Ground Rules
Derek is leaving town for three days. He has to lay down some rules for the pack. [AO3]
The pack were gathered in the sunken lounge room of the loft. Cora had claimed the only arm chair, sitting with her legs over one armrest. Erica, Lydia and Allison sat on the couch, Isaac sitting on the floor at their feet while Scott and Boyd stood, leaning against the back of the couch and talking quietly with the others. Stiles laid on the floor beside Cora’s armchair, his arms flailing as he talked.
“Alright, listen up,” Derek called out.
The pack straightened up and turned to their alpha, alert and attentive. Stiles stayed prone, but his arms stilled and fell to his sides, the only sign he was listening.
“I’m going to be out of town for three days,” Derek announced. “So, let’s go over the ground rules.”
There was a collective groan of protest from the group.
“If you didn’t break them, I wouldn’t have to repeat them every time.”
The room fell quiet as the pack reluctantly listened.
“No adding to the population, no subtracting from the population,” Derek said, shooting a glare at his sister to drive home his point. “Do not end up in the hospital, newspapers or jail. If you do end up in jail—”
“Assert dominance,” the pack said simultaneously.
“What? No!” Derek objected, his eyes wide with shock and horror.
The pack were quiet for a moment.
“You call me and I will send the money to bail you out,” Derek told them. He closed his eyes, letting out a heavy sigh before adding, “And don’t use your one phone call to order pizza.”
“Who would do that?” Boyd asked, his brow furrowed in confusion.
Hands shot up around the room.
“My dad’s the sheriff, he knows who to call to get us out of trouble,” Stiles argued. “Meanwhile, I was hungry.”
“And don’t even think about trying to repeat what you did last time,” Derek said through gritted teeth, shooting a fierce glare at Erica and Stiles—or at least at where Stiles laid on the floor—knowing it was their idea.
Isaac looked puzzled. “What happened last time?”
“We had a competition to see who could break the most rules the fastest,” Erica explained.
“It was stupid,” Boyd said. At the same time, Cora asked, “Who won?”
Stiles’ hand shot up as he very proudly declared, “I did!”
“That’s not something to be proud of,” Derek said, exasperated.
Derek let out a heavy sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Please, just this once, can you follow the rules?”
The pack mumbled in agreement.
“Thank you,” Derek sighed with relief, although there was a part of him that didn’t believe them. He threw the strap of his duffle bag over his shoulder. “I’ll see you in three days.”

Thinking about Stiles and tattoos though; Stiles, getting a triskelion tattoo. Since he's the human who runs with wolves and he knows he doesn't feel the pack bond the way the wolves do, but he wants to make it undeniably clear where his alliance lies, that he is part of the Hale Pack.
Derek is just fully losing his mind about it, the first time Stiles proudly shows the tattoo to the pack. He knows it's to show Stiles is part of the pack, but Derek's wolf is just growling possessively because Stiles is his.

Peter's Vows
When Derek is born, there is an earthquake. Beacon Hills is many things, but it is not a place of earthquakes. This is an anomaly, this sudden shaking of the land, and Peter watches Talia go through the pain of birthing a cub, and he makes note of how her cries resonate with the moving earth. As the baby is brought to the world of the living, the earth shakes more; giddy, Peter thinks of the land. Giddy at this baby's birth. That's what it is.
The town reels with the destruction, however minimal it seems to be. It is the strangeness of the earthquake that has the people in a panic, and it takes two days of Mayor Yukimura calling for council meetings and community barbecues that they begin to somehwat calm down.
The baby is named Derek on the first day itself, born underneath the Nemeton, his pale blue eyes reflecting the moonlight in silver hues. Talia sobs with relief, Nathan beside her, stroking her hair. Laura is back at the pack house, safely tucked in the bed, the rest of the pack members keeping watch. Talia had wanted to bring her with them, fearing the worst of the anomaly, but their mom had convinced her to not do it. The birth of the Alpha's cub is a big deal, but it is also private: only the Mate, Emissary and Left Hand are allowed to be present, for comfort, safety, and protection, respectively.
It has been tradition since ages, and Talia is the last person to break it.
Derek is a calm baby. Sleeps through the night, doesn't cry for attention. Only does it for feeding, his survival instinct as strong as his lungs. Peter adores him, even if he may never admit it to anyone.
He is also curious about the boy. Why an earthquake? It cannot be a coincidence. Truly, he wonders how some people can be so dumb. Calling it a coincidence is insulting to the Powers That Be, which must have called upon such a natural reaction of the land for a reason. Derek is a special boy, and Peter vows to find out how.
Besides his incredibly compassionate heart, that is.
It is in his eyes, which have slowly turned into a kaleidoscope of colors, the kindness of him. Derek's trust is not so easily earned, but once it is, it is extremely difficult to dislodge it.
Derek is a boy destined to become a kind man, one that will be an Alpha with mercy in his heart but cunning in his mind. Peter sees the makings of it right from the beginning, the way the boy will procure solutions to his own problems as well as those he deems important to him. Laura is the first born and thus has the claim to being the next Hale Alpha, however Peter knows, somehow, perhaps instinctually, that Derek will be the Alpha.
Another piece of the puzzle falls in place when their emissary falls pregnant. She's an amazing woman, Claudia. Peter likes her wit and humor, and he enjoys the perspective of her husband, the deputy, and if luck is on his side, soon-to-be Sheriff of Beacon Hills. Peter is happy for the couple.
He is, also, astonished to see an almost five-year-old Derek climb onto Claudia's lap one morning, his small fists rubbing against his eyes, and his nose scrunching determinedly to find a scent.
Peter remembers the conversation well.
"Derek, honey? What are you trying to find?"
"Mine," is what Derek growls in reply to Claudia, and shoves his nose against her barely-showing belly.
Peter's laughing figure is shot out of the end of the couch and onto the floor by Claudia's impeccable throw of one of the decorative pillows from said couch.
Thereafter, it was peculiar but not unseemly to find Derek following beside Claudia, his whole little being focused on the life forming inside her. And when the night came, Peter wasn't at all surprised to witness the thunderstorm.
Claudia had plans of giving birth in the hospital, but due to miscalculated steps, or simply because of reasons not privy to them, the best possible option left for her seemed to be below the Nemeton.
John had lost his damn mind at the prospect. "It's raining! Heavily!"
"Talia gave birth in an earthquake," Claudia says through gritted teeth, "And the baby doesn't care, nor do I, John. It is—"
Her words are cut off by another scream, and she is right, of course. It is time.
Talia, John, and Peter are the only ones who should go with her, but Derek, the little sneaky wolf that he seems to have become, follows them. It isn't until halfway through that John, the human, realizes his presence first.
They move forward with the determined little boy, who is all sopping wet in his wolf onesie, and really, this is no laughing matter. Except it is.
Claudia is brought below the Nemeton, and the tree, big and branching and beautiful, hums in their presence. The canopy of it sheds them some, but not completely.
And so, under hard rain and sharp thunderstorms, Mieczysław Stilinski is born, his little body almost white under the moonlight, and his eyes, when they open, a shock of topaz, like a glinting jewel; a fallen angel, Peter thinks.
Derek carefully wraps the baby in the blanket Talia removes from the packed bag, her movements locked onto her son's and the baby's, while John tends to his wife.
Peter watches. He notes the way the baby is calmest in Derek's arms, the way Derek is mesmerized.
This is more than just being True Mates.
True Mates itself are the rarest of occurrences, but something tells him this is more than that. The earthquake, and this sudden rain, in April of all things, simply cannot be coincidence. There must be a reason, one that Peter must uncover.
In the coming years, he dedicates his time to the quest, and finds that, oh, this is something unique indeed.
Unique to the point of legend.
Of course, he gathers facts before telling anyone. Derek's control goes onto the list, as does his ability to switch between his shift as easy as breathing. Having such control at the age of seven is almost impossible, but he has it without the growing ego that would have inflated anyone else's with the amount of praise he gets.
