When you find a post/blog by someone who seems knowledgeable about your understudied chronic illness and you get hopeful that they might have advice for symptom management but then they start going into how using essential oils to "detoxify" your body can improve symptoms -_-
#like great i don't trust literally anything else you said now#it's the worst when the quack shit is tacked on at the end cause it gets you all hopeful for a moment#like man i just want ways to manage post-exertional malaise#i get why so many people with chronic illnesses are taken in by pseudoscience cause it offers an easy fix that real medicine won't give#and the people hawking it often give the appearance of listening to your woes more than most doctors do#but it's still frustrating#like no this isn't going to help you and may in fact make you worse. you've been scammed at best and lured into a pyramid scheme at worst#i never see any of these fucks properly warn people either that if you have pets you absolutely cannot use most of those products#i hate the term ''detox'' the most bc it's the most demonstrably bullshit one out there#like do you have a working liver and kidneys? congrats! you don't need detoxing#and if you don't well that's a big problem and you probably need an organ transplant#medical detoxing is called ''dialysis''

The liver is a vital organ that plays a crucial role in maintaining good health. It is responsible for filtering toxins from the body, producing bile, regulating hormones and metabolism, and storing energy. A healthy liver is essential for overall well-being, which is why many people turn to liver supplements to support liver function. Lean More about: Liver Supplements: Are They Really Working?

My dear lgbt+ kids,Â
When it comes to healthcare, youâll occasionally encounter things presented as an opinion or as something up for debate - when thereâs actually clear scientific facts on those topics.Â
You can probably think of some general examples off the top of your head, like:Â
Vaccines (They save lives. In fact, they are one of the most effective tools for reducing mortality rates worldwide)Â
Pasteurized milk (Raw milk is not healthier than pasteurized milk, itâs actually unsafe. Pasteurization kills harmful bacteria which can cause severe illness)Â
Fluoride (Water fluoridation is a safe and effective public health measure)Â
Climate change (It exists and directly impacts respiratory and cardiovascular health)
âDetoxâ (The liver and kidneys detox your body naturally; detox teas, juice cleanses etc. are unnecessary)Â
Cancer (Cancer isnât just one disease, itâs an umbrella term for many different diseases and thatâs why itâs very, very difficult, if not impossible, to just find the one simple fix to end cancer forever)Â
Sugar substitutes (They have been extensively studied and are safe for consumption within recommended limits)Â
Thereâs a lot of misinformation out there and it often thrives because it plays on fears (such as the natural fear of illness, dangerous substances and life-threatening side effects). Nobody wants to willingly put themselves or their loved ones into danger - but this absolutely natural desire for protection can be exploited.Â
Some common tactics for that are:Â
relying on personal anecdotes (emotional stories often feel more reliable or trustworthy than cold, hard data, even though they arenât)Â
appealing to those who distrust authority (the suggestion that governments/scientists/corporations/âtheyâ are conspiring against you feels trustworthy if it seemingly âconfirmsâ fears you already had)Â
misusing scientific terminology (Complex-sounding terms can make something appear credible and well-researched, even if these terms are used completely incorrectly)Â
giving quick, easy answers or fixes to complex problems (health is a complicated, multifaceted topic and thereâs oftentimes no easy-cut answer to why a certain person gets sick or if a now-healthy person will still be as healthy in 10 years. This unpredictability can feel scary, and oversimplified answers can offer comfort)Â
While health myths impact anyone, they disproportionately affect marginalized groups - for example chronically ill or disabled people but also our community. Â
Thatâs because health myths (or outright health lies) can perpetuate stigma and create barriers to accessing evidence-based care.Â
Myths specifically targeting queer health often follow the same patterns we talked about above. Let's take a closer look at some common topics and break down the facts behind them:Â
Pedophilia (There is no evidence linking sexual orientation or gender identity to pedophilia or predatory behavior. This myth is rooted in bigotry and perpetuates harmful stereotypes)Â
HIV/AIDS (itâs not âthe gay diseaseâ or even a âpunishment for being gayâ. Itâs a virus that can affect people of all genders and sexual orientations)Â
Regret rates (Regret rates for gender-affirming care are very low, even lower than for getting a new hip or a tattoo.)Â
