At first, Ethan hated you, and you hated him. You were related to Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley. The same very people who tried to stop Richie and Amber from their genus plans, and managed to do so.
Dewey tried to help, and he died. Deserved, is what Ethan would like to think, but Gale, Gale was much harder to shake. A fighter, per-say. She was the one to hold Amber at gunpoint and set her on fire.
Sam Crap-enter, and Tara Carpenter. Oh, how much he hated Sam for slitting Richie's throat. Tara? She wasn't as bad, but still bad.
You? Hated you for your parents, but was all...he couldn't find any other reasons to hate you. You were just...perfect? Kind, funny, smart. All of the above. It infuriated him. God, he couldn't stand to see your perfect face, the same face that made his heart jump up and down, cheeks flushed an words caught in his throat.
Why did you hate him? Well...you happened to catch him talking to Quinn, about Richie being their brother. The same Richie that attacked your friends, parents, and you. Although, you didn't stay long enough to hear them talk about some...Ghostface matters.
But just like Ethan, you grown warm, nice, but overwhelming feelings for you. The shy, dorky, fun, funny, kind, nerd. You two always hung out, despite hating each other. It went from distant, to practically sharing food with the same forks!
The more closer and comfortable you two got, the more you both realized what the feelings you held for each other were. Now, it did infact make it more difficult to not give out any weird signs to each other.
Quinn hated the way her brother swooned for you. You were their next victim, not Ethans next lover. She'd always slap the back of Ethans head when he day dreamed about you. "Ow! goddamit...the hell is your problem Quinn?" Quinn sighed. "Stop thinking about your love duck and focus on the plan!" Ethan rolled his eyes.
You were the first to confess. You were drunk at the Halloween party and Ethan? Somewhat sober.
⚬˶♡˶⚬⚬˶♡˶⚬⚬˶♡˶⚬⚬˶♡˶⚬
"Etahn, I've be been look for you!" You giggled, as your body collided with Ethans. "Woah, you okay?" You nodded and nuzzled in his chest. "Now that you're here..." His cheeks flushed bright pink. "How much had you have to drink?" You shrugged. "3...no, wait...5...?" Ethan 'ohh-ed' before gently pulling you closer.
"You're drunk..." He whispered. "Wait...who are you again?" His smile dropped. "Im Eth " You chuckled and grabbed his shirt. "You look just like Ethan!" His eyebrows furrowed, but he smiled, deciding to play your little game. "Really?" You nodded quickly. "Mhm, yea!"
You hugged him. "Hes really cute, and handsome. Hes so nice to me. I like him a lot. I want him to be my boyfriend!" Ethans eyes widened and he stared at you in shock. "What...? "
You put your index finger on Ethans lips. "But shhh! Dont tell him. I dont know if he likes me back..." You murmured sadly. He gently smiled. "Tell you what, Im a friend of Ethans...and and he tells me how much he likes you. How pretty/handsome you are, funny, kind..." You blushed and averted your eyes away from his.
"Guess what?" You looked back at him. "What?" You spoke quietly. "Im the Ethan you're talking about..." A smirk played his lips. "What? No way!" You softly hit his chest. "Yes way!" You replayed in your mind about what he said. "Does...does that mean you like me too?" He nodded. "Want you to be my lover..." He sighed into you and placed his chin on your head.
"Will you...?" His eyes shined in the blue lights. "Yes." You closed the gape between you two.