Stiles, as Derek had nicknamed Mieczysław almost immediately post his arrival in the world, is no human. His mother's line has some pretty strong magical abilities, but the kind of power that this boy exudes surpasses imagination. Nobody notices at first, not even Peter, until Stiles is a couple of months past his third birthday. It truly isn't until Derek, almost nine, comes down from his room one day into the kitchen, says, "Which packet, Stiles?" that they realize it.
"Honey, he isn't a wolf. He cannot hear you," Nathan tells him, but Derek just shrugs.
"He is for today."
Peter hears the, "Blue one! Blue one! Blue is sooo pretty, Derek!" from Stiles, who is definitely sitting in Derek's room, upstairs.
Derek grabs the blue packet and goes upstairs, and Peter follows, followed by Talia and Nathan, who beckon Claudia as well.
Stiles sitting on the floor, a myriad of toys around him, while the packets of chips sit beside him, torn open, evidently by Derek's claws, who himself is playing with Stiles.
And they're both being fed flying chips.
The three wolves turn to Claudia as one. Her shaking head and awed face is enough to clue them in, and really, Peter thinks, this is fucking incredible.
Powers don't manifest as early as this in magic wielders. They're more of the puberty package, tied to emotions at the beginning rather than will.
This is... defying it.
Peter loves to see when the next piece of the puzzle will fall.
And it does oh so enticingly.
Years later, when Derek is fourteen and Stiles is almost nine, comes the first trial. The Alpha Summit & The Argent Treaty.
Peter doesn't believe Gerard's words to do no harm, so he sets up precautions in place. It pays off, because during the summit, he almost ends up blinding Deaucalion — something that could have turned super bad if left unchecked.
Gerard's attack is met with swift retaliation, but somehow, only his goons end up dead. Gerard himself remains free, and through sheer will, maybe, the old man manages to kidnap Laura.
By the time the adults sniff out their cub, they're too late.
Not in the sense of Laura being hurt, but in the terms of missing the action, somewhat.
When they enter the warehouse, they are faced with Gerard being held down by a black wolf, fangs around his neck, the eyes of the creature a deep, ruby red. Deeper than Talia's. At first, they all assume it to be one of the visiting Alphas, but then they realize Stiles' presence, too, and it clicks.
Stiles frees Laura from the painful looking electric rod, and comes back to Derek, coaxes him back to his human form as Peter and Nathan take care of the psychopath.
Laura lets Talia mother her, and then says, "We'll have two Alphas."
Talia looks at the now human Derek, and eyes shining with pride, she nods. "Come here, both of you," she beckons, and the boys run, Stiles' chattering a comforting sound for all of them.
A few weeks later, Derek admits to everyone he has a new friend, and talks about her often. Paige this, Paige that. Laura teases him, restrained in her words, trying not to upset Derek's control. Even Cora pulls back. Stiles, though, is almost worse.
He riles Derek to the point of him using his Alpha voice to shut up, and the whole Pack silences itself, even Talia. Stiles, though — an exception to all things sane — doesn't back down. The voice doesn't work on him, and Derek isn't phased by it. However, the smell of guilt filters through their home, and Stiles' sigh is followed by comforting words. There is no apologizing though.
Soon, they'll learn from Derek himself that he hates that everyone is walking on eggshells. That is why he kept bringing up Paige, so that someone would tease him, uncle Peter, Laura, Cora. Or that Stiles would rile him up.
"Why would he, though? He should be happy for you. I am." Cora's words are met with a laugh from Derek, and a groan of embarrassement from Stiles.
"He's weirdly possessive — don't push me, you know you are."
"Alright," Stiles sighs, "I am."
"And Paige is a great friend, but I don't nearly think about her as much as I might have let you all believe."
And that is when Peter sees it. The blink-and-you-will-miss-it purple flash of Stiles' eyes. Peter doesn't put thought into why now; he simply focuses on completing the puzzle.
And he does. True Alpha and Purple Eyes? That's easy.
That's legend.
Set in stone as the first Alpha and the first Emissary as well as Spark, who, arguably, also set in stone the sword of Excalibur.
That part of the legend has questionable sources, though. Sure, Merlin Emrys is, as per theories, the most powerful sorcerer of all time, and Arthur Pendragon the greatest ruler, the once and future king, but it doesn't have as much merit.
What Peter is sure about is that somehow, the Powers That Be decided that this is the pack to send these two to.
He watches Stiles argue about the best type of pasta with Derek, and thinks, suddenly, that perhaps this is their happy ending. What legends end happy? None. So this must be their time to be happy.
Peter vows another quest, then. To always protect Derek and Stiles.

He freezes. Doesn't know what the hell else to do.
He can't picture it: Derek can't remember the last time somebody put their arms around him.
Was it Laura?
Of course it was Laura. How could he forget that? Derek has gotten pretty good at blocking things out—a little too good, it seems.
She didn't tell him anything before leaving New York. Didn't say a fucking word, just up and vanished. Derek had woken up one morning and she was gone, because she'd known without a shadow of a doubt that Derek would've only followed her if she'd have said a single word to him.
Nobody ever granted Derek’s wishes, no matter who he prayed to. Those desperate pleas where he asked to go back and get a chance to fix things, they all went unheard.
Laura left to go back to the place they both wished still existed just as it had; a place they were wanted alive, not dead. It wasn't fair that it was the very same place they would be hunted down if they did return, like the rabid animals the Argent's presumed they were.
Leaving the way they did meant they hadn't gotten the chance to see if anything was left at the house. They couldn't even mark graves, and grieve properly.
That same place also happened to be the place they'd been born, the place they'd grown up and called home.
Derek had never wanted Laura to face all of that alone.
The burnt down house. The nothing where there was once everything.
The thought still haunts him. One of so many.
Beacon Hills is home—but it's the home Derek had helped raze to the ground with his selfishness and stupidity. Everything he and Laura had ever known, everyone they'd ever loved, it was all gone, now. Derek had taken those things away from his sister and hadn't even had the guts to tell her. Tell Laura they were all gone because of him, tell her that everything that had happened to their family, to them, was all his fault.
In the aftermath of the fire Laura hugged Derek, and had kept hugging him, over and over in those weeks and months and years that followed. She would pull him into her arms hold him tight, whenever she could sense it was all getting to be too much for him again.
Alpha.
Big sister.
But Laura only knew about some of the reasons why it sometimes felt like too much effort for Derek to keep on breathing.
He never told her about Kate.
And Derek, the fucking coward, he'd allowed Laura to hold him, feeling the flames of shame on his cheeks every time, hot as those that took the lives of his parents. His family. His pack.
Now, he remembers that last time.
“I'm going out.”
Laura stood up, walked around the two mismatched armchairs and stopped him by throwing both her arms around his neck, pulling him into her and hugging him, scenting him.
It always took him a moment to respond these days, but Derek hugged her back.
“What's this for?”
“You. Because I know whomever's bed you end up in tonight, you won't be asking for one of these.”
Oh, fuck no. Derek couldn't handle that. Did she think he was out sleeping with people? Never again, not after…
He pushed his sister off him, gently; a stark contrast to the harsh words that followed.
“Don't fucking coddle me. And fuck you, Laura—I don't sleep in anybody's bed but my own.” A single mattress on the floor of the lounge of their shitty one bedroom apartment. Derek had so many shameful memories, and crawling into his sister's bed every night for the first year after the fire was one of them. “Just—leave me alone.”
Laura was the one—the only—person Derek had left in the entire world, yet his guilt was constantly pushing her away.
“Where do you go to, little brother? You might not be clinging to me anymore, night after night, nightmare after nightmare, but you're rarely in your own bed most mornings.”
She hadn't meant it as a dig. Derek knew that. She was his sister, and she loved him.
Maybe she thought he was making progress? Seeing people. Moving on.
Derek spent his nights waiting outside of dive bars, and hanging around in back alleys and dark places, desperate to find scumbags to taunt who were big enough and hard enough to at least attempt to kick the living shit out of him.
Derek hated being a werewolf, now. He wanted to get hurt and stay hurt.
