松田&萩原のパチパチ爆弾ケーキ/Matsuda &Hagiwara’s Crackling Bomb Cake (translation unofficial)
was a dessert available at Detective Conan Cafe from April 1st to June 26th 2022, depending on the location, for 1760 yen including tax. Themed after the deaths of the characters, the bomb shaped cake capitalized on the popularity of the (particularly) cop-centric spin off and also promoted the franchise’s 25th mainline movie.
The chocolate cake—served on a slab—included icing “wires” and a variety of textures, with what seems to have been popping candy and blood-red dried raspberries. It also included faux-sakura representing the transience of the characters' lives, if not Hagiwara’s nationalism.
While Matsuda & Hagiwara’s Crackling Bomb Cake was the only dish of its kind on the BLOOM OF POLICE menu, the POLICE’S CAFETERIA menu represented the pair with a conceptually similar entrée, a bakudandon (literally “bomb-bowl”). As both menus ran concurrently, a dedicated customer could have a morbidly explosive two course meal.

BIG THIRST ALERT!! I recently just watched the 25th detective conan movie and the scene where Furuya slammed the telephone against the glass wall 😳😳😳 Oh my lord was that HOT! Because of this I imagined something 🤭🤭 Like *somehow* getting into that glass room (we’re smart and sneaky) because we don’t care if he has a bomb around his neck, we still want to support him. He gets a little mad and pushes you up against the glass wall and fucks you against it and if someone comes in they could see.. 👀
Could you dm me your age please so I can verify that you're not a minor?

The infamous detective returns! ‘Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine’ to arrive in cinemas on 25th August 2023
Ever since Indian anime fans thronged cinemas to catch ‘Detective Conan: The Story of Ai Haibara’, the next chapter of Detective Conan’s story has been generating a lot of buzz. And now...the wait is finally over! PVR INOX Pictures is all set to release ‘Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine’, the 26th movie in the Detective Conan franchise, on 25th August 2023. The film opened in Japan on April 14. It became the first film in the entire franchise to pass 10 billion yen.
In 1994, Detective Conan was serialized in the manga magazine, Weekly Shonen Sunday. It became hugely popular and went on to become the magazine’s longest-running series. In 1996, it began to be broadcast as a TV animation. And following that, in 1997, the film releases began in theaters.
‘Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine’ follows the thrilling escapades of Conan, a student cum detective who ingeniously solves crimes at the tip of his fingers. The action takes place at Hachijo-jima Island where ‘secret tech’ that can change the fate of the world is being invented. When a female engineer pivotal to the project is kidnapped by the sinister Black Organization, it is up to Conan and his Detective Boys to save the day.
Will Conan and team be able to save the day? Will he vanquish the Black Organization? Will the ‘secret technology’ reach the wrong hands? Gear up Indian Otakus as all these questions will be answered in the upcoming ‘Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine’.
‘Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine’, a PVR INOX Pictures release, arrives in cinemas on 25th August 2023.

Detective Conan : The Bride of Halloween (can’t wait to watch!!!)
I’m a hardcore fan of Detective Conan since I was 13 years old. Detective Conan is the first comic that I read and I’m falling in love ever since. I remember bought it for Rp 6,500 , then Rp 8,500 then Rp 9,500, then Rp 13,000 . and now the price is Rp 30,000 . (That’s how inflation works bestie!)
I love everything about Detective Conan. The story, character, relationship between character, drawing/animation, case and deduction, cult (black organization), culture, common knowledge, murder knowledge, and everything that i forgot to mention in this paragraph. Everything is lovely and so good. no wonder the fandom still going strong since 1994 Anyway, this year Detective Conan release its 25th movie : The Bride of Halloween already release in Japan on April 2022, and the good news is ... it will release in Indonesia on July 2022 !!! super cant wait !!! Super excited !!! (literally give me a reason to live until July 2022)
Detective Conan 25th Movie : The Bride of Halloween
Synopsis : Takagi and Sato are getting married, but the villain from the past is crawling to surface like a devil. The villain that killed Matsuda (Sato’s ex-partner/lover and also Amuro’s Bestie) I believe that the movie will be more complicated than the synopsis (I watched every movie from the 1st one released in 1996) Anyway, from the trailer I think it will be more focus on Amuro-san. And I’m really happy because he is so hot and misunderstood character. He is so loyal to his country, he has 3 different personalities, he has priorities, he will get what he wants with his 50 shades of gray morality , he is calm and friendly but do not ever cross the line and being on his bad side. Is he Taurus? is he INFJ? because I can relate to him on so many level ... Amuro-san is my fav crush ❤️ perhaps i write the detail on my next post
I promise to myself that I will watch this movie on July 2022. Thank you CGV for bring this movie to Indonesia. Can’t wait to watch it !!! Sayonara

