Ive already written about 2 or so works on yan!jiaoqiu but having more doesn't hurt.

To be fair, all of my thoughts should be taken with a grain of salt - that salt being the fact i have no knowledge whatsoever of the actual canon events that are going on right now. The entire Xianshou loufu or whatever gameplay i watched on youtube was in a fever haze and i ought to maintain that streak.

As for yan!jiaoqiu,

I feel like he's definitely a bit vindictive, and very manipulative. He'll rarely use physical strength.

Hes the kind that guilt trips, love bombs, then gaslights only to pull away and ghost you once both of you are deep into a relationship. If you two have an argument, most likely it's because Jiaoqiu provokes it, and then leaves "sulking", acting like you touched a very sensitive spot. He'll be sure to wring it out, acting like he "doesnt want to talk about it" to anyone close that asks. He disappears and leaves the others to question and bombard you, instead.

He probably acts "helpless" towards you, so it seems like you're in perfect control because.. well, how could you not be? Your lover is quite lucky to meet someone like you who hasn't taken advantage of him or his kind nature. Surely you don't think it's possible for him to make you stay in the relationship?

His love is quite smothering, though. Constantly leaves fur from his tail on you somewhere, and if you get annoyed, he'll act like he's in low spirits about it. He'll love feeding you, and actually acts somewhat better when it comes to your diet - including all necessary food items you need to eat,and doesn't shy away from indulging you from time to time. If you eat anything without his permission though.. he gets very huffy about it, almost stupidly so.

He has a habit of "biting" you, as a form of affection. Sometimes, he bites you a little harder than normal, saying it's just cuteness aggression, but it's most likely his own stress from the fear of you leaving him. It's like the kind of "pride" someone has when they finally let go of things, but only after there's claw marks on it.

Speaking of, yan!Jiaoqiu actually is very insecure of you leaving him, even for a few days. He constantly has to know where you are, and might even involve Moze into the mix - using his own inability to keep an eye on you as a sort of "leash" over him. He wears a loving and easy smile around you, but whenever you aren't present, he looks like he's about to suck the entire nailbed off of his fingers. He gets so extremely worried about what you're thinking or how close you are to leaving him (especially even without a word, or a simple text), that it acts as a the main root of why exactly he provokes you.

Usually after arguments settle down, he spoils you, and again, lovebombs you. He really is terrified, but he'd rather have you think it's an act than actually know he is. That way he always has some "upper hand" even without your knowledge. In the meantime, he takes the best care of you he can – makes lovely meals for you, takes care of you if you're sick (without any spiking), praises you often and generally acts like a normal, healthy lover with you. All that until.. his insecurity spikes up again and he has to start an argument.

If you do leave - he won't give you an emotional reaction, or rather he believes he is rightfully refusing you the privilege of it. He'll stay quiet for a long, long, time. In the middle of it, he disappears again, but doesn't come back from simple reasoning. He doesn't just want you back, he wants you begging for him, for his affections, for him to just return. His circle of friends might even influence you strongly to return to him and persuade him before he does anything foolish, especially for someone who has already been through so much. Why do you act so harshly towards a poor man like that? All of the pressure cracks down on you and leaves you begging him.

Anyways, depending on how "compliant" you are towards him, he's actually a healthy lover the more you can deal with him. You may even have a chance to "reform" him – if you can deal with the massive amounts of insecurity and self-sabotage. Just try not to spiral down with him in the process.

Confession, I thought for the longest time Husk was a.. well dog. I.. Don't know why I thought that, perhaps it's the face markings and his name being "Husk" (Like Husky) that caused my confusion. For two years after the pilot I was... rather dumb..

ATTRACTION:

He enjoys those who are more honest with themselves and aren't pushovers. He can hardly stand those in denial. He calls it as he sees it when he's pushed to do so. This is less of an attraction thing, but I feel he would be most compatible with someone he can be real with and can be able to deal with his bluntness. In a way, you keep each other in check.

