Ja, sehr interessant. Ferraris Zähler muss es heißen, mit drei R. Die 600 Watt Regelung ist absurd. Die Genehmigungsanforderungen auch. Wieso benötigt man eine Genehmigung um einen massenproduzierten Wechselrichter von 2kW anzuschließen, für einen zwei kW wasserkocher benötigt man keine Genehmigung. Cheers Detlef

2018–2022

Ich bringe die Energiewende voran und werde dabei versehentlich zum egoistischen Stromverschwender

Im Zuge unserer eigenen Energiewende fange ich 2018 damit an, Photovoltaik selbst auf das Hausdach zu schrauben und erweitere die Anlage über die Jahre schrittweise. Ich bin mit dem Ergebnis hochzufrieden, habe mich aber dadurch in eine unmögliche Situation manövriert, in der ich 2022 sogar Strom verschwenden muss, indem ich elektrisch heize, damit ich nicht in Teufels Küche komme. Ausgerechnet 2022, wenn alle aufgrund der Energiekrise Strom sparen sollen!

Unser Haus hatte 2018 etwa 500 W Ruhestromverbrauch (was ganz schön viel ist, aber davon später). Wenn man wenigstens diesen Verbrauch tagsüber im Sommer durch Sonne abdeckt, müsste man bei sehr konservativer Rechnung etwa 300 EUR/Jahr an Stromkosten sparen. Das Haus hat kein Süd-Dach, sondern nur ein Ost-West-Dach, aber das bedeutet eigentlich nur, dass man ein paar mehr Module installieren muss, diese dafür aber dann von Sonnenaufgang bis zum Sonnenuntergang produzieren und nicht nur mittags.

Ich habe also auf jede Dachseite vier Module à 285 W installiert und mir den damals billigsten Wechselrichter aus China gekauft (500 EUR, 1500 W). Dachziegel abflexen, Dachhaken montieren, Aluprofile anschrauben, Module draufschrauben. Keine besonders schöne Arbeit, aber wenn man sich mit einem Klettergurt und kurzem Seil konsequent sichert, wenn man auf dem Dach ist, dann fällt höchstens mal ein Werkzeug oder ein paar Schrauben vom Dach, was auf dem eigenen Grundstück unproblematisch ist. Der elektrische Anschluss ist ebenfalls simpel (ich arbeite in einem Elektrik-nahen Beruf). Die Anmeldung war mir zu undurchsichtig und kompliziert. So große bürokratische Hürden für so wenig Strom. Das System ist offensichtlich (aus Gründen) nicht auf Selbstbauer ausgelegt.

Schon im ersten Jahr zeigt sich, dass die Anlage etwa 1300 W im Sommer am Mittag liefert und die Stromrechnung um 25% schrumpft. Mit seinen 1500 W ist der Wechselrichter noch nicht ganz ausgelastet, ich erweitere die Anlage also um je ein weiteres Modul auf jeder Dachseite. Ich habe gelegentlich ein kleines, nagendes schlechtes Gewissen, da 1500 W ja wirklich deutlich mehr als die eigentlich erlaubten 600 W sind und die Anlage weiterhin eigentlich illegal ist. Außerdem stellt sich heraus, dass der Stromzähler, ein alter Ferariszähler, keine Rücklaufsperre hat. Das bedeutet, dass er rückwärts dreht, wenn das Haus weniger Strom verbraucht, als die Sonne liefert. Das ist tatsächlich schon ziemlich verboten, da man ja nicht nur Strom bezahlt, sondern Steuern, Netzgebühren und was weiß ich was alles, die der Stromzähler mittags rückabwickelt. Aber die Energiemenge ist in der Summe wirklich unerheblich – schon das Kochen eines normalen Mittagessens kostet so viel Energie, dass das bisschen Rückwärtsdrehen im Rauschen untergeht.

2021 streiche ich den alten Carport und beschließe, sein hässliches Dach durch Solarmodule zu ersetzen. Ich investiere also noch mal in 18 teiltransparente Module und einen teuren 10-kW-Wechselrichter, der auch einen zukünftigen Ausbau um eine Solarbatterie unterstützt. Dazu gehört ein Stromzähler im Sicherungskasten, der mit dem Wechselrichter kommuniziert. So kann der Wechselrichter verhindern, dass Strom eingespeist wird. Jetzt ist die Anlage zwar immer noch illegal, aber macht wenigstens keinen Ärger im Stromnetz.