Regret rates, 2.0 (âRegretâ does not automatically translate to âthey were wrong about being transâ. A trans person could regret medical decisions for a multitude of reasons (even external factors like a lack of social support or experience of harassment) and still continue to identify as trans)Â
Mental illness (The higher rate of mental health issues in queer people is caused by external factors like discrimination and social exclusion, not by the identity itself. Being queer is not a mental illness.)Â
Conversion therapy (It doesnât work. It also causes severe psychological harm including an increased risk of depression, anxiety, and suicide)Â
Treating these myths as not âonlyâ homophobia and transphobia but also as health misinformation may feel nitpicky, but I think itâs important. If we donât, itâs easy to dismiss them as merely a matter of ânot accidentally saying something offensiveâ - but thereâs more at stake than hurt feelings. Health misinformation can prevent people from getting the medical care they need and put their lives at risk. And that applies to âTrans people often regret their surgeriesâ as much as it does to âCovid vaccines are dangerousâ.Â
So, look out for those typical patterns and warning signs - not only in the general âhealth and wellnessâ area but also in discussions about queer issues.Â
With all my love,Â
Your Tumblr DadÂ

Seriously, the number of people I've had to explain to that Lemsip (a popular hot lemon cold and flu remedy in the UK) contains paracetamol to is insane. It's written right there on the box, and you gotta take that into account if you're also taking paracetamol tablets. Same for many other "cold and flu" remedies and capsules.
Liver damage from paracetamol is cumulative and potentially fatal.
It also uses some of the same pathways for detoxification as alcohol which is why you should never mix them. And that includes with a hangover: If you're hanging out your arse and you need a painkiller, reach for the ibuprofen instead. Do not touch the paracetamol, you're still processing ethanol and it's downstream metabolites and combining that with paracetamol causes liver damage.
PSA:
Acetaminophen/paracetamol has a hard stop upper dose limit, above which it becomes extremely toxic.
That limit is 4g (8 âextra strengthâ (500mg) tablets) in 24 hours (about 2 tablets every 6 hours).
A single dose of 22 extra strength tablets can kill you.
Taking 12 or more tablets per day for more than a week can also kill you (this is about 3 tablets every 6 hours).
Symptoms of overdose take up to 24 hours to manifest, and are fairly difficult to distinguish from other problems. They include abdominal pain (especially right upper quadrant), nausea, malaise, and confusion.
The antidote (n-acetylcystine) must be given within 8hours of ingestion in order to be useful.
After 10 hours the only thing that will work is a liver transplant.
You might think âwhy would I ever accidentally take so much?â
Well, acetaminophen is in almost everything in the cold/flu/pain aisle. Migraine combos like Excedrin, cold and flu combos like NyQuil, basically anything that says ânon-aspirin pain reliefâ, and anything thatâs branded as a fever reducer. Itâs all probably acetaminophen/paracetamol.
So the goal of this post is to get you to read the labels on your medications. Because taking taking Tylenol and NyQuil together for a week (like you might if you had the flu) could kill you.
#human health#safety#can't remember the specifics but it's something to do with ethanol and/or its metabolites sharing a common pathway for detox#and I think it's that they take precedent over paracetamol so what would be a safe dose as your body processes it#quickly becomes a dangerous dosage that shithouses your liver#or vice versa? either way the effect of the both is like you took a massive overdose of one of them#a lot of drugs are safe at the doses they are because your liver is detoxifying them rapidly and that dose is what works to keep levels#high enough to be effective before your body clears them out#if you impede the detoxification process then that dose is basically an OD#same kind of reason spot-on flea treatments for small dogs can kill cats of the same weight#cat livers are shite at detox so they need like about 1/10 the dose of some drugs for an effective dose#it's like...imagine you're filling a bucket with a hole in the bottom that causes the liquid to drain at a set rate#to fill the bucket to a certain level you need to add liquid faster than it drains#but if you plug that hole and add the same amount at the same speed the bucket will overflow

M A S T E R L I S T
for losing as much as possible in a short amount of time (cuz we are all desperate), from me - a biotechnologist, who relapsed (the demons never leave)
the tips i am about to share with all my girliepops are all based on science and work; if you have any other tips, feel free to share in the comments, so we can have all the tips in one place!