CUDDLES:

Small and soft, warm too. He's a cat, so it feels like snuggling into a large cat! I don't think he would be too deep into PDA, the most he would be comfortable with doing is quick kisses when someone else is passing by.. usually... more on that later. Though, now that it's mentioned, I don't think he would be too big on physical affection all that much.. now don't get me wrong he loves a good back massage every now and then, but it's going to take him a while to curl up next to you for cuddling. JEALOUSY:

He deals with his jealousy the same way he deals with all of his other problems. Alcohol. He sees another man chatting you up? Alcohol. Sees you laughing a little too much at some chumps joke? Alcohol. Someone talks brings up how you seem so lively around another person? Alcohol. I think you get the point. However, if it's a case of you being pushed into a situation you don't want to be in, he's going to pick up on your discomfort and drag you away... does not make it seem like you have somewhere else to be, no, he just tells the other person to fuck off as he takes you away. His fur sometimes fluffs up in annoyance. Pulling that pin from the C section, in regards to PDA, he will tug you to his side to further push the effect that you're taken.

KISSES:

Bunny kisses. You know, you two touch noses and nuzzle a bit. He doesn't allow it often, but it is something you two do every now and again. He defaults to kissing you on the mouth, quick pecks usually aren't for him, though... Sometimes leans over the counter of his bar to steal a kiss when no one else is around. He can't be with someone who heavily relies on physical touch, it's simply not for him and he can only compromise so much. That's not to say he wouldn't try, because he would. As for actual deal breakers within an established relationship... I think it would have to be a stubborn person. Funny, coming from him since he's stubborn. No, when I say stubborn I mean people who can't take their heads out of their asses to see that there's other things to worry about and shit like that. Though.. seeing that he died in the 70s, I enjoy that the thought that he defaults to names from that decade. I believe he would call you "Dollface" or even just "Doll"

Tends to sleep either sprawled out of curled into a ball. Really it depends, though more often than not he sleeps sprawled out. Doesn't like being held while he sleeps, so cuddling while you guys doze off is off the table. Though, he wouldn't mind you scratching between his ears or shoulder blades sometimes... maybe you'll even hear him purr. Will take a decent amount of time before you get to the "sleeping in the same bed" stage. Old man snores, so good luck with that.

So I think this could go a lot of different ways but I’ll narrow my thoughts down a bit.

Regardless of WHAT you are, I think he’s going to have to learn to trust you. He’s gone through a lot (both DO/Wukong). So while he may get along with you or be interested he’s going to have to learn to trust you deeply. Some races more than others.

And it might take him a while to figure out how exactly to treat you, bear with him because he’s trying. But I think this is going to the the biggest factor for him in regards to treatment of you, his trust with you and the circumstances you meet him in/how you treat him too etc.

In General:

I of course think he’d treat you differently depending on WHAT you are specifically in regards to holding back his strength or does he fight you / you fight him. As well as, do you have fur????? A tail? Because some physical actions might be different towards you based on those things. Like tails might intertwine or maybe yours is less sensitive than his etc, or do you have wings? Or other physical attributes that he’d have to account for.

BUT I also think he’d treat you differently based on your personal preference TO A POINT. Meaning, he’s going to factor in your likes and dislikes but will always know your limits (especially after he learns to trust you) and boundaries, he won’t push past those unless given explicit permission - granted he might test the boundaries here and there until he figures out where you stand.

And his basic personality characteristics don’t necessarily change. Example: He is still a trickster and will play pranks at your expense.

For humans, I think he’d be the most delicate with them in terms of using his strength be it during spicy time, cuddle time, or even sparring. While humans are resilient we aren’t that strong especially compared to him. So he’d have to temper himself. Granted, if his human lover wanted a little rougher treatment during spicy time I don’t think he’d be opposed to it but would temper himself accordingly.

Of course it depends on how any one person sees their reader/OC! So keep that in mind 😊

For demons / celestials I think this opens up a lot of room for interpretation. Because depending one WHAT you are your strength and tolerances vary. And I think he’d absolutely adjust to it. He may not HAVE to be as delicate in general but might be if it’s your preference. If you can spar or fight with him he’d be delighted - he would love having a playmate that can relatively keep up with him or keep him on his toes (not that a human couldn’t catch him off guard but unless they have some super cool magic etc they won’t always keep up).