Nun ist oft so viel Überschuss da, dass ich eigentlich wirklich gerne die Solarbatterie ergänzen möchte. Leider ist sie sehr teuer und die Preise sinken nur sehr langsam. Ich beobachte die Situation im Herbst 2021 genau und bin immer wieder versucht, die überteuerte Batterie zu kaufen, warte aber noch. Um die Wartezeit zu überbrücken, ergänze ich die Zentralheizung um vier Heizstäbe, die bei Stromüberschuss Wärme für die Zentralheizung erzeugen. Die Steuerung dafür liefert der Wechselrichter, die Installation mache ich selbst.

In der gleichen Zeit ergänze ich die Wallbox (es gibt ein Elektroauto) um eine externe Steuerung, die die Netzwerkkommunikation zwischen Wechselrichter und Stromzähler belauscht und bei Stromüberschuss die Wallbox so ansteuert, dass das Auto diesen Ladestrom bekommt. Nach einigen Iterationen bei der Software funktioniert das Ganze gut und ich kann solargesteuert das Auto laden. Wenn das Auto voll ist, wird der Strom in die Zentralheizung verklappt und der Stromzähler zählt nicht mehr rückwärts.

Die Anlage ist immer noch illegal, aber ich werde besser: Ich habe einen Bauantrag beim Energieversorger gestellt, die Anlage „in Zukunft“ bauen zu wollen. Dafür sind Schaltpläne, Grundrisse, Normauszüge, Zertifikate zu den Wechselrichtern, Flurnummer mit eingezeichnetem Standort und noch vieles mehr erforderlich. Es macht genauso wenig Spaß, wie ich das in den Jahren zuvor befürchtet habe. Nach einigen Wochen erhalte ich die lange ersehnte Zusage, mit dem Bau beginnen zu dürfen. Nun benötige ich einen Elektriker mit eingetragenem Fachbetrieb, der die Anlage abnimmt. Na super!

Warum sollte irgendein Elektriker das machen? Es gibt wenig zu verdienen, man muss eine Anlage genehmigen, die man nicht selbst geplant hat. Außerdem ist oft ein besserwisserischer Bastleringenieur beteiligt und man muss in einem wirren Portal eines Energieversorgers irgendwelche kryptischen Dinge tun. Und – was genau „genehmigt“ der Elektriker eigentlich? Die „normgemäße Ausführung“. Wenn man das ernst nimmt, dann dauert das bei einer fremden Anlage einen ganzen Tag und wenn man schlampt, dann ist man vielleicht irgendwie haftbar, wenn etwas nicht passt und das Haus abbrennt. Kein Wunder, dass das niemand machen möchte. Ich darf es aber auch nicht selbst machen, da ich kein eingetragener Handwerksbetrieb bin.

Ich frage also im Kollegenkreis herum, bis ich eine Adresse zugesteckt bekomme. Neben einer angestellten Arbeit betreibt der Elektriker einen eingetragenen Betrieb für kleine Feierabend- und Samstagsprojekte. Ich schiebe das Telefonat mit ihm lange vor mir her, weil es mir sehr unangenehm ist, als Bittsteller in dieser Sache aufzutreten, aber es hilft nichts. Wir telefonieren, planen, aber verschieben dann ein paar Mal den Termin und dann kommt der Ukrainekrieg und die Sache verläuft im Sande.

Ich versuche noch schnell die Solarbatterie zu kaufen (Blackout-Panik, wie alle anderen auch …), aber der Preis ist um 50% gestiegen und sie ist nicht mehr erhältlich. Nach einiger Überlegung beschließe ich, die eingeplanten 5000 EUR lieber in eine Erweiterung der Photovoltaik auf dem Dach zu stecken. Das ist für eine gute Abstimmung von Wechselrichter, Stromverbrauch und Batterie ohnehin sinnvoll und obendrein wirtschaftlich. Apropos Stromverbrauch: Wir verschrotten einen Gefrierschrank und zwei Kühlschränke und ersetzen sie durch zwei Neugeräte. Das reduziert unseren Ruhestromverbrauch von 500W auf 180W. Damit amortisieren sich die Geräte auf lange Sicht selbst.

Nach der Erweiterung der Dachanlage um weitere 20 Module ist nun der neue Wechselrichter auch an der Leistungsgrenze angekommen. Die Solarbatterie ist wieder erhältlich und ich kaufe aufgrund des Preises nur die allerkleinste Version, damit wenigstens ein bisschen Notfallstrom da ist.

Nun ist die Anlage fertig, eigentlich.