So I have something for Amber x fem reader. Reader is Dewey’s and Gales daughter. Reader has been friends with everyone for awhile (reader is very close with Tara and Sam)and reader and Amber started dating freshman year of high school. Amber is very protective of her gf. She’s also very possessive. Amber is trying to protect her gf from Richie’s ways because she’s related to a legacy. Richie forced Amber into doing this and if she didn’t Richie would killer reader. Act 3 happens when Amber shots Liv in the head and saying welcome to act 3. Before reader could run Amber pulls reader somewhere and explains why she was doing all of this to protect her gf. And that she killed Dewey and had no other choice. And reader says I’m still in love with you no matter what. Reader also says to Amber nothing in this world can change the way I feel about you. And in the kitchen scene with Amber, Sid, and Gale reader hears Amber scream and struggle and sees her mom holding a gun at Amber about to pull the trigger but reader tackles her mom and starts to protect and help Amber. Gale confused so is Sidney and Sam. Idk how to finish it but maybe you can help out with the ending. And adding part of the ending is where Amber ends up living, Richie dies and Amber and reader have a happy ending. And then despite everything Tara and Sam still love reader and they said nothing will change that. Tara, Sam, and reader are every close still. And Mindy and Chad still care for reading
omg this is actually such an interesting concept?! I hope I did your idea justice, lovely! :) sorry it took so long and also sorry for how long it is. 😭
Is it worth it? // PART ONE — Amber Freeman ★
part two:
Tumblr media
PAIRING: Amber Freeman x fem!riley!reader
SUMMARY: you are the daughter of Gale and Dewey and you find out your girlfriend, Amber, is Ghostface. 😱 You end up still loving her anyways and love a happy little life
WARNINGS: stabbing, Dewey dies </3, Richie is a fucking maniac (he’s like that anyways but in this Amber was forced to be Ghostface by Richie) ENJOY :))
Tumblr media
“C’mon Amber we have to do this. The stab movies mean so much to both of us, you said it yourself it’d be fun to have a movie made for us. I know you want to” Richie says to Amber. He had called her and proposed this plan of being Ghostface and killing everyone related to Sam and Tara and all the ‘legacy characters’ pretty suddenly.
The stab movies meant so much to Richie. They were what got him to love horror and he thought stab 8 was just purely disrespectful. Amber and Richie had met a while ago online and both bonded over the stab franchise. Since Amber and Richie were both film nerds so they got along pretty fast and used to stay up for hours talking about different scary movies.
He thought if anyone would be his Ghostface partner, it would have to be Amber.
“No! I’m not going to be apart of your sick game! My girlfriend is apart of that fucking friend group and she’s related to Gale and Dewey-” Amber yells at him and he yells back cutting her off.
“If you wont be apart of this I’ll kill your fucking girlfriend!”
Ambers eyes grew wide at that. She loved her girlfriend more than life itself and she knew better than anyone, she’d do anything to protect her partner. She didn’t want to do this, she didn’t want to do it at all but if means you’d be safe, she’d do it. Richie noticed how she went silent and grew impatient “Are you doing this or not?”
Amber muttered a quick “I’ll do it asshole” and hung up on him. Richie smirked at this and began writing the plan down. All Amber could do was think about you. She didn’t want to hurt you and she’d kill Richie if he ever laid a finger on you. She knew he was crazy about the stab movies but never thought he’d take it this far.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on her bedroom door. “Come in!” she said with a soft tone, she knew who was knocking. Proving her suspicions right you slowly opened the door and walked in. “Hii, I’m not intruding am I?” You asked while staring at her textbooks that were in her lap. She followed your gaze and looked down. She forgot she had even began studying before Richie called.
She shook her head “No, of course not come here.” You grinned and waddled over there and Amber couldn’t help but smile back. She admired how adorable you looked, and that you were wearing her shirt. She laid down moving her textbooks to her desk and you cuddled up beside her, while she played with your hair.
“You know I love you right?” She randomly asked you and looked down at your confused expression. “Of course, is something wrong?” She looked away and shook her head murmuring a ‘no’. You sat up right and kissed her head, “You don’t have to tell me what’s wrong, but just know I love you too. I love you a lot.” She looked up at you and genuinely smiled before gently tugging at your shirt, pulling you down so she could kiss you.
She didn’t want to lose you but she knew she probably would when following Richies plan. Trying not to think about it she put her focus back into kissing you, enjoying a moment that probably wouldn’t happen again anytime soon. But she’d rather you break up with her than have Richie try and kill you.
-
The Ghostface killings were happening again. To sum it all up, your best friend Tara had gotten attacked first (pretty brutally) , some guy Liv used to hook up with got killed, Sam got attacked in the hospital while visiting Tara, Sheriff Judy and her Son, Wes, had both died and now you Sam and your dad, Dewey, were on your way to the hospital.