“Just—out.”
Then Derek turned his back on Laura, leaving her to stand there and watch him walk away as he left her to go out looking for a fight, without looking back.
That was the last time somebody put their arms around Derek—and the last time he saw his sister alive.
It was two years ago. Derek doesn’t think he has taken a full breath, since.
Now here he is—standing in his stupid big loft that he bought for his betas, yet another pack he managed to destroy—having given away more than he should, with skinny yet strong arms wrapping as far around his shoulders as they'll reach.
Stiles.
“You don't have to hug back. But you can, if you want to. I won't tell,” the kid jokes. It's his way to connect, his connection to the world. A coping mechanism, Derek thinks.
He knows all about those.
“I…” he doesn't have the first fucking clue of how to handle this. Or how to admit he needs it—to himself, let alone somebody else. He doesn't know how to admit that he wants it.
But this is Stiles. The one person in Derek's life who seems, for some unfathomable reason, to give a fuck about Derek. To care about him.
Slowly, very slowly, Derek lifts an arm and awkwardly rests a hand on Stiles's upper back, feels the muscles jump slightly under the kid's baggy clothes as he tentatively spreads his fingers and finds the back of Stiles's neck.
Stiles's voice hitches just a touch as he says, “These can be on tap, you know. If you want them. Stilinski hugs are the best hugs, dude. Believe.”
And Derek finds he does believe. For the first time in forever, Derek believes there could be something good in his life again.
More confidently, now, he brings his other arm up to wrap around Stiles's waist and hugs Stiles tighter, properly, and allows himself to be hugged back.
Derek wonders how he has gone so long without this kind of closeness. Lived without this kindness.
He decides to let the 'dude' pass. Because maybe—maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all, to be somebody's dude?
Stiles's dude.
It's a fucking ridiculous moniker and yet Derek suddenly couldn't care less.
“I think I'd like that,” he whispers into the forbidden place where Stiles's jaw meets long, pale neck. "Dude."
Derek can feel Stiles's smile as the kid squeezes him harder. And, ironically, Derek feels as if he can breathe again.
.

We Weren't Together
Warning: Pack Mom Stiles(mostly Off screen), Derek is the Alpha, Everyone is Alive, Derek is Jelly, Mild Angst, Misunderstandings, Significant Background Character, Lydia is the best Meddler, Happy Ending Summary: Derek and Stiles are not a couple. Simple as that. Not really sure where I was going with this one. It might be total shit. Womp Womp. NOT PROOFREAD
≫ ────── ≪•◦ ❈ ◦•≫ ────── ≪
"Cheater!"
"I didn't cheat!"
"You so did! How else would you have all that money when you own two properties!" Erica flung a shoe. All Stiles could do was laugh until his ribs ached.
"Okay," Lydia sighed setting her cards down and backing from the coffee table to lean against the arm of the couch. Allison looked on unimpressed, but only because she knew Stiles cheated.
"Oh come on," Scott groaned. "This is why I never play Monopoly."
"Who's Idea was this?" Isaac threw his cards down and looked around, a scowl due for the culprit.
"Yours." Lydia supplied with an unimpressed expression and a tilt of the head.
Derek sat back with a privet smile. It had been a while since he had gotten to work bringing the old Hale house back to a livable condition. And once the majority of it was done, the pack, without being asked, began coming over every Saturday to spend time all together. He'd see individuals pop in throughout the week, but he loved when they'd all be here together.
"No," Isaac defended. "I said we have, Clue, Uno, Scategories, and Monopoly. I never said I wanted to play this one."
"The way you said 'and Monopoly', made it sound like you did." Stiles offered with a look in his eye Derek couldn't place. "And who could say no to that adorable ridiculous scarf." He teased with kissy lips and a pinch to Isaac's cheek. Isaac swatted his hand away but his cheeks went red.
"If nobody wants to play I'd rather not waste my time." Boyd piped up, the first thing he's said since he reluctantly agreed to play this.
"Okay, we wanna do a different game or a movie?" Stiles offered starting to clean up the pieces into the box.
"Movie!" Erica cheered. "Who's turn is it to pick?"
Derek, who was already up and walking into the kitchen, stopped and checked the calendar on the wall. It was a calendar bought from the vet clinic with different dogs for every month, posing in costumes related to that month's holiday. You can guess who bought it.
Thinking of a name that rhymes with Biles Bilinski.
Who took the commitment to go through the calendar and alternate the pack's names on every Saturday, to mark their turn to choose. Since nobody could ever agree.
"Erica." Derek grinned with his back to the living room while Erica and Lydia cheered, while most of the boys groaned. Whenever it was either of them, they teamed up to find a movie literally only girls would like- according to Jackson. They've been made to watch The Notebook five times, The Princess Bride three times, and 10 Things I Hate About You four times.
Derek leaving the girls behind to settle on what to torture the boys with, he pulled bowls from the cabanit and a pot. Oiling the bottom of the pot, pour in corn kernels to coat the bottom. He covered the pot and let it heat up, turning to get butter from the fridge. But a hand was already on the fridge pulling it open.
Stiles always had a smile on his face when he was at the house, just as happy to be here with everyone as Derek was. Derek watched as Stiles took out the butter opened two sticks into a bowl from the dish rack and plopped it in the microwave. While the corn began popping Stiles and Derek danced around each other in the kitchen, working in perfect synchronicity to stock the large tray with canned drinks, bottles of water, and other various snacks.
Derek eyes all the sugary garbage on the try without making a sound. He had a sweet tooth sure, but he preferred actual baked goods, not the overly processed Debbie cakes and Oreo cookies they kept in the snack cabinet. Just as he was about to settle for just popcorn and water Stiles's hand came into view as he wordlessly put a bag of homemade cookies on the tray. Sharpie scrawled out 'sourwolf' with a smiley face on it.
Derek said nothing, watching Stiles turn and ready the three big bowls for the popcorn to be sorted into. Things like this made Derek feel like a very lucky man. Stiles never even thought about it, just did things like this. Not only for Derek but for the rest of the pack as well. Always taking one extra step to make sure everyone was happy.
Derek knew when Stiles was overthinking things; his nose would scrunch up, sometimes just the slightest bit, and he'd fidget a little more than usual. Derek knew what Stiles had to think before he did something, he never stopped to think about this stuff.
Stiles was a good friend, and Derek was happy he was pack.
After getting the popcorn buttered and evenly distributed they scooped everything up and brought it to the living room. Everyone was finding their seats on the two couches and the armchair, with a movie called Clueless qued up on Netflix.
Derek set the tray down, grabbed a water bottle and his cookies, and found his stop on the end of the couch he always takes. Stiles passed out the bowls of popcorn and settled in. Derek had gotten distracted watching Scott and Isaac fuss over who gets the last can of coke. He snorted dryly and turned to look at Stiles, who always and something to say about their childlike bickering.
Except when he turned to his left, it was the body that sat next to him. Boyd wasn't even paying attention to him. Huh, odd.
Derek looked over to the other couch where Stiles was squished in between Lydia and Erica who were explaining all the reasons Stiles was gonna love this movie. Stiles was smiling at the girls and chuckling, amused at how excited Erica was.
He was confused for a moment about why he assumed it would be Stiles sitting next to him. It didn't matter though, Stiles can sit anywhere, it's not like it matters.
He thought about it while everyone quieted down and the movie started.
Derek thought about all the previous times they settled in for movie night, and from what Derek recalled, Stiles sat by him every time. Derek thought about it for a moment and found himself amused.
If he told Stiles about it he knew what Stiles would say. Something about Pavlov, and Derek subconsciously thinking Stiles would always be next to him when they watched a movie because up until now he was.
But it didn't really matter where anyone sat, Derek convinced himself. He is just as happy sitting next to Boyd as he would be next to Stiles, or anyone else for that matter.
But as the movie went on, and Erica and Lydia both started leaning more onto Stiles, laughing at the funny parts and basically snuggling together, Derek decided he didn't like it.
