HC; Tenacity.
This is one of those qualities I hadn't talked on often enough. Though, if there's one motto that can be taken, it's that Destiny Islands does not raise quitters.
Even with how much Sora has to actively battle matters with his self-esteem, there's only critical moments where it genuinely becomes debilitating. I'd like to say this is drawn from his sense of character that knows how to keep himself steady. Ever since the very start of his long journey, this was pivotal in order to keep him from crushing under the massive weight that would inevitably follow.
That said, the systems around him often promote the grounds of this trait. For to be a wielder of the keyblade to begin with, there's some form of anchor that's held within the Heart. It's within this very anchor that inspires bravery, courage or understanding in order to let the keyblade to be the key to that potential. To accept handling this armament means to accept that you're daring to promote change.
Change that doesn't hold no moral horizon. For even a determination tempered to end all creation as an ambition could also lead its power. For the way these weapons choose aren't fixed in morality, solely in the resolve in the wielder that can tap into its very potential. There's a method to this formula of awakening.
That said! We naturally know it's also the band of warriors that Sora aligned himself with that pays another pivotal part. Learning from them, teaching them, spending welcomed days and dealing with dangerous clashes all the same. In lieu of what the keyblade promotes, his inherent qualities as a loving soul is what ignites the sheer gravity in his connections. Like his companions from the islands, the merry band from Traverse Town to now Hollow Bastion, across multiple universes, a life like his holds change as a constant.
The importance of not giving up on himself, of not giving up on others, he just cannot be someone who doesn't actively seek the best within people. In that same vein he can't be a person who'd allow calamity to simply thrive due to a bitter tale. Drive inspires him to act accordingly.
#| HCs#just had to ponder on why 'a Sora showing sadness' isn't often a thing#he does but it's in ways where he seeks console in others vs groveling#despite being the resident lazy bum of destiny islands#he's v proactive