In regards to grooming - he’d of course want you to help groom him. As for grooming you, he’s absolutely gonna do it regardless of what you are. But as I mentioned certain things may be a little different if you have fur vs no fur. He will learn what you like or what needs to be done for your hair/fur. He will want to be an expert so you come to HIM for grooming needs. Stuff like scales, fur, wool, skin, whatever - he’s going to want to learn so he can help you with whatever you need.

Plus, I think cultural differences can come into play. There may be certain things he doesn’t understand about you and would need to be educated on them and same for you him. But he’d definitely make it work and make compromises - sometimes might take some patience here. He is stubborn.

Regardless of who his mate is, I do feel like he’d be extra caring of them. Sure some he can physically be tougher with but I feel like he’s going to be caring and soft for them and only them too. Sometimes it may be more physical in nature- comforting tail stuff like holding tails together or making sure he doesn’t hurt your wings. Or holding hands and curling his tail around your waist.

Other factors like - Do you go into Heat/Rut? Those could be questions to consider that he would have to deal with. I feel like if you DID have that, it could make it fun because Monkey has a LOT of stamina so he’d keep up. He’s also tend to your basic needs like food and water or replacing clothes/bedding etc.

He is a protector, so this means no matter what race you are he’s going to always fill that role. Granted, he’s going to learn your limits. So if you’re not a fighter? He’s going to do the brunt of protecting and fighting. If you are a race that can fight or likes to, he’s going to let you take control of yourself to a point. Because he wants to see YOU defend yourself and be confident of course! But at the end of the day he’s going to step in when he’s needed (and at times when he’s not because that’s him).

I don’t think he’s going to treat anyone better or worse depending on a race after falling in love with them. It just shifts based on how much of HIM you can handle physically and abilities etc etc. As I mentioned above he’d take time to trust someone and depending on who you are or where you come from it may take him longer.

That said….

I do HC him (both of them) as dominant in this aspect. So yeah, he’d absolutely treat you differently based on a race here. He might be meaner or more standoffish OR he might reel you in just to get you to trust HIM based on WHAT you are and the circumstances surrounding you, this way he can sus you out easier in case YOU are trying to trick him. If you’re a monkey he knows he wields power and influence over you pretty easily, he is the Monkey King…. But another demon race or even a celestial? He might not be super pleasant at first, even to humans. (If it’s not yandere, he may just be an absolute dick/asshole). Might come off uncaring or untrusting until he figures you out to a degree.

He likes things HIS way. Deciding your his well…hopefully you want him too 💀. But in general especially depending on WHEN you meet him he might be meaner or a bit more cruel before he softens up for you. Something about you pulls his attention though and he keeps finding himself near you. Even if he’s being a jerk - he might let you struggle before helping you (until he truly falls for you).

If you’re thinking along the lines of “Court napping” he’d see some races as more of a challenge than others. Humans? Not that bad. Probably fun to scare and ‘hunt’. Demons/Celestials? Probably going to give him a challenge one way or another and he’d thrive on that. Regardless of which, he’s going to assert himself over them one way or another and they will be his.

Shes very warm! Shes like your personal heater! If you guys are cuddling in her bed you guys are soooooo cozy and comfy, shes got the best bedding! Vaggie

On the opposite end, vaggie is very cold physically.. a bit muscular due to her days as a fighter, as well as seemingly keeping up at least a bit since her fall. Tense when cuddling, and let's you take the lead and rest how you want. It's not like she doesnt want to cuddle you shes just.. inexperienced and doesnt know exactly what you want unless you two are very close 6/10 shes got the spirit though!