Sam was also your best friend so of course you went with her to the crime scene where Wes and his mom died. Since the sherif died all the cops were at the scene instead of watching Tara at the hospital. She had been hurt really fucking bad and Ghostface wasn’t afraid to go in the hospital to hurt her some more, so naturally Sam was terrified of what would happen with no cops there at all. Especially since Tara was on a private floor.
Sam was driving recklessly, Dewey was in the front seat, and you were in the back holding on to the back of Sam’s seat for dear life. Your dad was shouting things at Sam like, ‘slow down!’, ‘that’s a red light!!’, ‘we’re going to die-!’ You wanted to laugh but you were also kinda scared. You knew better than anyone what Sam would do to people who fucked with her family. You’ve seen it happen a multitude of times.
Sam got a call from Ghostface when you guys had just made it to the hospital. Ghostface was either going to kill Tara or Richie while all three of you ran in the building going towards Tara’s room. Sam stalled the phone call long enough to where you guys made it just in time, before Ghostface got to do anything. The elevator opened and Dewey immediately sorted shooting at the fucker.
Ghostface ran off and Dewey went to get Richie while you and Sam ran towards Tara and quickly embraced her, while she cried in both of your guy’s arms.
“Get the elevat-“ Dewey got cut off and all you heard after was glass shattering. Everyone quickly turned their heads and you shouted ‘NO!’ Dewey and Ghostface quickly started fighting and you were terrified of what was about to happen to your dad. Richie crawled away towards Sam and Tara, while Sam was holding you back.
All you could do was watch your dad almost get stabbed. Thankfully he had shot the Ghostface and everyone went in to the elevator. You hugged your dad so tightly, being very thankful he was okay. Before he stopped the elevator doors from closing said the words you dreaded.
“The head”
Everyone looked back confused. “The head, you always have to shoot him in the head.” You started crying cause you knew he would try to be the hero. I mean, to you he would always be a hero but he didn’t have to do this. You hugged him tighter “no dad please please don’t leave me please” you sobbed into his chest and his own tears started forming. He kissed your head and whispered into your hair, “I’m doing this for you, I love you kid.” You were still sobbing while he lightly pushed you back into the elevator.
You kept saying ‘I love you too’ and ‘please don’t’ before he walked out and the elevators closed. Sam was hugging you tightly while you cried and cried. You knew what was going to happen.
The next thing you know you’re outside the hospital having a full on anxiety attack and sobbing your eyes out. You spot your mom running towards the building and you ran towards her. Meeting in a hug full of tears and sadness.
-
Sydney had came back to comfort both you and Gale but Tara, Sam, and Richie planned to leave woodsboro. Sydney and Gale were trying to convince Sam not to leave but she was too stubborn to listen. She needed to protect Tara. After they argued you hugged Sydney and your mom before getting in the car. “I’ll text you and when you’re ready you can get me so I can live with you.” You told Gale with a small smile and she nodded returning the smile.
Richie began driving and Tara had lost her inhaler so you all decided to go to Ambers house to get the extra one she had. You were still crying but you were happy you get to see your girlfriend, you haven’t seen her in a little bit. Wondering if she was okay, if she was hurt, or maybe just busy. Or maybe Ghostface but you quickly singled that thought out. She couldn’t be the killer- right?
You all made it to her house, she was throwing a party for Wes. You all walked it and she was right there by the door immediately grabbing you in her arms. “Fuck, are you okay? I’ve missed you so much.”
You give her a worried expression “Why haven’t you called or texted, Amber? I was worried about you-“
“I-I’m sorry I just lost my phone” you feel uneasy at that response and she looks at Tara, “should you be up and around right now? Are you guys going somewhere?“ Sam and Tara look at each other than look at Amber.
“I need my extra inhaler” Tara says and Amber slightly nods before going upstairs with Tara while Richie gets everyone out. You wonder around the house with Sam and no matter how many times you’ve been over here, it always managed to make you feel weird and creeped out. You didn’t know what it was.
Sam was growing impatient and yelled “Tara, we’re leaving!” Then you got a call, slowly taking it out of your pocket and looking at Sam slightly scared, you look at the contact. It was Gale. “Mom? Are you alright?”
“Y/N you need to get out of that house, right now!”
“What?”
“You’re in the house where Billy and Stu killed everyone!”