Im Sommer 2022 habe ich immer wieder an der Programmierung der Ladesteuerung für das Elektroauto und der Steuerung der Heizstäbe gearbeitet, da die Systeme sich natürlich alle gegenseitig beeinflussen. Es gibt alle möglichen unvorhergesehenen Wechselwirkungen und natürlich ist auch mal das Auto voll, die Solarbatterie voll, das Wasser heiß und es ist immer noch zu viel Strom da, der jetzt wieder runtergeregelt werden müsste. Um das zu realisieren, werde ich mir wohl doch noch eine zentrale Steuerung dafür ausdenken müssen, damit sich das alles besser koordinieren lässt und ich weiterhin sicher die Einspeisung auf Null regeln kann.

Im September 2022 checke ich routinemäßig den Stromzähler und stelle fest, dass wir in diesem Jahr von den üblichen ca. 6000 kWh auf 1000 kWh Jahresverbrauch fallen werden, wenn ich nichts unternehme. Das ist zwar erfreulich, aber auch schlimm, denn die Anlage ist weiterhin nicht angemeldet und so darf die Stromrechnung nicht unerklärlicherweise so stark fallen, sonst wird der Versorger aufmerksam. Offensichtlich habe ich durch Softwarefehler doch mehr eingespeist als geplant. Keine Ahnung, bei welchem Wert dort das rote Licht blinkt. Als ich unsere Elektroheizkörper schrittweise außer Betrieb genommen habe und wir über mehrere Jahre so was wie 10 kWh auf dem Heizungszähler hatten, ist jedenfalls jemand vorbeigekommen und hat höflich gefragt, ob er mal den Zählerraum inspizieren könnte.

Ich muss also im verbleibenden Vierteljahr den Stromverbrauch wieder auf einen realistischen Wert bringen. Um das umweltverträglich zu erreichen, schalte ich die Heizstäbe ab jetzt immer dann an, wenn viel Wind oder Sonne im Stromnetz ist. Ich habe einen Ökostromtarif und gehe davon aus, dass mein zusätzlicher Stromhunger zu diesen Zeiten keinen Schaden anrichtet. Stattdessen die Anmeldung noch schnell anzupacken, geht auch nicht, da die Bundesregierung umfangreiche Erleichterungen ab 2023 plant und ich die Anlage daher sinnvollerweise erst 2023 anmelden sollte. Im November rechne ich nach und stelle fest, dass es so nicht geht und ich 4 kW Leistung 24/7 zusätzlich bis zum Jahreswechsel verbrauchen muss. Ein Teil der Heizstäbe läuft also Tag und Nacht bis 31.12. durch und verbraucht knappen und maximaldreckigen Kohle- und Gasstrom, um meine Stromrechnung zu erhöhen.

Ich bin mit den besten Absichten zu einer egoistischen Umweltsau geworden und weiß nicht mal, wo ich falsch abgebogen bin.

Zum ersten Januar habe ich die Heizstäbe abgestellt, den Genehmigungsantrag aktualisiert, gestellt und zügig genehmigt bekommen. Nun muss ich den hoffentlich freundlichen Elektriker wieder kontaktieren und um Abnahme bitten. Ich hoffe sehr, dass ich diese Anlage so legalisieren kann, sonst muss ich 2023 noch selbst eine Ausbildung zum Elektriker machen und einen Fachbetrieb eröffnen.

For some time now I have been interested in 18th and early 19thcentury medicine. I have obtained a lot of “practical knowledge” from reading contemporary medical books. I complied some of these books into a little list, if there is anybody interested in reading them as well. Not really, sorry bestie! The real Christiane F.'s birthday is May 20th, so maybe this applies for the series Christiane as well. I couldn't find out any birthdays of the other real people the series characters are based on, except for Detlef R., whose birthday seems to be May 18th (not sure if the source website can be trusted with that information). But since he's not actually Benno in the series, this doesn't have to mean much anyways.

Other than that, I remember that user @galacticf once mentioned that they were working on a post about which zodiac signs the characters could be, but I don't think they ever posted that (no pressure, though! I just thought I'd mention this as it fit into the context).

Some parents are withholding their children till they know it's safe. Everyday workers are scared to go. The bright sun may be watching, but a dark shadow has been cast over Silirin. But the worse has yet to come. Meanwhile someone contemplates on how he can deliver the tragic news to a friend.

“Thanks for getting us out Ithiel, Lucius said.”

“Don’t worry about it, you two would have done the same for me, he responded.”

“He might but I wouldn’t,” Ezer blurted out as he waits for the guard to return his items. “I’m still surprised that you came to get us out?” He asked as the guard came back with his items.

“As much as I hate to give him credit for this, but he does have a point,” Lucius stated as he crossed his arms. “But why are you here, I thought my father was coming?”

Their questions caught him off guard. He stood there dumbstruck, and left in thought. Trying to think of the right words to say. After all, how can you tell your closet friends they had a death in the family. You can’t, not yet anyway.