Alastor

Average body temperature if not a little on the cooler side. Only let's you cuddle with him because you two are close and comfortable with each other. Despite this cuddling isnt a very common occurrence. While not technically cuddling, he will let you rest yourself on his back and shoulders while he sits and works on something. You better feel special, if you were anyone else you would be torn apart 4/10

Angel Dust

Warm soft and cozy thanks to his fluff! Let's you rest your head on his chest- though he ready for him to make a comment or two if you guys are a couple.. his extra arms come in handy with holding someone, so theres a bonus there! Does your hair sometimes when you two are huddled up together though it depends on the mood and the positions 7/10

Pentious

Oh poor.. poor boy... doesnt know where to put his hands- if you two are just friends he doesnt want you to get any wrong ideas. But if you guys are dating he doesnt want to put his hands in the wrong place and make you uncomfortable. His nerves make him a little slimy.. not the best.. cold but does warm up from your own body heat so HOORAY! Hes not going to be freezing for long! Wraps his tail around you if you're comfortable with it, it makes you feel secure.. 6/10

Soft, thanks to his fur! Sure it's a little.. eeeuugh...in terms of feel.. but maybe you can convince him to take better care of himself. “Dear gods, are they... dead?” Caitlyn demanded discovering your limp form. 

Steb was about to hiss at her to make her back down, but... 

He gravely nodded to his superior, stopping her from taking the jacket off your face. 

“Oh... That’s why you covered their face... What a tragedy... I am sorry you had to discover them Steb, it is never a nice experience...” She let her hand fall back to her side with a pained expression, “Those waters are so treacherous...” 

Steb nodded once again before clearing his throat. 

“Of course, Steb. Take them away, you know what to do. I hope we will find their family quickly, the news will not be easy to bring.” 

He felt his cheek fins waving uncontrollably before forcing them still. He slightly bowed to his two partners and turned away from them, walking away with his heart in a frenzy.

You lose interest in his gibberish and look around the room, illuminated only by the fire, and you... Wince 

It smells horrible in here! Like... burnt hair! Like...! 

You immediately lift the covers off yourself, searching frantically until Steb grabs your face between his two hands, with a gentle smile and sparkly eyes. You gulp as his third eyelids blink, he appears so pleased. 

He gently turns your head toward the fire... And you cannot refrain the scream escaping you. 

Your fur! Your fur! Your liberty! Your freedom! Your... 

Steb immediately presses you against his tall body in a soothing manner, caressing your hair and kissing the top of your head as he feels your sharp nails digging into the flesh of his arms to let you go. 

You struggle in his embrace with sobs and fury, but he doesn’t let go, welcoming your scratches and bites as many delicate and soft caress that he will forever hold close to his heart...

Writing Notes: Poison Ivy & Poison Oak

Poison ivy and poison oak - plants that cause an allergic skin reaction in most people who are exposed to them.

Poison Ivy - generally thought of as a climbing vine, can also grow as a shrub or bush.

It has leaves that are elliptical in shape and grow in groups of 3 on a stem.

Common in the US, except in the southwest, Alaska, and Hawaii.

Poison Oak - grows as a shrub

Has leaves that are shaped like oak leaves and grow in groups of 3 to a stem.

Common in the US, especially on the west coast from Mexico to Canada.

Symptoms

The symptoms for poison ivy and poison oak are the same.

Usually the first symptoms to appear are: itchiness and

swelling in the areas of contact.

The itchy rash that follows is made up of small pimple-like bumps (sometimes referred to as papules), as well as

blisters that later break open, ooze, and crust over.

In most cases, the condition goes away in 2 weeks.

Not everyone is sensitive to poison ivy and poison oak.

However, 9 out of 10 people who come in contact with either of the plants will have an allergic reaction to some degree.

All parts of the plants are poisonous and the amount of time it takes for an allergic reaction to develop varies from person to person.

The extent and severity of the reaction depends on the length of exposure, type of contact, and how sensitive the person is to the plants.

If a person is going to have an allergic reaction, it will usually occur within one or two days of exposure. However, some people have a reaction within an hour, whereas others don’t experience a reaction until 5 days after the exposure.

Causes

The substance that causes the allergic reaction is the same for both plants. It is an oily resin called urushiol.

It only takes a small amount of the resin to cause a reaction.

The resin can be transferred to the skin by directly touching the plant or indirectly by coming in contact with something that has touched the plant, such as tools, animals, or clothing. Although animals are rarely affected, they can carry the resin on their fur and transfer it to humans.

According to the experts at the University of Maryland Medical Center, the ‘‘chemical [resin] can remain active for more than a year.’’

