- does not give a fuck about killing people, everyone comes to him he can wait

- is about as destructive as a sleeping kitten

- barely fucking pays attention offerings were mostly to HIS WIFE and HER MOM to get favour from him

- is also the god of wealth, volcanoes, and diamonds

Hades pops through this portal in full “what the fuck where am I where did everybody go” to see a room full of cultists in pitched battle with superheroes, and also Danny, who is another death god

There are two options from here:

1) Hades spots Danny, locks in on him as “ah yes an adult I shall ask him wtf is going on” and is utterly befuddled when Danny kicks his ass but assumes it’s a challenge or something and fights back

2) Hades gives a version of “wrong number, sorry” and dips

Maybe the League freak out because Where Did He Go What Is He Doing The God Of Death Is Loose

And Diana has to explain to them (yet again) that Hades is not Satan, he’s gone fucking home because Zeus THOUGHT he gave Hades the shitty kingdom…

But he fucking gave him the one with all the wealth of the universe, and all Hades has to do is chill the fuck out and wait because even the gods will come to him in time

There is a reason you only really see him in myths as a passive observer someone else wants something from, with the sole exception of Persephone

He’s like the one guy who did not get Ouranos’ Dramatic Bitch Genes (even Persephone’s story was fucking tame as far as the Greeks go, he grabbed her, pulled her down, and offered her a snack, no animal transformations or shit)

Hell, if Persephone’s in the story she’s usually the one making the final call (holla Orpheus) Hades deadass is not an active guy

Some occult group thinks the Fenton portal is a great option for summoning Hades. Hades is lord of the underworld and Phantom is king of the restless dead, which would normally make them equals. Except Danny has home field advantage (deathplace/grave/lifetime focal location. He was probably born there too, given his parents). Wonder Woman was working with JL Dark to stop the cult from summoning Hades only to see him get curb-stomped by a tiny teenager, who is also apparently a death god.

I was reading the Orphic Argonautica last night and the author has mentioned the various methods of divination Apollo knows and guess what? One of them is prophesying by studying the entrails of organisms. As soon as I read that I was reminded of your headcanon of Apollo being into hepatoscopy for divination and I giggled.

Hehe, so fun fact, the overall practice of divination by studying the entrails of animals (including blood, lungs, intestines and so forth) is extispicy while hepatoscopy is specifically using the liver in prophecy and divination readings.

If, like magic in old text exactly like the sort Medea is described as using, the types of divination spoken about in the texts are reflections of the popular divination cultures of the time, I much rather prefer ascribing those to Apollo than I do some vague, somewhat mysterious power which he uses to see the will of the fates, especially since it's mentioned a few times that he'll teach his sons the language of the birds and how to read their signs and so on and so forth.

In short: HEPATOSCOPY APOLLO IS COOL!! HE'S SO NEAT!! Apollo at the altar who predicts the coming droughts and famines from the entrails of his flock!! It's just such a neat little image (to me)!

Also the Orphic Argonautica bangs, genuinely I hope you enjoy it! Orpheus is an insane man and I do not think him along with the collective subspecies of mythical man known as 'sons of Apollo' get enough credit for how truly unhinged they are at any given point in time.

Anyway, here's how I headcanon timelord ageing works.

Only applies to their first body:

From when they're loomed until they are age 8 they age like a regular human

At age 8 their ageing slows down to around 15 years equalling 2 years of physical change (this isn't because of the schism, its more that this is the age they look into the schism bc of this being the point of slower aging)

This continues until they physically reach the age of around 40, then their ageing picks up again to be probably only a little slower than that of a human (every 2 years would be 1 year of physical ageing)

Post-first body ageing:

Every body after the first gains longer and longer "life span" so to speak (which means how long they can have that body before succumbing to "old age" would get longer with each regeneration, even if they regenerated with an old body)

Similar to the first body, after a certain amount of time the body's ageing will started rapidly increasing in speed

It all feels like a retcon starting from the first look at toga’s backstory because it doesn’t sync up when you put all her actions together. I thought maybe hori was trying to say toga’s quirk became unfortunately linked to arousal after years of suppressing it and it being triggered by her feeling of admiration for her crushes. But yeah that would have been too mature to tackle for my hero though I could maybe see it with chainsaw man. So I don’t know get what’s going on right now except toga’s mentally ill because of her parents and society and he keeps trying to make last minute parallels between toga and touya.

I think the issue is that Hori never spent as much time or effort on Toga as he did with Shigaraki and Touya. Even now her backstory is rather limited in comparison. We got full chapters worth to explore what happened to Touya and Tenko but Toga's is a couple pages or panels here or there with everything being rather vague.

Hori likes using her for sexy pictures and drawing suggestive stuff with Ochako, but she ultimately isn't given as much thought as her male counter parts. Which given the already bad implications of her character has only made her even worse.

Take this latest chapter. We get this page for Quirk counseling.