⢠eat your meals from smaller sized plates, to trick your brain you are eating more
⢠cut up your food into small pieces
⢠chew every bite at least 10-15 times, until it is a purÊe consistency; this way you will be eating slower and give your brain more time to realise you are full
⢠sip water with a lemon slice between your bites
⢠focus on eating vegetables and protein, limit carbs
⢠drink a lot of water, and I mean a lot
⢠add lemon slices to your water to make it have some flavour; also the lemon juice in water before your meals will help reduce the glucose spike => less insulin released from liver => less absorbed glucose from carbs/sugars/starches => less fat on your body
⢠move for 10 mins right after eating - walk, do calf raises, some light movement so all the glucose can be used before getting stored as fat on your body
⢠drink tea - green tea, detox tea, whatever tea, without a sweetener
⢠do not drink diet sodas/colas - or any kind of liquid that is not water/tea - these are useless calories, why would you do that to yourselves?! even if it says 0 cals - this s#it is so bad for you, and the carbonation makes you feel bloated like a god damn whale! ditch the diet sodas girliepops
⢠implement some kind of movement every day - walking, pilates, yoga, dance workouts, resistance bands workouts or stretching
⢠do not weigh yourself everyday - due to hormones our weigh fluctuates every day and this will just make you feel bad if you lose and gain 1-2 legs everyday depending on your menstrual cycle, water weight and so on.. weigh yourself every 2 weeks.
⢠do not drink fruit juice - this is such a scam; hear me out: how many oranges does it take to make 1 glass of orange juice? around 3. can you eat three whole oranges in one sitting? i bet no. then why would you drink 3 oranges? when you make fruit juice, all the fibre and the pulp is removed, leaving you with just the juice with all the sugar in it (in the form of glucose and fructose) so you are basically drinking pure sugar, which turns into fat⌠just eat your damned fruit, instead of drinking a bunch of empty calories
⢠take red cranberry supplements - they are usually taken for UTIs, but the red cranberry has diuretic effect, and will make you pee your water weight out; please do not take more than 2 pills and remember to drink plenty of water so you donât damage your kidneys!!!!
⢠take probiotics - this will ensure your gut health stays good while restricting foods, so you donât end up constipated and bloated
⢠i personally do not eat dairy products (i am lactose intolerant) - they are full of hormones from the cows, give you acne and inflammation, and the protein in it is not worth it considering the amount of fat these products have; skip the dairy if you can
⢠if you drink a lot of coffee, remember to drink plenty of water! coffee has a diuretic effect and if you are not drinking more water, it will make you retain whatever water is in your body, leading to water weight gain
⢠if you end up binging, do so mindfully - do not give in to all the food, just have a piece of chocolate, not the whole chocolate bar; have a piece of cake, not the whole cake; then get back on track and try to exercise as much as possible to burn the excess calories
⢠i think this is obvious but let me say it just in case - in order to lose weight, you have to be on a calorie deficit - meaning you burn/use more calories than you consume; but!! here is the trick - you have to maintain low calorie diet, do not âď¸ve for more than 2 days, as this will f#ck up your metabolism - your body goes into fight or flight response, meaning everything you eat after f4sting will remain on your body as a reserve of food, in case you end up âď¸ving again; so have your veggies and protein (chicken breasts, white fish)
⢠keep yourself busy so you donât think about f0od - study, work, read books, journal, whatever it is, your day has to be full of activities do you can forget to e4t
⢠reject offered food - say you already ate / yr not hungry / you are allergic to some ingredient / you have a bad migraine and this will make it worse / or take the food and say you will have it later and just give it to someone else (pls donât throw in trash, do not waste food)
⢠when eating with family / boyfriend - place food in a smaller plate, cut up food into very small pieces and eat very slowly and chew every bite for a long time, sip water between every few bites, then say you are full and cannot eat anymore / that you ate a bit earlier and yr full
⢠when eating, eat your veggies first, then your protein and eat the smallest amount of carbs - always leave leftover carbs in your plate
⢠do not eat any snacks - no cereal bars, no cereal, no chips, no crisps, no crackers, no salty sticks, just do not eat snacks!
