Mick Rock, famed music photographer and ‘man who shot the 70s’, dies aged 72
The music photographer Mick Rock – official photographer to David Bowie and “the man who shot the 70s” – has died aged 72.
The news was confirmed by his representative in a statement that described Rock as a “photographic poet” and “a true force of nature who spent his days doing exactly what he loved, always in his own delightfully outrageous way”.
Rock created the abiding images of Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust era, shot the cover for his 1973 album Pinups and directed videos for Space Odyssey, Life on Mars, Jean Genie and John, I’m Only Dancing.
The pianist Mike Garson, a longtime collaborator with Bowie, called Rock “one of a kind, with such an eye for aesthetics and seizing the right moments … Mick gave so much to this planet and he adored David”.
Sharon Osborne – whose husband Ozzy was shot by Rock – and British music photographer Kevin Cummins were also among those to pay tribute.
Rock also created iconic album artwork for artists including Lou Reed (Transformer, Coney Island Baby), the Stooges (Raw Power), the Ramones (End of the Century), Joan Jett (I Love Rock’n’Roll) and Queen’s Queen II, an image that the group repurposed for the video of Bohemian Rhapsody as well as their album Sheer Heart Attack.
He continued to shoot throughout his life, later producing album artwork for Atlas Sound (Parallax), Black Lips (Underneath the Rainbow) and Miley Cyrus (Plastic Hearts).
Rock also worked in film, shooting production stills for cult musicals The Rocky Horror Picture Show and the John Cameron Mitchell films Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Shortbus.
Michael David Rock was born in 1948 in Hammersmith. He studied medieval and modern languages at Cambridge and made headlines when he was arrested for marijuana possession at university. He first picked up a camera during an acid trip, although later discovered there was no film in it.
It was at Cambridge that Rock started shooting the local music scene, befriending the local musician Syd Barrett – for whose debut solo album, The Madcap Laughs, he shot the artwork – and Mick Jagger’s younger brother, Chris.
Rock met Bowie backstage at Birmingham Town Hall in the middle of the Ziggy Stardust tour, when the musician was still a cult act. He credited a shot of Bowie simulating oral sex on Mick Ronson’s guitar as launching both of their careers.
“The guitar fellatio shot with Mick Ronson was an image that really got around, especially when it got to America,” Rock said. “And David would talk about being bisexual and would put on lipstick and drive people crazy. Mick wasn’t gay and the photo isn’t meant to suggest they had a thing, David was just trying to bite Mick’s guitar. For the first time people started to ask, ‘Who took this picture?’”
It was Bowie who introduced him to Lou Reed and Iggy Pop, leading to connections with the wider 70s rock scene including Debbie Harry and Andy Warhol – whom he once photographed alongside Truman Capote dressed in a Santa outfit.
Reed showed Rock New York’s gay underground. “I was fascinated,” said Rock. “We were upsetting the straight society, and just having fun. When I got to New York it was like Sodom and Gomorrah gone berserk! London was naughty, but nothing like New York.”
Rock’s process was “more of an intuitive thing rather than a heavily pre-designed thing”, he told the BBC. “I am in the business of evoking the aura of the people and photographing.
“I’m not necessarily looking for a literal reality, I’m looking for something that’s got a bit of magic to it, and quite where that comes from or when that moment is you can’t prescribe.”
He representatives’ statement said: “The stars seemed to effortlessly align for Mick when he was behind the camera. Feeding off of the unique charisma of his subjects electrified and energised him … A man fascinated with image, he absorbed visual beings through his lens and immersed himself in their art, thus creating some of the most magnificent photographs rock music has ever seen.”
In the mid-90s, Rock said he almost died following two decades of substance abuse – he called himself a “compulsive experimenter” – undergoing a quadruple heart bypass that he said was paid for by Rolling Stones managers Allen Klein and Andrew Loog Oldham. He also received a kidney transplant.
“I was broke, and being broke is not fun, especially with a serious cocaine habit,” he said. “I had the IRS up my ass, I had a child, I owned nothing, I was in debt and I got a messy reputation because of my habit. The quality of my photography didn’t suffer, but I became less and less reliable in terms of meetings and delivery times. Eventually, the phone stopped ringing.”
