Note
Hello! I really loved your post about Zef and serafin with the emojis! But i noticed that we didn't get how zef would comfort us. A girl needs her comfort rnđ„Č so i would ask for â€ïžâ€ïžâđ©č for Zef
â€ïž- Zef isnât the most outwardly affectionate, but he certainly isnât above helping a friend in need. Heâll probably try to make you laugh, cracking jokes or be goofy just to get you to smile. đ But if youâre not into that he can also give you space. I can just imagine him leaving some food for you and then leaving you alone so you donât feel overwhelmed. Cutie~
â€ïžâđ©č- So I donât think Zef is too proud to accept comfort, but depending on the kind of affection you give he may be less receptive of it. Heâd probably just want someone to hang out with as a healthy distraction rather than talking about his feelings before heâs ready. If not, food is always a good option! Get this man some McDonalds fries and heâs a happy feesh.

Coffee au - Cyno x reader
February 14, Valentine's day..
The worst day of the year if you were to say it yourself. It's the day when the coffee shop you worked at was full of couples who just couldnât respect the fact that there were singles in this world too. You always happened to work on this day somehow. The thought of love disgusted you very much. Love was not something for you and that was something you always told yourself. You didnât have the time or the energy to find someone to love right now. Life was just simple and boring and you would like to keep it that way.
⊠Or that's what you thought before a young white-haired guy walked through the door with the most serious expression you had ever seen. Could someone look so serious and intimidating at the same time? His crimson eyes shone as he walked to the front counter.Â
You gulped a little and walked to the cash register and welcomed him to the shop.
"Good morning sir. What can I get for you this wonderful and lovely day?" you hated the sound of the cheesy introduction, but it's what your boss told you to say to every customer.
"Good morning. I want a Ben de Tia shot with hazelnut, vanilla, almond, extra whip caramel sauce, mocha sauce, rumba chocolate chip cream, Frappuccino with 5 shots of coffee, and top it off with some fruits and yogurtâ he said thoughtfully.Â
You froze at your place and stared at him. It was hard to tell if your mind played you some tricks or if your ears were stuffed with wax to the point where you heard something wrong. This had to be the longest and most complicated order you had ever got. Was this stoic guy on some good drugs or what was the issue?
The lack of response and movement from you annoyed him a little bit. He raised an eyebrow at you and crossed his arms. "Whatâs wrong? Something on my face?"Â
You flinched and coughed as an excuse. "No! Your order will be $6,29, sir" you looked down at the cash register and typed in his order with a red blush. How embarrassing...
He took his card out and paid for his order. You took the receipt and walked away to make this strange order. Soon you came to the coffee machine and picked out a cup for him. The order was too complicated to remember, so you picked up his receipt and followed every ingredient. When you were done you gave it to him with a small smile. "Hope it tastes good! Have a nice day and come back soon!"Â
He didn't spare you a single glance nor did he answer you. The white-haired guy just turned around and left the shop. What a strange guy...
The rest of your day was spent pretending to be this happy cashier who made peopleâs orders and cleaned after every table was used. You couldnât escape this day, it was your destiny to stay with all these couples until late at night.
After closing the cafe, you came home and threw yourself in bed with a satisfied sigh. Finally, the annoying day was over and you could sleep until tomorrow night if you wanted to. Your cat jumped up beside you and purred as it stroke its head against your arm. You opened your eyes and smiled. âHello little one, missed me so much today?â You raised your hand and scratched it behind its ear in silence. The little smile that was visible on your lips disappeared as you looked at the cat. âHappy Valentineâs day.. I guessâÂ
You donât remember when or how you fell asleep, but suddenly you were woken up by your ringing phone. Who dared to call you this early in the morning?Â
Turning around to your phone you picked it up and looked at the time. The digital number showed 08:10 am. Your gaze then wandered to the name on the screen and it read Deyha. Why was she calling you this early in the morning?Â
You pressed the green button and put the phone to your ear. Before you had the chance to say anything you heard her voice on the other side of the phone. âYou will never believe what just happened!â
Your eyes closed automatically and you grimaced at how loud she was. âPlease donât scream in my ear this early in the morning! What happened at eight in the fucking morning so you have to call me and disturb my beauty sleep?âÂ
âA white-haired guy came in and ordered the most complicated drink ever! When I made it to him he tasted it and made a disgusting grimace! Like can you believe it?
Then he stared at me intensely.. It felt like he wanted to kill me right on the spot! After that, he mumbled something like âItâs not like how that person made itâ and then he walked out of the cafe while looking mad! You worked yesterday so he must be talking about you! Do you know this guy?â
You sat up surprised, scaring the cat that slept beside you. It was that guy from yesterday! Why did he come back on a Saturday to get coffee this early?Â
âUh, yeah I worked yesterday and I might know who youâre talking about, but itâs not what you think it is Deyha! I donât know the guy at all. He came yesterday and ordered the same coffee he did today and then he paid and leftâ you explained seriously.Â
âmh-hm..â was all she said, and you could hear her big grin on her face on the other end. Of course, she thought that you were lying. Deyha and her girlfriend Candace have been trying to get you together with a boy ever since you started studying in the akademiya.
âWell well, looks like my best friend has an admirer. You better not let him down and cover for me these daysâ she laughed, making you roll your eyes. Deyha always found reasons to make you get out of your room and socialize with people. Another reason to cover for her was to cuddle with Candace, real annoying if you say it yourself.Â
After talking back and forth, Deyha excused herself by saying that she had to get back to work. Before you could even complain she hung up and you were left staring at your background on the phone.Â
With a sigh, you got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. There was no reason for you to go back to sleep again since Deyha had already woken you up, but what could you do on a Saturday when you were home alone? Maybe you could call your friend over and study for the upcoming exam, or you could get dressed and join Deyha in the cafe.Â
Deciding to keep Deyha company you got dressed and made your way to the kitchen where you gave your cat some food and fresh water. You walk to your hall and put on some shoes before going to the cafe. It was a 10-minute walk from your apartment building, making it easy to go home on your breaks.Â
Like you had thought Deyha was happy to see you in the cafe. You sat with her at the front counter and let her work whenever a new customer came by to buy a coffee or sandwiches. âTell me then, who is this guy?âÂ
You turned your head towards her surprised, âDeyha I already told you! Heâs a customer who came in yesterday and asked for the coffee you made. I made it for him and he left after paying.âÂ
She looked at you and it was like she looked for signs of you lying, but she gave up with a sigh. âWell, we know that heâs liking the coffee you made. That means another happy customerâ she smiled at you before wiping the front counter. You watched her wipe all the dust and coffee crumbs.Â
âbut thereâs something about him..âÂ
Deyha stopped in her tracks and looked at you with a wide grin. You knew that she was hoping for you to admit having a little crush on him but it never came. âI donât know how to explain it but it feels like I know him from somewhere. Is he going to our school or is he maybe my neighbor?âÂ
Deyha put away the towel and put a finger under her chin, looking elsewhere like she was trying hard to think. âYou know, I gotta admit that I felt that feeling too. He looked familiar somehow. If you want I can ask Candace. Sheâs in the school consoler team with Tighnari, maybe she knows who it is?â
You nodded and felt a weird feeling in your stomach. Were you nervous about knowing who he was? It wasnât anything like you to care so much about a boy who seemed to like your way of making his weird coffee. After that day, you started working more in the cafe just to see if the boy would come back and he did. He was there every morning at the same time.Â
The clock hit 7:20 am and the doorbell rang when someone came in. âGood morning!â you smiled at him and pushed his cup forward toward him. He stopped at the front counter and looked at you surprised. You couldnât help but laugh at his reaction. âI knew that you would come at this time, so I already made your coffee!âÂ
He stood there speechless, feeling his heart skip a beat. You had learned his order by heart and had it finished before he came in. Soon he noticed the little drawing on the cup, making him lift his mug to analyze it. âI hope you didnât mind me drawing on the cup a little.. I was bored while the coffee was boiling so I drew a little jackal head. Hope you like itâ you smiled a little nervous. His gaze and facial expression were hard to read but you swear that you saw his gaze soften and a faint smile showing itself on his face.Â
âItâs.. very nice of you. I like it..â he said seriously with a little hint of softness in his voice. A soft smile showed on your lips while you typed in the amount that the guy would be paying, He paid with his card like always and couldnât help but stare at you for a while. You were so beautiful in his eyes and no one had ever been so nice toward him. Well if he thought about it some more it was your job to be nice as a cashier at a cafe, but why did it feel different with you?