It's just 2 panels that are honestly really vague. It also comes after her drinking blood from a bird her parents think she killed. Toga says it fell on the ground but that doesn't mean she didn't kill it (baby birds are often on the ground until they fully can fly, or it could have been injured), so that's not helpful either. On top of that it makes sense her parents would find the behavior bad regardless because it either means she killed an animal or picked up an already dead one and proceeded to eat it. Neither of those are great and both are harmful to her.

We just don't really get a good look at how the Quirk counseling worked. They say that they'll make her 'normal' but that doesn't mean they abused her. They could have just explained why it was wrong for her drink blood, like the health issues it could cause. On top of that Hori drops the 'it happens all the time in our current society' line, but we have never seen anyone else like Toga. Not even Stain was ever hinted at being like Toga despite their similar blood based powers.

This is like if we reduced the Touya chapters to a black screen with Enji commenting that he can't train him anymore and we didn't get to see how much Touya struggled with what he perceived as rejection, or how Enji completely ignored him afterwards. Or if we cut Shigaraki's father's abuse to just him yelling at him in black panels before he accidentally killed his family.

Then we get this. This honestly makes Toga look worse, not better in my opinion. We see that she drank blood from someone before she snapped at school. She says they got hurt so she kissed it better, but if you look at her, she is covered in quite a bit of blood. Maybe her friend did get hurt but they were either really badly hurt and bleeding a lot and Toga did not help them and instead started licking them, or she might have even made their injuries worse to get the blood she wants.

If Hori cared more about her character he would have been shown what happened here. Or in the very least put less blood if any on Toga, which would show she didn't hurt this person or ignore helping them with a serious injury because she can't think of anything but blood.

As it is we have no idea if her friend got really badly injured and Toga ignored helping to just feast on them, or if her friend told her to stop, or if she made the person's injures worse. Yes, her parents are wrong for saying Toga's not human, but if she's attacking injured friends that's a huge problem.

One of the biggest issues with Toga is that she is both portrayed as so obsessed and desperate for blood she can't comprehend why anyone might not like her shoving a straw in their neck, but at the same time she was and is at times able to be perfectly fine. She can't understand why Ochako or Izuku, in desperate situations caused in part by her might not be happy with her, but can also turn around and comfort Twice and understand that he feels responsible for the death of a team mate.

It's impossible for me to feel bad for her because when I read her chapters I just see a drawing of an offensive stereotype that does what ever the author wants them to do. Toga just doesn't feel like a person at all. She's nothing but the sexy shell of a teenage girl that Hori doesn't seem all that invested in past her being cute and giving him an excuse to have two girls being all touchy and hot.

i think it says a lot about the people saying these things, that "misandrist sentiment" is usually accompanied by "you're not actually oppressed, you just got your feelings hurt." especially when you consider i've been internalizing that since age 13, when i first identified as a trans boy. that's a hell of a long time to be exposed to "just getting my feelings hurt." even adding more insult to injury that i wasn't even privileged and i'm also marginalized (also. a POC.) like.. do you really think a young teenager is gonna be able to emotionally handle "just getting their feelings hurt" on the basis of their identity. at what point would you consider maybe being kinder and being more compassionate cause that's what gets actual progress. like maybe if i started seeing that bullshit now, i'd be tired of it, but i wouldn't have internalized that i'm irreversibly a terrible person and it wouldn't have had such a lasting mental impact on me, wouldn't have taken me so much frustration to try to unlearn it and work it out.

and from what i've seen, especially for younger generations raised on the internet, this is.. kinda a decently common experience?from transmascs to even anyone who was AMAB, including cis guys -- we want to be progressive and help people but we're exposed to a lot of "lol men suck" even just jokingly, it's pervasive, it gets into our goddamn brains and makes us question everything and hurts us a lot, especially when it starts young. it makes a lot of trans people question if they're even supposed to be in the spaces that are supposed to support them. and hey, maybe that's what you actually want, for us to experience the "same" misogyny cause it will never be "as bad." but it's kind of really sucky cause a good number of us also experience misogyny on top of that so it's not like you're doing anyone any favors really. and even for cis guys it's just generally... not good. of course if you just enjoy making other people suffer out of revenge against misogyny in general, i guess that's your own thing and you can do that; if you genuinely want the power structure flipped on its head than have actual equality. but it is kinda stupid tbh.

and it also sucks that feminist spaces and society at large is not at ALL prepared to fully address all the ways that men suffer under the patriarchy, albeit differently from women it's still suffering. like. there's still a lot of cis men out there who think even the most basic things are gay, unmanly, feminine, not "real men" behavior. having a range of emotions, basic hygiene, the type of clothes you wear, your mannerisms and your lifestyle. and then there's a lot of feminists who think that men have nothing to suffer from and it's just so easy to "undo/unlearn/unpackage" a lot of this shit. and it sucks only trans people discuss this aspect a lot because it has affected all of us and shaped our experiences, but the deeper nuances of trans voices and experiences are not that heard in society.

i just. it's one of my hopes this is a subject that gains more importance in society within my lifetime. liberation for all or liberation for none ok.