He credited yoga, massage and meditation with helping his rehabilitation, as well as never having touched heroin or alcohol. By the 2000s, classic rock photography had taken on a huge cultural appeal, regularly producing exhibitions and books. Renewed interest in Rock’s work gave the photographer a fresh start, shooting the likes of Kate Moss, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Pharrell.
Rock published several books collecting his most famous photographs and hosted the documentary series On the Record With Mick Rock, in which he met musicians such as Kings of Leon and Patti LaBelle and toured their home towns.
Rock lived in New York City on Staten Island with his wife Pati and daughter Nathalie.
He recently said that he had been “offered millions” for his archives, to which he retained copyright. “So why not cash in and do a Bob Dylan?” he said. “Well, if it was worth that much I might be tempted, because that’s just unbelievable. I have thought about it but it’s not going to happen right now. When it does I plan to leave some to the yogis and some to my college, because that’s where I learned all my mischief.”

The Huge difference Between Psychedelic and Neo-Psychedelic Stone
Psychedelic Stone is likely the main category in Stone history. Bred from the 1960's counterculture based on taking psychedelic drugs in order to experience a heightened feeling of truth through distortions, vibrations, vibrant colorizations and lucid dreaming, the tradition tried to reproduce LSD results through vivid pictures and sounds.
Psychedelic Stone is indicated by greatly enacted instrumentation. Reverb echoes incessantly, tremolo takes the area of normal lead guitar lines, while distortion buzzes throughout. Words attempted to relay thoughts and thoughts made during these cosmic inner journeys.
The noise was pioneered by The Beatles, and adopted by such bands as The Yardbirds, Treatment, Red Floyd and The Jimi Hendrix Experience. The group generally caused by inventing the definition of Psychedelic Stone is the Austin, TX centered The 13th Ground Elevators.
The action attack their peak with The Beatles'Sgt. Pepper's Unhappy Spirits Team Group, The Moving Rocks'Their Satanic Majesties Demand, Red Floyd's The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, all ultimately climaxing in 1969 at Woodstock, where psychedelic functions such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Santana played.
Numerous events led to the drop in acceptance of Psychedelic Rock. LSD had been declared illegal, the web link between ayahuasca Sharon Tate's kill by Charles Manson and The Beatles'"Helter Skelter" led to a "hippie backlash "."Acid casualties", or persons adversely affected by hallucinogens and drugs generally, became posters for preventing psychedelic activities: Syd Barrett's madness, the deaths of John Morrison, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin led to an even more organic "back once again to principles" development in Rock.
But, because of the charm of Psychedelic Stone, new styles were being formed, including Gradual Stone and Heavy Metal. Artists who grew up listening to Psychedelia however desired to get aspects from the action, and involved their favorite aspects within their respective sounds.
In the late 1970's, bands generally in the Post-Punk scene strived to revive Psychedelia, blending the distortions, reverb and phaser (et al) with the encouraging party beats of New Wave. Groups such as Siouxsie and the Banshees, Indicate and the Bunnymen, The Smooth Guys, and The Church employed the 60's nuances to full 80's effect.Hence, Neo-Psychedelia stumbled on be.
The acceptance of those bands bled into the 90's, with the Shoegaze of My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus of Linda Cycle holding around from the 80's, the emergence of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Dandy Warhols, and the Electric 6 Combined including The Apples in Stereo, of Montreal, and Simple Dairy Hotel. Neo-Psychedelia can basically be summed up as any kind of audio adding Psychedelic aspects within their songs.
True Psychedelic Stone is untouchable, having finished with the drop of the counterculture. If one were to publish original tunes in the Psychedelic Stone design these tunes would be Neo-Psychedelic.
Psychedelic Audio was so strong in their statement, generally through their promise of encountering heightened artwork, that it continues to take over our musical developments to this day. And I'm willing to bet that it will never fizzle out entirely.

∆∆ Part 6: While not exactly yellow in color, important to note the two loan sharks enter from the sand, rocks screen right and a camel screen left. Recalls Jesus’ parable, “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”
∆∆ Part 6: The sunlight illuminating Janey’s blonde hair on her right side as she finger-pointing lectures the loan sharks about current recession era economics, and reverses the numerals of their demand for $52,000 to her "first, last, and only” offer of $25,000.