i guess 2022 was the year of the unfinished fic for me. I just couldn’t seem to get much finished w/o wanting to move on to something else. sometimes it was a lack of engagement (working in a small fandom or small ship), or just me not feeling qualified to work in a fandom and getting too in my head abt it. but mostly, it’s just this lack of inspiration i feel. i think long gone are the days when i could write 100k+ fics. rn I feel lucky if i can finish a oneshot.
anyway ... thought i’d round them all up for a post bc why not.

So here's the deal.. Maybe reader is daughter of Sidney Prescott, by ivf,as after scream 3 she wanted to have someone to love, so she did and then 10 years later skip to scream 4,it was a little 9 year old reader who shot Jill because she was about to kill her mother, in the hospital, she sees a birth certificate and sees her mother's name on the mother column and on father's column she sees.. Billy Loomis, she confronts her mother about it, and Sidney tells her that she got to know about the identity of the other person too late (don't ask why he would do this, maybe as a prank or something..) then in scream 5 she came back to woodsboro when her uncle dewy died, and when she hears Sam is Billy's daughter, she tells her she is her half sister, then in scream 6, reader starts to like the nerd ethan laundry alot, and when she is drunk she tells him who she is, as no one besides Sam, Sidney and gale knew who her father was, which ethan says during the confrontation scene, he did like reader and tries to Ave her from Quinn, as Quinn wanted to kill reader because she was Sam's sister and she was also there when her brother died. At the end, reader drops the TV on ethan,... I know its too detailed but please?
A/N: Nothing too detailed for me!! A/N: This does sound like a series though tbh

"So, Sidney, I heard you had a daughter?" Jill smiled at Sidney. "Uh, yea..." Sidney hesitated to answer.
"Could...could i see her?" Jill tilted her head. "I just want to see my cousin's daughter...since...yk, i might die to Ghostface," Sidney slowly nodded. "Yea, uhm, thats fine...shes just with her aunt Gale right now so..." Jill gritted her teeth and put on a fake smile. "Thats okay! Im...Im gonna head upstairs and go get ready to see Kirby." Sidney smiled at her.
૮。✧ 。ა૮。✧ 。ა૮。✧ 。ა૮。✧ 。ა
"Okay. Last one, alright? You are killing me..." Gale chuckled. "Okay, okay...is uncle Dewey a bad person?" Gale furrowed her eyebrows. "No! Where'd you hear that?" You simply shrugged. "Ma said that you cant always trust the love interest..." Gale sighed and shook her head. "Okay, sweetie, that is different. Dewey is a good sheriff and helps your mother through a lot of shit. Hes one of the good guys. Depends on the person."
You mouthed a 'ohhh...' before turning to your stuffed bunny. "Why does ma and uncle Dewey call me bunny?" Gales expression darkened. "I thought that was the last one?" You playfully smiled. "Just one more!" Her lips twitched into a playful grin.
"So, you had an aunt. Her name is Tatum, and...thats her bunny. She gave it to Dewey to give to you, as a gift...and they call you bunny because it reminds them of her..." Gale spoke softly. "Where is she now?" Gale grimaced. "On a...a...very long vacation!" You nodded again.
Gales phone buzzed in her pocket. She swiftly picked it up. "Hello? Oh, hey, Sidney. What's up? You want me to pick up her what? Oh, alright. Bye." You curiously watched Gale tuck her phone back into her back pocket.
"Pick up my what?" Gale put an index finger to her mouth. "Adult matters, but why did she have me pick it up now? Its dark out...whatever."
You kept your eyes on the window, watching the street lights flash and shine. You pondered what your aunt Tatum looked like, as you played with the white chubby bunny.
૮。✧ 。ა૮。✧ 。ა૮。✧ 。ა૮。✧ 。ა
"We're here," Gale unbuckled your seat belt and exited the car. She opened the car door for you and held out her hand. You gladly took it and hopped out of the car.
You stuck to Gale's leg, since there were quite a lot of people. Reporters, even. "Hi. Im Gale Riley. Im here to pick up [Name's] Prescott birth certificate." The front desk woman eyes Gale before typing on her computer.