Something in him became unsettled when by the second half of the movie Stiles started dozing off like he did almost every movie night, his head laying on Lydia's shoulder.
If Stiles were sitting over here, his head would fall onto Derek's shoulder like it always did. Stiles would wake up after the movie was over, everyone going home, and say something along the lines of 'good flick'. To which Derek would tease him for sleeping through most of it and use the drool on his shirt as evidence.
Derek didn't have a word to describe the feeling, didn't have the slightest clue as to what caused it, because it really didn't matter. The pack is pack, he was happy to see Stiles and everyone getting along so well, being so close, but it still bugged him.
After the movie was over, everyone did their share of cleaning up, said goodnight, and was out the door. Erica and Boyd being the last to go, as soon as the door was closed and locked, Derek sighed and his smile fell. This pit in his stomach only twisted more, when Stiles only gave him a one-word goodbye and offered Lydia a ride him.
"So," Isaac awkwardly swayed a little as Derek entered the kitchen. "Are you and Stiles fighting?"
"What?" Derek paused his stride through the room to stare at him.
"Well, tonight you guys," He studdered for a bit, the awkwardness he was feeling just asking very prevalent on his face. "Seemed off tonight. I don't know."
"No," Derek shook his head. "We're fine."
"Okay," Isaac clearly didn't believe him and bound up the stairs to his room.
Derek stood there for a moment and shook it off. He stuffed the feeling down like he did with almost anything unpleasant and went to bed.
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
It was 11:43 pm. It was slightly rainy and cold out. Stars and the moon shone over the preserve, eliminating the front yard.
Derek stood in the kitchen leaning against the counter, watching out the window at the driveway. Sparing a glance at the clock every few minutes.
Isaac was late. Super late. Not answering his phone, not sending a single text.
He was about to give up waiting for something, anything when a familiar jeep rolled up the long dirt road and onto the gravel driveway.
"Man," He heard Isaac's faint voice from outside. "He's still up. I'm in deep shit."
Isaac followed with dragging feet as a very amused Stiles him and Scott up the front steps.
When they entered they kicked off their shoes and joined a very disappointed-looking Derek. He stood tall with his arms crossed over his chest. The three gathered in front of him awaiting hell to rain down, except Derek didn't fail to notice the subtle grin on Stile's face.
"You're late."
"Sorry, we lost track of time." Isaac pouted like a picked puppy.
"You have a phone."
"It died." He shrugged.
"Neither of you have phones?" Derek glared at the other two.
The three looked between themselves and gave each other the "why didn't we think of that" look.
Derek sighed pitifully, "If I ask you to be home by a reasonable hour I don't think that's too much to ask. Full moons right around the corner and-" He groaned pinching the bridge of his nose. "Don't worry me like this again, " He waved the topic away.
Issac nodded shamefully and muttered an apology. The fear of being reprimanded stayed firm in his eyes and stiff body. It almost made Derek feel guilty for being upset in the first place, but he knew he had every right to worry.
"It's fine." Derek shook his head. "I just need to know where you are or at least be able to get in touch with you if something happens. I was worried Isaac, I'm not mad."
Isaac nodded, taking a breath and relaxing his shoulders.
"How was the party?" Derek didn't care really, he just wanted Isaac to feel comfortable.
"Fun, the whole team was there. We got bored when everyone else was too drunk to even talk to so we bailed and got some food and Mami's Diner." Scott smiles recalling the evening.
"Yeah, parties aren't as fun when you can't get tipsy with everyone else."
"Too bad for you guys." Stiles sighed with a goofy grin. They all took their spots at the breakfast bar.
"You didn't drink a drop tonight though." Isaac pointed out.
"And trust one of you to drive my baby?" Stiles accused as if the two were actively planning a first-degree murder in front of him. They all merely chuckled at his dramatics and moved on from that.
"Derek," Scott started with a grimace. "Can I stay the night? Moms working a double and I don't wanna wake her getting home this late."
Derek shrugged, indifferent. He'd gotten the guestrooms ready from the rest of the back. Hell, any of them could show up wanting to spend the night, with no excuse or reason, and he'd be happy to have them. It's why the rooms are there.
"Me too!" Stiles piped up. "I have no reason, just too lazy to drive I guess."
Derek chuckled a little and welcomed them both to a guest room of their choosing.
Isaac excused himself to the bathroom to shower, as Derek led Scott and Stiles up the stairs. He showed off the finished rooms and let them pick and choose. Stiles picked the one next to his room, claiming dibs because the other room had a draft.
"How much work left is there?" Stiles asked mindlessly looking down the hall at the section of the house still covered in plastic to protect the new wood flooring. Tools, wood varnishes, and cans of paint sat out in the hall.
Derek motioned him down the hall as Scott, uninterested, entered the room on the other end and settled in for bed.
Stiles followed Derek into an unfinished bedroom and took a look around. Derek flicked on the lights he'd just wired and put in the other day. The drywall was fresh and the whole room was covered in plastic, tape guarding the fixings and crown molding. The room was nearly ready to be painted and furnished.
"Just need to fix the wiring to the other room, mount the shelving, and this window," Derek strolled over and giggled the latch. "Needs to be fixed or replaced at some point. It won't open."
Stiles nodded looking around and smiling to himself.
"Other than that, it's just fixing up the back porch and the half-bath downstairs." He turned to look at Stiles. "What?"
"Nothing," Stiles shrugged, smile never fading. "I'm just happy."
"About what?" Derek asked curiously approaching Stiles like he was about to get a pie in the face.
"I don't know. Just in a good mood tonight, I guess."
When Derek was close enough he stopped, twisting his head and pouting at a smell invading his nose. Stiles almost made a kicked puppy joke until he saw that something was defiantly bothering Derek.
"What is it?"
"You smell weird."
"Well, I was just at a party with about sixty or seventy drunk teenagers, so."
"No, it's," Derek stepped closer slowly, leaning in just enough into Stiles's personal space to not make him uncomfortable but close enough to get a good whiff of the insulting aroma. "You smell like-" Derek stopped and his face dropped a little, leaning back and eyeing a very confused Stiles.
"Never mind." He shook his head and turned the lights off as he walked out. "Goodnight, Stiles." He left Stiles standing there completely bewildered.
Derek locked himself up in his room and changed into sweats before climbing into bed. All with a deep frown dragging his features down.
Stiles smelled like arousal. Like sex. But it clearly wasn't Stiles's scent.
Stiles smelled like someone else's arousal.
Derek racked his barian all night who that prick could've been. Why was that prick all riled up and close enough to rub his lasting odor on him? Was Stiles dancing with someone at the party? Did Stiles make out with someone at the party?
At that question, his mind supplied him the images of Stiles bumping and grinding with some random dude, hands on Stiles's hips, moving and swaying with him. The creep Kissing up on Stiles's neck and lips and offering to go somewhere private.
Derek turned onto his side and shoved his head in under the pillow, hiding from the thoughts as he let himself be taken by sleep.
But that night all he dreamed about was chasing some faceless vermin through the woods; hunting him like he was nothing more than a feral wild wolf, despite still being completely human in the dream.
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
Danger came to Beacon Hills in the shape of Faeries.
Tiny winged spirits with a knack for trickery and mayhem. Derek wasn't sure how they ended up in Beacon Hills if they've just been migrating this way, or if someone let them loose. But people were getting hurt by their 'pranks' so they had to put a stop to it.
Tricking Faries was not an easy job in the slightest. But they managed it after a long night of chasing and fighting, finally trapping the three in silver cages and handing them over to Deaton; who swore he knew how to handle them and remove them from Beacon Hills safely.
The pack headed separate ways and most of them followed Derek back to the house. They arrived home just as the sun began to come up. Derek, still too anxious and worked up to sleep, went straight to work on the downstairs bathroom. He began preparing the grout to lay the tiles in place on the floor.
As he was checking the leveling of the pitch, he heard Stiles, "Need some help."
"Not really," Derek shrugged. It was a small bathroom, only enough room for one person to stand comfortably in between the sink and the toilet. Stiles sighed and started backing away.