∆∆ Part 6: Yellow chair and golden carpet as Ike the Spike attacks Lorraine.
∆∆ Part 6: Yellow car screen right as Richard passes in his truck.
∆∆ Part 6; Getting deep here, but notice Richard is wearing Dr. Marten boots, with their trademark yellow stitching marked over in black, just like the Ford with it’s yellow interior has also been painted over in black, with the black paint obscuring the chrome Ford lettering on the hood.
∆∆ Part 6: Golden name plate and badge as Hawk drops a coin.
∆∆ Part 6: Hawk discovers yellowed pages from Laura Palmer’s diary.
∆∆ Part 6: Yellow detail on map. Yellow words “CRIME” on officer’s jacket screen right
∆∆ Part 6: Frank takes blonde haired Doris into a golden-hued hallway to calm her down.
∆∆ Part 6: Sharon Van Etten plays golden sunburst guitar next to blonde haired keyboardist with the uncanny middle name of “Pennypacker.”
What are the yellow objects? Art, police badges and signage, lamps, files and papers, pencils, traffic lights, signs and lines, car parts, tabletops, furniture, buildings, medicine, clothes, wedding rings and jewelry, trees and leaves, sunlight, blonde hair, a telephone, and a mystic flame.
Why yellow objects? The golden hued logo at the start of Part 6 suggested I pay attention to that color.
What did I find? Yellow objects in almost every scene. Except the Diane scene and “coin trick” scene between Richard and Red, where black, white and silver dominate. Telling that Richard drives a yellow truck painted black and white, just like he blacked out the yellow stitching of his Dr. Marten’s. Richard is suppressing the yellow and causing nothing but destruction.
What does yellow mean? Authority, power, trouble, safety, caution, danger, aid, help, wealth, marriage, fear, beauty, ferocity, age, but ultimately in the color spectrum, yellow is a liminal line before the warmer colors hit the cooler colors. Next on the spectrum is green. Yellow is the border between the Red Room/Black Lodge and the earthly Twin Peaks.
∆∆ Part 10: The Rancho Rosa logo before Part 10 is the inverse of Part 6. Instead of a yellow brand over a grey background, we have a grey brand over a yellow background. Is Part 10 an inverse of Part 6? Stay tuned for another installment of KPJK253 ...

L.A. Weekly: A Look Back at 40 Years of Irreverence and Devotion to L.A.
When editor-founder Jay Levin had the mad idea to start a weekly alternative newspaper in Los Angeles in 1978, corralling a small group of investors including actor Michael Douglas, there were already such notable predecessors as Los Angeles Free Press and the Village Voice. But Levin's L.A. Weekly soon tapped into — and helped to propel — a riotous explosion in art, music, fashion, film and literature that had long been simmering around the Southland and by the late '70s had begun welling up with a force that could no longer be contained in the underground.
The city's newspapers of record, the Los Angeles Herald Examiner and the Los Angeles Times, were fairly conservative back then, and the two publications' cultural coverage generally centered on the mainstream preoccupations and vanities of their perceived audience of mostly white, mostly male and mostly upper- and middle-class readers. Some of the more perceptive writers at both papers made fitful attempts to tap into the burgeoning local interest in underground film, art and punk rock, for instance, but there were suddenly dozens of events at new venues every week that escaped notice or were too subversive to merit the full attention of those two staid newspapers.
If nothing else, L.A. Weekly quickly filled a void that hadn't existed a few years earlier — a void of a void, if you will — eventually outdistancing such local alt-weekly rivals as Los Angeles Reader by having more comprehensive calendar listings of both mainstream and indie films as well as compiling virtually every major concert and tiny gig at local dives every week, alongside extensive listings for dance, theater, readings, politics and other events. These weren't just flat, dry recitations of show dates and times; wise-ass music writers such as the late Scott Morrow, classical-music maven Mary Beth Crain and music critic Jonny Whiteside took gleeful delight in goring the prevailing sacred cows of the 1980s (Whiteside continues to do so today) while championing iconoclastic new performers several years before the rest of the world caught up to them. Early editor/co-founder/publisher Joie Davidow had a lot to do with setting the tone of the newspaper's style and vision, and her efforts to make the Weekly embrace all the local sub-scenes in art and fashion were carried on in part by longtime calendar editor Sharon Bell.
