i loooove when ocs unrealized development makes them feel like real people like no i dont know whether talon is genuinely attracted to women after years of both clinging to them for safety and years of putting them onto that untouchable idealized Perfect Protector Pedestal that must remain untainted by any bad experiences, so he doesn't even try to Be With any. He doesn't know either

#atropos' design is still somewhat incomplete because there are details i want to add#but for the most part their arms and legs are the ones sporting armor (and decadent ones at that)#because their only worth is the part of them that can partake in action. that can kill and chase and maim and just Do#you wouldn't keep an old hound around in a world like this out of pure sentiment - no. it does its job well#and you'll run it's snout into the ground before you lay it to rest#and they don't have armor on their viral organs because they simply do not care if they die. in fact - if there's anything strong enough to#even NICK their vulnerable body parts? they'll count that as a luxury. better to die a soldier's death than to die discarded#alas... no one or thing has been strong enough to truly challenge their lax approach. yet#lachesis is decadent to the max - they sport jewelery of all types. they are gold and ivory. they are glory in every detail#because its human geniusry they're wearing. and they can only bathe in it as an untalented curator indulges in a gallery of masterpieces#maybe if they shroud themself in enough detail then you'll miss the rot in their sclera and hands. the unblinking smile#the 2 faces beneath their veil#clotho is supposed to be a LOT more gaunt than i draw them im still trying to figure them out#as in. they're literally just skin and bones and rot. all their flesh melted off#they swindle themself in simple cloth to portray themself as assuming and innocent#as trustworthy and pure. to hide the sharp edges beneath linen#they take such strong inspiration from a character inspired by plague doctors despite being an obstetrician#they save lives. in every way of the word. they midwife to birthing mothers and they expel sickness and disease#and they bring your dying self back from the dead. not truly. not wholly. but still - you still serve some use.#theirs is not the sanctity of life. but rather the utility of it

feeling complicated things this wednesday at 2pm
#thinking abt how at the tail end of high school both friend groups Completely cut me off..one because 1 girl was jealous the other#was soending more time with me and was tired of being essentially bullied by her. but not enough to not cut me out :')#and the other bc the Main Girl decided she didnt like me calling her out for being a jackass so she condemned me and the rest were too#afraid to challenge her lol. they ended up literally replacing me with a kid 2 yrs younger that i had previously been assigned as big siste#to??? lol and even she was happy to be included which. fine she was a kid not really her fault#but then 1 month after graduating wgich i sat thru Alone omi had her 1st stroke and then the hospital failed to notice the 2nd one she had#in their care. so my best and only friend in the world had her life stolen from her and her biggest fear realized overnight.#so ofc i completely shut down and ny mom is so personally offended by this she becomes wildly cruel and bullies the fuck out of ME#and i had already been suicidal for like a decade at that point and was Only staying alive for her sake. suddenly that was all for nothing#so i give up get into drugs and alcohol after having never touched any if it VEHEMENTLY being against it at all but fuck it at that point#which spirals into me dating my ex who was my new boss after my parents forced me to get a new job despite already deciding i was gonna kms#so he sexually harasses me until i say sure fuck it why not . except it turns out i fall in love easily. bc i had never dated before.#and then im public enemy number one for this and all the family friends and STRANGERS regardless of watching ne grow up or not#decide to jump on the lets attack slash be rude to slash bully this kid even more so they KNOW we dissaprove#anyway. its been a very long 9 years.#this is me Still leaving significant shit out too. god lol i was ROBBED of my early adulthood truly

#Stoat Plays#4-2 took so long that God Damn The Sun has permanently embedded itself in my vocabulary#Ended up P-Ranking it by racking up a TON of style on regular enemies then defeating the Insurrectionist with cheese strats#(Read: I made it fall into a pit for the instakill then BOLTED towards the level exit)#I am sincerely Not excited for P-Ranking the rest of Act 2 though; Wrath especially I know I will STRUGGLE with the water challenges#I say not excited I’m still for sure excited. I just know I will Suck Ass at them#ALSO I found Sisyphus’s tomb while dicking around and. Where’s his head.#His beheading was a pretty important plot point. Where is it.#(Probably in P-2 but still)#ALSO also what stuck out to me is that the bindings on his husk were pretty similar to the bindings on Minos’s husk despite them being in-#-Two completely different layers. Though they did have the same executioner so that’s probably why#I guess Gabriel wanted to REALLY make sure Sisyphus’s husk didn’t reanimate itself because Minos was at least a pacifist in life.#Sisyphus’s husk probably would’ve hit back twice as hard because it no longer has a mind that allows for ANY restraint#Anyway long ass wall of tags. #dc spoilers#memory identification CHALLENGE#okay so: obviously there's the 'waking up in cadmus'#the friends don't seem like a reference to anything - i mean ig it could be donna's death but i think they're just a generic memory#or possibly it's yj:dc and there's just nothing that actually happened to reference?#i think that's tara dying#and then the last one: match punching him?or is it superboy-prime punching him?#(to be conner is to be constantly getting punched by alternate superboys dsfdsfs)#anyway (despite this one angsty panel) this was fun and zippy#v. light-hearted and not a whole lot to it - looks like it'll be space adventure + punching-stuff#there isn't enough here to really hook me but the art is cute and conner's narration is bouncy#so if they keep putting it on the app i'll probably keep reading#i really wish. mm. okay WARNING RANT INCOMING this is kind of tangential and maybe it's just the comics that i pick up#but i feel like of the few modern comics i've picked up - a lot of them are very light on the characters having concrete problems#even problems as simple as 'getting bad grades in school' or 'have to lie to my dad' or 'need a job to pay the rent'#like. i feel like tim in robin '93 had concrete problems that couldn't be solved with a pep talk and 'you just gotta believe in yourself'#dick in nightwing '97 - same! concrete personal life problems that could not be resolved by a pep talk!#and i really miss. like. characters experiencing dilemmas or having to make trade-offs#and just generally i miss a bit more realism - like. conner feels unneeded. okay? so?#shouldn't he be going to school or something? why is costume-stuff top of mind? where are the authority figures/external forces?#i think these kinds of intensely-internal problems can work in non-visual fiction bc you're in the character's head BUT#comics are largely visual and everything with real emotional punch works way better if it's concrete things that i can see#anyway that's just my personal preferences though and it's not superboy's fault!#conner's never been a realistic character - he had goofy merchandising and was a kid celebrity and so forth#and although i didn't read his preboot solo i don't think he ever went to school there either? except in adventure comics?#so he seems very well-suited to plucky space-adventure#and i wish him the best. go forth and prosper conner!! punch those aliens!!