man i'm kinda late huh. Anyways thanks for the tag!
Last song: Nebula by double face. I am 100% convinced df had to disband because happyele wasn't able to keep up with the perfection that is df's discography.
Favorite color: this ones gonna be oddly specific but periwinkle blue. Look. Just look at it.
It reminds me of forget-me-not flowers and i used to pick these flowers from our garden and dry them. And from all the different types of local flowers i have dried before, these NEVER fade in color. Most flowers look entirely different once dried but forget-me-nots stay vibrant as hell.
But in general i just like all colors. This one's just on my mind more often because of how many dried flowers i have of this color lol
Last movie/tv show: the 25th conan detective movie. I know nothing of the conan series and i was forced to watch this out of nowhere. It's great you should watch it. Also it gave me a new favorite word and it's "Buoy". They say "Pacific buoy" so often in this movie, it just ingrained itself in my mind now.
sweet/savory/spicy: uuuhh no preference
relationship status: single
last thing i googled: i don't...use google? I have another browser and it automatically deletes what i search so i have no idea what the last thing i searched for was
current obsession: i'm hesitant to say enstars because well...that's more of a fandom thing than like, a random thing that i obsess over out of nowhere for no good reason. A random thing i'm obsessing over lately are tori. No not the enstars character. Tori as in plural of torus. A mathematcial donut if you will:
Originally i searched for this thing on the web because its mathematical description in 3D looked kinda weird and ho boy. I did NOT expect how many other things this shape is involved in. Anyways i'm kinda sad we don't have topology in our math class because this thing looks HELLA INTERESTING.
I don't know who to tag soooo all of you are welcome <3

Last song: Down by the River by Borislav Slavov from the Baldur’s Gate 3 Soundtrack (or more specifically the cover of Down by the River by Nerissa Ravencroft)
Favorite color: Blue and purple!
Last movie/TV show: Seinfeld, I’m currently on season four!
Sweet/spicy/savory?: I have a huge sweet tooth, so sweet things
Relationship status: Single
Last thing I googled: I searched up the show “Arthur” because I was trying to find that one meme where Buster was like “You really think someone would do that, just go on the internet and spread lies?”
Current obsession: Fragaria memories and tears of themis mostly^^

The 25th Detective Conan Film Releases Full Trailer Featuring Newly-arranged Main Theme
Following the teaser posted early this month, the official website for the Detective Conan anime film series has posted a 60-second new trailer for its 25th feature film Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween to be released in Japan on April 15, 2022.
The clip features the Conan anime franchise's iconic theme newly arranged by Yugo Kanno (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, PSYCHO-PASS), who is in charge of the film's soundtrack music.
"The pressure of being in charge of a nationally popular series that is loved by so many people kept me up at night, but I was able to complete the soundtrack with a lot of advice from the staff who have worked on the Detective Conan series many times," said Kanno.
"The tune that was particularly difficult to arrange was the main theme. In order not to disappoint everyone's expectations, I arranged it with the utmost respect for the original. After receiving advice from Katsuo Ohno-sensei (the theme's original composer), I made revisions and received the OK, which made me feel happy, as if I had received the official endorsement. I learned once again the power of the main theme composed by Ohno-sensei, which instantly brings you into the world of Conan the moment the tune is played in the movie. Please look forward to the movie version of 'Detective Conan: Bride of Halloween,' including its music!"

Teaser visual:
Story introduction:
Shibuya, Tokyo, is bustling with the Halloween season. A wedding is being held at Shibuya Hikarie, where Detective Miwako Sato of the Metropolitan Police Department is dressed in a wedding dress. While Conan and the other invited guests are watching, an assailant suddenly bursts in, and Detective Wataru Takagi, who was trying to protect Sato, is injured. Takagi survived and the situation was settled, but in Sato's eyes, the image of the grim reaper that she had seen when Detective Matsuda, the man she had been in love with, had been killed in a series of bombings three years ago, overlapped with Takagi's.
At the same time, the perpetrator of the bombings escapes from prison. Is this really a coincidence? Rei Furuya (Toru Amuro), a member of the public safety police, is hunting down the man who killed his classmate, Detective Matsuda, but a mysterious person in disguise suddenly appears and puts a collar bomb on him.
Conan visits the underground shelter where Amuro is hiding out to disarm the collar bomb, and hears about an incident three years ago when he and his now deceased classmates from the police academy encountered an unidentified virtual bomber named "Plamya" in Shibuya. As Conan and his team investigate, a disturbing shadow begins to loom over them.