“You’re, ah father um . . . “ he stuttered. He was never much of a liar. “ Your father is um busy at the moment,he implied. And after what happened yesterday in Yaramar I thought I would treat you for the day, since I kinda feel it was my fault for not stopping you two, Ithiel stated.”

There was something off about their friend they thought. Then again being catered by the City Lord’s son. Why not, they thought

“Ok since you refused to come with us you owe us,” Ezer bragged as Lucius nodded his head in agreement with a smile plastered on his face.

The guard finished giving him back all of his items. They began to leave the Tower until one of the Ostirio called out for Ithiel.

“Walk with me for amoment Ithiel, they exclaimed.”

“Steward Uriel,” he answered as the steward approached them. “To what do I owe thee, Ithiel asked?”

“Can I have a word in private,” Uriel asked as he gestured his hand toward the hall.

“As you wish,” he complied. He then told his friends to wait for him. Calming it won’t take too long. He then went to the Steward in the hall then began to ask what this matter was.

“What is it do you wish to speak with me abo-

“I know what you’re trying to do,” Uriel interrupted. “I understand they’re your friends, but I believe that kind of news should be told by either your father, the Arbiter, or one of their kin,” he testified. “I know you mean well, but for now just indulge them till the time is right, he advised as he put a hand on his shoulder. “That's all I ask of you, keep it a secret for now.”

Torn by what had been asked of him, He knew the steward’s words were true. This is something that he feels that he can’t do. As their friend however he owes it to them. But for now he will keep this a secret. Hopefully the backlash won’t be severe, he thought. Then he left.

The river Isil/The Mountains of Isilme/Between Endemar, & Iresta

Linia Podzielona, and her surviving crew resume their course. The fog and Grimm are far behind them now. Though their ship is intact, they now lacks the necessary crew needed to operate it. As well as the needed sails to make the voyage faster. The ride to Silirin will have to be longer than some expected it to be.

“Well there goes my hired escort,” he noted. He then turned to Isa. “Hey you worked under Detlef right?”

“Good your my bodyguard now, Wyn declared.”

“VHAT, vy me, vy not her, aren't vu zwei friends, or zomething,” Isa fretted?

“Fair point,” he agreed. "Frida care to accompany me for the time being,” he asked?

“It's tembting put I Halready haffe vork zat avaits me,” she answered as she tossed Detlef’s hand to the side.

“Well your stuck with me then, um, what was your name again?”

“Isa.

“Well we're almost to the city. From here on out everything should be fine,” he declared as he put an arm and leaned on his shoulder. “I think?”

“Ich werde verdammt noch mal sterben,” Isa exclaimed as he lowered his head.

Soon after a loud horn was heard in the distance.

The Sinda Castle/Silirin/Endemar

Home to the Arasule Order, Sinda has had a long history of honorable service to Silirin. The first of four castles that would later help expand the city. Now it serves as the first line of defence, and trains the forces needed to ensure Silirins’ safety. Especially In times like these. For now a pair of Edenyar converse as they finish their assigned task.

“Remind me again, why are we the ones on Armour polish again? It feels like it’s the fifth day in a row, and this is all we do.”

“Well we could’ve done something else, but someone angered the Confanonier,” the other proclaimed.

“Thanks Zim, I can always count on you can I,” bellowed Eran.

“How many times have I told you to stop calling me that,” she contended!

“Well it’s easier to say than Zimra.”

As they continued their friendly banter, a loud horn was heard. They wonder what it could be. Then a loud commotion was heard outside room. They drop their respective work and exit out the armory door. The halls are filled. Everyone is rushing out of the castle.

“Hey hey, Or, what's going on,” Zimra called out to her friend?

“Every one’s either going to the towers or the curtain wall,” she responded. “I’m going to the keeps’ pinnacle, care to join me,” Or asked?

“Sure,” they said in delighted unison! Any excuse to get out of armor maintenance they thought.

They’re on the move now. Hurrying to Sinda’s highest point. As they reach their goal, others were there. More specifically the Grand Marshall, Seneschal, and the Confanonier. One of them will not be happy to see our mischievous pair.

“Can you make out their banners?”

“Not yet, they need to get closer.”

“Should I light the beacon Marshal?”

“Not yet, but be at the ready.”

“Isn’t that for an emergencies,” Eran asked Or?

“It is, but it depends on what kind of emergency.”

“WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOING HERE,” the Confanonier barked, as he notice that both Zimra, and Eran where there! Mostly at Eran.

“You can deal with them later Quirinus,” the Marshall intervened. He felt that he was going to need every able body that he can get his hands on. Even if their new bloods, that have yet to see combat. He prayed to Ilaini that he was wrong and it was something else. “Seneschal can you make out their banners now?”