âMay I ask what your name is?â you suddenly asked without even thinking. He stared at you in silence, making the hair on your neck rise. Shivers ran down your spine and you soon regretted asking him about his name. The silence started becoming very suffocating, so you cleared your throat and handed him the receipt.Â
âNevermind.. I apologize for asking. I hope you have a good da-âÂ
âMy name is Cynoâ was all he said before he turned around and walked out of the cafe. His facial expression never changed once and you were left surprised behind the cash register.
You remembered what Deyha told you about asking Candace. She hadnât called yet so it must mean that Candace couldnât match the description with someone, but it didnât matter anymore. Cyno could just be someone you saw in the city sometime or at a party. Though he did not look like someone who would be hanging around at partiesâŠÂ
You would never admit it yourself but you had grown to like this serious and stoic man walking in and out every morning, ordering the most complicated coffee order you have heard. Somehow after he told his name, your morning greetings have gone from awkward âHelloâ or âGood morningâ to Cyno coming in and enlightening you with a joke or two while you made his coffee. Some were so bad that you didnât know if you wanted to laugh or cry. He also came up with this lame nickname for you and he would always use it if you were alone in the shop.Â
âCoffee bean..â you thought to yourself as you made a coffee for another customer. You looked out through the window and saw many students head towards the school as another day of tiring classes slowly approached. Cyno didnât come to the shop yet which was a bit strange from your side but it was not like you cared or worried about him, right?
You stood by the coffee machine and fixed Cyno's order as usual when the doorbell suddenly rang. A smile formed on your face since you knew who came this early but when your gaze met a pair of unfamiliar eyes, your smile disappeared.Â
In front of you stood two men with black masks over their faces. They walked to the cash register and forced you to put money in the bag. You refused the request since the money was important for the shop. It's impossible to tell from where you got the courage to stand up for yourself, but you did.Â
It was a bad idea though.. because one of the guys jumped over to your side and bend you over the counter while the other opened the cash register and took money. You struggled to get out of the guy's grip, making him grin. He was so strong for no reason at all.
"Stop struggling or I'll have to use force and hurt you. You don't want your pretty face to be ruined now do you?" he said before shoving your face down. You winced a little in pain as your head hit the hard counter.
"Please don't do this.." you begged repeatedly. Like the universe heard your pleas for help the other guy dragged his companion off you and told him to search the shop for anything of worth. You stood up in shock and watched them look for things that were worth something.
After searching, the thieves found nothing more and decided to run away from there. Tears rolled down your cheeks and you looked down at your shaking hands. You got a headache and lifted your hand to your head only to be met with slight pain and blood on your hand. This wasn't good..
Soon you heard the doorbell again and someone walked in. You didn't bother to see who it was until you heard the person halt and gasp a little. Before you could blink you heard your name being called, making you look up in shock. You recognized the voice immediately and just when you were about to call out for him, he appeared in front of you.
Cyno stared at you with widened eyes as he saw your bruise and teary eyes. Without thinking he walked to the counter and climbed over to your side, holding your body close to his. His arms embraced you perfectly and with the right amount of pressure to make you melt into him and cry into his neck.
He was sure that you could hear his fast heartbeats but he didn't care. All that mattered to him was that you were alright and he was there with you. "You're okay now.." he whispered in your ear, trying to calm you down. All you could do was standing there crying while he held you in his arms. He caressed your hair and continued down to your back in a soothing way.Â
Sometimes you felt him plant soft kisses on your head which made you blush but you made sure not to let Cyno see it. Maybe love wasnât as bad as you thoughtâŠ

A quiet night
Hello! I hope you enjoy this little angst fic I wrote! Sorry for all the tears hehe- love yall ;D
_____________________________________
The time hit 9:00 pm as you sat at the kitchen table, eating alone for what seemed to be the hundredth time this year. You had grown used to being alone all the time since your very busy partner always had to leave the comfort of your home to take yet another mission upon himself. You couldnât blame him since he was the one who accepted the title âGeneral mahamatraâ once again after escaping the akademiya. He had been betrayed by the sage and the other Matras once, but a new sage was in charge now and Cyno could start over. He was just never home due to his work even on his free days. It never made you stop loving him and you never forced him to stay, but you would lie if you said that it was easy to live alone after you promised a forever together just two months before.Â
Scooping up a piece of the food in front of you, you couldnât help but cringe at the fact that it tasted bitter. Not only had the food turned cold but this was your favorite dish, so the factor of the bitter taste lingering in your mouth made you feel more depressed. You got up with a sigh and walked to the trashcan to throw away the last bit of food on your plate. When did your favorite food become this bitter? Did you forget to add seasoning or was it the fact that the kitchen felt so cold and empty without Cyno?
Walking to and fro from the table to your used to be shared bed had never felt so heavy as if a burden so heavy even the strongest warrior would waver. Everything felt so lonely and cold now that one more person was missing from the shared house, the furnished building felt like a foreign place and for once you felt so small in this abode. You could only find solace in the fact you got company from the evening breeze, wishing that the hug from the wind was from someone else.Â
You changed out of your clothes and laid down in the same cold bed that you used to share with Cyno. The house was so quiet and you hated it. You hated being alone, you hated being stuck at home, and you hated the fact that he left with a kiss and never told you when he would be back. It wasnât fair how he could just bring up his work in the middle of the dinner and just announce that he would be leaving and you had to accept it. Did he ever think about what you think or how you felt?