sorry i noticed so late! (if you want you’re free to write me in vk, haha, but im not really interesting to talk at all :^) but i am always open to scream about ToW. its my best character trait)
Rules: Tag some people you would like to get to know better
Top 3 ships:
- The 25th Baam and Aguero Agnis Khun as well ! (I’m calling them 25AA,,) IM JUST !! Them. the person who tells Baam he is not a God, but a human? Recognises his needs? They just simply complement each other? Their powers match? They support each other? I started reading ToW not expecting how hard would i scream at their hand touch.
- Shinichi Kudo and Kid 1412 ! Yooo, detective and a jewel thief, that’s a match made in heaven. Both are super intelligent, goofy and creative. Watching their mind games is such a pleasure (76 ep. of detective Conan is a MUST watch, really, it’s so good)
- Hmmm, I can’t really remember shipping someone as hard to put on 3rd place, it’s always occasional.. davekat from homestuck?? this fandom still haunts me after all these years, because i love classpecting everything and everyone (Khun is probs a Witch of Light and Baam is a Knight of Hope/Blood, im trying, don’t be hard on me) But two knights w/emotional problems, who are good pals and calm together? simple problems and minds, aesthetic of cosmos, aliens and teenagers; im also shipping a lot of my own characters as well, pfffft
- or wait ! maybe p5 protagonist and pancake-kun, because AGAIN the thief-detective, complementing minds, brightness and intelligence (the way raw power of akira compliments the sharp mind of akechi? wow i need to breathe) I CANT DECIDE! I LOVE THE ALL THE OTP i have and once had. you just need to poke me about something and i would explode with love
Last movie you watched: korean movie called Maggie (2019) but i haven’t really finished it (i got upset) aaand Promare as well! I watched it 4-5 times while working on some uni projects and cried at how well OST and colors go together. I consider watching it a few times more but now I have no time, haha, finals are killing me..
Reading: I’m reading a ton of works about history of art now (my studies), but i would like to re-read No Longer Human (7th time...?) and i want to start The Red Night trilogy by William S. Burroughs (everything I like is somehow about death)
What food are you craving right now: ice-cream! strawberries! something sweet! cocktails! soft buns! my latin professors throat-
Tagging: no one! but if you see this feel free to re-create the template (and tag me as the one who tagged you, hehe)

Detective Conan Rewatch: Episode 946
Episode 946: “The Cursed Tears of Borgia (Part 1)”
Before watching this episode, on a scale of 1-10, how much are you looking forward to seeing it again?
5.
Favorite screencap:
Conan: *-thinking-* ‘Ran, hurry up...this is the 25th piece she’s fed me...’
Favorite moment:
Conan interacting with Asahina.
Least favorite moment:
Cliffhanger! Granted, we know Kogoro is gonna be fine.
What's one thing you noticed/realized about this episode that you hadn't before?
Nothing new but...
*-Skye has sudden war flashbacks to Movie 15-*
On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate this episode?
Call me curious!
Celebrate it!
Since I don't have access to a tablet and am too lazy to scan a drawing, have a (not exactly) summary haiku.
40 year old case
Grandmother accused of theft
Body found in car
Next Episode: Episode 947
Previous Episode: Openings 46-50

