Classic rock album with some killer tracks, such as "Breakdown" and "My Generation". Great addition to any music library.

Fox on the Mirror
No, dear Kiss friends, this one is not about Eric Carr, although the question of what Carnival of Souls would have sounded like with Eric Carr on drums would certainly be an interesting one.
In the Mirror (1997) is in a way the only ray of hope for many old (school) fans on the album already indicated above, and you don't have to guess why, because it sounds in stark contrast to the rest of its song material so much more like familiar old school 70's Kiss, and thus the good old days (1).
And, of course, to a certain extent like The Sweet, I would just say.
But that certainly wouldn't bother anyone, because there are also other old klassik Kiss songs that were inspired a little by The Sweet, and from many, many other bands from the 70s and the 60s, and certainly from the 50s as well. And without any influence from the 80s they probably would have looked a lot older in the 80s than they already did, but even that's generally pretty accepted as well. And that's a good thing.
Only the 90s seem to have been memorized as more than just ambivalent to very bad in the collective swarm intelligence of said conspiratorial fan community, more or less of course, because far fewer of them have ever voiced such great criticism of the reunion, but the latter didn't want to revive much other than the beloved 70s anyway.
Still, and thankfully Fox on the Run (1975) wasn't released in those evil 90s, because otherwise we'd have another song to collectively hate.
More or less.
Side Note:
(1) Which may also be due to unmistakable self-references from Dressed to Kill (1975).
You oughta klick on the links and take a look at the verses, every line's getting clearer, and see the vocal resemblance you can't deny:

I love this image, and I don’t know why; I’m not particularly fond of snow, or bone-chilling cold. It seems so desolate, and it frightens me to think of being here even if I weren’t alone. I just feel dread. So why do I want to walk through here?

The Sweet - The Ballroom Blitz 1973
"The Ballroom Blitz" is a song by British glam rock band The Sweet, written by Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman. The song reached number one in Canada, number two in the UK Singles Chart and the Australian Chart, and number five on the US Billboard Hot 100. It remains an enduring favourite, with more than 90 million streams on Spotify alone by the end of 2022. "The Ballroom Blitz" was inspired by an incident on 27 January 1973 when the band were performing at the Grand Hall in Kilmarnock, Scotland, and were driven offstage by a bottling. The song appeared on the US and Canadian versions of Desolation Boulevard but never appeared on a Sweet album in the UK, other than hits compilations. The initial guitar and drum riff of the song has similarity to a 1963 song by Bobby Comstock called "Let's Stomp".
An early cover of "The Ballroom Blitz" was by the Les Humphries Singers in 1974, the first German single to reach #1 in New Zealand. The Damned covered it in 1979, which featured Lemmy from Motörhead on bass guitar, and Tia Carrere did a cover on the soundtrack to Wayne's World in 1992. In 2020, industrial metal band 3Teeth released Guns Akimbo, a two-track set that included a cover version of "The Ballroom Blitz", which was previously featured in the 2019 action comedy film Guns Akimbo.
"The Ballroom Blitz" received a total of 84,2% yes votes!
