Gentle fingertips intertwined delicately between long, blonde strands, tying the beautiful golden tufts in a pristine crown braid. As was often the case, surely mother and father would fuss and say such personal attendances were to be left up to their handmaidens, but should there ever be a person in this world she'd bend the rules for, it was her beloved twin. Pinning the trail in place, she then put her hands lightly upon the girl's shoulders, leaning down to look over her shoulder and into the mirror.

The reflections gazing back were two identical sets of azure optics. Sonja, the older, smiled upon Sonia, the younger. She ran an hand down the silken strands for good measure, and not a single knot remained.

"Beautiful as ever, dearest little sister."

"Oof!" Mondo grunted in surprise when he felt her crash into him. "Jeez, woman! Take it easy, will ya?" He sighed, shaking his head but he couldn't hold back a little smile.

"Alright, alright. Where to?"

“Just relax, I’ll wash your hair for you.” 

With one arm in a cast, it was more than a little difficult to perform tasks she wouldn't think much about with two hands. For example, bathing proved frustrating when Iako had been given specific instruction to keep the cast dry.... which ultimately lead to the embarrassing situation of seeking out the help of the one other person she felt somewhat okay with seeing her like this. Er, naked..

Still, being together didn't prevent the raging blush from keeping up her neck at the feeling of Sonia taking a spot behind her in the tub and offering to wash her hair. (In a way, it made her more antsy... worried that she'd do something wrong.) Calm down, Iako, you've faced much bigger and nastier challenges then this...

"Fine, okay..." She quickly muttered when she realized the princess' fingers had paused in her hair, seemingly waiting for a response. Eyes darted to the side, wondering just how long this would take and finding herself unsure if she wanted this to go quickly or for as long as it could.

(Feelings were hard, she missed it when she could go throughout her day uncaring of anything and not getting flustered over some pretty, pretty princess...)

it   feels   so   wonderful,   so   forbidden   —   for   two   women   to   gossip   as   though   it's   their   own   scared   language.   to   finally   ease   into   the   commonality,   the   actuality   of   relating   to   another   person   :   a   foreignness   that   feels   stark   to   mikan,   unfamiliar,   terror   baring   teeth   like   a   sharpened   knife   block.   nursely   slack   expression   was   an   allusion   to   her   benignity   /   heraldess   of   hospitality.

❝   ahh,   i-   it   makes   sense   that   s-   someone   as   refined   as   you   would   love   the   classics.   ❞   pleasant   grin,   radiant   glow   of   acceptance   illuminating   the   apples   of   her   cheeks.   ❝   i   have   been   watching   the   final   destination   films   recently   .   .   .   it's   j-   just   so   titillating   to   see   all   those   horrible   p-   people   die   strange   and   cruel   deaths   !   ❞   perhaps   a   bit   too   much   excitement   regarding   the   content   of   said   film   franchise.

❝   sp-   split   the   cost   ?   ❞   she   echoed,   processing   the   words   over   and   over   in   her   mind.   it   seemed   the   safest   of   option,   no   crying   of   her   burden   thrust   onto   sonia   should   the   princess   suffer   the   brunt   of   the   cost,   nor   any   resignation   to   her   status   of   lesser   should   the   cost   be   left   up   to   her.   ❝   o-   okay.   that's   .   .   .   a   great   idea,   nevermind   -   san.   ❞

    The moment Mikan mentioned she liked horror films; Sonia lit up like a Christmas tree. It would be nice to have a friend that shared similar interests. Something the princess had yearned for, for so long. Something that she was denied back in her home country. That now she was finally allowed to do freely as a normal girl.

    “I quite enjoy the blood myself,” she whispers almost conspiratorially. As she was aware her proclivities were not exactly princessly. “The slashers are my favorite; like Jason or the Michael Myers. I do hope the other girls do not mind.”

    Sonia’s head cocked to the side as Mikan mentioned paying for the snacks. It was something she had not even thought of. “Do not fret Mikan, we can split the cost.” After all money was never really something that the princess had to worry about. “We are going to have a fantastic time – I promise.” She wanted to show Mikan, that friendship was not transactional. That they could simply just be.