She bends down and opens the drawer next to her, pulling out a firm piece of paper, wrapped in plastic. "Thank you," Gale grabbed your hand and began walking to the front doors, until her phone buzzed again. "Dewey, hun, hi. Shes right here with me, why? Sidneys in the hospital? What?! Ghostface..." she scoffed. "Of course...Im already in the hospital so im going to see her. No buts, bye!"
Gale sighed and crouched down. "[Name], babe, stay here with the front desk woman, okay?" You nodded as she took you to the front desk lady, explaining to her why Gale had to leave. The woman understood and let Gale exit as wanted, but the paper Gale had gotten had fallen out of her purse.
You rushed to pick it up and tried to follow Gale. "Wait, aunty Gale!" The paper had slid out of the plastic wrap. You took a look at it and saw three blood relatives. Sam Carpenter...? Billy Loomis..."Mommys boyfriend..." You gasped. There was another name, one you didnt recognize. You had to talk to your mother about this, and Gale was your ticket to her location.
You began sprinting, watching Gale with your every move. You saw the button she pressed on the elevator, so you went to a different one, jumping to press the button.
You ran out the elevator as fast as you can when you heard a 'ding,' seeing Gale turn into a certain room. You heard grunts and things being thrown around.
Gale was being held at gunpoint by a woman you hadn't recognized. "Can i say one last thing?" She scoffed. "What, please?" Gale smirked. "Clear," her eyebrows furrowed. "Clear?"
"Clear!" Sidney comes up behind Jill and electrocutes her in the head with two defibrillator pads using 360 joules of energy. She falls backwards while Sidney crouches down to Gale.
You silently watch, making notes of Jills movement. She was still alive. You saw a gun on the floor, on display. You quickly ran to the gun, startling Jill. "What?! "
You grabbed the gun and fired in Jills direction, shooting her in the throat, shoulder and chest.
"[Name?!]" Sidney scurried to your side, pulling you into a tight embrace. "What are you doing here?!" She softly scolded you. "Why didn't you tell me you weren't my real mother?"
She gaped at your words, so did Gale. "What...?" You softly frowned. "I have the paper..." Sidney whipped her head in Gales direction, as Gale frantically searched through her bag. "Shit..." Gale chuckled nervously.
"I was trying to find out who your father was...I now know, and so do you because of a certain someone..." Sidney gritted her teeth.
"I...I think I have a sister..." Sidney tilted her head. "You do?" You nodded. "I do! Can we find her?"
"Um, Im not so...sure," You sniffled and gave her puppy dog eyes. "Please, promise me we'll find her!" Sidney hesitated before sighing.
"Alright, we'll find her.."

Looks Can Be Deceiving (Stu and Billy x M! Reader)
Hi! So I'm not really that well informed on the big tiddy slang (English is not my first language) but after a quick google search I think I got the idea????? If not, then I apologize, but I hope you enjoy this :)

Billy Loomis and Stu Macher weren’t exactly looking for a new friend, let alone a roommate. They’d been fine on their own, thriving in the chaos of their twisted little partnership. But when the college housing office placed them in a three-bedroom rental with some random guy, they couldn’t exactly say no. Rent was cheap, the landlord didn’t ask questions, and besides, how bad could it be?
The first time they saw you, though, they realized this arrangement was going to be…interesting.
You were standing in the living room when they arrived, setting up a bookshelf filled with horror novels and occult knickknacks. At first glance, you looked like something straight out of one of their favorite slasher films—towering, dressed in all black, tattoos peeking out from under your sleeves, with silver jewelry glinting against your pale skin. Your undercut only made you look more dangerous. Stu, never one to keep his thoughts to himself, leaned close to Billy and whispered, “Dude, do you think he’s in, like, a death cult or something?”
Billy didn’t answer, but his sharp eyes lingered on you as you turned to greet them. “Hey,” you said, your voice deep and smooth. “I made brownies. Want some?”
Stu’s jaw dropped. Billy just narrowed his eyes. And just like that, their expectations were shattered.
Over the next few days, it became clear that you weren’t at all what they expected. Despite your intimidating looks, you were ridiculously nice—almost unnervingly so. You always smiled when you saw them, greeted them with “Good morning” even if they ignored you, and even asked if they wanted anything from the grocery store before you went out. When you weren’t at class or work, you were usually in the kitchen, baking cookies or meal-prepping while blasting Bauhaus or The Cure from a tiny speaker.