As L.A. Weekly grew over the course of its first decade, the paper expanded to encompass a variety of distractions and provocations, from Matt Groening's "Life in Hell" comic (which continued running every week for years, long after the artist found fame as the creator of The Simpsons) to other recurring strips and columns by Lynda Barry, Carol Lay, Lalo Alcaraz and Robbie Conal, among others. The newspaper also championed the work of numerous artful and, on occasion, even daringly brave photographers, from Ted Soqui to Virginia Lee Hunter and many others. Hollywood punk princess Pleasant Gehman launched an audacious gossip column, "L.A. Dee Da," that was carried on over the years in evolving formats by archly witty and remorselessly wicked modern-day Rona Barretts such as Kim Jones and, later, Belissa Cohen. The Weekly's long-running astrology column, "Rocky Horoscope" by Rockie Gardiner, was a multilayered piece of scripture that traced the patterns and cycles of celestial bodies with an astronomical precision while being inlaid with cryptic riddles and pop-culture references that were richer, more detailed and, more often than not, uncannily accurate in mapping out readers' futures than generic horoscopes.
Throughout the '80s and into the early '90s, the Weekly was loaded with a diverse and motley assortment of distinctive columnists, staffers and freelance contributors such as Michael Ventura, Ginger Varney, Harlan Ellison and Steve Erickson. Early music editor Jonathan Gold eventually switched to covering restaurants — and not the stodgy, European-style "fine-dining" establishments that most other publications were focused on, as he ravenously tore through and explored this city's wide variety of cultures and street foods. Gold's replacement as music editor, former Bags guitarist Craig Lee, ushered in an era of wildly provocative, untamed writers such as Germs drummer Don Bolles, the incomparable punk stylist Shredder, the quietly subversive Felicia Dominguez and longtime staffer and prog-experimental connoisseur John Payne. Payne eventually was appointed music editor in the 1990s, following a series of more mainstream-minded editors who had often moved away from in-depth coverage of the paper's bread and butter and early raison d'etre, the local underground music scene. Under Lee and Payne, with input from associate music editor/unconventional jazz-metal critic Greg Burk, the Weekly's music coverage would evolve from fannish, punk-style writing to more in-depth, provocative, contemplative and/or insightful musings from such luminaries as Ernest Hardy, classical-music columnist Alan Rich and punk pioneer Brendan Mullen.
Both Lee and Payne recognized the rich variety of local music that was occurring across an increasingly wide variety of genres. Payne also revived L.A. Weekly's music awards for a short spell, after Lee started the annual series of popular award show/concerts in the late '80s.
During the Weekly's first decade, the newspaper was thoroughly unpredictable, with a sense of anarchy and frantic deadline excitement in the crowded, chaotic newsrooms in Silver Lake infusing the articles and columns with a freewheeling, jubilant, messy wildness. The atmosphere in the office was as eclectic as the content, with the likes of Ron Athey and Vaginal Davis (both renowned performance artists today), managing editor Kateri Butler, designers Bill Smith and John Curry, and music and art lovers in the production department, such as L7's Donita Sparks and The Mutts' Jacques Olivier.
After Levin stepped down from his multiple roles running the newspaper in 1992, the Weekly was sold and resold to a variety of sober-minded corporations including, at one point, a pet food company. The company expanded its copyediting and fact-checking departments, and the paper's prized news coverage headed in a more responsible and comprehensive journalistic direction in the following 20 years, with such dogged and persistent reporters, columnists and editors as Christine Pelisek, Patrick Range McDonald, David Zahniser, Gene Maddaus, Dennis Romero, Marc Cooper and Harold Meyerson breaking numerous important stories while confronting local, state and federal politicians with an unsentimental, unbiased and cynical perspective missing from other publications.
Much of the frenetic and boundary-pushing atmosphere of the old Weekly faded away under the various corporate owners, but newer writers in the '90s and beyond — such as incisive film editor Manohla Dargis, thoughtful film critic Ella Taylor, provocative columnist Erin Aubry Kaplan, witty staff writer Gendy Alimurung, fervent and tireless theater editor Steven Lee Morris, theater critics Lovell Estell III, Deborah Klugman and Bill Raden, and art mavens Peter Frank, Ralph Rugoff and Doug Harvey, among others — instilled a sense of higher, more intellectual standards while mixing their prose with unconventional imagery and revisionist views.