No of course he didnât. Because being a General mahamatra meant that he had to be busy and away from you a lot. He was forbidden from putting his lover in front of his work.Â
You turned around in bed and looked at the frame with a picture of you and Cyno. The memory of meeting Tighnari in Gandharva ville suddenly filled your thoughts. He insisted on taking a photo of Cyno and you as a memory for the future. Cyno had been camera shy at first but you managed to convince him to take one. He wrapped an arm around you and met your gaze as Tighnari snapped a photo. The fox looked at the photo surprised but smiled softly upon seeing his jackal friendâs soft gaze. His love for you was shown brightly through this picture, but that was before he returned to the akademiya and started working for the sage again.Â
Tears fell down your eyes and you sighed deeply, putting it face down as you turned your back to the door and hugged yourself under the blanket. You looked out through the window at the moon that shone brightly in the sky and you couldnât help but wonder if Cyno looked at the moon too and thought about you.Â
Meanwhile, there was a certain general walking home tired. He had a jackal piece on his head and white silky hair flowing in the cold breeze. He held his golden spear tight in his hand as he entered Aaru village.
Not knowing if he ever told you, the proud general had wanted to make you remember that he would always come back at the end of the day. He had priorities and responsibilities for the people in Sumeru, but he wouldnât hesitate when he saw you. His heart beats loudly whenever youâre near and it stopped whenever youâre not here.Â
His way towards home was sort of unfamiliar, he hadnât been home for at least a week now but he was eager to find you again. He was excited even to cuddle or share dinner with you again, the general mahamatra was every stoic around others, but with his lover, he was nothing but an obedient dog. His tired feet started to accelerate when he saw the house within his sight.Â
The sound of the door unlocking caught your attention as you sat up in bed surprised. Could it be your lover who was finally back after a week? You threw the blanket off yourself as you hurried down to the door. The sight of your lovely partner made the ache in your heart disappear just for a while. It almost felt like you fell in love all over again every time he came home and took off that jackal piece. His gaze met yours as he smiled softly and placed the headpiece on a stool. He opened his arms and your eyes swelled up in tears as you ran to him and hugged him tightly. Cyno wrapped his strong arms around you, burying his nose into your hair. He took a deep breath and gave out a satisfied sigh. He was finally home with the person he loved.Â
He heard your sobs against his chest, making his heart ache. Cyno was well aware of the loneliness and the pain he caused you every time he left the house. He stroked your hair calmly. âDonât cry my ruby, Iâm home nowâ he whispered against the top of your head. You couldnât help but smile softly at how gentle he was with you. His gentle touches showed how much he missed you during the time he was gone and you could feel how sorry he was by the way he left small kisses on your head and didnât plan on letting go.Â
A chuckle escaped your lips as you wiped the tears away and nuzzled your face into his chest. âYou idiot, itâs happy tears because I missed you so much..â you spoke up, wincing at the way your voice broke mid-sentence. He let go of you a little and lifted your head by two fingers under your chin. You looked into his crimson eyes for the first time in a while as he stared back into yours. How can someone, who dances in the sun with a vision at your side, be so in love with someone dark and mysterious like him?Â
He wasnât quite sure of the answer but he didnât want to know either because it felt like he would lose you if he figured out the truth. Cyno leaned down closer to your face and closed the gap between the two of you. The taste of his sun-kissed lips felt like heaven to you as his arms wrapped around your waist. It has been too long since he felt the taste of your sweet lips and tonight was one of the rare moments he wished that he was a normal guy like all the students in the akademiya. The general mahamatra wished that he could stay home all day and wake up to your beautiful sleeping face every morning, but he couldnât so moments like these when he was home were very rare.Â
Cyno deepened the kiss, savoring every flavor he could taste on your lips. It was an addiction he never knew he had until tonight. You placed your hands on his cheeks and made some space between you two to catch your breath. A string of saliva was hanging between your lips and you both were panting. No one could be blind enough to not see the lust in his eyes at the moment and all you could do was giggle as you moved your hands to his hair. Cynoâs hands moved to hold your hips as you ran your hands through his white locks and untangled every knot that had been caused by the wind.
Your eyes wandered over every scar, every feature, every freckle on his face, and upper body as your hands slowly found their place on his shoulders. You met his eyes and whispered, âItâs too late my love. We got tomorrow too!â you smiled softly. His eyes softened more and if you looked closely you could see the heart-shaped irises in his crimson eyes. âI hope you know what day it is..â you teased a little bit, causing the male to tickle you a little and wrap you in his arms. His breath tickled your ear as he whispered, âHow could I forget the beautiful day I decided to ask this breathtaking lady to be the love of my life?â he smiled against your ear, causing a blush to spread to the tip of your ears.Â
âSuch a tease, Cyno!â you rolled your eyes with a smile and he laughed as he planted one last kiss on your cheek. âJust for you my doveâ was all he said before he lifted you into his arms and carried you to your shared bed that finally didnât feel so empty anymore. He laid you down as he took off all the accessories and clothes he had these days, leaving only the shorts on. You snuggled down under the blanket and watched him change before walking to you and leaving a kiss on your forehead, âIâll just go and shower quickly, Iâm back soonâ You nodded and he walked to the bathroom. The shower wasnât longer than 5 minutes and when Cyno got back, you had already fallen asleep. He smiled softly as he removed the towel around his hips and put on new pair of underwear. Cyno made his way to the other side of the bed and laid down behind your carefully to not wake you up. The last thing he would want right now is to wake you up and risk you not being able to sleep again. He wrapped the same blanket you had over himself and felt the warmth coming from you, making his tense muscles finally relax. Cyno wrapped his arm around your hips and pulled you closer to him before leaving a kiss on your cheek with a soft âgoodnight my loveâ whispered to your ear.Â
The next morning came faster than anyone thought. The morning breeze came in from the window you left open last night which woke Cyno up pretty early. It wasnât like he was forced to go somewhere but it was a habit to wake up early whenever he felt any disturbance in his sleep. He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes before looking at the time which read â5 amâ. It was still too early to get out of bed, especially on his day off after weeks of staying in Sumeru city to help the sages and Lord kusanali.Â
Suddenly feeling a movement under him made him look down only to see your sleeping face against his chest. You mustâve turned around during your sleep and were now nuzzling close to his chest. He smiled softly and leaned down to leave a kiss on your forehead making a smile creep up on your face. Cyno felt like he could lay here and stare at your face for hours, heck even days if he could. A buzz suddenly brought him back to reality, making him turn around to look at the akasha terminal on the nightstand. He couldn't believe it when he looked at the message that had been sent to him. They had a new mission and needed the general mahamatra to come in and work again. How could they be so selfish? It was not only his day off, but it was also the anniversary between him and you. Cyno knew how sad you would become if he left for work, but he couldnât change anything right now.Â
He struggled to get out of bed, in fear of waking you up and having to explain why he was leaving. He wouldnât be able to bare the upset expression on your face when he told you that he had to leave. Cyno put on his work outfit before moving on to the accessories. He took the akasha from the nightstand, looking at it with so much hate until the point where his hand started to shake and he was ready to break the akasha in half. A sound came from the bed, making Cyno turn his head towards you with widened eyes. He feared that you were awake but when he saw you still sleeping he sighed in relief and decided to leave before it was too late.Â