“I can vaguely make out the largest one, but it appears to be The Silote Legion.”

As soon as he said it a large commotion began to stir up. Everyone in the pinnacle, from the edenyar to the staff, and to the guard pondered why. Why was one of their legions here.

“The Silote?”

“Why are they here?”

“I thought they were in the north.”

“Hey Zim don’t have like three older siblings that were assigned to The Silote Legion, Eran asked.”

The thought of seeing her siblings again brought joy to her mind. But it came to conflict with thoughts of worry. She herself wasn’t sure how she would respond to the outcome.

“Can you see who is leading them?”

“Judging by the white flag with the four curved lines, Marshal Laban seems to be in command,” he answered.

“Well it’s good to that still alive,” the Marshal declared.

“Yeah,” everyone else said disappointed.

“I take it he’s not really well liked,” Eran said.

“No he’s not,” Or answered.

As they got closer the Marshal noticed something was off with their numbers.

“How many members are they supposed to have,” he asked.

“At least five thousand Sir. Why?”

“That doesn't look like a legion of five thousand, he argued. And far too many to be a regiment.”

“Their raising more banners sir.”

“What kind of banners did they raise?”

The Seneschal focused his sights to see. He waited for them to get closer to see them clearly. Upon first glance he thought he was mistaken. At least he hoped he was. But as they got closer the clearer it was that he was not mistaken. Dread was the only thing left on his face.

“Seneschal what banners did they raise?”

“Grand Marshal . . . they fly colours of Black marked by a red X,” he said solemnly.

