okay here you guys go here is the result of me putting my highest highest interests into a mixing pot for my own self indulgence and serving it as a meal to you. this is kinda just to get the concept out there but if you guys like it let me know I might make more content for it!! (if I did do anything with it I'd probably do ask blog format storytelling because y2kvr is one of my greatest inspirations and it informs a lot of my ideas for this au)

At the expense of a few potentially unwanted programs, a bit of malware, and no peace ever again.

Premise: Ryan Bergara downloads myProfessor, a helpful virtual assistant... ish. This program is unfortunately a dropper for several PUPs (potentially unwanted programs) and malicious programs ranging from annoying to downright sinister. Also the programs are a little bit sentient like a little bit don't worry about it.

Attempts to get an antivirus and rid himself of these programs is... Unsuccessful. Hey who knew downloading supposed free antivirus programs from untrustworthy sources is how you get trojan horses and such on your computer hahaha ha.

Our major players:

myProfessor (aliases: Professor): Virtual Assistant, Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP), Trojan (Persistent Dropper)

(inspirations: Clippit, BonziBuddy)

myProfessor, while not actively malicious software, acts as both a dropper for other malware and is generally annoying on a user experience level. His daily "fun facts" are closer to lectures, detailing sometimes horrific historical events in excessive detail; he routinely blocks important parts of the screen at a rate that comes off as intentional; and while he CAN be helpful, he and the programs that come with him are a nightmare to remove, with files scattered across the system and self-healing capabilities.

DevSec AntiVirus (aliases: Devkit, Devware): Trojan (Persistent Dropper), Rootkit (Kernel-mode)

(inspirations: BakaSoftware, ZeroAccess)

Advertised as a free antivirus/antimalware, DevSec is unfortunately exactly what it claims to protect against. Upon installation and launch, DevSec buries and cloaks itself in the Windows kernel and infects the computer with other malicious software (particularly serving as a host/dropper for the Genie and Asmodeus viruses).

Asmodeus (aliases: DevHelper): Virus

As part of DevSec's payload, the Asmodeus virus is introduced to the system. It immediately begins infecting files on the computer, specifically targeting self-healing files associated with the myProfessor program (ie parts of the program or its associated programs meant to detect if parts of myProfessor is removed and reinstate them). Once it infects all known self-healing files, it triggers logic in the Genie virus for it to begin its payload.

Genie (aliases: ProfeSeek): Virus

(inspirations: Reaper)

As part of DevSec's payload, the Genie virus is introduced to the system, working seemingly in tandem with the Asmodeus virus. The Genie virus, as it infects files, will remove any files it recognizes as part of the myProfessor program or associated with it (ie, the malware it acts as a dropper for). Because of the earlier work of the Asmodeus virus, Genie is able to fully remove myProfessor and all associated programs, which seems to be its primary payload.

Also to be added in the au once I have the time to put more thought into them/we get the rest of puppet history season 5: All the puppet musical guests (ALL of them... pray for me), NotProfessor

The Yume Nikki Fangame Inspiration Folder 2 is here! 

(+ the 2015 original version!)

Apparently the original Yume Nikki Screenshot folder was more useful than I thought.  So, I ended up making another one & reuploading the first one for some help to all those out there looking to make a fangame (or just like looking at other people’s pixel art).

What this is is just a giant folder with a bunch of little folders filled with screenshots of various fangames, sorted by world type.  Most of these aren’t the entire fangame as that’s a bit hard to capture, but instead a taste of a few different worlds.  There’s also some gifs from @yumegifi in addition to stillshots of games!  The quality varies from fangame to fangame, but even the fangames that aren’t the best are good to know about so you don’t make the same mapping mistakes as they did.   Fangames in this pack include:

How to Fight Procrastination in Gamedev: Advice from an Expert Procrastinator

Last winter I wrote a post about motivation on my Russian dev blog. I decided to translate it now, since I think it was pretty good. Also, it's about time I make some devhelp content for this blog, rather than just reblogging from other people.

I have a lot of trouble with procrastination and unmotivation when it comes to gam mak, as someone with ADHD and a busy university schedule as well. These are things I personally do to try and fight it. 

✍️ Advice from a superhuman gamedev friend: try to identify the problem and act accordingly. Don't know what to do with Location X? Brainstorm it, sketch out some ideas, make concept art. No time/energy/motivation to make graphics right now? You can go write out dialogues or event something. Don't like Location Y, or maybe it seems redundant? Go ahead and delete it without mercy. :D

✍️ Make a list of everything you need to do. The more detailed, the better - at least for me. Subheadings help. You won't jump on top of a mountain in one push, but little steps will slowly bring you to the top c: Here’s a piece of my demo checklist. Crossing things out has never felt so good.

✍️ Another thing that is useful to do is to write out your progress. It may be hard to estimate, but useful to track how you're doing! I can't seem to do an overall estimate for my game, so I just wrote it out by level like this. (Also 2/5 is 40%, I know. I’m bad at maths, okay?)

✍️ Get inspired! Play some other games; watch, read or listen to something new. Some people prefer to take everything from their own head (which isn't even quite true), but I am more inclined to absorbing as much information as possible. I live off inspiration from all kinds of things. 

✍️ Share your work! Getting feedback from players is incredibly motivating. All those likes, comments, impressions, fanart even... It makes me really happy and makes me want to keep going, because it's not just for me anymore, someone actually enjoys it! (So for fans: don't be afraid to give feedback to authors, feed us~)  ✍️ Oversharing isn't good, however. It's a psychological thing - if you talk about your plans too much, your brain may feel like they have already been fulfilled and you don't need to do much else. So I am careful about what I share. That's why I don't post too much about my game's plot besides the demo.

✍️ Take a break! Seriously, just put it aside for a day. Don't think about your project, do anything you want. It might clear your mind and bring the inspiration back.

✍️ Watch a cute anime about Overcoming Hardships and Achieving Goals, or just listen to some music from it... Yes, this is the final point of my post because it really does help me. My favourites for this are Love Live! and Little Witch Academia. You might have something else that motivates you. (Please do share, or give recs for similar cute things as well :>)

This is a small PSA. For people that avoid working on their games, one thing to examine is your software. If you're using something complex and intimidating and it's keeping you from getting things done there's no shame in finding better software that's easier for you to use. I just did and I've gone from procrastinating because I was overwhelmed (I THOUGHT I was just lazy) to making a lot of progress easily. There's no shame in doing what feels best for you, including in game dev!

First, you log into your Magento account and go to System > Configuration > Developer page, switch to Website view. 

Next, you can copy this code to enable the template:

However, there are many developers/users after following all steps that they still cannot enable from magento2 back-end section, it’s not showing.

If you cannot change the value through the Admin Panel, you can search for the value on app/etc/env.php

In this file, you can check template_hints_storefront and template_hints_admin to change the value.

Firstly, you go to Dashboard -> Stores -> Configuration -> Advanced -> Developer.

And, next, you need to set Main Website in your Default store view.

Then, you can check your Configuration again whether Magento Template Hints working or not.

If still, your Magento 2 Template Hints not showing, you can open vendor/magento/module-developer/Model/TemplateEngine/Plugin/DebugHints.php

write this code inside afterCreate function : (at the start, above the storecode line)
