When I saw John’s death scene again in my second Far Cry 5 playthrough, I suddenly wondered if it was really the Deputy who ripped the key off his neck… or if John did it himself.

The more I look at this, the more uncertain I am about whose arm makes the other’s move:

I always thought the Deputy simply had had enough of John trying to convince them they’re wrong and had decided to cut him short by violently taking his key, but maybe it’s actually John who made them do it as if to say, “You want this? Take it, then! See what happens!”

I’m probably imagining things and the Deputy really just eventually managed to take John’s key despite him trying to hold them back (which seems to make more sense because he then looks genuinely sad and prays for the salvation of their soul), but I suppose it’s not impossible he used his last strength to angrily “give” it to them by pushing their arm away from him.

The FARCRY Protagonists - Pony Version 2

Here I am with the others 😌. I know they're a bit hard to read, but:

Oakley (Deputy), Takkar, and Jason/Starstriped Trees, Mammoth Bash, TravelHooves

Like Cybercommando, Mammoth Bash will likely only be referenced in this AU, as it's hard to fit him in with a timeline of the other, main games. We still love Mammoth Bash in this household.

Out of these, Starstriped Trees is my favorite. Dani (Lucky Star) is still my favorite generally, though !

Here are the design elements and conversation for these:

Starstriped Trees (or Starstripe for short) is modeled after normal horses, from this world - Specifically wild mustangs. They can be found plenty of places, but due to the themes in FARCRY 5, I tried looking for a horse that screamed "AMERICA !" to me more than specific breeds, disregarding origin.

I originally wanted to make Mammoth Bash resemble an ancestor of horses, but decided against it. Instead, I went for a more rustic color palette to imitate cave paintings.

TravelHooves is modeled after both a map and the Rook Islands. His cutie mark is originally just a map and a wing within a circle, but he insists the tatau is his true cutie mark.

Starstripe just has wings, but they're generally more feathery and soft. He much prefers to use these by base jumping, though - Catching air/gliding before pumping his wings is his preferred method (unlike Lucky Star, who'll do both this, and jump off the ground to chase a bird).

i just got back into playing far cry 5 (yay for a new fucking hyperfixation /s) and now i have a question WHERE THE FUCK DOES THE DEPUTY LIVE??? where does our gd character live at?? we'd have to live somewhere, right????