The sun rose to the sky, creating a beautiful day perfect for a celebration. Although the guilt in Cynoâs body did not agree with that sentiment, like a parasite eating him up from the inside he couldnât help but worry.Â
Sand ran through his toes like an ever-reminding fact that time was running out for his and his lover's special day. Making his way towards home had never felt this slow before and he had this urge in him to run, Cyno had hoped that he would make it home in time for at least a movie date. It may now be too late for a dinner date or fun at a restaurant, but it was never too late for movies.Â
Or so he thought.Â
When he arrived back home the sun had already fallen down and the moon's gentle embrace covered the whole ground of Teyvat. Hesitating to unlock the door that barricaded him from his lover, Cyno let out a sigh and started to make his way inside. His resolve to fix the celebration was stronger than his fear of an upset partner. Casting his eyes down he hoped to see a shadow or maybe even light, but he was met with nothing but darkness. Fear seized his heart as thousands of dangerous scenarios flashed through his mind, did you get kidnapped? Did you get hurt or worse, did you get killed on the date of your anniversary with him?Â
His eyes finally went up and there on the kitchen table sat his dearest individual. Light from a candle caressed your face and a warm blanket draped over your shoulder, tears were evident and the red and puffy eyes were a bigger sign of an upset significant other. Cyno quickly tried to apologize and make some sort of apology, but never got the chance as a pillow was thrown at him.Â
âHey! What was that for?â The albino asked with a hint of hurt, he didnât understand why you were so upset. Sure, today was a very important day, but more of them will come in later years.Â
âTake a look at the clock,â You said âJust look!â Tears streamed even harder down your cheeks. You stared at his visible eye making its way toward the clock hanging by the wall of your lovely abode.Â
23:59. Not even a movie night was salvageable at this point. The day was already ending, but as much as Cyno felt regret, he couldnât share the sentiment for you had fallen for a matra, the general of Mahamatra. He had a duty and you should understand that he couldnât be lenient towards his job, it was either the people of Sumeru or you.Â
His duties were sadly just too important for him to abandon and he wanted you to understand.Â
âMy desert flower, please donât be sad. We have next year to make up for this year.â He started with a whisper âI canât just abandon the people of Sumeru, they need me-â
âAnd I donât?!â You refuted with angry tears.
He swallowed hard at the sound of your broken voice ringing in his ears. â Thatâs not what I meant my rub- â he whispered but you spoke up before he could finish his sentence
âWell, thatâs what it fucking sounds like Cynoâ The way you said his name made his heart ache. He had heard his name million times but never hated the name so bad as when it came out of your mouth in moments like these. It had a sour taste in it and he hated it.Â
âI have been supporting you ever since you came back to the akademiya and never said a word to you about how upset I am. Youâre smart enough to realize it yourself but our relationship is slowly falling apart Cyno, I donât want to live like this anymore.â You exclaimed, feelings of frustration gnawing at every inch of your body.
âI donât want to wake up one day and never know when you will be back. Every mission you take is so dangerous, that is why the anniversary is so important to me. Now I see that this was one-sided. The worry and panic I feel are all for naught cause you donât careâ Strangely everything that left your mouth was eerily calm.Â
His heart broke down at the words coming from your mouth. This mustâve been something you had been thinking about for a while. It wasnât something that just came out of the blue and he knew you well enough to know that you always consider your words before you speak. This was his fault and he had no one else to blame for the emptiness than himself.
He looked at you with sorrowful eyes as you took deep breaths, trying to calm yourself down. âThe people of Sumeru can be handled by Lord kusanali for one day, they wonât be dying if their general mahamatra isnât there. Do you even realize what an easy target you are Cyno?â you crossed your arms and hot tears rolled down.Â
His eyes widened at your words and he opened his mouth to say something but not a single word came out, not even a single sound that told you that you were wrong. You felt the pain overtake your body, making you look down at your feet and sob. âI knew I was right..â
He teared up after hearing your question to him and the constant nagging in his heart made him feel so sick to his stomach.Â
âYouâre wrongâ he finally spoke up. You looked up at him and for a moment you hoped that he would say that you were wrong for assuming that he was all that naive. How could you be ever so wrong for assuming that?Â
âThe fact that I am naive is wrong, Iâve done this job before and I know what I am doing. People would die if Iâm not present at the right time, all the people that have died at my hands are those who deserved judgment. You have to understand that I have no right to talk against anyoneâs orders! Believe me that I never want to leave you⊠and I love you with my whole world and life my ruby..â he crossed his arms and looked at you.Â
â and there you go again, defending yourself with your ârighteous waysâ. Why don't you go and marry them if you love to work so much that not even a single day can be spent with the woman you promised to love until death do us part?â you pointed towards the door with tears rolling down your face.Â
âYouâre overreactingâ was all he said before a deep silence filled the room. You turned to the chair and took the blanket before pushing the chair into the table. âLike I said there will be time for our anniversary next year. Maybe if you wouldâve stayed in the akademiya you would see how busy and important it is to work thereâÂ
Suddenly a voice came from the akasha as a man announced another mission in the desert this time. When the general had finished speaking he looked up just to be met by an empty kitchen. The candle had been blown out and darkness embraced him together with the sadness and anger in his chest. He turned around and saw you walking towards the shared bedroom.Â
âSo youâre going to give me the silent treatment? Fine! Then I might as well take the mission if youâre going to overreact like this.â he said irritated walking to the door. You mumbled something to yourself, Cyno with his keen hearing heard it and stopped at the heart of his tracksÂ
âDo whatever you want. Youâre dead in my eyesâ
He looked back towards you, but you were already in the room. It felt like someone stabbed him with a knife as he stepped out of the house and closed the door, locking it behind him.Â
Cyno summoned his spear as he walked out to the ancient desert land. All your words were still fresh in his head and he couldnât stop thinking about the last thing you said. He didnât mean to cause such a big misunderstanding, he wanted you to understand that he had to be away. Yet, he only had himself to blame for your anger, he couldâve taken today off and spent the day with you. He couldâve declined the mission⊠He couldâve.
You were right and he hated it. Never had he heard you express how upset it made you feel when he left, you never stopped him from going either which made him feel relieved then, but now it only brought more salt to the open wounds that were left after tonight's argument.Â
Because being alone in the dark and quiet desert only made the thoughts of the fight come back. There was no time to think about that right now he told himself and tried his best to focus on the road in front of him.
He arrived at the place of the mission and signaled the sage about his arrival. He took off the akasha and started looking around the place for any suspicious activity but found nothing more than an empty camp. The eremites mustâve left shortly and would be back soon so all he had to do was wait, but thatâs exactly what he shouldnât do right now.Â
Cyno tried to scan every corner he could see, in case they were hiding and waiting for the right moment to attack him. Though he realized soon enough that this was highly impossible to do when all he could think about was you and the thick air that was left after your argument.