To Kazuichi’s surprise delight, he was met with a smile instead of a sneer, the mechanic so very sure that his past behavior was unforgivable and that Sonia would live out the rest of her days hating his guts. He would have understood, of course, he had been rather...vile. A lengthy intervention conversation with Hajime and Fuyuhiko is when he learned just how badly he was acting, Kaz genuinely not realizing just how uncomfortable he had been making her. Social cues often went over his head, and with his only role model being his father, well...

It took quite some time, but eventually he realized the Sonia he said he loved didn’t actually exist anywhere but his own mind. He did his best to explain as much to her once reality came crashing down on him, not to excuse his actions, but to explain them in the hopes it would show that he had realized his wrongs, and that he wasn’t about to make those mistakes again. To him back then, she was perfect, someone that his father would no doubt approve of, and maybe he would finally think something of his son if Kaz had gotten with someone like Sonia. 

But now? His dad was dead, killed by Kaz’s own hand in the throes of despair. There was no one left to fear impress, it was just him now. Many of them were the last of their family after what had happened, Kazuichi could still remember Gundham’s screams after he awoke from the program and the memories slowly trickled back. He had killed his mother in a mercy, to keep her from seeing what the world had become. They struck an accord that night, Kazuichi having been the one to find him curled up in the corner of his cabin. Their relationship was still rocky, but after a heartfelt talk where they both confessed they never actually hated each other, a friendship had begun, slowly but surely. 

An idea struck him then, as he turned the coconut about in his hands, seeking a soft spot to pry it open, a grin growing across his face as he turned to Sonia with renewed excitement. “Hey, I got an idea! Dorklord hasn’t left his room in forever, right? Maybe...maybe we can drag him out, and he can help us find some fruits in the forest, and we can make a whole feast of this! He knows where a lot of stuff is ‘cause of his animals, we found a shit ton of melons out there once!” That was back when gundham had left his room on his own for the first time, Kazuichi refusing to leave his side with the state he had been in since waking. It felt like so long ago now...

“Unless you think we shouldn’t bug ‘im. You know how he’s been since...” Everything.

currently reading : Nothing at present, I just finished Jeanette McCurdy's memoir I'm Glad My Mom Died. Been reading a lot of manga/manhwa recently - How Do We Relationship? My Princess Charming, and No Love Lost Lady (many, many trigger warnings for this one). I've been enjoying reading more recently! I am always soliciting wlw/sapphic content so hmu with your best recommendations!

last movie : I saw Suzume with my girlfriend a few weeks ago. If you liked Your Name + Weathering With You, you'll like it probably, if you didn't, you won't. If you liked Your Name and thought Weathering With You was derivative... probably you will think Suzume is derivative too. I'd say not as good as Your Name but better than Weathering With You, and generally a nice watch.

last show : Just started Lycoris Recoil with my anime buddy over the weekend, looks promising! Also Ted Lasso season 3, which I definitely feel like is a step down in quality from season 1 and 2, but is still a decent watch.

what are you wearing right now : It's hot, so I'm just wearing a light t-shirt and some shorts and trying not to sweat my life away.

piercings / tattoos? : Earlobes pierced, left forearm half-sleeve tattooed! I want more piercings and tattoos eventually but money...

glasses ? contacts?: I have glasses, but they're for eye strain rather than for vision correction. That said, it feels like my vision is getting worse, so I should probably get my eyes checked soon.

last thing you ate? : Uhhhhhhhh... coffee and a few strips of bacon for breakfast I think.

favorite color(s) : Purple! Red is my second favorite though, and I have a lot more red stuff than purple stuff.

oh! how the mighty fall~ sonia, darling, who sits behind her to brush her hair, junko's signature pigtails pulled out and loose to be admired, all golden blonde, like sonia's own. only everything about her is fake... the smile, THE HAIR, the everything. sonia, though... she sits there with all that delicate ease, as if she hadn't a single worry... perhaps, because that was the way that junko made it so. warping her mind, twisting her heart. sonia truly thinking, now, that she was here doing her kingdom good!

when really, it sat in ashes by their feet, outside these walls. tall, tall, the castle sits, the princess and THE ULTIMATE DESPAIR within it. untouchable and problematic, the future foundation would find no place within here to make purchase. the brush combing, rhythmic... and junko wonders.