Stu was instantly smitten. He started following you around like a puppy, throwing his long arms around your shoulders and declaring you his “best goth buddy.” He loved pushing your buttons just to see you scowl—like the time he “borrowed” one of your necklaces and pretended he lost it, only to give it back with an over-the-top apology. “Don’t worry,” he said, grinning up at you. “I’ll make it up to you. Wanna watch a movie? I’ll even let you pick.”
Billy, on the other hand, was harder to read. He spent a lot of time watching you from across the room, his dark eyes following your every move. You caught him staring more than once, but he always looked away before you could say anything. Unlike Stu, who was all loud jokes and obvious flirting, Billy was subtle. He’d make sarcastic comments about your goth aesthetic, only to quietly leave a new horror novel on your desk after you mentioned liking the author. He never admitted it, but you had a feeling he stayed up with you that one night you were stressed about your midterms just because he didn’t want you to be alone.
Stu and Billy’s affections, however, reached a dangerous new peak the day they stumbled into your room at the worst—or best, depending on how you looked at it—possible moment. It started innocently enough, or at least as innocently as things ever got with those two. Stu had been whining about needing help finding a charger, and Billy, clearly annoyed, suggested he ask you. Of course, "asking" wasn’t Stu’s style.
“C’mon, Big Guy!” Stu called as he shoved your door open, Billy trailing behind him. “You seen my—oh my god.”
You froze mid-motion, one arm reaching for the fresh shirt you were about to pull on, the other holding a towel you were using to dry your hair. Time seemed to stop as both of them stood there in the doorway, their eyes glued to your bare chest. No shirt. No barriers. Just you, all soft curves and broad muscle, your big tits on full display.
“Holy shit,” Stu breathed, his voice tinged with awe. His jaw practically hit the floor as he stared, unblinking. “Are you kidding me? Those things are, like, illegal.”
Billy, meanwhile, was much quieter, but no less affected. His dark eyes drank you in, his usual mask of control slipping for a moment as his gaze flicked downward, then back to your face. He swallowed hard, shifting his weight like he was trying to keep himself from stepping closer. His voice, when he finally spoke, was lower than usual. “We didn’t know you were changing.”
“No shit,” you snapped, snatching the shirt and pulling it over your head as quickly as possible. “You ever heard of knocking?”
Stu groaned, flopping dramatically against the doorframe. “Aw, don’t cover up! I was just starting to enjoy the view!”
Billy shot him a glare but didn’t argue. He was still staring at you, his tongue darting out to wet his lips. “You’re...built,” he said, his tone almost grudging, like the words were being dragged out of him against his will.
“Thanks, I guess?” you muttered, tugging the hem of your shirt down and crossing your arms over your chest. You could still feel their eyes on you, and it made your skin prickle with a mix of embarrassment and something you couldn’t quite name.
Stu leaned closer, his grin widening. “Dude, do you, like, know how big those are? Like, for real? You could probably drown someone with ‘em. You want to try it out?”
“Stu,” you growled, your patience wearing thin. “Get. Out.”
Billy finally stepped in, grabbing Stu by the back of his shirt and dragging him toward the door. “Come on, idiot. Let's leave him alone.”
“But Billy!” Stu whined, digging his heels in. “I wasn’t done appreciating the—”
The door slammed shut before he could finish, leaving you standing there in stunned silence. You could hear them bickering in the hallway, Stu’s voice loud and animated as always.
“I’m just saying, those are a work of art! It’s like the Mona Lisa, but, you know, better.” “You’re an idiot,” Billy muttered, but his voice was tight, like he was holding something back.
From the moment Billy and Stu got an eyeful of your assets, the dynamic in the house spiraled into utter chaos. You’d barely noticed it at first, chalking up their constant presence to boredom or a newfound interest in hanging out. But as weeks went on, their antics became harder to ignore. The snarky comments, the heated glares exchanged when you weren’t looking, the way they tripped over themselves trying to one-up each other—it was enough to make even the most oblivious person suspicious.
But not you.