Operators Da/YO3GA, Mircea/YO4GKP, Alina/YO9RYJ, Petrica/YO9RIJ and possibly others will be active as YP0F from Fericirii Island between August 27th-September 1st. (Zone 2) VY0ERC is once again active from the Eureka Weather station and the Eureka Amateur Radio Club [probably the most northerly located amateur radio club in the world] from Eureka, Nunavut, on the air until August 20th. A list of the operating team was not provided. The suggested bands are 40 and 20 meters (possibly 80m), as well as FM satellites (from ER60, EQ79) using SSB, the Digital modes and very slow CW. Pierre, VE2GT, is planning a one day operation from Île du Havre, and will be active as VE2GT/150 between 1330-1530z on September 1st. This is a very expensive and challenging project, and they are actively looking for possible support from IOTA chasers and DXers at large. This will depend on the swells around the island. They plan to work hard during the day hours, but they are not sure during the evening hours due to the high tides. Restructuring of AS-117/AS-206. On the IOTA Web page (iota-world.org), Roger, G3KMA, on July 30th, posted the following: Islands previously listed as qualifying for AS-117 that now fall within the co-ordinates box of the new group AS-206, Honshu’s Coastal Islands East, have now been transferred and are listed appropriately both in the application database scroll-down list and in the IOTA Directory online. Following several activations from AS-206 in the last few weeks with most already accepted for credit, the group number is now confirmed. Record-holders with credits for AS-117 that commence with prefixes JA0, 1, 2 and 7, will have their credits reviewed for transfer to AS-206. All chasers who logged into the IOTA system at least once during the last two years will be automatically informed by a credit re-allocation. This will alert them to the need to find a replacement card or QSO match for AS-117 with a prefix JA3, 4 or 9 to regain credit. Other record-holders for whom Management no longer retains an email address will have any necessary transfer made automatically. The intention is to transfer all credits to the correct IOTA group within a few weeks. As this is quite a big job, patience is requested. KH4, MIDWAY ISLAND. Ron, KH6DV, from Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, announced on July 31st, that a KH6VV/KH4 DXpedition will take place during the second half of February 2020. He states on QRZ.com, "Midway Atoll is #14 on the ClubLog most wanted list and has not been active for some time. The air- craft used for the logistics flights has been downsized and visitors are no longer allowed to fly to the island. The following is a letter written by Monk Iakovos, SV2RSG, and was provided by Theodore Giamtsidis, SV1GRM: Dear Radio Amateur friends, I am Monk Iakovos from the Holy Monastery of Koutloumousiou of Mount Athos, bearing the distinct amateur radio call sign SV2RSG. I hereby take the liberty to contact you and write in the circumstances of what has been circulated as sporadic rumors regarding Mount Athos, Monk Apollo and me in conjunction to the issue of ham radio activities (radio amateur). My sole purpose and intention is to provide clarification, based on actual facts and figures, in restoration of the truth. Regarding my eligi- bility as a radio amateur and solid proof of it, there are the relevant official records in the competent state service offices in Thessaloniki but also in the pertinent Ministry in Athens, for anyone interested in accessing, verifying, learning more, as well as relevant accompanying photographic material that has come under exposure to public eye at various given time periods. Concerning the subject of a radio amateur license held by the passed Monk Apollo (SV2ASP), whether licensed by the Holy Community (Greek Hiera Koenotes) of Mount Athos for Amateur Radio Broadcasting, I would like to clarify the following: The Holy Community has never shown any sign of interest in this issue, until as recently as only 4 years ago. The only permission granted to the late blessed Monk Apollo was for radio warning communications (regarding natural as well as other serious environmental hazards and disasters), in order to provide wider relative information on local and near periphery level and thus triggering response and support on combating, restricting and mitigating these disasters. On the other hand, it was exactly the outbreak of a ravaging wildfire on Mount Athos with terrible catastrophic effects that provided the motive for a more positive disposition towards mentioned ham radio activity. However, there has never actually been a permit for ham radio amateur contests or daily ham radio activities, nor has it been any concern in the interests of the Holy Community to deal with this issue, since the Holy Community had at the time and still has much more serious and important issues of actual substance to resolve and deal with than those pertinent to a solitary Monk in his individual activity. I say “individual activity” because the Monastery to which Monk Apollo belonged had not requested for such actions, and had not put forth an official Monastic request as such. This was also further demonstrated by the total ignorance of the Holy Community about the actions of Monk Apollo but also with their absence of knowledge regarding the definition, prin- ciples, purpose, and key-functions of Amateur Radio. This fact alone is a response to those who invoke issues of licenses and concessions. This is also the reason why Monk Apollo did broadcast with Thessaloniki as signal mark location and “/A” mark location on Mount Athos, precisely because the base and station of transmission had to be lawfully seated in Thessaloniki and not on Mount Athos. Having thus no serious and formal information provided on the subject from those who were directly involved and concerned, the Holy Community considered the use and action of Ham Radio as a notion opposing tradition and unrelated to Monasticism and its own tradition. This at the exact very same time when Mount Athos is overwhelmed and flooded with constant use of Internet, YouTube, email, social media, mobile phone applications and every other wireless and recent technological invention services. Although people nowadays do say “mobile” and they mean “cellular phone” the intended proper term to actually use is “radio” (frequency telecommuni- cations). I tried with all my kind disposition and due respect to explain, clarify and inform the Holy Epistasia – the Holy Supervisory Committee of the Community (Greek Hiera Epistasia) – on the issue of “Ham/Amateur Radio”, at the time when the Holy Monastery of Koutloumousiou sent me as a member of their delegation regarding the Monastic request of a ham radio station installation. The Koutloumousiou delegation consisted of Monk Iakovos (SV2RSG), as the representative of the Holy Monastery, the Monk driver and one more Monk, all present during our presentation and attending the whole hearing process of the Monastic request. Representatives of the Holy Epistasia of the Holy Community of Mount Athos were the Holy Protepistate and other two Monastery Epistates (Supervisors). Immediately, it became obviously clear that the Holy Protepistate and the Monastery Epistates had, plausibly, no previous or current knowledge of what Ham Radio is in general, its advantages and how it works. In spite of my personal attempt to explain in detail, fill in any gaps or answer eventual queries, unfortunately no one was finally convinced of the use and usefulness of traditional amateur radio, not because they were not convinced based on reasoning and argumentation, but because there was lack of disposition towards dealing with the subject. On the contrary, in reply to our presentation, I was met with many negative comments and criticism about Monk Apollo and his ham radio activities that I would not ever disclose for the sake of respect and esteem for the late brother Monk Apollo. On many occasions I have even received rebukes, insults and slander from friends of Monk Apollo and other Ham Radio amateurs, mostly anonymous.. Mentioned above was certainly not with any intention to put blame or accusation on anyone at all, I just need to attribute the truth to the events and actual facts that happened between people we are struggling together with in our weaknesses, passions and selfishness, during our common spiritual struggle and objectives. However, nowadays that we are going through a time period of total radio silence and relevant activity in Mount Athos, this due to plausible ignorance and partial lack of interest in such ham radio activities on the part of the Holy Community (because of so many other more important and pressing issues demanding our attention) we do have the opportunity to make an appeal. With the status of a Holy Mount Athos Monk and as a Radio Amateur at the same time, I invite and urge you and all those who love Mount Athos and the tradition of Amateur Radio to join our hearts and voices in sending letters or emails of support in spirit of respect to the Holy Community, and pray and request for: Its reconsideration on the issue and – granting their kind permission to install radio communications station(s), not to any individual Monks, but to any of the Holy Monasteries that do wish to install and operate such an installation (after decision of the Monasteries’ ‘Committee’ and the ‘Council of Elders’) by designating / appointing a Monk Radio Operator responsible for its proper function, under the stand- ards and guidelines of well-established international and domestic tele- communication rules and regulations. Mamma Mia, Deutsches Theater, Munich, 25.08.2018, 19:30

This is going to be a long review of a fantastic evening with a very energetic audience and wonderful cast. Feel free to scroll past!