Suddenly there was a sound and a widening of red eyes. Cyno turned aroundâ just in time to see an eremite behind him with a silver dagger plunge through Cynoâs back. For a moment, time seems to stop. Neither of them were moving from their place as the moment sank into both of their skulls. Did Cyno just lose his guard and let himself get stabbed by a lowlife eremite?Â
The Eremite looked at the blade horrified, he couldn't believe that he had been able to sneak up on Cyno and stab him. The man seemed to have gotten back to his senses faster than Cyno and a grin formed on his lips. He yanked out the dagger and Cyno crumpled to the ground as the time hurtled back at full speed.Â
âI finally got you General mahamatra. Hereâs the judgment for all your sins. Now you die out here all aloneâ was all he said before he yanked accessories from Cyno that was worth something and ran away before Cyno could catch him. The mahamatra tried to get up again to walk home and seek help or to catch this damn eremite, but he couldnât move a muscle.Â
He turned around and lay on his back in the sand, looking up at the starry night as he slowly felt his body go cold. He couldnât move his fingers or his legs and his head was spinning. Was this the destiny of the General mahamatra? This was how his life ended and he just had to accept it.Â
A sudden thought of you appeared in his head, his feelings overflowing and so does his tears. He had left you sad at home probably thinking that he hated you. He regretted all choices he made tonight. He shouldâve turned around and kissed you, he shouldâve told you that he loved you, he shouldâve hugged you and reassured you that everything was alright, but he didnât and he would never be able to do it either. He would never see your beautiful face again and that breathtaking smile that always lit up his days. He would never be able to greet you with a kiss or ever tell you that he loved you.Â
The corner of his lips turned up when his eye caught the sight of your favorite constellation in the sky. His body started to feel more numb and it was almost like his body had given up completely, but he wanted to see you one last time.
He heard his name being called from a distance but didnât have the power to turn his head toward the voice. It did sound like your voice at first, but he mustâve imagined things. Why would you leave your safe home to come and look for him?Â
Though he did want to hear your voice one last time tonight. You could tell him how much you hated him, how selfish he was, or that you loved him. Whatever was fine with him, he just wanted to hear your voice.Â
Your face appeared in front of his and he looked weakly into your eyes with his smile growing wider. Was he hallucinating right now?
You scratched your knees in the hard sand but didnât care. What was more important was that the one you had sworn to love all your life lay in front of you and was minutes from dying. You were crying and he hated it, âCyno, What happened to you?â you asked him. He stayed quiet at first, admiring your beautiful eyes because he didnât want to reveal the truth that he had been stabbed, but he couldnât lie to you.
Cyno raised his hand to your cheek and caressed it. â I lost focus and got stabbed..â he whispered. Eyes started scanning his body, looking for the stab wound to be able to put pressure on it. He understood what you were doing and took your hand in his, caressing it. âThereâs no point in putting pressure on it. Itâs on my back.. just let me see your beautiful face and smile my dessert flowerâÂ
You gritted your teeth and tried your best to keep the tears from flooding. âYouâll be alright Cyno. You got to stay with me.. I canât lose you!â you begged, but you knew as much as him that his time was now cut short in Teyvat and he would be a part of Celestia.
One thing Cyno knows, better than almost anyone, is how to spot a lie and he knows that you were lying, every single time you told him that things were going to be alright, he just knew. But he was too tired to think about that right now. All he wanted to do was stay here, breathing in the smell of the cold night and your perfume while you carefully card fingers through his hair.Â
You lifted his upper body into your embrace, wiped your tears, and moved his hair from his face. He looked up with tears in his eyes and you could hear how he struggled to breathe.Â
âIâm sorry.. I shouldâve considered your feelings before my selfish ones. I thought that I could finish my missions and then have all time in the world for you, but I couldnât and Iâm sorry for thatâ he whispered.Â
âI forgive you Cyno.. please stop talking and stay with me..â you sobbed. Your gazes met and it was like he fell in love all over again. He wiped some of the tears that had rolled down your cheeks.Â
The world around him started to fade, and even the pain didnât seem so bad anymore. He felt like he was drifting, far away. It was so hard to hold on with the last of his strength bleeding out from his broken graspâŠso hard to keep his eyes openâŠ
âMy ruby, Could you do something for me?â he mumbled. Your chest clenched at the sound of his weak voice, but you nodded either way. âOf course, anything for you Cyno..âÂ
He smiled softly and tilted his head towards your chest to feel your warmth one last time. âCould you smile for me..? I want to see that beautiful smile you always have whenever I see you..â
You looked at him surprised for a moment before taking a shaky breath. One selfish side of you didnât want to fulfill that wish because you believed that he would make it alive⊠he had to, but the other side wanted to do what he asked to. He suddenly tilted his head to look up at you since you never gave him an answer.Â
You met his gaze and caressed his cheek with a weak smile. Even if your lips were trembling a lot, you still managed to keep a big enough smile to make your lover smile back at you. He seemed satisfied and it made you happy.Â
The world around him faded, and even the pain didnât seem so bad anymoreâŠhe felt like he was drifting, far away. Itâs so hard to hold on now, with the last of his strength bleeding out from his broken graspâŠso hard to keep his eyes openâŠ
He exhales, and his eyes slip shut, and everything fades until there is nothing left at all.
As the moon was up, many stars created beautiful constellations and a new star found its place somewhere in your favorite constellation.Â

Cyno x Sick reader
This was requested by my dear friend ;D @seirenspinel
I hope you all enjoy this fic I put together! It's so worth my lack of sleep T-T <3
_______________________________
It bothered you to see how Cyno walked in and out of the house however he wanted while you had to stay in bed and drink those damn pills Tighnari had given you when he passed by to do a check-up after Cyno had visited him and told him about your high fever. The fox had strictly told the general to keep a close eye on you since Tighnari knew how much you hated to stay in that damn house alone all day when students continued researching things in Sumeruâs beautiful ecosystem.
Youâre not even sure how you manage to get sick when your immune system was strong and stable after all the potion and drinks Tighnari had told you to drink to stay healthy like him. Apparently, it didnât work on humans.
but who were you if not a stubborn person who never recognized your own limits sometimes? You were tired of being stuck in bed all day and Cyno was at work anyways so it wouldn't hurt to go out a little and get some fresh air. The open window Cyno left every morning didnât help much since you still felt trapped in your own house.
You lifted the blanket and moved your legs to the edge of the bed before sitting up slowly. There was a high chance for you to faint when you were sick so you decided to not risk it much. It looked like it was sunny outside so it wouldn't hurt to just take a short walk to a bench and enjoy the view over the ocean. You put on a hoodie and sweatpants before standing up from your bed. The dizzy feeling kicked in immediately and you almost felt yourself fall back down but you held yourself steady.
The moment after standing up from bed and walking to a bench outside was a blurry memory for you, but you came back to your senses when you suddenly saw something fly in front of you and a voice was heard from a distance. Your vision was blurry and you suddenly saw someone else crouch down and talk with you, but you couldnât make out what the person was saying.
