eyes. Deyha always found reasons to make you get out of your room and socialize with people. Another reason to cover for her was to cuddle with Candace, real annoying if you say it yourself. 

After talking back and forth, Deyha excused herself by saying that she had to get back to work. Before you could even complain she hung up and you were left staring at your background on the phone. 

With a sigh, you got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. There was no reason for you to go back to sleep again since Deyha had already woken you up, but what could you do on a Saturday when you were home alone? Maybe you could call your friend over and study for the upcoming exam, or you could get dressed and join Deyha in the cafe. 

Deciding to keep Deyha company you got dressed and made your way to the kitchen where you gave your cat some food and fresh water. You walk to your hall and put on some shoes before going to the cafe. It was a 10-minute walk from your apartment building, making it easy to go home on your breaks. 

 Like you had thought Deyha was happy to see you in the cafe. You sat with her at the front counter and let her work whenever a new customer came by to buy a coffee or sandwiches. “Tell me then, who is this guy?” 

You turned your head towards her surprised, “Deyha I already told you! He’s a customer who came in yesterday and asked for the coffee you made. I made it for him and he left after paying.” 

She looked at you and it was like she looked for signs of you lying, but she gave up with a sigh. “Well, we know that he’s liking the coffee you made. That means another happy customer” she smiled at you before wiping the front counter. You watched her wipe all the dust and coffee crumbs. 

“but there’s something about him..” 

Deyha stopped in her tracks and looked at you with a wide grin. You knew that she was hoping for you to admit having a little crush on him but it never came. “I don’t know how to explain it but it feels like I know him from somewhere. Is he going to our school or is he maybe my neighbor?” 

Deyha put away the towel and put a finger under her chin, looking elsewhere like she was trying hard to think. “You know, I gotta admit that I felt that feeling too. He looked familiar somehow. If you want I can ask Candace. She’s in the school consoler team with Tighnari, maybe she knows who it is?”

You nodded and felt a weird feeling in your stomach. Were you nervous about knowing who he was? It wasn’t anything like you to care so much about a boy who seemed to like your way of making his weird coffee. After that day, you started working more in the cafe just to see if the boy would come back and he did. He was there every morning at the same time. 

The clock hit 7:20 am and the doorbell rang when someone came in. “Good morning!” you smiled at him and pushed his cup forward toward him. He stopped at the front counter and looked at you surprised. You couldn’t help but laugh at his reaction. “I knew that you would come at this time, so I already made your coffee!” 

He stood there speechless, feeling his heart skip a beat. You had learned his order by heart and had it finished before he came in. Soon he noticed the little drawing on the cup, making him lift his mug to analyze it. “I hope you didn’t mind me drawing on the cup a little.. I was bored while the coffee was boiling so I drew a little jackal head. Hope you like it” you smiled a little nervous. His gaze and facial expression were hard to read but you swear that you saw his gaze soften and a faint smile showing itself on his face. 

“It’s.. very nice of you. I like it..” he said seriously with a little hint of softness in his voice. A soft smile showed on your lips while you typed in the amount that the guy would be paying, He paid with his card like always and couldn’t help but stare at you for a while. You were so beautiful in his eyes and no one had ever been so nice toward him. Well if he thought about it some more it was your job to be nice as a cashier at a cafe, but why did it feel different with you?

“May I ask what your name is?” you suddenly asked without even thinking. He stared at you in silence, making the hair on your neck rise. Shivers ran down your spine and you soon regretted asking him about his name. The silence started becoming very suffocating, so you cleared your throat and handed him the receipt. 

“Nevermind.. I apologize for asking. I hope you have a good da-” 

“My name is Cyno” was all he said before he turned around and walked out of the cafe. His facial expression never changed once and you were left surprised behind the cash register.