Derek frowned and shook his head, not meaning to have come across as cold as he did.
"Actually, you can pass me tiles?" He offered, trying to brighten his tone. Stiles was plopped down just outside the doorway in a second. He smiled v\softly, almost unnoticeable, if it hadn't been for the fact that Derek noticed every detail about Stiles.
"You all grumpy with me for not staying behind like you said?"
"I'm not grumpy." He defended. Stiles gave him a look. "Yes." He sighed as if he was admitting to something as embarrassing as wetting the bed until you're fifteen.
Stiles chuckled, watching him work.
"You're not the only one that worries about everyone you know." Derek spared him a loot while reaching for a tile. "I know I'm human, der. You don't have to remind me that I don't heal, and I'm in more danger than most of you, but I still get this feeling that if I'm not there-"
Derek paused what he was doing to sit back and give Stiles his attention. Stiles started at him for a bit before continuing.
"I want to be there to look after you guys too. We've had close calls before, and nearly lost people. If I cared any less I'd listen to you when you tell me to stay back and out of the way, but I just have thing feeling that I need to be there in case something happens."
Derek gave him a sad smile. "And what if that something happens to you?"
Stiles frowned and lowered his head, shrugging. "If I can help, there's not really anything you can do to stop me from trying."
"Yeah," Derek nodded. "So I've learned."
Stiles chuckled and handed Derek another tile, smiling at him as he took the subtle hint the conversation had ended and turned back to laying the tiles in place. Stiles watched him intently, adoring the alpha.
"You got any plans tonight?" Stiles sighed when he was bored of the quiet.
"Back porch is fixed up, might get someone to help me put together the table, and cheers I ordered. Maybe fire up the grill?"
"That sounds fun." Stiles nodded, a look on his face like he was considering his options.
"You got a better idea?" Derek teased, because Stiles always had something to say about the activities Derek came up with.
"No, I just," He paused and thought to himself a moment. "I met this dude at the party the other night, and he texted me earlier asking if I'd be down to meet up later tonight."
Derek's heart sank a little. Oh, that prick.
"Oh," Derek nodded. He didn't wanna ask questions, he didn't wanna know. So Stiles just nodded.
"If it doesn't take too long I'll swing by after." Stiles delivered the empty promise with a grin. "Save some food for me."
Derek only nodded.
Stiles never showed.
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
Derek was in a bad mood.
Everyone in the house felt it and kept to their best behavior.
He didn't scowl or glare, he didn't yell or stomp around, he just kept his head down and mouth shut.
It was a Thursday night, and his betas had come over after the Lacross game like they always did. Boyd having joined the team, came along with the other players plus Erica, after every game. Although Jackson never showed, he only made an appearance when Lydia did.
Except tonight was different. Stiles hadn't come.
Apparently, Stiles was invited by the guy he met at the party to hang out after the game. A date.
He got all this from Erica who told him with a look of pity and confusion etched into her feature. Derek said nothing, just nodded, and went on making dinner for those who did show.
After eating they settled into the living room and watched a movie Derek wasn't paying attention to. He'd been on autopilot half the night, stuck in his head wondering about where Stiles was and what he was up to.
He didn't understand why he felt sick in his gut that Stiles was out with someone else.
It just made him feel dizzy with something he didn't have a word for. Every time he pictured Stiles laughing at the guy jokes, playing footsy under the table, holding hands on the walk back to the car, kissing on his front step- his chest tightened painfully.
He knew what this disgusting feeling was now, and he felt pathetic for it.
Derek stood and without a word went up to his room and crawled into bed.
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
Summer break had officially arrived and Derek was having the boys help him set up the pools in the back yard.
He hadn't seen Stiles in the past few days and it's been both wonderful and absolute agony. He was grateful to have a break from seeing Stiles's smile and shining eyes, hating knowing it was never for him. But he missed it all the same.
Either way, the space between them allowed Derek the room he needed to rebuild his walls. If Stiles was dating this other guy fine, Derek hadn't had a chance anyway. He'd very his heart and settle for just being pack.
The girls sat on the front steps far enough away from the guys on the other side to not hear their conversation. Even with super wolfy hearing.
"So, what happened?" Allison eyed the two who clearly knew more than she did. Both of them are closer to Stiles and Derek, respectively. "I was under the assumption they'd be giving us invitations to the wedding by graduation."
Erica chuckled sadly, "I don't know. But you should've seen Derek when I told him Stiles ditched us to go hang out with Markus."
"I don't know what's gotten into Stiles," Lydia grumbled, she hated being left out of the loop. "Just last month I was giving him advice on how to woo a man. Mind you, Markus was not the man I thought he'd be running off to woo."
"I don't think anyone thought that." Allison sighed.
"It's weird," Erica grumbled. "The past few days honestly feel like my parents are divorced. I only see either or, Stiles gets us on the weekends." Lydia laughed.
"How does that work?" Allison questioned.
"I don't know," The blonde shrugged leaning back on her hands. "I've never really asked. But it's all sort of instinctual. Like Derek is the alpha, he gives orders and dishes out punishments. Stiles is there to comfort our wounds and give Derek a smack upside the head if he's too hard on us."
"Instinctual?" Lydia grimaced. "Wait, like even your wolf thinks Stiles and Derek were on the road to being a thing?"
"Well," Erica sat up and frowned. "Honestly, before Stiles ran off with Merkus after the game and I told Derek about it, I thought they already were. It just made sense. Isaac said something a little while ago when I came over cause 'Mom and Dad are fighting again'. We all just kinda felt it I guess."
"Huh," Allison thought. Lydia smiled, the other two girls eyeing her suspiciously.
"What are you thinking?" Allison asked carefully.
"Oh," She smiled watching a blur jeep pull up the driveway. "Right on queue. Follow my lead ladies."
The two spared a look at each other before watching Stiles climb out of the jeep plastic bag in hand and a box-taped shut- under his arm.
"Hey, where is everyone?" Stiles eyed the house while approaching the girls.
"Outback." Erica supplied with a nod of her head.
"Surprised to see you showed up." Lydia offered, standing and going inside without giving him a chance to respond.
Allison followed without a word and Erica, slightly confused, gave him a quick look before rushing to follow. She didn't understand what Lydia's plan was but he didn't exactly wanna be left alone with him. She was not a fan of awkward situations.
Stiles stood there slightly hurt and very confused.
"What's wrong with you?" He asked following the girls into the kitchen. "What did I do now?" He busied himself unpacking the baked goods into the snack cupboard and the sunscreen he'll be needing later on the counter. He took a second to tuck the box off the side in the corner out of the way.
"It's nothing, Stiles." Lydia sighed, as though she was more hurt than anything else. The other two followed her mellow demeanor and avoided looking at Stiles.
"Okay," Stiles groans, getting a little paranoid. "So either I did something stupid and you're angry with me, or I did something really stupid and hurt your feelings?"
"Stiles," Lydia warned, lifting her hand to stop him from talking. "I don't wanna talk about it here, it's not my place."
"Heh," Stile let out a dry chuckle. "Since when is it not your place to talk about things I did to hurt you?"
"Cause you didn't exactly hurt me." Lydia put up a good front of being frustrated and emotionally exhausted.
The two were so focused on each other, that no one but Allison saw Erica's eyes widen and head start to shake as she motioned to the doorway leading out the back of the house.
"So I did do something stupid and hurt someone's feelings." Stiles nodded like he was finally getting to the bottom of it. "What happened?"
"Stiles," Lydia gave him a firm glare like it was supposed to be obvious what he did. Stiles just freaked out a bit at the knowing accusation in her tone and shrugged exasperated. "You broke things off with Derek!" She said louder than she really needed to.
Stiles blinked, obviously confused. "What?"
Erica cleared her throat, making the two look towards her and Allison who just started at something over their shoulders shifting awkwardly.
Stiles, mouth still slack with complete and utter confusion followed their gaze and looked to see Isaac and Derek standing there looking just as awkward. Well maybe, that was more Isaac.