âHello! Celestia is calling for you! ugh, why are you ignoring Paimon!â She didnât look happy at first since they just came back from the new desert area and she was super tired, but after having a closer look at you she started to get a bit worried.
âOh no Traveler, They donât look so good!â Paimon said and turned around to her travel buddy who already looked at you and noticed how pale you looked. Sure they had heard from Collei that Tighnari had left pills for you because you had become sick. The traveler never expected you to look this bad. Getting worried they decided to check your temperature just to let out a hiss from the sheer heat.
âTheir temperature is very high. Itâs not looking good, Paimon we have to bring them inâ the traveler said.
Paimon continued to try and talk with you but you never gave them a clear answer so the traveler realized that the responsibility laid on them to bring you inside and make your fever go down. You suddenly felt yourself being lifted in someone's arms and was slightly shocked because you didnât recognize the smell coming from the person, but your senses came back for a while and you heard Paimon talk with a shaky voice like she was worried. Soon enough you felt yourself being laid down on something soft and the traveler spoke up. â There we go, back in bed again. Paimon could you bring a cold and wet cloth, we have to make their fever go down.âÂ
Paimon did as she was told as the traveler put the blanket over you and wiped some sweat from your forehead with a towel. Paimon was back soon with a cloth and put it on your forehead. You whimpered a little because of the cold contact to your forehead and Paimon apologized but realized that it fell on deaf ears as you had already fallen asleep.Â
What happened after that is only something the traveler knows, but you remember waking up from your deep sleep after hearing sounds from somewhere in the house. You still felt dizzy and your head was throbbing but you felt a bit better since the fever had gone down.Â
Suddenly Cyno walked in through the door while carrying a bowl of soup. It seemed like it was newly made and he put it down on the little table beside the bed before taking the cloth from your forehead and walking to the bathroom again. He didnât even bother to look you in the eyes or say something which told you everything you had to know.Â
He was surely irritated and you hated when he was. Cyno never talked about what he felt or what bothered him but you always knew somehow which scared him a little. He walked back to the living room soon and placed the cloth back on your forehead in silence. âCyno..?â your voice came out raspier than you thought which pained your ears because you never realized until now just how sick you were and he stopped at your call before he got the chance to leave the room.Â
That was just what you did to him. You had the kind of control so you could melt him in mere seconds just by saying his name. The way you said his name was so sweet and innocent and he couldn't bear to be mad or irritated at you. âWhat?â he winced a little at how harshly he sounded, but could you blame him for sounding harsh when he was in the middle of a meeting with Al Haitham at the akademiya just hours before when the traveler suddenly ran inside and told him that they had found you on a bench almost passed out. He doesnât recall ever running home that fast with his heart in his throat as he feared the worst for you and it didnât help much when he felt your high fever.Â
You felt just how much you wanted to disappear away from this situation because you knew that he held a lot of scolding inside of him. The silence killed you every second as you just stared at the wall. Suddenly you heard a sigh and he turned his head to the side to look at you.
âWhen will you stop being so stubborn?â his voice made you look back into his crimson eyes that you had grown to love and admire so much. He took off his jackal headpiece, placing it on the living room table before walking back to your side. You never gave him an answer and he didnât expect one from the start.Â
â I know that youâre tired of laying here day in and day out, but stop going out on small adventures alone and denying the pills I try to give you, and maybe youâll get better much faster,â he said before sitting down beside you on the bed. He took your hand and kissed your knuckles softly, never leaving your gaze.Â
You sighed and looked elsewhere. It was impossible to look into his eyes right now when you knew that he was right. Those pills tasted awful and they were so big for no reason at all. What did Tighnari even think about when he made these for you?
You were well aware of how frustrating it was for Cyno to see you laying in bed, being this weak. If he could then he would take this sickness away from you but there was nothing that he could do but care in silence, in his own way. Cyno never expressed his worry verbally to you. He could never admit that he was worried sick for you until the point where eremites fell victim to his rage, that was just not who Cyno was, but you were too smart to not see it yourself.Â
The way he stayed quiet when he came home in case you were sleeping, the way he never cared about his own bruises but went straight to you just to see how you were doing, the way he left breakfast and a cup of tea on the little table beside you with a little note where he had written down where he was and when he thinks that he would be home. He also made sure to let you know that he would be coming home on his break to warm some soup for you and while he watched you eat the soup he couldn't help but crack some bad jokes to see your beautiful smile. Because that was what kind of effect you had on him. He was ready to jump off a cliff if you told him to and you were aware of it yourself.Â
"You're an idiot. How could you drag yourself out when you're sick ?"Â
"Because I was tired of being inside Cyno.. I want to go out and enjoy the weather and not feel trapped in my own home.. I love you and I never meant to worry you. I just wanted to reach the akademiya and be with youâ you say weakly and to anyone outside it seemed like he stared holes into your face, but who would he be if he wasn't the general who had a soft spot for only one person?Â
He lifts his hand and caresses your cheek with the back of his hand. "You are flattering me, my ruby. You know that my love for you is growing with every day passing, and it hurts me to see you this weak and sick. You worry me, even if you don't mean to."
You close your eyes and enjoy his touch, totally ignoring his words. He sighed at you but couldn't help smiling at how peaceful you looked. Cyno knew just how much you loved him and how much he meant to you. Even if he spent hours in the desert hunting down scholars and bringing justice to the bad people, you still waited for him with open arms and a wide smile. He was finally loved by someone who never feared him or hesitated to tell him how much they love him despite his work or his past. What could he say, he was a lucky general.
Cyno kissed your forehead before letting go of your hand. He stood up, positioning the pillows behind you so you could sit up comfortably. You needed to eat the soup he made before it became cold. âThere we go, now eat the soup I made. Iâll go and prepare the pills for you, my rubyâ he said before pushing the table closer to your side. You sighed loudly and groaned annoyed, making him chuckle a little.
You leaned over the bowl and started to eat with a little smile, looking down at your beautiful boyfriend who sat down with his back against the bed, reading some reports that he never finished at the akademiya. Being close to you was all that mattered to him and he hoped that you knew just how much you mattered to him and how much he loved you.Â

________________________________
Arabian nights~
The sun shone over Aaru village, making the sand shine beige. You found yourself in the comfort of your own home that you shared with your partner, the General Mahamatra, the judicator of secrets, a genius scholar, and a very sweet partner in your opinion. He was a feared man throughout Sumeru, making every scholar in the akademiya want to disappear into the ground when meeting him, but not you. You found yourself appreciating every last bit of his muscular and perfect body.
The room was filled with the smell of roasted meat, rice, and nuts; his favorite dish. You knew how to satisfy your partner after a long day of bringing justice to scholars who dared to commit crimes under his watch. You respected his job, you really did, but it did pain you how he often walked in with untreated bruises. He always wanted you to treat his scars for a reason he never shared. Truth was that he adored your touch, It felt like nothing he had experienced before.
Cyno is used to seeing the worst humanity has to offer. Crimes and sins meant to be weighed on a scale and mistakes meant to be corrected. This is how he should live, he knows. This is the path that he has chosen, and he knows that he will not carry regrets.
but then you appeared.