Donna: Rosalie de Jong (alt) - incredible performance! I'm glad she gets to play Donna more often now that Sabine Mayer is on holiday, because she's simply amazing. There's a bit of room here and there - she seemed a little reserved in acting scenes at the beginning of the first act, but got better very quickly. She was quiet at times, but that may be due to her mic or the audience clapping along. Sometimes the music drowned out her voice. BUT: "Money, Money, Money", "Durch meine Finger rinnt die Zeit" ("Slipping Through My Fingers") and "Der Sieger hat die Wahl" ("The Winner Takes It All", especially that last note) were STANDOUTS. She was the calmest of the three adult friends and seemed most reasonable. Those interactions during "Chiquitita" and "Dancing Queen" were priceless. Her dancing at the end was A+ as well, and she was obviously VERY into it during "Waterloo" at the very end XD

Sophie: Katharina Gorgi - what a gorgeous voice! You really need a pretty voice to sing "Mich trägt mein Traum" ("I Have a Dream") like THAT. A very confident Sophie, and everything she did seemed absolutely natural. Effortless acting on her part. And honestly, the ending of Act One is underappreciated. People tend to prefer powerful endings a la "Defying Gravity" or "One Day More", but first, all the confusion and muddle of "Voulez-Vous" when all three possible fathers announce their plan to give her away, and then Sophie realising the trouble she has caused by inviting them - utter despair, happiness and exhaustion all mixed on her face - the theatre going dark while the only beam of light is fixed on her and her outstretched hands - stunning.

Tanja: Betty Vermeulen - my expectations were really high after reading a five-star-review for her, and I was not disappointed. She's played the character countless times, and plays her to perfection (better than Christine Baranski in the movie imo). You GET why three rich men have fallen for her, and why they didn't get along at the end. "Wenn das Mami wüsst" ("Does Your Mother Know") and her hat the the beginning of that scene - yesss.

Rosie: Barbara Raunegger - r e l a t a b l e. Rosie is the most like me character-wise lol XD she wasn't didn't give a stand-out performance, but she wasn't drowned out by the others either. Very very good acting and comedic timing.

Sam: Gerd Achilles (us) - great acting, but he simply seemed too young to have been on that Greek island 21 years ago. So much younger than Bill and Harry. It's a good thing that Rosalie is a lot younger than Sabine, so at least the scenes between Sam and Donna were credible. His singing sounded forced at times, and he didn't pull of the wedding scene too well, sadly. He ROCKED that outfit at the end though :D kudos for his interactions with Sky.

Bill: Jörg Zuch - he looked like an older Josh Dylan. His interactions with Rosie were hilarious (esp in "Komm und wag's mit mir"/"Take A Chance On Me"), and I've got positive things to say about him through and through.

Harry: Detlef Leistenschneider - yes. Kind, awkward Harry on point. "Unser Sommer" ("Our Last Summer") was one of the (many) highlights of the evening. A perfect older version of Hugh Skinner's Harry tbh. Great voice as well, and stage presence! (He looked like somebody we know so we joked around during intermission that we had to ask Udo whether he had a brother haha)

Ali: Marije van Sonsbeck (us) - if her Ali isn't a lesbian, I don't know anymore. Can you be any more obvious? Her accent was audible, but I'm convinced I'll get better when she gets to go on more often. Nice portrayal overall, but it's a very small role, sadly :/

Lisa: Abla Alaoui - ah I love her. Her Lisa is just the cutest, so adorable and bubbly with Sophie and Ali and during the many dancing scenes. My parents and I nearly died of laughter when she didn't understand what "dot, dot, dot" meant and Ali had to show her :') I had hoped to maybe see her as Sophie since she's the alternate, but a Saturday evening maybe isn't the best choice for that.

Sky: Marvin Kobus Schütt - his Sky is very much in love with Sophie and good friends with the other guys from the island. He has A LOT of respect for Donna. But. His hair. Why did he dye it??? It's too blonde. It looks really artificial. I mean it was his choice, probably - but ugh I'm sorry no. "Leg Dein Herz an eine Leine" ("Lay All Your Love On Me") was great though. His fight with Sophie after she tells him that she had "ruined" the wedding came off as very natural as well. So much harm could have been done here.

Sorry Pepper - no review for you :| he was played by Brad Corben, while Eddie was played by Timo Müller.