"Um," Isaac cleared his throat daring a glance at Derek who stood completely still and stoic. "Pools ready."
Stiles looked around at each face in the room, all of them looking at him with uncertainty and then to Derek with sympathy.
"What?" Stiles asked again more exasperated. He gave everyone a look one last time before addressing the room as a whole, "There wasn't ever any breaking things off, me and Derek were never together."
"You weren't?" Issac asked completely unsure, looking to Derek for confirmation.
"Yea-" Stiles rolled his tongue along his lips and put his hands on his hips like an offended mother. "I think I'd remember being all up on that." He motioned to Derek who only raised a brow.
"Oh," Isaac nodded, still unsure. "You hen you and Markus... " He trailed off.
"Huh," Now Stiles looked really offended. "As if."
Lydia laughed at the unintended reference before she quieted herself and motioned the girls to ditch the awkward air with her. They all, as though if they moved too fast someone would be angry, stepped out into the hall and went the long way around back, through the front door.
"What is happening?" Stiles looked to the two completely bewildered as to where any of this was coming from all of a sudden.
"Um," Isaac looked to Derek who hadn't moved an inch. "I'm gonna-"
"Hold it!" Stiles raised his hand and pointed an accusatory finger at him. Isaac stopped in his attempt to back out of the room, frozen in place. "What the hell is all this drama about?"
"Um-"
"Say 'um' one more time, I'm gonna burn your scarf."
"Wh-" Isaac pouted for a moment before awkwardly shuffling between his two feet. "We kinda all thought you and Derek were, um-" He froze and dared a glance at a very unamused Stiles and an increasingly amused Derek. "Together, and you've been spending a lot of time with that Markus guy so we figured you two split-"
"That's enough." Stiles waved him away. Isaac was grateful and ran out back without a second glance.
Stiles sighed, facing Derek with a blank stare. Derek looked even more amused about all of this now that everyone was gone.
"You think this is funny?"
"I didn't realize that's the conclusion the pack came to." Was all he said.
"Well, we should probably make some things clear before the kids side with you in the divorce." Stiles scored playfully trying to hide his nervousness. He really didn't expect this to be the way he ended up addressing his and Derek's relationship.
"You think they'd take my side?" Derek raised a brow. "You're the one that spoils them."
Stiles just laughed, it's all he could do. They were standing ten feet apart, dancing around the subject.
Derek took a whiff of the air and smiled at the scent of stiles that became more and more permanent every time he came over. If it weren't for the past few days, and Isaac living here, Stiles was here the most out of everyone.
"So," Derek tried to think of the jerk's name, "Markus, you guys aren't," He made and gesture with his hands, looking away from Stiles.
"No, god no."
"Right," He nodded, "Cause when you came home from that party, you smelled like. . ."
"What?" Stiles tilted his head. He remembered being left in the dark room wondering what made Derek look so uncomfortable, and actually a little angry. He had a hard time trying to sleep cause his mind kept asking questions.
"A stranger, and sex." Derek put it bluntly. Stiles's eyes bulged out of his head and Derek almost laughed.
"What? No," Stiles recoiled in shock, not expecting him to say that.
"Then you started leaving us behind to go hand out with this guy you met at the party." Drek shrugged.
"The dude I met is not-" He stopped himself from saying the word, it sounded too absurd. "I met Markus, he was DD'ing for his friends, we got to talking. He offered to pay me to help him study. That's it!"
Derek nodded in understanding. He didn't need to hear Stile's heartbeat to tell that was the truth.
"Must have been a good amount of money for you to ditch the pack twice," Derek said, not really making it a question. Stiles chewed on his lip as Derek approached the kitchen island and leaned on it. "What?"
Stiles sighed turning to grab the box and placing it on the island and slinging it over to Derek. "The allowance I get from Dad every now and then wouldn't have been enough."
Derek stared at him for a moment before turning his attention to the box curiously and carefully opening it.
"It's just a housewarming gift," Stiles shuffled in place, looking anywhere but Derek.
Derek looked down in the box at stacks of plates and bowls, cups, all individually wrapped. Derek took a plate and gently tore it free from the plastic wrap, examining the intricate royal blue patterns along the edges, and the vibrant red and yellow flowers painted in the center. The flowers are arranged in the vague shape of a wolf, with leaves surrounding it like a nest. The dish was glossy, polished, and shinny, and smelled of somewhere old but clean. turning it over he saw painted in very neat handwriting, "The family is One of Nature's Masterpieces. Proberty of Hale, made by A. Bartosz."
Derek looked up to Stiles who started at the plat in his hands.
"Um, they're hand-painted, I went to a place out in Allens Town. A polish place. You've been using paper plates and stuff so I figured," Stile trailed briefing a look at Derek before returning his gaze to the plate. "In Poland, there's a belief that the beauty of the dish enriches the flavor of the food. You're always cooking for everyone so I thought-" Stiles cut himself off with a sigh and scratched the back of his neck.
Derek carefully set down the plate and walked around to Stiles who was still looking anywhere but him.
Next thing Stiles knew, he was warm. Really warm. Warm around his waist from Derek's arm, warm in his cheek where Derek held, warm on his lips where Derek kissed.
Stiles melted against him with a relieved sigh. It felt like he was in a dream he never wanted to wake up from. A dream the never thought would come true, no matter how many times Lydia told him to go for it.
He lifted his hands and placed them firmly on Derek's chest, one sliding further up to the base of his neck. He had no idea what he was doing, and he was fairly certain Derek knew it based on the rumble of laughter in his chest. But he followed Derek's lead and soon found a rhythm that made Stiles's knees weak.
When Derek finally pulled away, Stiles straight-up whined in protest, earning a chuckle from the alpha.
"Thank you," He smiled softly stroking Stiles's cheek with his thumb.
Stiles was giddy at the affection, smiling dreamily up at Derek. It made something in Derek stir back to life. The walls he tried to build back up the past few days crumbled down around him as Stiles pushed up into another kiss, hands coming up around his neck and into his hair. Derek hugged and his waist and pulled his impossibly closer, sighing in contentment.
"No," They heard a sudden shout, pulling apart and looking to the back door. Erica was moving away with her back to them heading back into the yard. "They're busy eating each other faces!"
"Oh, my god." Stiles groaned. Derek only chuckled turning back to Stiles and pulling him back in.

Ok, so I had an idea for a teen wolf fic I have neither the talent nor the time to write - so I’m putting it out into the world for those much more talented and motivated then me.
It’s kinda a 5+1 sounding idea about the fact that the wolves think stiles is weaker then he is. Not in a bad way, but in the way where they no longer know how to gage human strength and even though stiles looks like this
They forget that he is probably in better shape then almost any human around (not to mention in an fbi training programming).
So the basic idea is either stiles will be doing something that requires strength- like lifting bags of cement or fertilizer- moving/opening something- etc and a pack member will either come in and “help” him by assuming he was struggling. Or stiles pretends to struggle and then a pack member helps them only for when they leave for him to just effortlessly handle the rest.
I picture it either ending with stiles having to do something when the wolves are incapacitated- either funny like they lost their powers and stiles has to do a bunch of stuff they used to. Or serious like they are all in danger and stiles moves a thing previously thought to be too much for him.
Mostly I have this scene in my head of stiles moving into a new apt or something with someone from quantico and Derek or Scott won’t let him lift anything heavy . And while there doing that the other person who is human and knows stiles is strong just goes “ they do know you can bench press my body weight right” and stiles just grins.
Anyway, someone can do whatever with this. It can be any time line with any pack members, ships or no ships. Let it infect your brain like it has mine.
My only ask, is if this does inspire you to write something please tag me.
Have a great day

When Derek walked in to find Stiles handcuffed to a kitchen chair, he stopped in his tracks and just stared for a few moments. Stiles stared back, his expression defeated, his eyes showing the kind of exhaustion that's unique to someone who has spent a whole day chasing after two hyperactive six-year-old werewolf boys the night before a full moon. Derek felt a growl rising in his throat and fought it down. "Where are they?" he asked instead, keeping his tone carefully neutral.