You remembered what Deyha told you about asking Candace. She hadn’t called yet so it must mean that Candace couldn’t match the description with someone, but it didn’t matter anymore. Cyno could just be someone you saw in the city sometime or at a party. Though he did not look like someone who would be hanging around at parties… 

You would never admit it yourself but you had grown to like this serious and stoic man walking in and out every morning, ordering the most complicated coffee order you have heard. Somehow after he told his name, your morning greetings have gone from awkward “Hello” or “Good morning” to Cyno coming in and enlightening you with a joke or two while you made his coffee. Some were so bad that you didn’t know if you wanted to laugh or cry. He also came up with this lame nickname for you and he would always use it if you were alone in the shop. 

“Coffee bean..” you thought to yourself as you made a coffee for another customer. You looked out through the window and saw many students head towards the school as another day of tiring classes slowly approached. Cyno didn’t come to the shop yet which was a bit strange from your side but it was not like you cared or worried about him, right?

You stood by the coffee machine and fixed Cyno's order as usual when the doorbell suddenly rang. A smile formed on your face since you knew who came this early but when your gaze met a pair of unfamiliar eyes, your smile disappeared. 

In front of you stood two men with black masks over their faces. They walked to the cash register and forced you to put money in the bag. You refused the request since the money was important for the shop. It's impossible to tell from where you got the courage to stand up for yourself, but you did. 

It was a bad idea though.. because one of the guys jumped over to your side and bend you over the counter while the other opened the cash register and took money. You struggled to get out of the guy's grip, making him grin. He was so strong for no reason at all.

"Stop struggling or I'll have to use force and hurt you. You don't want your pretty face to be ruined now do you?" he said before shoving your face down. You winced a little in pain as your head hit the hard counter.

"Please don't do this.." you begged repeatedly. Like the universe heard your pleas for help the other guy dragged his companion off you and told him to search the shop for anything of worth. You stood up in shock and watched them look for things that were worth something.

After searching, the thieves found nothing more and decided to run away from there. Tears rolled down your cheeks and you looked down at your shaking hands. You got a headache and lifted your hand to your head only to be met with slight pain and blood on your hand. This wasn't good..

Soon you heard the doorbell again and someone walked in. You didn't bother to see who it was until you heard the person halt and gasp a little. Before you could blink you heard your name being called, making you look up in shock. You recognized the voice immediately and just when you were about to call out for him, he appeared in front of you.

Cyno stared at you with widened eyes as he saw your bruise and teary eyes. Without thinking he walked to the counter and climbed over to your side, holding your body close to his. His arms embraced you perfectly and with the right amount of pressure to make you melt into him and cry into his neck.

He was sure that you could hear his fast heartbeats but he didn't care. All that mattered to him was that you were alright and he was there with you. "You're okay now.." he whispered in your ear, trying to calm you down. All you could do was standing there crying while he held you in his arms. He caressed your hair and continued down to your back in a soothing way. 

Sometimes you felt him plant soft kisses on your head which made you blush but you made sure not to let Cyno see it. Maybe love wasn’t as bad as you thought…

so when you have a day in, thanks to the snow that piles in the streets, dehya is delighted!

she mostly lounges around on the couch, finally getting the rest that she deserves

and she’d love if you could join her! she reserved a spot just for you, after all (hint: it’s her lap)

but if you’re working around the house, dehya is more than happy to follow after you

wears an extra large sweater just so she can wrap you in it as she stands behind you

Y: Good morning everyone, and welcome to another segment of our Stellar Lunar analysis!

A: As I’m sure you can tell, this was not scheduled, but some of you reached out to ask for help on a latent theme analysis of chapter 7.

Y: Wow, your intros have gotten so much better! Didn’t think you had it in you~

A: …thanks. I guess.

Y: Alright, enough chit chat let’s get to it!

A: *unintelligible noise*

A: Please, please, please tell me you don’t actually believe that…

Y: And why wouldn’t I? You can’t take everything she says at face value!

A: Yes, you can. Not everything has a deeper meaning.