In the early '90s, Cohen's column became a celebratory yet skewering scenester chronicle everyone wanted to be in, while the Weekly's calendar section under Bell and the especially clever and irreverent writer Libby Molyneaux became the true bible of L.A., its extensive listings leaving little out in terms of things to do in Los Angeles. Pre-internet, L.A. Weekly's free print edition was in every record store, movie theater, cool retail shop and kiosk all over town, providing a guide to the city like no other, with special issues such as the Best of L.A., and issues dedicated to L.A. music, food and, later, the People issue (which grew out of the paper's "Considerable Town" offshoot column called "Considerable People"), experimenting designwise with multiple covers and glossy magazine stock versus its usual newsprint.
Having moved from its Silver Lake digs to the former Hollywood Reporter building on Sunset in the early '90s, the Weekly found its spiritual home in many ways. Mike Lacey's New Times Media took over the paper in 2002, in a complex deal with Village Voice Media (the parent company of L.A. Weekly until last year) that saw Jill Stewart replace news editor Alan Mittelstaedt. With editor-in-chief Laurie Ochoa at the helm along with associate editor Joe Donnelly, the Weekly went on to win more national journalism awards than any other alternative newspaper in the country (including a Pulitzer Prize for food writing for Ochoa's husband, Gold, in 2007).
By this time the influence of the web was undeniable, and more and more of the Weekly's content was migrating online, including popular pop culture–driven columns by Dave Shulman, Henry Rollins and Nikki Finke, whose "Deadline Hollywood" column became a watchdog for the entertainment industry. LAWeekly.com incorporated online slideshows and some video as well. In 2008, the Weekly's offices moved once again, this time to Culver City. VVM took the opportunity to issue budget cuts that saw many staffers ousted, including — despite the staff's successes — the top editors.
The most requested cover in L.A. Weekly history was the issue covering the death of Michael Jackson.
L.A. Weekly
Lacey had sold the Weekly to Voice Media Group in 2012 and the paper went through several personnel changes in the years that followed. But it always maintained a hard-working staff and a network of passionate freelancers, who continued to publish important stories reflecting the culture of Los Angeles with dedicated reverence, garnering many awards in the process. In 2017, VMG announced the sale of L.A. Weekly. It was purchased by Semanal Media in December of that year, with longtime art director Darrick Rainey named editor-in-chief and contributors who'd been working with the publication from several decades before joining the staff. The offices moved once again, in spring of this year, to the heart of downtown Los Angeles.
Through the country's most tragic and triumphant times, through the paper's own historical high points and low points, through acclaim and controversy, L.A. Weekly has endured, calling out injustices in social and political spheres, shining a spotlight on the city's creative culture, art and music, and bringing together a variety of voices and perspectives that reflect and embody our city and our world — male and female; cis and LGBTQ; Caucasian and people of color; young and old. Everyone who contributed in the past 40 years is part of this rich legacy. Here's to four more decades of doing so with the same expository vision, thoughtful approach and unfettered devotion.

9 Outdoor Shower Ideas and Accessories to Create the Ultimate Oasis
torwai/iStock
Outdoor showers are a hot home feature these days. This back-to-nature oasis is especially smart for those who live on the coast or near a lake, though it’s also handy for rinsing off a naughty dog or muddy tools after gardening.
Still though, is your outdoor shower as tricked out as it could be? Don’t just lather up and be done with it. Outdoor showers are an addition to your living space, so make the area special, beyond just a utilitarian faucet and shower head, urges Karen Gray-Plaisted of Design Solutions KGP.
For a little inspiration, here are nine accessories every outdoor shower needs to channel even more of a vacation vibe than ever.
1. A theme that mirrors its surroundings
As you think about your design, consider the surroundings.
“Go a little theme-oriented in your decor,” says Gray-Plaisted.
Seashells lined along the shower’s edge or walkway make sense if you live by the beach. You could also lean an oar or a surfboard nearby to channel your favorite water sports. Are you showering in the mountains? Look for rough-hewn wood accessories (like stools) as part of your decor.