⢠if you feel like eating - drink water first, then have veggies (cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, radishes, etc) or fruit (apples, citrus, any kind of berries)
⢠if you are having breakfast - always eat a savoury breakfast - eggs, avocado, veggies etc; never eat a sweet breakfast - cereal, croissants, pancakes, etc, this will spike up your glucose levels and all that sugar will turn into fat; a sweet breakfast will make you feel tired and exhausted all day, leading you to eat more
⢠wear a waist trainer - do so for no more than 8hrs a day; this will also help you have smaller portions of food, as it wonât allow your stomach to expand
⢠do not purge - this is very bad for your teeth and overall health; the stomach acid is very strong and every time you purge, your teeth are getting damaged; just donât overeat in the first place and have self control!
this is all i have for right now; if i think of anything else, i will add later / make another post; if you have anything to add to this list - go ahead and do so in the comments below
remember, stay safe xx

Astro observations: Health aspects from the 6th house đŤ
6th house in Aries: Be mindful of strong reactions, impulses and emotions as these could trigger high blood pressure, stress or unwanted headaches. Possible problems associated with the adrenal glands if health is not good. The person could be nearsighted/farsighted. Teeth issues and sensitive gums are common with this placement.Â
6th house in Taurus: Be careful with âburnoutâ and try to keep a healthy work-life balance. The individual is prone to respiratory conditions, jaw and neck pain/problems, weight gain (associated with thyroid issues). Thyroid disease. Problems with your voice or throat. Take it easy and follow a rhythm that honors your needs.Â
6th house in Gemini: Allergies, infections, asthma, cough, breathing issues. Arms, hands and fingers might be sensitive. Anxiety and nervousness caused by too many unorganized/unwanted thoughts. Be careful with hand, arm and/or shoulder injuries.Â
6th house in Cancer: Sensitive breasts/chest area. Inflammation associated with water/fluid retention. Pay close attention to your salt and fat consumption. Intolerance to different ingredients. It is vital for individuals with this placement to express their emotions as this can feel like a detox process for a 6th house cancer.
6th house in Leo: Hear what your heart is telling you. Donât let stress or anger take you 'over the edge'. Similar to Aries in this house, it is common for the native to suffer from high blood pressure if a balanced lifestyle is not followed; a healthy diet will help this native tremendously. Be careful with hernias and your spine. Back pain/injuries. Spend more time outside.Â
6th house in Virgo: Food sensitivities. Problems with digestion. Pay attention to sugar, fats, starches and the way your body reacts to them. Pancreatitis. Bloating associated with food intolerances. Meditation is recommended to calm an active mind and a healthy relationship with food will help with digestive issues.Â
6th house in Libra: Lumbar pain. Problems with the lower back. Sensitivity to salt. Kidney stones. Insulin resistance. Diabetes. Partnerships have a big influence in your life; stress or strong (negative) emotions resulting from these relationships can have a big impact in your health.Â
6th house in Scorpio: Constipation. Bladder/Urinary tract infections. Issues with libido/sex hormones. Cystitis (inflammation of the bladder; can cause pain or/and a burning sensation when peeing). Problems with the colon and elimination systems. Let go of any guilt/shame around your sexuality and keep a healthy relationship with your needs.Â
6th house in Sagittarius: Issues associated with the pituitary gland. Hip mobility problems, pain or injuries. Obesity. For optimal liver health, alcohol and stress levels need to be monitored and, if possible, reduced to a minimum. Yoga can help ease stiffness around the hips and thighs.Â
6th house in Capricorn: Knee pain. Injuries/procedures can cause significant scarring. Hair loss or scalp issues. Arthritis and joint pain. If your body is telling you to slow down, honor it and rest. Movement in every way is beneficial for the native. Be careful with your bones.Â
6th house in Aquarius: Varicose veins. Frequent cramps. Arteries and veins might need to be monitored closely, as the native is prone to circulation problems. Calf pain. Stress, nervousness, anxiety, insomnia. Be careful with addictions. Stay hydrated.Â
6th house in Pisces: Problems with the lymphatic system. Feet pain, inflammation, discomfort, injuries. Plantar fasciitis. Be careful with falls. Sleep problems, nightmares. Sadness that can lead into deep depression. Time alone is necessary. Make sure youâre getting the hours of sleep that your body requires to work harmoniously.Â
Stay tuned for more! :)

herbal teas guide â
đżđ having conversations with my mutuals all over the world, i was stunned to find out that not every country/culture practices drinking herbal teas for health issues. as a slavic person i decided to create this little guide because â and i'm saying this as a skeptical person who hates superstitions â they really work. đđż
