A half hour later Mac & Riley make it back to his house, no one is in his driveway yet so he takes advantage and puts Riley’s overnight bag and backpack in his room and closes his door, she keeps her tablet with her and gets them some beers, Riley helps Mac set out some chips and pre sliced sandwiches they had grabbed real fast and they head to his back deck, he starts his firepit and wraps an arm around her shoulders. 

“I have never been this happy to be home and by a fire in a while Mac” she said, he gives her a soft kiss on her forehead and pulls her closer to him, Riley could stay in his arms forever, she’s safe here, she’s home.

“I know, Riles, thank you” he said, she slips from his grip and looks at him. 

“for what?” she asked. 

“for finally helping me see we can’t fight this anymore, I can look forward to a relationship without worrying if the other person will stop trusting me or threaten to kill me for some reason” he said, she smiles and gives him a kiss.

“you and me both” he said, she kisses him again and wraps herself back into his arms. Ten minutes later Mac & Riley hear voices and laughter in his kitchen, so they break apart and sit semi-close to each other but at at distance that won’t raise suspicion.  

“Mac, Riley, the party has arrived” Bozer said, they start laughing as he comes out dancing with a beer and plate of food in his hands. 

“Boze, easy, don’t spill the alcohol, after our day, we need it” Desi said trailing right after him. He put his beer and plate down and starts dancing around the fire pit. Desi tries to fight laughing but can’t. Mac gets his phone out and starts blasting music, he joins Bozer and Riley laughs at the two most important men in her life dance like idiots. Matty comes in laughing and sits next to Desi, Russ comes out and joins the boys. 

“I will pay everyone for the entertainment but please be careful and don’t get hurt” Matty said, they all stop and take their places back around the pit. The next few hours they spend cracking jokes about Russ’s crazy choice in swimwear on their op in Belize, he defended it as a top of the line pair of trunks and that they were in style. They laugh at Matty’s old story of an op gone wrong with Jack, he has only been gone eight months but each mention of his name, or a favorite joke of his is like a stab to the gut for Riley, she tries to hide it but Mac notices. 

“guys, I’m getting more beer, who needs a refill?” she asked, Bozer, Matty and Desi raise their hands. Riley gets up and uses her crutches to go back inside Mac’s house, she hears Mac say ‘I’ll help’ behind her. 

“Riles, wait, are you ok?” he asked taking some beers from his fridge. 

“I miss Jack Mac, it still hurts so much, I’m trying to laugh at his old stories but I can’t, it’s to painful to think about him” she said, she’s balancing on her crutches and Mac puts the beers down on his counter and takes her by the waist and gives her a big hug, she can’t hold the tears in any longer and starts crying on his shoulder. 

“I miss him a lot to Riley, I’m here for you, and so is everyone else, it takes time but you will get better with it” he said, she nods and looks at him, he wipes a tear from her face and gives her a kiss, they gather the beers and head back outside. Two hours go by, about three beers person, all the sandwiches and chips are eaten and finally Mac’s little family starts leaving, he waves goodbye at the front door and Riley’s on her crutches in the kitchen watching him walk over to her, god she’s in love. 

“alone finally” he said, she drops her crutches on the ground and wraps her arms around his neck and she gives him and hard and passionate kiss, she doesn’t even know when it happened but her feet left the ground, her legs are now wrapped around Mac’s back and he’s carrying her to his room. Riley starts laughing and flows fingers in his soft blonde hair, she kisses his cheek and Mac kisses hers, he finds her lips again and kisses her hard.

  She hears the door shut behind them and the next thing she knows, she’s sitting on a soft and bouncy surface, his bed. Riley lifts Mac’s shirt off and he tosses it to the side, she starts to unhook his jeans and he leans down and kisses her again, he lifts her shirt off and Riley slides back to his pillows, she takes her bra off, throws it at Mac, it hits him square in the face, he laughs and crawls his way on top of her. Mac starts kissing her neck and gives it little nibbles which sends jolts of electricity through her body, he kisses her breasts, then stomach and makes his way down her body, he slides her jeans and panties off, he is very careful around her sprained ankle. 

“god Riles, I want you so bad right now” he said, he finished taking his jeans and boxers off, and Riley starts breathing heavier, this work of art, amazing man is hers for real and nothing will get in their way. 

“come get me Mac” she said, he smiles and crawls on top, he kisses his way up to her and makes his entrance, even going this slow sends Riley over the top, she has to bite her lip so she doesn’t scream in Mac’s ear. She takes of fistful of his hair and kisses his cheek, he’s kissing her neck and shoulder then makes eye contact with Riley, she smiles, gives him a big kiss and nods, Mac smiles and picks up speed. Riley tries to control her body but holy damn, Mac’s amazing, there has to be something this man isn’t good at, sex sure isn’t one of them, he’s sending her butterflies over the edge. Riley makes a swift move, she shoves Mac with all of her strength on his back, he cracks up and she sits over his waist, they can’t stop smiling at each other and they can’t catch their breaths.

“Mac, I love you” she said, he smiles and leans up to kiss her. 

“I love you to Riles” he said, she smiles and shoves him back down on the bed, she gets back into position and rocks his world for another few minutes, then she collapses down at Mac’s side who within seconds wraps them in his bedsheet and is holding Riley tight. 

“let’s keep this a secret for a little while” he said, she looks back at him and smiles. 

“the sex is better this way right” she said. 

“without a doubt, we have to hold everything in until we are all alone” he said, she laughs. 

“deal” she said, Riley gives him a quick kiss and settles into his arms, settles into this moment that will never change, this feeling, their love for each other is here now, alive and they will never change it for the world.

favorite: desi culture really just takes in the idea of love and makes it their own like friendly love, maternal love, sibling love, romantic love - everything is celebrated in grandiose in it’s own special way and it’s really beautiful. there’s friendship day in india and they make a whole thing about giving each other bracelets, my dad has friends he’s known since kindergarten and they say shit like “we love each other sm you’d think we were all gay”. mothers are worshipped, and indian weddings make you believe in true love even if you never had before. also there’s so much respect given to all living things and there’s just something nice about taking off your shoes in your house or touching the feet of an elder to get their blessings idk it’s a really nice culture to be a part of. 

least favorite: women are still treated badly and it’s hard to even think about it. like they’re the ones being blamed when divorce happens (something that is literally forbidden) even if they were in an abusive relationship, they’re the ones being told to stay at home to do the cooking and cleaning, they’re the ones blamed if a baby girl is born instead of a baby boy. it’s difficult to think that such rigid ways of living still exist in some parts of the world but they do. societal progress in general in india is slow and takes a lot of time to shift and change into something more fitting with today’s generation, they’ve come far but it’s still not far enough. also the conservative way of life sucks. there’s a lot more but i don’t want to rain on my own desi loving parade lmao.