Y: And I would agree, but in this instance our narrator has been proved time and time again to be completely unreliable because of her mental state. The whole point of this is that we absolutely can’t trust everything she says.

A: I guess I… didn’t consider that. So with that being said, what do you think she meant by her statement?

Y: Oh my god… is the Alhaitham agreeing with me AND asking me a question, all in the same sentence?! I think I’ve seen it all!

A: Technically it was two sentences.

Y: Ugh, way to ruin the moment.

A: But you-

Y: One of these days we’re going to have to agree on something!

A: As soon as you start making sensible points we will.

Y: What makes you right? Our classmates love my point of view!

A: …

Y: Whatever.

A: Anyways, hopefully I’ll rub off on you so you can look at this logically.

Y: None of this book is logical though! That’s like- the entire point! And the seventh chapter is the most convoluted and non-straightforward part!

A: You’ve… read the whole book?

Y: You haven’t?

A: Of course I have.

Y: We’ll talk about the ending later.

A: Agreed.

A: I think I might strangle you.

Y: Cut.

A: What?

Y: Cut the cameras. Deadass.

A: Can’t win the debate so now you have to fight me?

Y: For your information, I’d win both, no questions asked!

A: Oh yeah?

And the next thing you know, Alhaitham is towering over you, haughty eyes looking down on you. Only slightly daunted, you stood up to meet his glare.

It was quiet in the room, the only sound being his quiet breathing and the ticking clock. “This isn’t a fight you can win,” Alhaitham grinned, but it was less mocking than you expected.

In fact, his narrowed eyes danced with mirth, taking you by surprise. “Oh please, I could take a nerd like you down any day,” you huffed, hands on your hips. Alhaitham snorted out a laugh as he stepped closer, and now you were chest to chest. “I’d like to see you try.”

Your frown deepened at his taunt. “You’re insufferable sometimes, Alhaitham,” you bit out. There had been an odd tension that had been present the whole recording, and now it was reaching its peak.

Chest to chest, nose to nose, he was insufferable to you, but you couldn’t get enough of your back and forth with him, couldn’t get enough of him. And maybe it was just the lingering heightened emotions from your near arguments, but you couldn’t help but want to be closer still.

It might’ve been wishful thinking, but from the way he was staring, you couldn’t help but wonder if he felt the same way. “God, you talk too much,” He hissed.

But before you could make a retort, his lips were pressed feverishly to yours. Your noise of surprise was muffled by his lips as he pressed your body closer to his.

It felt as though a haze was clouding your mind and stealing your judgment, but you couldn’t stop your arms from curling themselves around his neck.

He was intoxicating, and you were falling deep. The way his lips moved against yours was a mix of precision and passion that pulled you further into him.

His hand carefully cradled your jaw, allowing him to deepen the kiss more than you thought possible. You needed to breathe, and thought he would too, but Alhaitham seemed wholly content to only breathe you in, showing no signs of stopping.

You had to force yourself to pull away, but you couldn’t find yourself regretting it when you saw his expression. Eyes half lidded, lips swollen, and cheeks dusted pink… it was not something you could’ve ever imagined seeing on Alhaitham’s face, but the last thing you were doing was complaining.

“What was that?” You mumbled, unable to escape his gaze. And just like that, his infuriating smirk was back in full force. “I told you; you talk too much.”

You groaned, flicking his forehead. “Shut up. Anyways, we definitely have to cut that part out,” You sighed, but you weren’t at all displeased, and it was obvious that Alhaitham knew it too.

“Why? I think it adds to the argument,” He shrugged.

A: With all of that being said, I hope this was as productive for all of you as it was for me.

Y: Wait, what’s that supposed to mean?

A: I think you know, yn.

Y: I-?!

A: Anyways, if you have anymore questions reach out to either Professor Lisa or us. Anything to add, yn?

Y: H-huh?

A: Tch. You were complaining about my intros when it’s really your outros that are the problem…

Y: Hey-!

A: Goodbye and thanks for watching.

Y: Alha-!