13, for some ran and kazuha, if you want would be lovely!
(fluff trope prompts!)
I most certainly do want, anon, so here you go.
.
13. watching fireworks
Ran startles when her handphone rings late one summer evening, just as dusk is setting in.
She’s even more surprised to realise that it’s a video call, though she picks up anyway when she sees the contact name. “Moshi moshi, Kazuha-chan?”
“Ah, Ran-chan!” The camera image blurs in and out before focusing properly on her friend. “Can you see me?”
Ran can’t help her smile – Kazuha’s wearing a yukata in a bright shade of forest green that would’ve looked terrible on anyone else, and Ran can’t see very clearly on the video feed but she’s fairly certain that Kazuha has changed her hair ribbon to match. “You look wonderful, Kazuha-chan. What’s the occasion?”
“It’s July 25th, July 25th!” Kazuha’s excitement is clearly audible even over the phone. “Don’t ya know about the Tenjin Matsuri, Ran-chan?”
Ran frowns, thinking. “I’ve heard of the festival, but I don’t really know much about it. You’re there with Hattori-kun?”
Kazuha rolls her eyes. “I’m supposed ta be – we came here together, but that ahou got lost somewhere and I’m not even gonna try finding him in this mess.”
Now that Kazuha mentions it, Ran does indeed notice quite the crowd in the background of the camera. It’s getting dark enough that she can only make out the vague outlines of people, but there’s almost an air of anticipation, instead of the usual bustling motion of festival-goers. “Are you waiting for something?”
“You’re quite the detective, Ran-chan!” Kazuha says cheerfully, and the camera pans around wildly for a moment before it refocuses to show…
…the dark surface of a river, dully reflecting the buildings on either side.
Ran blinks in confusion. “Ano, Kazuha-chan? What am I supposed to be looking at?”
“Sorry? Hang on, lemme get my earphones so I can hear you better.” There’s a brief crackle of static before Kazuha’s voice comes back on, much clearer this time – her earphones must also have a microphone built into them, Ran thinks. “What were ya sayin’, Ran-chan?”
Ran squints slightly at her phone, trying to figure out if she’s imagining the vague shapes amidst the darkness. “Are those boats on the river?”
“Just ya wait, any minute now,” Kazuha says almost conspiratorially instead, and Ran’s just about to ask what she’s talking about when –
– every single boat flares quite literally to life, fire and light caught in dazzling glimmers on the river surface as far as the eye can see.
The view shifts slowly but steadily as Kazuha turns the phone, and with the flickering light of the boats Ran can now see the throngs of people lined up along both banks of the river. She can’t help wondering how early Kazuha arrived to secure such a good spot, but the view is definitely worth it.
Even from her small screen, Ran can make out boats holding everything from giant lanterns to Noh performers to oil fires, all reflected equally in the water beneath them. It’s almost like something out of a movie. “That’s stunning, Kazuha-chan.”
Kazuha’s grin is obvious in her voice. “Isn’t it? We should really come together next year, Ran-chan, ya can ditch Conan-kun with Heiji so we don’t have ta worry about them.”
Then she adds, “Oh, but ya haven’t seen all of it yet!”
This time, Ran doesn’t even try to ask as Kazuha rotates the camera abruptly, so that it’s pointed up at the pitch black sky.
And, with crackling bangs that are no less deafening through her phone speakers, a seemingly unending chain of fireworks light up the night sky in brilliant hues of red and orange and white.
“It’s amazing, ain’t it?” Kazuha still sounds a little awed, even though this can’t be her first time at the festival.
“Yeah, it is.” Ran props her handphone up against one of her textbooks, and settles in to watch the show. “Thanks for showing me this, Kazuha-chan.”
“Anytime, Ran-chan,” Kazuha answers, as the next set of fireworks fill the air.
.

disclaimer: have never attended a matsuri in my life so apologies for any inaccuracies, but afaik the Tenjin Matsuri is indeed a thing as described above, and it looks like a blast tbh, 10/10 would attend