mint tea (mentha piperita) is for digestion and relaxation chamomile tea (matricaria chamomilla) is for digestive system horsetail tea (equisetum arvense) is for skin, hair, nails condition, remineralization and circulatory system linden tea (tilia cordata) is for a cold lemon balm tea (melissa officinalis) is for relaxation and sleep nettle tea (uritca dioica) is for urinary tract sage tea (salvia officinalis) is for when your throat or teeth hurt fennel tea (funiculum vulgare) is for digestive system white mulberry tea (morus alba) is for carbohydrate metabolism pansy tea (viola tricolor) is for clean skin and body detox purge tea (cistus incanus) is for immunity hawthorn tea (crataegus monogyna) is for heart and circulatory system damian leaves tea (turnera diffusa) is for anxiety and libido dandelion tea (taraxacum officinale) is for liver, stomach and digestion st john's wort tea (hypericum perforatum) is for emotional balance, good mood, digestive system and kidney function
đżđ to create this guide i was using a booklet from my pharmacy store. if you google them, you will find out that each of these have even more usage methods than the ones listed. đđż
đżđ if you're from a different country/culture and you know more herbal teas like these, feel free to add them. đđż

honestly Iâd like to see more weird interesting interpretations of the effects a magical or âhumans are space orcsâ environment could have on a chronically ill character. Like, I have a Ton of random sensitivities that could absolutely screw me over should I end up in Fantasy/Space/Pandora Land, such as:
Mold sensitivity absolutely SCREWING with someone in Bioluminescent Magical Mushroom Land. They walk through the archway or up the path or whatever into the magical tree place and just Immediately pass out. If theyâre brought there unconscious, they simply donât wake up, and eventually when their friends wake up they puzzle together that the illumination for the whole building is just Mushrooms in the Walls.
Someone dealing with a detox issue who currently has a ton of heavy metals in their system walking underneath a floating island being held aloft by magnetism and just bowling over in agony as the current pulls the metals from where their body stowed them into their bloodstream. Iâve sorta had this happen to me, I tried one of those ârun a magnetic current thru your body so the metals are dislodged and your body can flush them outâ things, but I didnât know I was dealing with a complete shutdown of the systems that remove toxins from your body (kidney and liver and sweat and more all of it was in complete shutdown I was actively dying dw about it-) so all it did was shoot a bajillion little capsules of poison into my blood with nowhere for them to go and I almost passed out and felt like crud for the next week.
Moon sensitivity being So Much Worse on a planet with multiple moons. Peopleâs hormones and periods and chronic pain spiking randomly with basically no warning or schedule it would SUCK. A character with bipolar is So Much Worse on that planet and none of her alien friends know whatâs happening.
Spikes and drops in barometric pressure due to magically summoned storms causing severe chronic pain flare-ups in either the mage summoning the storm or one of their allies whom they didnât know had joint problems. Same with a planet with a very unstable atmosphere.
Vitamin or nutrient deficiency, or genetic conditions that prevent someone from metabolizing the nutrients in their food and necessitate supplements. This would be HUGE. Can you imagine a human character with anemia, or low vitamin D, or an issue metabolizing folic acid in space? Or in a medieval world that canât accommodate their needs? Just an alien crew watching in worried confusion as their human slowly grows sluggish, twitchy, forgetful and snappish during an unexpected long haul to a distant outpost. When asked whatâs wrong, they say theyâre fine, or that their nutrient intake has just been low recently, but theyâve been eating the same things they always have. The ship medic does a brain scan and realizes their grey matter is cannibalizing itself, and he canât figure out why. The human stops exercising, and when they do, one of their crew mates notices they arenât sweating anymore. One day they run into the room of another crewmate with a padded floor nest, curl themselves into it, manage to stammer out a âdonât worry, donât tell others. Iâm okâ before they start thrashing. Finally they arrive on base and the human medic is like âOh dang. You didnât refill your folinic supplements before you came here did you? Dang. weâre gonna need to keep you on a higher dose for a bit to try to make sure your immune and detox systems donât crash. How bad were the seizures?â and every alien in the crew is Horrified.
Someone who needs assistive devices but only occasionally has a bad day halfway through the Magic Quest and realizes in horror that they forgot their cane/ canât currently access their chair. Someone who takes muscle relaxers or painkillers thrice or so a month having a huge flare-up and being immobile for an entire day while rushing to Stop The Evil Lord.