2. A pretty pathway
Photo by Molie Malone Interior Design
Outdoor shower design starts with the approach, which includes pathway materials. Large slabs of slate with small rocks in between are an easy DIY idea. Or you can make two low walls along a walkway with rocks found on your property. An indoor-outdoor rug on the approach is also a smart option and may prevent slipping.
3. A sweet seat
A low bench or small stool makes bathing easier, whether you’re indoors or out. When you’re shopping, look for weather-resistant materials like cedar or teak, especially if this accessory is inside the enclosure and subject to direct spraying.
4. Hooks to hang on
You’ll need a place to toss your towel and hang up swimsuits, hats, and other clothing. Gray-Plaisted suggests decorative hooks or a bench that complements your shower style.
“Maybe even add a large basket or hamper to collect wet clothes and used towels,” she says. A bench that has a lower shelf is also smart for storing flip-flops and sandy beach toys.
5. Plenty of plants
Photo by Barker Kappelle Construction, LLC
For plantings here, note the amount of runoff from the shower and look for picks that’ll survive both heavy water use as well as dry periods.
Cassy Aoyagi, president of FormLA Landscaping, recommends fiber-optic grass, yerba mansa, Pacific aster, and seep monkey flower (bonus: Its yellow blooms attract hummingbirds).
“Or try western sword fern and tiger Lily—both can be potted and thrive in shade and with lots of moisture,” Aoyagi adds.
You can also pop a few container pots inside the stall; a bushy green fern or a small hibiscus tree adds a lush spa note. Or hang pots from hooks on the shower walls, like a blooming hanging basket or a small window box.
6. A mirror
A mirror makes sense in this space, as does a shower caddy or tray to corral shampoo, soaps, and a loofah. Indoor shower caddies can be hung outside, or you can install a weatherproof shelf to hold your bath supplies.
7. A little bit of eye candy
Don’t forget the “wow” factor in this outdoor space: A sunburst on the wall or a nearby birdhouse offers whimsy and design in one. Other fun ideas include a collection of colorful, lined-up rain boots, a birdbath, an old kiddie wagon loaded with potted herbs, or a weathered ladder (you can hang towels on it).
8. Music and/or beverages
Make your backyard shower ultradeluxe by wiring your sound system for outdoor use or setting up a small fridge nearby. Cold drinks and fun tunes drive home that this space is geared to help you relax.
9. A broom and dustpan
Alas, your outdoor shower isn’t going to clean itself. You should expect leaves and dirt to blow around inside the stall. To help keep it neat, stash a broom and dustpan nearby, in the garage or an outdoor shed, as well as a bottle of spray cleaner to shine fixtures. And to minimize sand and dirt piling up in the corners, arrange a shallow bin as a foot-rinsing station.

L.A. Weekly: A Look Back at 40 Years of Irreverence and Devotion to L.A.

You've probably never heard of the new Broadway musical Gettin' the Band Back Together. Beginning performances July 19 at the Belasco Theatre, the story of a recently fired fortysomething who...gets his band back together stars "actors you don't know" (excluding Taxi's Marilu Henner) and features "songs you've never heard."
Here, Henner and leading man Mitchell Jarvis tell us why you should see it anyway.
Featured in the cast are Kelli Barrett (Dani), Marilu Henner ("Mitch's Mom," a.k.a. Sharon Papadopolous), Mitchell Jarvis (Mitch Papadopolous), Jay Klaitz (Bart Vickers), Becca Kötte (Tawney), Garth Kravits (Ritchie), Tamika Lawrence (Roxanne Velasco), Manu Narayan (Dr. Rummesh "Robbie" Patel), Sawyer Nunes (Ricky "Bling" Goldstein), Noa Solorio (Billie), Paul Whitty (Michael "Sully" Sullivan), and Brandon Williams (Tygen Billows). The ensemble includes Ryan Duncan, J. Elaine Marcos, Rob Marnell, Jasmin Richardson, and Tad Wilson.
Directed by Tony winner John Rando, Gettin' the Band Back Together has music and lyrics by Mark Allen and a book by Ken Davenport and the Grundleshotz with additional material by Sarah Saltzberg. The creative team also includes Chris Bailey (choreography), Derek McLane (sets), Emily Rebholz (costumes), Ken Billington (lighting design), and John Shivers (sound design).