The head of Otakon 2019 Guest Relations, Ethan Kick, has taken the time out of his busy schedule to provide us a list with some highlights ahead of this year's event, which also marks the 25th anniversary of Otakon. Otakon List of Awesome! by Otakon Guest Relations Head Ethan Kick 1) We have so much music this year, everyone! Come check out the amazing funk rock band Bradio, followed by the Tribute to Nujabes Concert later that evening in our Main Events room. That’s not all, though. We also have an exciting and new project, “RPG National Anthem Variations” Guitar Concert with Sam Griffin and Eric Roth. But that’s not even our final form. Make sure to check out TAKU from M-Flo, who will be performing Saturday night at the Otakon Dance. Then to round it out, check out both Diana Garnet and nano perform on Sunday. 2) That’s not all for music, though. We have incredible composer Kaoru Wada joining us to talk about his works over the years. You may know him best for composing music in "Inuyasha," "Ace Attorney," "Princess Tutu," "D. Gray-man," and "Ninja Scroll." 3) With a Tribute to Nujabes, you can’t ignore his contribution to "Samurai Champloo." Make sure to check out our panel with Kirk Thorton and Kari Wahlgren, the voices of Jin and Fuu, respectively. We also have a panel dedicated to the music of Nujabes, with a few artists that worked on the music for "Samurai Champloo" or with Nujabes. This includes Marcus D, Substantial, EyeQ, MINMI, and Shing02. 4) Switching gears from music for a minute, we obviously have a ton of amazing animation guests and events for you, as well. Check out designer Shigeto Koyama, director Hiromi Wakabayashi, and director Hiroyuki Imaishi from Studio Trigger as they premiere "PROMARE," their new animated movie. Also, join their panel during the weekend, where they will be doing Q&A and doing live drawings. 5) Fire fighters from "PROMARE" are cool, but sometimes you want a bit of fantasy and goofy antics. Well, lucky for you, Bandai Namco Arts is bringing us some of the amazing team behind “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime,” with character designer Ryoma Ebata, director Atsushi Nakayama, and voice actor Chikahiro Kobayashi, whom you may know from the show as Ranga but also Saichi Sugimoto in "Golden Kamuy." Come join their panels on Friday and Saturday as they have some fun stuff planned at their events. 6) That’s not enough anime for Otakon, you say? Well, good thing we are far from finished. We also have FuRyu joining us, presenting the team behind "Laid Back Camp." Voice actress Sayuri Hara, whom you’ll know as Chiaki Ohgaki; producer Shoichi Hotta, whom you may also know for his work on "Kakegurui - Compulsive Gambler"; and director Yoshiaki Kyougoku. Inoue-san plays Mayumi Tachibana and Suwa-san was the producer. 8) Still not done, though! We are also joined by the incredibly talented Hiroshi Nagahama. He was director on "Mushishi," "Detroit Metal City," and "The Flowers of Evil." He also worked on "The Reflection" from 2017, which was co-created between Nagahama and Stan Lee. He’ll be out talking about his work over the year and being an all-around incredible person. 10) Our next amazing individual has worked on too many projects to count and needs no introduction. Masao Maruyama is joining us for the first time in Washington, DC. You will know Maruyama-san for his work on "Summer Wars" and "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time." Over the years, he has worked at MADHOUSE as president as well as at MAPPA and M2. 11) We couldn’t talk about veterans without mentioning Hirokatsu Kihara, who will be joining us again this year. Kihara-san worked at Studio Ghibli on some of its most legendary projects. While you’ve no doubt heard of "Laputa: Castle in the Sky" and "My Neighbor Totoro," he will be here to celebrate the 30thAnniversary of "Kiki’s Delivery Service." He’ll also be discussing ghost stories and all his adventures. 12) Of course, we couldn’t have an Otakon without amazing North American voice talent, as well! While we already mentioned Kirk Thorton and Kari Wahlgren will be joining us, we also have the amazingly talented industry veterans Richard Epcar and Ellyn Stern. We also have the superbly talented Erika Harlacher, whom you may know as Ann from "Persona 5"; Jason Leibrecht, whom you will know as Dabi in "My Hero Academia" or Hei from "Darker Than Black"; and Elizabeth Maxwell, who, you’ve heard as Midnight in "My Hero Academia" or Arisa Uotani in "Fruits Basket." 13) Speaking of "Fruits Basket," how could we forget about the Japanese voice cast of "Fruits Basket 2019," who will be here? Makoto Furukawa (Hatsuharu Soma), Manaka Iwami (Tohru Honda), and Nobunaga Shimazaki (Yuki Soma) will all be at Otakon. You’ll know many of them for their other roles, such as Saitama from "One Punch Man" (Makoto Furukawa), Maquia in "Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms" (Manaka Iwami), and Haruka in "Free!" (Nobunaga Shimazaki), along with countless other fantastic roles. 14) With enough music and anime to shake a stick at, we can move to some of our other amazing programming. Roxanne Modafferi and Serena DeJesus will be joining us again this year to show us some martial arts moves up close. They are both incredibly accomplished athletes, and we are so exited to have them back. 15) We also have the fantastic costumer designer Jez Roth. Make sure to see Jez’s Lip Synch for your Cosplay, as well as his new event, Project Cosplay live. Have you ever wanted to work on cosplays at a convention in from of an audience? Well, maybe it is a bit exciting for some, but we can't wait to see what everyone creates and to see people jam on stage at Lip Synch for your Cosplay. 16) Our video rooms this year are getting in the anniversary spirit by showing some of the most influential movies and shows of the last 25 years, right up to today, including "AKIRA," "Penguin Highway," a "Lupin the 3rd" double feature, "Bubblegum Crisis," and so much more. Be sure to check out one of the Saturday Morning Cartoon shows to check out fun episodes of some of the best retro anime in both subbed and dubbed theaters. 17) Our Workshop spaces are hosting the return of the ShoeString Scientists.