Treatment

Anyone who comes in contact with either plant should wash the exposed area with soap and water immediately.

Taking a bath immediately after contact is not recommended, because that could spread the resin to other areas of the body.

All clothing, including shoes and shoelaces, should be removed carefully and either washed separately or discarded.

For minor cases, hydrocortisone cream and Calamine lotion can provide relief until the symptoms disappear.

Over-the-counter Benadryl capsules help with the itching.

Some people find oatmeal or baking soda baths to be soothing as well.

Oral steroids, such as prednisone, are available for more serious cases, especially those affecting the face, eyes, mouth, or genitals.

If signs of infection develop, such as pus and a fever, patients should contact their doctors.

Patients should consult their physicians before they use any ointments that contain benzocaine or zirconium, because they can cause an allergic reaction that worsens the condition.

Antihistamine ointments are not recommended for the same reason. The experts at the Alabama Cooperative Extension System caution that ‘‘some people have severe allergic reactions to these plants and can have swelling in the throat, breathing problems, weakness, dizziness, and bluish lips.’’

Emergency medical care should be sought if any serious reactions occur.

Prevention

The best prevention is know what the plants look like and to avoid them.

A common saying should be kept in mind: Leaves of three, let them be.

People who plan to be in an area where poison ivy and poison oak might be found should wear protective clothing, such as long-sleeved shirts and long pants.

Eradication of the plants should be handled with care.

As stated by the experts at the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, ‘‘burning can be dangerous and is not recommended for disposal or as a control measure, because the toxic oil from the plant can be carried in the smoke.’’

Instead they recommend spraying the plants with glyphosate, which is commonly known as the brands Roundup or Kleenup.

⭐ I work in a specialty hospital for pets. We take care of cats and dogs with issues like cancer, heart disease, and major injuries, to name a few. We're not a regular vet where you go for checkups. It isn't unusual to see bills costing thousands of dollars. The smallest bill I regularly see is still $200+, while the biggest I've ever seen was more than $20k (that was a single visit, not counting the thousands they spent before getting to that point). All that said, I still hear from clients that we're cheaper than our closest competitor. It's just an expensive business to be in.

As you can probably guess, there's a lot of heartache in this business. While most of our clients can afford the $200 first visit, many can't afford to follow through on their pet's treatment, regardless of how much they love them. Which means they have to make very difficult decisions, or, more realistically, those decisions are made for them based on their financial realities. So while it's painted as a choice, it really isn't.

And that's the worst part. The fact that they're here at all is proof that they deeply love their fur baby and want them to get better. And we're telling them it IS possible, but we need that $$$. And that sucks. That SUCKS.

That all brings us to today. A new client came over to pay his $1,500 bill (which I personally could not do, so he's clearly better off than I am) and starts complaining about the pricing. I don't set the prices, but I understand wanting to complain. But then he said "what happens when someone can't pay?"

And it's like. I mean. It's not some mystery. It's quite easy to figure out on your own. If someone can't pay, then their pet doesn't get treatment. If their pet doesn't get treatment..... well, that depends on the specific issue, but a lot of the time it means they die. Maybe not immediately, but they're on their way, y'know? If they can't pay, they go home.

So I'm trying to tastefully explain that, and he gets more upset and starts yelling that our prices are killing pets. That we could save more pets if we lowered our prices.

GOLLY GEE, WHY DIDN'T WE EVER THINK ABOUT LOWERING THE PRICES? IT MUST BE BECAUSE WE DON'T CARE ABOUT PETS. WE DON'T CARE ABOUT POOR PEOPLE. IT DEFINITELY ISN'T BECAUSE THIS IS THE REALITY UNDER CAPITALISM AND WE'RE DOING OUR BEST. AND OF COURSE OF COURSE OF COURSE, ALL OF THIS IS MY FAULT, SPECIFICALLY. CLEARLY I, AN ENTRY-LEVEL EMPLOYEE, AM THE ONE MAKING THESE DECISIONS, AND IF YOU MAKE ME FEEL BAD ENOUGH, I'LL FIX IT.