Stiles sighed. "I would wager they're holed up in the playroom Mario-Karting their asses off since I grounded them from it for the day." He pointedly jingled the bracelet encircling his wrist, which was attached to one of the slats along the backrest of the chair. "Can you...?"
Derek scanned the kitchen and saw the key resting on the counter next to the microwave. He made quick work of unlocking his husband, who immediately began massaging his wrist as Derek leaned in to plant a somewhat distracted kiss on his lips. "Don't worry, I'll handle this," he said.
"Derek."
This had been a point of contention for them in recent weeks, as their adopted sons' behavior had escalated from minor mischief to potentially dangerous hijinks. It was a good sign, Stiles insisted, an indication that after almost seven months of being in their care, the boys were feeling comfortable enough to misbehave. Derek wholeheartedly disagreed, believing that laying down the law was not only important but necessary, lest they end up with uncontrollable twin monsters.
And that was easy enough for him, as the boys had a natural healthy respect for the Alpha, viewing him with undisguised awe and obeying his instructions at least seven times out of ten. (And the other three times, they regretted it but quick.) For Stiles, the average was one in ten, and usually the obedience was coincidental, not intentional. It was depressing him, and, more, it was putting undue stress on their relationship.
"I was handling it!" Stiles had protested one day two weeks ago, when Derek had walked in to see both boys jumping gleefully on their beautiful black leather sectional, blond curls bouncing chaotically as Stiles repeatedly (and unsuccessfully) grabbed for flailing appendages he could use to pull them back to solid ground.
"It didn't look good from where I was standing!" Derek protested. "You're way too easy on them, Stiles."
And true, all it took was one Alpha growl from Derek to snap them to attention, a command to "Get down NOW" and five minutes facing the wall in separate corners before they were sniffling and full of contrition and apologies. Stiles didn't want to be jealous of his husband's far superior child-wrangling abilities, but he was. And it was becoming quite a sore subject.
So now, at Stiles's one-word objection, Derek took a deep breath and a step back, gesturing for Stiles to lead the way to the playroom. He could just be backup, he figured, maybe flashing Alpha eyes at the adorable brats from behind Stiles’s shoulder. But Stiles stopped him from following by placing a hand on his chest. "They'll never take me seriously if you're always bad cop," he said.
It was important. To Stiles, to the boys. To their family. Derek raised his hands in surrender. "I'm here if you need me," he said, and Stiles leaned in for a real kiss before Derek headed back to the living room to perch on the couch and listen from afar.
And what he heard was truly impressive. Stiles was stern. He was authoritative. He confiscated the contraband video game. He doled out early bedtimes as a consequence. He explained in no uncertain terms why their behavior was unacceptable and what would happen if they didn't start following the rules. He didn't even raise his voice. The three of them emerged ten minutes later, one twin in Stiles's arms and the other clinging to his shirttail, both of them looking sufficiently chastised.
Derek raised a questioning eyebrow at Stiles, who was clearly trying to suppress a smirk. "We're all good now," he reassured, knowing full well that Derek had listened to most of the exchange. "But Oliver has a question for you."
The twin at Stiles's side looked at Derek with wide blue eyes and said, "Why do you have handcuffs in the drawer next to your bed?"

Stiles & Derek are dating, but they're a bit discreet when the pack is around, so the pack doesn't notice they're dating... Until they're having a meet and Stiles is "late", so Erica asks "Okay, where's Stiles?" and then Derek just shrugs and says "Oh, he arrived and was tired as fuck, so I told him to go take a nap. I'll fill him in later, we can go on without him 'cause no one is going to wake him up." The pack is confused, but they just go ahead.
A bit later when they're done with the boring part of the meeting Stiles comes downstairs and just casually kisses Derek and then turns to the pack "What did I miss?" the pack is shocked and Isaac says "You just kissed Derek." and Stiles replies "Well, yeah... It happens when you're dating someone." and the pack is like "DATING?????!!!!!" while Stiles & Derek are just like "Yeah, we thought you guys knew...? But anyways, let's just order food and watch something. "

Shut up and Kiss me
I'm so excited about my @stereksecretsanta post for @serenelystrange. I hope you enjoy your story! It was super fun to write!
I'm soooo excited that it's been revealed now!
Relationship: Sterek
Rating: Teen and up
Summary:
Stiles’ eyes shot up as the bell above the door jingled, his magic letting him know that the people coming through were not human. They were a gorgeous pair, both tall with dark hair, perfect bone structure, and the graceful gait that all werewolves seemed to have. The female of the pair had dark eyes and a lean build, muscular but without the bulk the male carried. His eyes were light and impossible to look away from. He couldn’t tell the color from the distance, but he didn’t care. He could stare into them for hours.
He jumped, giving his dad a sharp look when he was kicked in the shin under the table. “What the hell was that for?”
“Staring is rude. I know I taught you that a long time ago.”
“Shh, Jesus, Dad, they can hear you.” Glancing back toward the pair, Stiles sucked air through his teeth as their eyes met again. “Who are they?”
“Care to join us, deputies?” the sheriff asked, glancing between Stiles and his new recruits. “It seems my son is curious about you two.”
Groaning in embarrassment, Stiles buried his face in his hands. Of course, these two gorgeous people were his father's new deputies. That’s just how his life went.

"C'mon Scott, it's Halloween!!"
"Every day is Halloween for us Stiles," Scott sighed, picking at the food on his lunch tray.
"Not every day!" Stiles tried to protest, but when Scott gave him a look, Stiles relented slightly. "Okay, sure, every day can feel like Halloween when you're a teenage werewolf, but hear me out!!"
"Here you out about what?" Lydia asked as she and Allison joined the table, setting down their trays.
"Scott's saying he doesn't want to do anything for Halloween!" Stiles whined slightly.
It was childish, he knew, to whine about this, but Halloween had always been Stiles' favorite. The decorations, the atmosphere of fall and fun, dressing up, and getting to be something else other than yourself. Not to mention the candy!
"What did you have in mind?" Erica asked as she, Isaac, and Boyd sat across from them.
"It's not like I want to go trick or treating or anything," Stiles explained. "I just thought it would be fun to spend it together and celebrate. Though handing out candy would be fun."
"We could watch scary movies," Boyd suggested.
"Or we would walk some of the more decorated neighborhoods to look at the lights," Isaac added.
"Normal stuff!" Stiles pointed out as he looked pleadingly at Scott.
"Where would we even meet?" Scott countered.
"Any of our houses would work," Lydia said practically. "Except maybe Allison's."
"That's a good point," Allison agreed. "Dad's come a long way accepting my friendship with the pack, but I don't think he would be thrilled if I brought the pack home."
"We could ask Derek if we can use the loft!" Erica offered, enthusiasm warming her voice.
"Costumes?" Stiles asked.
"Optional?" Lydia offered the compromise, and Stiles nodded.
"I'm good with that!" Stiles couldn't help his growing smile. "And if we don't want to commit to a full movie, we could look up Halloween episodes of TV shows we like!"
"Oh, I like that idea!" Allison looked at Scott, hopefully. "What do you think?"
Scott sighed again, but before he could answer, Stiles chimed in one more time:
"C'mon Scott, it'll be like when we were little!"
That sentiment, along with Stiles' pleading eyes, was enough for Scott to give in with a reluctant smile.
"I'm clearly outvoted. Who's house should we use?"
"I think it depends on how late we'll be staying," Lydia said, ever the practical hostess. "Do we want to spend the night?"
The group debated for a while who's house to use, and the pros and cons of the different locations weighed and considered. The Loft vs the Lake House. The Lake House vs Scotts House. Scott's house vs Stiles' House and, of course, Stiles' house vs the Loft. Full circle a few times before it was eventually decided that Stiles' house was the best choice, not only because his street got a decent amount of foot traffic and trick-or-treaters but because Stiles had the most movie options.
******
"I still think every day is Halloween for us," Scott said by way of greeting when he arrived at Stiles' house after school.