Someone who needs excess oxygen always walking around in an atmospheric suit, even in human-friendly atmospheres, because theyâre self-conscious about the breathing tube.
Someone with POTS trying to keep their salt intake up in fantasy medieval Europe where salt is tricky to get, or a space setting where salt is a minor poison to most species.
#molten rambles#Look Iâm right about this this is Fascinating#chronically ill#chronic pain#chronic illness#fantasy#humans are space orcs

detoxification and behavioural addiction
a detox, short for detoxification, refers to the process of removing toxic substances from the body. medically, detoxing is an essential step in addiction recovery. it helps individuals safely eliminate toxic and addictive substances from their bodies while managing withdrawal symptoms. itâs crucial for those with physical and psychological signs of substance dependence.
i believe, personally, that everyone has a 'drug of choice'. this isn't necessarily a substance but can be a hobby or activity. even a person. addictive behaviour arises from a desire to escape an undesirable reality through fantasy living. daydreams about a better life can drive these behaviours.
a negative example of a 'drug of choice' could be excessive eating. it's a compulsive behaviour and a coping mechanism for some individuals. some studies suggest that the brain's reward pathways involved in addiction may also play a role in binge eating.
a positive example of a 'drug of choice' is someone who dances, compulsively and as a coping mechanism. this person may use dance as an outlet - to express themself. it allows them to focus on the present moment and can reduce stress and anxiety.
obviously, this behaviour becomes an issue when it is dangerous, and excessive. this is a reason to detox.
too often, the word 'detox' is thrown around online, without many people understanding what the process actually is.
your body naturally eliminates toxins through organs like the liver, kidneys, digestive system, skin, and lungs. no special diets or expensive supplements are required for this process. detox diets often include laxatives, diuretics, teas, and other products. however, evidence doesnât support their effectiveness for toxin elimination or sustainable weight loss. your healthy organs already handle detoxification efficiently.
detox is only the initial step towards recovery. it's super important to seek professional help if needed, find people to talk to, understand your vulnerabilities and triggers, and set boundaries.
the key is to find a healthy outlet, your 'drug of choice'.
finding a healthy outlet involves discovering activities that nourish your well-being and provide positive emotional release. consider your interests, passions, and what brings you joy. reflect on past experiences - what activities made you feel fulfilled.
some ideas for different activities include:
running
dancing
playing music
gardening
yoga
cooking
pay attention to how different activities make you feel. choose something that energizes you rather than drains you. mix physical, mental, and social outlets. avoid overcommitting - balance is key.
something to be aware of is the mind-body connection. it's the intricate interplay between our mental and physical health. it recognizes that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours significantly impact our overall well-being.

As a vegan, what is your opinion on eating honey?
Edit: mixed up some words whoops
Glad you asked about this cause people dont look into this one enough and write it off as nonsense. -Farmed honeybees don't pollinate, because they have been selectively bred to produce the most nectar. People think that bees intentionally pollinate flowers, which is untrue. Bees are only trying to make honey, and the pollen that they carry while collecting nectar gets cross-contaminated between flowers which is pollination. Farmed honeybees bring almost all the pollen back to their hives so very little is deposited on other flowers.
-Farmed honeybees displace wild bees who are the ones actually responsible for pollination. So honeybees are pretty harmful for ecosystems (note that I said honeybees, not bees).
-Drone bees are crushed to get their semen, because the natural process is far too slow and random for it to be profitable. And beekeepers (not all, mind you) are known to burn hives after taking their honey once winter sets in for monetary reasons. Or some choose to gas those hives, and then buy new bees for the next season instead of keeping the original hive alive through winter.
-Throwing hives on trucks and driving them around is horrible for their health and likely the biggest cause of colony collapse. -In more organic local raw honey type products, there are definitely dead bee bits in it because its not filtered or processed. And they are still contributing to most of the same problems listed above.
-There's a lot of misinformation about the health benefits of honey that annoy the shit out of me and it needs to stop along with all the other health misinformation surrounding various foods and products. Tea is another example. "Oh youll stop aging it detoxes your liver your hair will be shinier youll be more fertile" gurl stfu its water and caffeine.