Jfc man. Go yell at someone higher up. Go yell at your elected officials and demand universal healthcare for pets. But this shit is already hard enough, and yelling at me while also asking very emotional questions isn't remotely productive. Fuck you. I hope your dog is doing better.

Hello can I please request a Leo Valdez x reader where maybe they’re having to go up against a monster together and Leo or reader gets hurt and then there’s a really cute confession

I really like you - Leo Valdez x Child of Apollo

Warnings: mention of injury, slight angst, confession/ happy ending, , not set in a specific time, bad spanish (curses), this was my first time writing a fight scene so i apologize, probably butchered what ambrosia can do for plot purposes, No use of y/n, kith, characters are 16+

a/n: i made the reader a child of apollo bc it made for a cute taking care of the injury moment, all of the spanish is from google and english is not my first language, THIS BECAME WAY LONGGEER THAN PLANNED, this was a challenge to write but i also had a lot of fun

Going on a quest with Leo Valdez sounded pretty easy at first. He can literally make fire and is able to pull pretty much anything out of his magic toolbelt.

What you had not considered however, was how much that guy could talk. Not just talk, he flirtet. like his life depended on it. Constantly.

 Since you met him he took every oppertunity for it. Will had tried to tell you that Leo liked you multiple times but you were sure the flirting was just part of his personality.

Its not like it bothered you. It was flattering. But sometimes it hurt, just a little, to know that you were nothing special to him. Just another friend to flirt with. 

And now, in the middle of fighting against a Gryphon, it was more distracting to you than anything. 

You had walked next to each other through a forest, talking when, just as you reached a clearing,  the almost scrawny looking creature appeared. 

Its hind legs those of a lion, but with dark, almost black fur, while the front part of its body was that of an eagle, again almost black, with big wings on its back. Despite being half lion it looked closer to a hyena. The Gryphons Talons and beak glinting dangerously in the fading sunlight, as its red gleaming eyes were trained onto your bodys. 

For a few seconds it simply stood infront of them. Not attacking. You and Leo mirrored its stillness. Hoping against all odds that it would just leave. 

But of course its never that easy.

Within a split second it had launched into the air, just to swoop down towards you, talons streched out infront of its body. You quickly shoved Leo aside, both of you tumpling to the ground as the gryphons talons plunged into the earth where you had been seconds before.

As you scrambled to your feet, the gryphon flew upwards in preperation to dive down again. Within seconds you had pulled your bow of your shoulder and an arrow trained on the flying monster. 

Next to you Leo had pulled a sword out of its sheath on his belt. He had rebelled against it, saying he was gonna be fine with his 3 pound club hammer and fire, but you had forced the sword on him incase of emergency and he was pretty glad for that now.

You started firing arrows at the creature, the first few not hitting anything as the gryphon was really quick and managed to dodge them easily. The fourth one hit its hind leg but the gryphon showed almost no reaction to it. Another arrow hit the gryphons left wing making it tumble towards earth slightly. It was still in the air but was clearly struggling to do so. 

At this point the winged monster was close enough to the ground for leo to lunge at it with his sword, ducking under a talon before dragging his sword along the chest and belly of the creature, making it turn to dust.

"Well, that was easy, dont you thing princesa?", Leo turned to you with a grin, his swordarm losely hanging at his side. 

"Yea, it was." You looked away from him, because gods did he look good like that. "Too easy", you started looking around, "Usually Gryphons are in bigger groups." 

As you slowly turned towards leo again you quickly pulled up your bow, and shot the gryphon tht was about to attack leo, luckily hitting its heart dead center, making it fall to dust.

Leo had flinched slightly as you shot, but whipped around just barely catching the eyes of the monster before they disapeared.

"La Concha de tu Madre", he quietly cursed. You didnt speak a lot of spanish but this one was pretty easy to interpret as 'motherfucker'.

He slowly walked back towards you, while looking around in search for more monsters. "Okay you're right there are definetely more."

"Okay I'll try to take out as many as i can from the sky, you need to handle any that come to close." You instructed as you spotted one Gryphon above you, shooting it.

"Aye Aye." Leo lifted his sword. "I'll protect you dont worry, Hermosa." 

Again, you didnt know what exactly he just called you but considering it was Leo and his tone of voice was very obviously flirty, you assumed it was some sort of petname.