Beautiful (H/C) hair and warm (E/C) eyes. A smile that is genuine and beautiful. You are the most sincere person that Cyno had ever met.
For the first time, Cyno sees something else in a person. He sees kindness without any strings attached. He sees sweetness that he can't comprehend and he begins to see something other than the past. He sees a future where you share a kiss, a hold. Perhaps, he can even see a future where you share a life.
Where he is beloved, not feared. Even if only by a single person, even if only one smile could be his. It will be the only person that matters, stealing his breath.
Your ears perked up at the sound of the door unlocking, a warmth of contentment overshadowed the relief of guessing his schedule right. After years of being in a relationship, you could tell the right moment to start dinner so it finishes right at his arrival.
the sound of Cyno breathing in through his nose made you smile. It was almost like you could see the rare smile appear on his lips after smelling the roasted dish in the whole house. You looked up as Cyno tugged off the infamous jackal headpiece and shook his triggered frizz of silver locks underneath.
you snorted, earning a frown from the man. Apparently, the sound wasnât as quiet as you imagined. His gaze narrowed as you took him in, returning to the food shortly after. He lay the uniform neatly over the back of the chair before sliding behind you. You were ready for the pressure of his hands against your sides, but still managed to jump at the different temperature of his sun-kissed heat and the cool chill of the house.
âHiâ you muttered softly, leaning into the hold. Your head tilted enough to meet him in a kiss.
âhi,â he echoed, lips now traversing the curve of your jaw.
Cynoâs thumb circled your stomach through your shirt thrice. You moved the food off the heat. âwant to get changed? itâs about ready.â
âI have to return to the desert soon. Another group of scholars is selling illegal information and I have to stop itâ he rested his chin on your shoulder and took in your body scent. Your skin was warm, bringing him some peace in the comfortable silence laying over the room.
He let go and walked to the table, sitting down on the same chair where his uniform rested. You poured a glass of yogurt for him and placed it in front of him before bringing the plate of food. You settled the chair next to him and decided that you would enjoy a shared meal while you could.
After you finished you walked to the sink and stored away the leftovers for you two to take tomorrow while he made himself ready to get out again. His gaze fell on you when he was done, reflecting on the fact of how he got so lucky.
âI want to know what I did to deserve this?â
you rolled your eyes playfully, placing the packaged food in the fridge. The question came up almost every week when he needed to work extra, leaving you at home all alone. And you always gave him the same serious answer, hoping that he one day would accept the fact that he could be loved despite all the bad things he had done.
Passing by Cyno, you placed a kiss on his bottom lip, narrowly avoiding his attempt to capture you as you stored away the yogurt. Suddenly you got spun into his arms as he captured your soft lips into a sweet and loving kiss, wrapping his arms around your waist. You couldnât help but smile against his lips, wrapping your arms around his neck and closing your eyes.
He created a distance between your lips as he stared into your eyes. You could only offer him a sweet smile back, planting a kiss on his nose. âyou always deserve it, youâre a wonderful fianceâ
Cyno smiled before leaving a quick peck on your lips, letting go of you before putting on the jackal headpiece on his head. You smiled and watched him leave the house, closing the door after him. The silence spread over the house again as you returned to the sink and washed the dishes.
An hour passed as you made yourself ready to leave. Groceries wouldnât appear in the fridge by themselves and you knew that yourself. What else was there even to do alone in the house?
You could visit Candace until Cyno came home or play with the children by the statue of the seven, but you had things to do this time so you could play with the kids another day. It didnât take you long to reach the market outside the desert where the people of Sumeru gathered and sold all kinds of things for money. You walked around and collected what you needed before heading back home. The sun had set by now and you were well aware of the dangers lying in the desert at this hour so you were ready for anything, but luck was on your side as you arrived at Aaru village unharmed.
Not many people were outside at this hour so it wasnât odd for you to see the village this empty. You greeted the people passing you before finally arriving at your house, but something wasnât right.
the door was slightly open and had marks on it just like someone had broken inside. Your heart started to beat out of your chest and you felt the air in your lungs disappear. There were people in your house and you stood there without anything to protect yourself.
you sneaked inside just like it wasnât your own house and left the bags in the hall. You grabbed whatever you could find which was a wooden spoon and walked towards the sound. It led you to the living room where you saw eremites look through drawers and boxes to find something of worth.
âLook everywhere! The General must have things of worth! That man will pay for what he did to my fatherâ one of the eremites told his other friends as they placed small gold cups in their bags.
You just hoped that they couldnât hear your heart beat so loud as it did. you had already spotted the huge swords on their belt and felt like you didnât stand a single chance against them if you confronted them about it, but it all changed when you saw one of them pick up the one thing that wasnât allowed to be found.
A diamond and gold bracelet, Cynoâs birthday gift from you. He adored the bracelet and always kept it near him in the house. Cyno was so afraid to lose it so he always left it at home, but now it was in the hands of a disgusting thief who grinned so big. You appeared and looked at them in fury before they could even place it in the bag.
âYou let that go, you ugly piece of scum,â you said and hardened your grip on the wooden spoon. They looked back terrified, obviously expecting the general to stand there with his spear but there you stood.
They calmed down and laughed. âWell, what do we have here? Youâre so cute. I think Iâll take you with usâ
The eremite started to walk towards you as you stood ready to attack. âObey little girl and we wonât need to hurt you.â The guy took up a knife which made you question if it was a great idea to attack when he had the knife, but you wouldn't let them win. They walked into your house and started stealing your things so they had to pay.
You started to swing and hit them with the spoon hard. It left nasty wounds on their faces which you felt proud of, but what you weren't aware of was that one of them had risen on his feet and captured you in his arms.
âyou fucking bitch,â was the only thing you heard before you felt the knife cut through your stomach, making a nasty wound. You screamed and fell to the ground, holding your stomach in pain. You looked down only to see blood spread over your blue shirt. The guy looked down at you and was about to cut one more time but got dragged away by the others who said that Candace had spotted them.
You watched them leave as all kinds of thoughts flew around in your head and you felt the headache start to kick in. Was this it? was this how you would die? All alone in your warm and comfortable home..
Meanwhile, Cyno sighed as he felt his sore muscles kill him. The mission was indeed a pain in the ass but he succeeded in fixing yet another mistake that had been made. He looked up and smiled at the sight of the village. He guessed that you probably were in bed now, waiting for him to arrive so you could fall asleep in his warm embrace.
The closer he got to the house, the more he realized that something was wrong. The door was open and had marks, what had happened here?
He feared the worst as he began running towards the house, almost tripping over the threshold. Cyno saw the bags that lay on the ground with the groceries spread over the floor. He lifted his gaze a little and saw some droplets of blood on the floor beside the bags. Cyno called out your name but got no response, making him panic more as he walked further into the house.
Cyno looked around and saw you in the corner of his eye. There you lay on the floor, in a pool of your blood. He yelled out your name as he ran to you and sat down on his knees where you could see him. You met his eyes as he held your cheeks in his rough and warm hands. Were you dreaming or did he really come to save you?