"And today, it's for everyone!" Stiles grinned, tossing a pack of Reese's pieces to the grumpy werewolf. "So you'll just have to deal with it. Nice costume, by the way."
"It was easy enough," Scott shrugged. He was wearing a set of scrubs and had a stethoscope around his neck. "I didn't even have to steal anything."
"I resent that comment," Stiles laughed. "I didn't steal anything either!"
"So you just happened to have a leather jacket lying around?"
"For your information, I borrowed it from Isaac," Stiles huffed.
"He's lucky it fit," Isaac teased as the two entered the living room. The were' was lounging on the couch in a white T-shirt and jeans. The T-shirt had been written on with a Sharpie to say, 'This is my costume.' "He's kind of short," Isaac said.
"Am I short or are you just freakishly tall?" Stiles shot back.
"What are you supposed to be anyway?" Scott asked, plopping on the couch next to Isaac.
"Isn't it obvious?" Stiles' grin had a hint of mischief now. "Here I'll give you a hint!"
Stiles crossed to the furthest side of the room and struck a pose. His hands in his pockets, feet apart, and something close to a glare on his face as he stared at Scott. Scott stared back for a minute, thinking before he burst into laughter.
"Are you Derek?" He managed to gasp between peals of laughter.
Stiles dropped the glare, his face lighting up at Scott's delight.
"Yeah! He'll probably kill me for it, but it's still a good costume!"
"I know I said he didn't steal it, but if Derek asks, he absolutely did," Isaac grinned too, but before he could say more, he cocked his head towards the door.
"They back with the pizza?" Stiles asked, and Isaac nodded.
Scott could hear them all now, too.
"Perfect timing. It sounds like Lydia is here, too. Allison's with her," Isaac reported what he could hear to Stiles' human ears.
"Awesome! Scott, grab plates for us?" Stiles asked.
"Sure," Scott stood, heading to the kitchen.
When he came back, everyone was settling around the living room.
Erica was in all black and had a pair of cat ears. Boyd didn't seem to be wearing a costume but had brought several bags of candy (both to share and to pass out). Allison had braided her hair over one shoulder and brought her bow for a simple Katniss costume. Lydia was in a simple green dress with fake ivy twined around her head in a crown.
"Poison Ivy?" Scott asked as he handed out the plates.
Lydia nodded.
"It had been my plan for handing out candy at home so I figured I would still wear it!"
"Ivy and Catwoman," Stiles joked "wish we had known there was a theme."
"Don't worry, Stiles, you're still my Batman," Erica winked.
The group fell into easy banter, occasionally interrupted by trick-or-treaters as it got later. Eventually, they put on the Addams Family Values just for the atmosphere, as they mostly kept talking and handing out candy. It wasn't far into the movie when Derek showed up.
"Hey Sourwolf!" Stiles called from the couch when Derek followed Erica inside.
"Erica said you were all hanging out for Halloween," Derek looked awkward as he explained. "She said I should come."
"Absolutely!" Stiles grinned. "Come sit. I think we have pizza still. Where did the box go?"
Derek settled next to Stiles and was handed a plate with a couple of slices of pizza on it. He took a bite and subconsciously scanned the room as he ate, noting everyone's costumes or lack of costumes. He was confused by Stiles', though. The jacket was clearly Isaac's, and for the life of him, Derek couldn't figure out what Stiles was supposed to be.
It was when Stiles was coming back from his turn to hand out candy that Derek finally asked.
"So what are you supposed to be?"
Derek was confused by the giggles that broke out at his question.
"Haven't figured it out yet, big guy?" Stiles smirked. "I'm you!" Stiles struck his pose and aimed his glare at Derek. "Back when you were a creeperwolf who would stare instead of actually communicating!"
Everyone was laughing again, and Derek couldn't help a small smile.
"Terrible," was all he said, and Stiles shrugged, his usual smile coming back.
"At least I have a costume!"
General protest broke out at this, and Stiles had to dodge thrown candy as he made his way back to his seat next to Derek. If Stiles took advantage of that fact to tuck himself closer to Derek (to use him as a shield), no one needed to know.
And if, a couple of hours later, Derek casually put an arm around Stiles, who could blame him? He just needed to stretch; it was cramped on the couch.
And if they were still like that, leaning into each other, fast asleep, surrounded by the pack (also asleep through the room, haphazardly covered with blankets and using each other as pillows), when the sheriff came home the next morning, who would be surprised? Certainly not Noah Stilinski, who snapped a few photos before grabbing some candy from the bowl on the table and heading upstairs. He could let them sleep. Questions could wait.

Lost Fic Find
pack movie night and Derek and Stiles are sharing a popcorn bowl. One of them reaches for the bowl and misses it, touch the other's dick by accident
Unexpected Turn of Events by sterekstyles
(1/1 I 1,093 I Mature I Sterek)
Stiles quickly surveyed the living room area of the loft, looking at the pack sprawled there, ready for movie night. He was the last to sit down, so figured he'd have to sit on the floor. He looked around the room for a free space and looked suspiciously around at the pack when he realised the only seat available was a tiny space between Derek and the sofa arm rest, he wondered why the people on the floor hadn't tried to nab the spot on the sofa. That was until he saw the smirk on Erica's face and the look of slight guilt on Scott's. They were up to something. Stiles shrugged, grabbed the popcorn and went to squeeze into the spot, ending up pressed head to toe against Derek's side and still being slightly sat on the arm rest. He shoved the popcorn into Derek's lap as he tried to get comfortable.

Sometimes I have to sit down and sit with the overwhelming anger about all they took from Derek.
I don't even mean the Hale Fire and Laura.
He was an Alpha and he was slowly growing a pack. And the writers went "lol no" and killed Erica and forced Derek to kill Boyd and made Isaac join Scott and then they took his Alpha powers away too.
And then they gave Scott Alpha powers and just... took that from Derek.
The Hale Pack had been in that city for so long and they took that away, erased the Hale Pack by making it the McCall Pack, they took the last thing that Derek had left from him to give it to Scott, his territory and the title of pack of Beacon Hills.
And it's just so devastating that they didn't have to.
There could have been two packs. The Hale Pack and the McCall Pack could have coexisted, aiding each other. Heck, it would have added an interesting dynamic to the story.
But they just... kept taking everything away from Derek and sometimes, that thought wrecks me.
And that's why I'll never write beta Derek, that's why I cling onto the Hale Pack with everything I have, because Derek already lost everything else, he deserved to heal and to regain the Hale Pack, to build a future.

Ok this but Sterek lol.
Derek shifts into a full wolf for the first time in front of the pack, and everyone (minus the Hales) are kind of really terrified of him because they still believe that the "human" and the "wolf" are two separate consciousness inside werewolves, when in reality it's just a clash of evolved vs baser instincts.
Anyways, Stiles is the onlg one approaches Derek, and despite Derek's glare pets him/kisses him. Derek tries to resist, of course, but in the end he ends up on his back, asking for tummy rubs and more pets and kisses. (He bites off everyone who comes close to him, except Kira, whom he allows to pet him exactly once).
Of course Stiles is the only one who can touch Derek like this 😂 and since the rest of them fear that Derek's gonna be ferocious in training... none of them make fun of him for this later (weeks later, Jackson or Erica make a comment, and then they're forced to run like, 10 laps of the whole town in under an hour. If they can't, they have to restart and add 5 laps every time. Erica runs in heels and she has to suffer doing 15 laps, but Jackson ends up doing 25, after which they both crawl to Stiles to complain, and Stiles withholds pets and kisses from Derek for exactly a day before succumbing to his literal puppy eyes).

Stiles wasn't human, well they don't exactly know what he is but he's something.
It was something everyone suspected but never voiced out loud unless in a joking or teasing manner but soon after Stiles visited relatives in Poland they saw signs, signs of things that couldn't be explained or understood, even though they checked the Bestiary they couldn't find it... Deaton or Chris didn't know and even their contacts. So they did the best thing they could, they went back to where it all started which was a fucking cave in the woods near Stiles's grandmother's home...