Whether it was the gym incident, the pancake debacle, or the never-ending movie night arguments, you remained blissfully unaware of the brewing storm. You were too focused on your studies, your workouts, and making sure the house didn’t descend into complete disorder to notice the increasingly absurd lengths Billy and Stu were going to for your attention.
It all came to a head one particularly tense evening. You’d gone out to grab groceries, leaving Billy and Stu alone in the house. The moment the door closed behind you, the gloves came off.
“Just admit it,” Stu said, pacing the living room like a caged animal. “You’re obsessed with him.”
Billy leaned against the wall, arms crossed, his expression icy. “Says the guy who’s practically glued to his side 24/7.”
Stu spun around, pointing an accusing finger at him. “You’re just mad because he actually laughs at my jokes. When’s the last time he smiled at you?”
Billy’s jaw clenched. “Maybe he doesn’t need a fucking circus act to enjoy someone’s company.”
“Oh, right,” Stu sneered, throwing up his hands. “Because brooding in the corner like some wannabe vampire is so charming.”
“Better than acting like a hyperactive toddler,” Billy shot back, his voice dangerously low.
The argument escalated quickly, voices rising as they hurled insults back and forth. At one point, Stu picked up a couch pillow and launched it at Billy’s head, narrowly missing. Billy retaliated by shoving Stu into the wall, and for a moment, it seemed like things were about to get physical.
But then you walked in.
“Hey, guys—what the hell is going on!?” you asked, staring at the scene in front of you: Stu pinned against the wall, Billy’s hand fisted in his shirt, both of them glaring daggers at each other. They froze, turning to look at you like two kids caught with their hands in the cookie jar.
“Uh…nothing!” Stu said quickly, plastering on his trademark grin. “Just some light wrestling. Y’know, for fun.”
Billy let go of Stu and stepped back, brushing imaginary dust off his shirt. “Yeah. Just messing around.”
You raised an eyebrow but decided not to press the issue. “Okay...well, I got pizza. It'll be in the kitchen.”
As you disappeared into the other room, the tension between them simmered, but neither of them made another move. Not yet, anyway. It wasn't until later that night, after you'd gone to bed, that Billy and Stu returned to their conversation.
“This has to stop,” Billy hissed, his voice low and cold.
Stu crossed his arms, still bristling from their earlier fight. “You think I don’t know that? But what’s your solution, huh? Scare him off so neither of us gets him? Not happening, Billy Boy.”
Billy was silent for a long moment, his jaw working as he mulled over his options. He hated the idea of sharing you—hated it almost as much as he hated the thought of Stu winning. But the alternative was losing you completely, and that wasn’t something he was willing to risk. “Fine.”
Stu blinked, caught off guard. “Fine what?”
“We share him,” Billy ground out, his teeth clenched.
Stu stared at him, and then a slow grin spread across his face. “Well, well, well. Didn’t think you had it in you to play nice.”
“Don’t push it,” Billy warned, his voice sharp. “This doesn’t mean I like you. It just means I like him more.”
Stu snickered. “Whatever you say, buddy. But hey, at least now we’re on the same team, right?”
Billy didn’t answer, turning on his heel and stalking off. Stu watched him go, still grinning to himself.
From that day forward, things…changed.
You didn’t notice the difference at first. If anything, Billy and Stu seemed to get along better, their bickering replaced with an odd sort of pact. They started spending more time together, which you figured was just a natural byproduct of living in close quarters. What you didn’t realize was that they were coordinating their efforts.
Stu would distract you with jokes and games while Billy silently took note of what you liked, using that information to his advantage later. Billy would lure you into long, intense conversations about movies and books, giving Stu time to swoop in with grand gestures—like the time he surprised you with a ridiculously elaborate cake “just because.”
If you were confused by their sudden teamwork, you didn’t show it. You just kept being your usual, oblivious self, completely unaware of the quiet, unspoken truce between them—or the way they both watched you like wolves circling their prey.
It wasn’t perfect. Billy still bristled every time Stu got a little too handsy with you, and Stu couldn’t resist making snide comments whenever Billy monopolized your time. But for the most part, they made it work. Because at the end of the day, they both wanted the same thing.
You.
And if sharing was the only way to keep you close, then so be it.
For now.