All in all, a perfect evening. My parents enjoyed it as well, they even wanted to listen to the 2008 movie soundtrack on the drive back home. Wow. They were sceptical when they heard about the Abba songs being in German, but that didn't matter in the end. My mom is talking to my grandma on the phone as I'm writing this, and she just said she LOVED it :))))

It was raining and pretty cold when the performance had finished and I hadn't brought a pen with me, so I didn't go to the stagedoor. I'm too dumb to recognise people anyway (like at Les Mis - so awkward argh we stood there and the actors went by and I only realised who they were when they were gone).

I wish I could see it again! Maybe when it comes to Munich again next year?

The first dose of COVID-19 vaccine may trigger pemphigus and bullous pemphigoid flares: is the second dose therefore contraindicated?

During the COVID-19 pandemics, the management of immunosuppressed patients, those affected by autoimmune bullous diseases (AIBDs), became a matter of particular concern for healthcare systems; dissemination of sound and updated information became mandatory to orient physicians and more generally healthcare policy.1, 2 Furthermore, AIBDs patients were encouraged to take advantage from teledermatological rather than in-person consultations; also, they were encouraged to undergo COVID-19 vaccination, preferably during remission periods or at least while under low immunosuppression.3, 4 To date, data regarding the effect of COVID vaccines on AIBDs are scanty. We present 5 cases (from 4 different centres) of bullous pemphigoid (BP) – respectively of pemphigus vulgaris (PV) – all confirmed by clinical, immunopathologic/serological findings, where the patients had undergone COVID vaccination during a period of remission of their bullous disease and have subsequently experienced a disease flare (Table 1).

Case 1. A 63-year-old female with bullous pemphigoid (BP) in clinical remission since 6 months after oral prednisone treatment was administered the first dose of Moderna mRNA-1273 vaccine, and 3 days later, she experienced a flare of her disease: the latter started with a generalized erythema 1 day after the vaccination, and on the third day, several blisters appeared on the trunk. The diagnosis was made in a telemedical consultation and oral prednisone was prescribed. 28 days later, the patient was given the second dose of the vaccine, and no disease flares and no injection site reactions took place.

Case 2. A 40-year-old male, with pemphigus vulgaris (PV) in remission since one year after rituximab therapy, came to our attention 3 days after the first dose of the Moderna mRNA-1273 vaccine because of a PV flare. He presented with several blisters on the back and on the upper limbs (Fig. 1) and started a therapy with mycophenolate mofetil and oral prednisone. After 28 days, he was given the second dose of the vaccine: he experienced only pain on the injection site for 2 days.

Case 3. A 84-year-old male with BP in remission since 4 years after oral prednisone and azathioprine treatment was administered the first dose of the Moderna mRNA-1273 vaccine. After 2 weeks, he started showing mild blistering lesions on the trunk, which were deemed not to require systemic immunosuppressive treatment. 28 days later, the patient was given the second dose; a worsening of the lesions which became more widespread, involving also the oral cavity, took place. A treatment with oral prednisone was started.

Case 4. A 82-year-old female with BP in remission since 3 years after oral prednisone and mycophenolate mofetil treatment was given the first dose of the Pfizer mRNABNT162b2 vaccine. 3 days later, the patient experienced a moderate BP flare in the form of small blisters on the arms and legs. The patient lived in a nursing home where only teledermatological consultations were possible. Oral prednisone was prescribed, and the second dose was administered 21 days later. No further BP flares and no injection site reactions occurred.

Case 5. A 80-year-old male with a history of PV remitted before 1 year after oral prednisone and mycophenolate mofetil treatment experienced a flare 3 days after the first dose of the mRNABNT162b2 vaccine. He was seen in a teledermatological consultation because of severe blisters on the back, and he was treated with oral prednisone. After 21 days, the patient was able to complete the second dose of Pfizer mRNABNT162b2 vaccination. No further BP flares and no injection site reactions occurred.

Despite the ongoing treatment with immunosuppressants, all patients developed IgG antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 S1-receptor binding domain (RBD) (>150 UI) 1 month after the second dose, which supports the assumption that the vaccination was effective in all cases presented.

These anecdotal data suggest that both mRNA vaccines may trigger relapses in AIBD patients. Vaccines are important in AIBDs patients, since the latter are characterized by a vulnerability against infections in the mucocutaneous barrier5: completion of vaccination is advisable, and patients should be treated for flares when needed. However, data on the effect on immunosuppressants on IgG antibodies titres in short and long term are needed. IgG S1-RBD persistence in AIBD patients is also a matter of concern; this should encourage dermatologists to monitor anti-COVID-19 immunity.