âWho did this to you?â, he asked. His voice was calm but you knew him too well. A hurricane was stirring inside of him; his red eyes that always shone with safety, now started to diminish to an unrecognizable fury that you had never seen. All over the fact that you were sprawled on the floor, beads of sweat clinging to your forehead, and a waterfall of blood pouring from the gash of your stomach.
You opened your mouth to speak but nothing came out; the words died in your mouth. His gaze fell on the shirt that once was blue but had now turned a dark red color. Cyno felt a deep pain in his chest as it felt like the air from his lungs had been taken away. He lifted her into his arms carefully, afraid to bring her any more pain. The sight of his lover, the person he promised to protect, the person he wanted a future with, now lying hurt in his arms pained him to the core. Who could be so cruel and hurt his fiance like this?
When he found out who it was, they would pay a horrible and well-deserved price. He wouldn't just let them suffer the pain of his hands, they would feel his fury by his spear. There were millions of things he could come up with and what he would do with them, but now he was here with you.
Candace came in, completely out of breath as she saw the sight in front of her. She gasped, putting her hand over her mouth before informing the hospital people to come in and take you. Suddenly the whole living room was filled with nurses who moved you from his arms to a stretcher. Cyno could just watch as they took you away from him, away from the comfort of your home, away from the place where he thought you were safe.
His gaze fell on the engagement ring on his finger that shined in the moonlight. The memory replayed of the day when he proposed to you, something he had been building up the courage to do for a long time. He smiled at the memory of your happy response as tears rolled down your cheeks, capturing him in a sweet and loving kiss right after.
Cyno played with his ring as tears formed in his eyes. It was rare for Cyno to cry, he was never scared of anything, and he never got sad over anything. You had never had an argument that left him in tears, only feeling a bit guilty. and that was what he was feeling right now, guilty.
The guilt burned him in his chest, like knives cutting through his heart. He wasnât there to save you, he wasnât there to protect you, you suffered alone.
what did you feel at that moment? fear, loneliness, sadness, and maybe betrayal? He vowed to always be there for you and yet here he was now. too late, too slow.
He stared at the pool of your blood in front of him. Cynoâs hands were shaking as he leaned forward, squeezing the part of his chest where his heart lay. The pain was unbearable, but he had to go through it. His few tears soon started to blend with your blood.
Cyno was at a loss of words and for the first time in all his years of being a matra, he didnât know what to do. The great General Mahamatra Cyno, the judicator of secrets, a genius scholar, didnât know what to do more than regret taking the mission. He started hitting the ground until his knuckles became bloody and he felt his ears ring.
After some time he sat up on his knees before standing up on his feet. He walked and got the cleaning material before cleaning the pile of blood and everything else that had been damaged during the robbery.
A lot of things were gone, and he did notice the bracelet being gone too but that was the last thing he worried about right now. Cyno only wanted you to be alright, he wanted you to come back home and smile at him like you always did when he came home.
Cyno finished cleaning the house before taking his spear and walking out of the house towards the hospital. He only hoped that you would make it out alive for him. He wouldnât be able to live without you, it was impossible.
Candace stood in the waiting room and met him with a smile when he walked in with his uniform on. Cyno put his spear against the wall before turning to the woman with the same serious expression as always. If someone didnât know Cyno well enough, they wouldnât see the concerning gaze Cyno had and the quivering lips. âHow is she, Candace?â
The blue-haired girl sat down in a chair and sighed. âThe doctors haven't come out yet and told me, but you have nothing to worry about. They are in good handsâ
He sat down and nodded slightly, placing the clasped hands in his lap. An hour passed before the doctor came out and Cyno was up on his feet faster than anyone could blink.
The doctor looked at him and nodded, causing him to let out a breath he didnât know that he held inside. âYou can go in and meet them if youâd like to. Theyâre in room 309â
Cyno walked past the doctor and looked for the said number on the walls. He was so close to seeing you again. Warmth and happiness spread all over his body and he felt like he was in love all over again. You had made it, you didn't give up and leave him.
He soon arrived and read the sign beside the red door. âRoom 309â he whispered to himself before taking a big breath, opening the door, and walking inside. There you lay on the bed in peace, eyes closed, and arms placed beside you on each side. Cyno closed the door and walked to your side. He took in your features as you lay in bed. It didnât look like you were in any pain at the moment, but he knew that you would be once the painkillers stopped working.
Cyno sat down in the chair beside the bed and took your hand carefully in his, bringing it up to his lips. He brushed his lips over the back of your hand before placing soft kisses on your knuckles. Your hand was so soft and warm, bringing some comfort to him that you weren't ice cold since you lost a huge amount of blood.
âIâm sorry my love.. Iâm sorry I wasnât there to protect you as I promised. This was not what I wanted destiny to do to you.. I never wanted the safety of our own home to become a place where I lose you.. Iâll become better, I promise I will. You donât have to worry, I will hunt the people down who did this to youâ he whispered, leaving some kisses on your hand before leaning up and kissing your lips softly.
He sat back on the chair and only focused on holding your hand in his. He wouldnât ever let go of you again, never. Not out of his sight either. If he would go somewhere, you would follow him.
Cyno leaned down and placed his forehead against the bed, closing his eyes to rest a bit. He had been working all day after all, and after seeing his fiance hurt in their home he couldn't rest a bit. Now when he knew that you were safe, it wouldn't hurt to rest a little bit.
Your eyes opened slowly, adjusting to the light coming from the nightstand beside you. The words coming out of his mouth pained you. He blamed himself for everything and would probably overwork himself until the day he finds the eremites who tried taking your life. You wouldnât let that happen to him, not under your watch.
You squeezed his hand slightly, earning him to sit up surprised as he stared into your hazel eyes. You offered him a sweet and tired smile that brought tears into his eyes. That smile.. that beautiful and perfect smile of yours never failed to bring tears to his eyes.
Cyno stood up from his chair and cupped your cheeks carefully with his hands, earning you to lift your hands and hold his. You both stared into each other's eyes as he leaned down and placed a soft kiss on your forehead, holding it there for a while. You smiled and closed your eyes at the touch. The sweet moment you shared meant the world to you both.
âItâs not your fault Cyno. Please donât blame yourself for not being there. There was no way that either one of us couldâve known that a robbery would happen to us. Iâm alive thanks to you my love, and we will bring justice to the people who did thisâ you whispered to him as he removed his lips from your forehead and replaced it with his own.
He looked into your eyes as he took in the beautiful sight of the eyes he adored. You always knew how to calm him down and feel loved. You moved your hands to his cheek and caressed them with your thumbs as you tilted your head up, leaving a soft kiss on his lips.
âI love you,â you whispered against his lips. A pink blush appeared on his cheeks as he looked down at your lips. â I love you too, my rubyâ he whispered, tilting his head to the side, catching your soft lips in a sweet kiss. Your hand moved down to his hand where you interlaced fingers together, where the engagement rings shined together in the moonlight.