ALTERNATIVES THAT ARE WAY BETTER- agave syrup, maple syrup, brown rice syrup, molasses/black treacle, barley malt syrup, date syrup

Is it possible for Gallifryans to get drunk on normal, human alcohol? We already know they get all wibbly wobbly on ginger, but we do see the Tenth Doctor (supposedly) get drunk in the episode "Girl in the Fireplace". Considering he "sobered up" rather quickly, do Gallifryans control how quickly their body processes alcohol?
Do Gallifreyans control how quickly their body processes alcohol?
đFast Metabolism, ButâŚ
A Gallifreyan's liver is like a high-performance engine when it comes to metabolising alcohol. They can process spirits faster than you can say 'Raxacoricofallapatorius', meaning they can usually avoid the clumsy antics and morning-after regrets that accompany human drinking sessions. But, just like any engine, push it too hard for too long, and it's going to start sputtering.
đ§ Nervous System Override
Imagine you're at an intergalactic rave, your bloodstream swimming with the finest spirits from across the galaxy. As a Gallifreyan, you can instruct your nervous system to initiate a biochemical cleanup on aisle 'you'. With just a thought, you can command your liver to shift gears, accelerating the breakdown of acetaldehyde into harmless substances that your body can easily flush away. This is like having a highly efficient, internal cleanup crew on standby.
â ď¸When the System FailsâŚ
But even Time Lords have their limits. Picture this: the party's been great, and you've drunk enough to fill your TARDIS swimming pool. Now, your body's internal command centre, usually so adept at managing your physiological state, is, well, utterly sloshed.
Your attempts to signal a detox might get lost in the ether, like a distress call floating aimlessly in the void. Your once-infallible nervous system fails to muster the coherence needed to initiate the cleanup crew. The hangover that follows is a testament to the fact that, despite their near-omnipotent command over time and space, Gallifreyans are not immune to the universal law of cause and effect.
đŤThe Gingerol Conundrum
Then there's gingerol, the bane of any Gallifreyan's night out. The gingerol makes every sip of alcohol hit like a meteor, and there's absolutely no chance of that cleanup crew being sober enough to help.
đŤ So...
While a Gallifreyan might join in on the human ritual of clinking glasses and downing shots, they have an alien ace up their sleeve to avoid the aftereffects. Just keep that metabolism in check and move the ginger beer away unless the Gallifreyan wants to really make an idiot of themselves and pay for it in the morning.

How to Purify Your Blood Naturally: A Comprehensive Guide to Detoxification
The health of our blood plays a pivotal role in our overall well-being. Blood transports essential nutrients, oxygen, and immune cells throughout the body while also carrying waste products to be eliminated. However, due to environmental toxins, poor dietary habits, and sedentary lifestyles, our blood can become burdened with impurities, impacting our health. Fortunately, nature provides several ways to help purify blood and promote overall detoxification. In this article, we will explore effective and natural methods for purifying your blood and achieving optimal health.
1. Hydration: The Foundation of Detoxification
Water is one of the most crucial elements in purifying your blood. Staying hydrated helps flush out toxins and waste products through the kidneys, supporting the blood's natural detoxification process. When your body is properly hydrated, it can more effectively filter impurities from the bloodstream.
How to do it:
Drink at least 8â10 cups of water a day, more if you're active or in a hot climate.
Add lemon or cucumber to your water for added detox benefits.
Herbal teas like dandelion or ginger tea can also aid in hydration and blood purification.
2. Eat a Blood-Purifying Diet
The food you eat directly impacts the quality of your blood. A nutrient-rich diet full of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals helps combat free radicals, reduce inflammation, and promote the production of healthy blood cells. Focus on consuming foods that support the liver, kidneys, and circulatory system.
Blood-Purifying Foods to Include:
Leafy Greens: Spinach, kale, and other leafy greens are rich in chlorophyll, which helps cleanse the blood and support liver function.
Beets: Beets contain betalains, powerful antioxidants that assist in liver detoxification and blood purification.
Garlic: Known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, garlic supports blood circulation and the removal of toxins.
Turmeric: Curcumin, the active compound in turmeric, is a potent anti-inflammatory and detoxifier that supports liver health.
Berries: Rich in antioxidants, berries like blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries help protect the blood from oxidative stress and improve overall blood circulation.
Foods to Avoid:
Processed Foods: These often contain harmful additives, preservatives, and unhealthy fats that can contribute to toxic buildup in the body.