Kokichi twitched his fox-like ears as he heard someone approaching him. He turned around quickly from what he was doing to greet the person intruding on his very important and very busy work. He blinked a bit shocked that he was suddenly approached by the so called Ultimate Princess. This was sure to be very interesting. He had of course done his own research into her and was very curious. She could be of potential use to him after all.

The kistune looked the princess up and down before plastering a grin onto his face. He took her hand in his own and gave her a firm handshake. “Kokichi Ouma! Ultimate Supreme Leader!” He then pulled his hand back quickly and moved to put his hands behind his head. His grin turning into more of a smirk “But I am sure you already new that~ Not many people wouldn’t know someone as great and important as me~ Now what would the Ultimate Princess want with little old me? Make it quick too. I am a very busy person after.” He shrugged his shoulders but made no move to leave despite his words.

    Kokichi was intriguing to Sonia – after all he was the Ultimate Supreme Leader. What could such a title possibly entail? She could not wait to get to know him better. Due to their labels, they were both destined to rule. Perhaps he could understand her in ways others could not. “It is most pleasing to meet you. I am Sonia Nevermind!” A dazzling smile grew brighter – as she extended her hand in his direction.

"Boring?" His eyes widened a little in surprise. How could she possibly think she was boring in the slightest? "Not at all! I think you're the most interesting person in this room. Maybe even in this city."

Mondo knew a lot of influential people, but its not like his gang was yakuza or anything. He had never met someone with such.. elegance and class. Maybe she was a mob boss. It wasn't unheard of. Despite how wealthy and out of place she looked right now, she had walked in here with confidence like she owned the damn bar. Honestly, he had only stepped in to make that guy go away because it was the right thing to do. She hadn't even seemed distressed about it. Maybe she was some sort spy or secret agent or something? No.. that was just silly. Still, he wanted to ask what exactly this business was that she spoke of so nonchalantly, but.. if she wanted to tell him, she would. He wasn't going to twist her arm about it.

He was snapped out of this embarrassing reverie when he realized she had mentioned his motorcycle. Nothing sounded better to him right now than going somewhere else. The few men who continued to leer at her were making him angry, and he didn't want to get angry in front of a beautiful woman who was only in town for a little while.

"I can take you for a ride right now, if you want." He smiled. Maybe it was a bit forward but this girl looked like she knew how to say no if she was uncomfortable, so he didn't feel too weird bringing it up. "I know this area pretty well. And this area knows me. If theres anything you wanna see, I'm your guy. Maybe.. I can tell you about some of those adventures, too." He leaned across the counter, just barely, a little closer. When their eyes met, it was like he could feel electricity flowing through his veins.

This was forbidden. He just knew it.

But knowing better had never stopped him before.

Her laughter was beautiful. Like soft, sweet music he never thought somebody like himself would have the pleasure of hearing with the sort of life he lived.

And oh God, her smile.

The last thing Mondo expected was to be showered in such compliments by somebody like her. Sure, he'd had flings before. Girlfriends, even. But they were all some type of rugged like he was. Not that this was a bad thing, he just.. didn't know how to respond to such feminine charm as this. She looked so delicate, but there was a powerful fire in her eyes. He felt clumsy and awkward just being in her presence.

"M-Me?" He asked, genuinely astounded that somebody like Sonia could possibly be interested in someone as mediocre as him. If she wanted to know, he wasn't about to deny her though. He noticed his face felt warm and that.. he must have been blushing. Oh, God. Oh no.

He waved the bartender over again to refill Sonia's glass, sliding over some cash. Hopefully she would be distracted enough with her drink to not notice his pink cheeks.

"Eh, there's not a whole lot to tell. Nothin' you'd be interested in, I bet." He sighed, downing the remainder of his own drink and placing his empty glass back on the countertop. "But, if you really wanna know.. I'm the leader of a pretty well known biker gang around here. Used to belong to my bro, but I took over when he.." He paused for a beat as if to think for a moment before continuing. "When he retired."

Yeah, hopefully that explanation would do.

"I guess my biggest passion is just takin' care of my boys, y'know?" He laughed, a little nervously. "And motorcycles, of course."

The sudden touch from her foot almost made him jump, but when he looked in her eyes he felt a wave of calmness wash over him that made him melt.

Shit, he was in love.