Refined Sugars and Carbs: Excess sugar can lead to inflammation and imbalances in blood sugar levels, affecting blood purity.
Excessive Alcohol and Caffeine: These substances can overwork your liver and kidneys, hindering their ability to filter toxins effectively.
3. Herbal Remedies for Blood Purification
Many herbs have been used for centuries to purify the blood and promote detoxification. These herbs contain natural compounds that support liver function, improve circulation, and boost overall health.
Key Herbs for Blood Purification:
Cilantro: Known for its ability to remove heavy metals and toxins from the blood, cilantro is a powerful herb for detoxification.
Dandelion Root: This herb acts as a natural diuretic, helping to flush out toxins through the kidneys and promoting liver health.
Nettle Leaf: Nettle is an anti-inflammatory herb that supports the kidneys and improves blood circulation.
Red Clover: Often used to promote blood circulation, red clover is also known for its ability to purify the blood and cleanse the lymphatic system.
You can consume these herbs as teas, tinctures, or capsules. Always consult a healthcare provider before starting any herbal supplementation, especially if you are on medication or have health concerns.
4. Exercise: Boosting Circulation and Detoxification
Physical activity is a natural way to support blood purification. Exercise increases blood flow and promotes the elimination of toxins through sweat, boosting circulation and encouraging the release of waste products.
Benefits of Exercise for Blood Purification:
Increases circulation: This helps the blood carry nutrients and remove toxins more efficiently.
Stimulates lymphatic drainage: Exercise helps move lymphatic fluid, which aids in detoxifying the blood and removing waste products.
Improves heart health: Regular exercise strengthens the heart, which ensures better blood circulation throughout the body.
How to do it:
Engage in moderate exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. Activities like walking, swimming, cycling, or yoga are great options.
Consider incorporating deep breathing exercises into your routine, which can help increase oxygen flow to the bloodstream.
5. Detoxing with Fasting and Intermittent Fasting
Fasting is a time-honored method of detoxification. Intermittent fasting, where you cycle between periods of eating and fasting, allows the body to rest and repair, promoting the elimination of toxins from the blood.
Benefits of Fasting for Blood Purification:
Promotes autophagy: This is the body's process of cleaning out damaged cells, which includes purging toxins from the bloodstream.
Improves liver function: Fasting gives the liver time to process and eliminate toxins from the blood.
Reduces inflammation: Fasting can help reduce systemic inflammation, promoting a healthier circulatory system.
If youâre new to fasting, consider starting with intermittent fasting (such as the 16/8 method) or periodic juice cleanses, and consult with a healthcare provider before making significant changes to your eating habits.
6. Reduce Exposure to Toxins
To maintain a clean and purified blood supply, it is important to minimize your exposure to harmful environmental toxins. Pollution, heavy metals, and chemicals from household products can contribute to a buildup of toxins in the bloodstream.
Tips to Reduce Toxin Exposure:
Choose organic foods: Organic produce is less likely to be contaminated with pesticides and chemicals.
Avoid plastic: Reduce the use of plastic containers, which can leach chemicals like BPA into food and drinks.
Use natural cleaning products: Opt for non-toxic cleaning agents to reduce your exposure to harmful chemicals.
7. Sleep and Stress Management
Both sleep and stress play a vital role in your bodyâs detoxification process. Poor sleep and chronic stress can weaken your immune system, disrupt hormone levels, and make it harder for your body to purify blood effectively.
Tips for Better Sleep and Stress Management:
Aim for 7â9 hours of quality sleep per night.
Practice stress-reducing activities such as meditation, deep breathing, or mindfulness to help lower cortisol levels, which can otherwise hinder the bodyâs detox efforts.
Limit screen time before bed to improve sleep quality.
Purifying your blood is essential for maintaining overall health and vitality. By incorporating healthy lifestyle practices like staying hydrated, eating a detox-friendly diet, exercising regularly, and using herbs for detoxification, you can support your body's natural cleansing processes. Additionally, reducing exposure to toxins, managing stress, and ensuring proper sleep all contribute to cleaner, healthier blood. With these holistic strategies, you can promote blood purity and achieve optimal health.
Remember, itâs always wise to consult a healthcare professional before starting any new health regimen, especially if you have existing medical conditions or are taking medications.