Hearing his voice as he said it made you distracted for just a split second. But that was enough for the arrow you were shooting to jerk slightly to the left, missing the Gryphon.

"Fuck", you cursed under you breath as you pull out the next arrow and aiming it at the gryphon that had almost reached you now, but Leo had already jumped in attacking it. After a few seconds he had killed it.

This went well for a minute or so, but when you had almost all of them killed , the last four attacked all at ones. Why they mostly attacked solo before you coudnt say.

You managed to shoot one, but Leo had to fend of three of them at once. You aimed at them but couldnt shoot without risking to hit leo. Leo managed to kill one but was immedeately hit with the talons of another against his side. 

He let out a sound similar to that of a wounded dog, before swinging around too face the gryphon and cutting of its head as you finally had a clean shot of the last winged beast.

They turned to dust at the same time. 

You and Leo stood in complete silence for a few seconds catching your breaths. But then Leo let out a little whimper, dropping his sword and bringing his hand up to hold is side.

"LEO!"

 You ran towards him, dropping your bow in favour of helping him towards a fallen tree on the edge of the clearing. 

"Sit and take of your shirt" 

You pulled of your backpack and knelt infront of him, taking out healing supplies as well as a small plastic bag filled ambrosia and a bottle of water.

"Wow, at least let me buy you dinner first, cariño", he flashed you a quick flirty but pained grin as he started to pull of his shirt, grunting in pain in the process.

Deciding to gloss over that comment you wait for him to get off his shirt. 

"I'm really sorry..." 

"For what?" ,He looked at you confused as he laid his shirt on the tree next to him.

You hand him a little square of ambrosia. "I probably could've shot that Gryphon before it attacked you. But I was to scared that I might hit you instead. If I would've just shot, you wouldnt be hurt now." You avoided lookin at his face but could see him eating the piece of ambrosia as you opened the waterbottle, pouring some water on a piece of cloth.

Leo chewed for a few seconds in thougt before swallowing. "That wasnt your fault. Not shooting was the right decision. I'm fine really." He tried to catch your eyes but you purposfully put all your focus on his wound. 

"Your not fine." You mumbled through gritted teeth as you started to clean the wound with the cloth. The Gryphon got him good. Three long gashes starting about an inch to the left of his belly button stretching to the side of his ribs, each almost 6 inches long. Luckily they werent as deep and only flesh wounds, not hitting any organs. 

Leo hissed as you carefully wiped away blood, the ambrosia having stopped the bleeding already. 

The wound now clean, you put the now bloody cloth aside and inspected the gashes further, carefully running your hands over them. You squinted a little as you concentrated.  

You see, your dad bein Apollo made you lucky enough to be blessed with healing powers. Nothing crazy. You definetely wouldnt be able to fully heal this, but it would be much more managable.

Concentrating on letting energy flow through your hands into Leo, you watched the edges of the wounds shrink. The whole thing going down to almost half its orinal size and depth. At this point he wouldnt need stitches.

"Wow, you can fuckin heal?!" You finally look up into Leos eyes, a shocked but excited expression on his face. 

"Yeah.." You say confused. You thought he knew that. Clearly he didnt. But to his credit you didnt do it often, as it was exhausting.

"Thats awesome! It feels all warm and tingly" He grins. His expression reminding you of a child on christmas. It made your insides feel all warm and tingly too.

You quickly looked away, clearing your throat, after realizing that you had just been staring at him for like 30 seconds like a lovesick idiot.

You could feel how his eyes stayed glued to your face as you looked through your stuff for a gauze pad and a roll of bandages.

As you looked up to put on the pad and bandage, you could see his smirk out of the corner of your eyes. He had noticed your staring. You bit the inside of your cheek as you continued to wrap the bandage around his torso. 

The proximity of it made your mouth dry and your stomach turn in nervousness. Your head was racing in thoughts. You had never been this close to him, and him bein shirtless certainly didnt help you either. You were sure your face had one slightly pink, it certainly felt like it.

When you were done you cleared you throat again and began to put away your stuff to avoid looking at him. 

"You should be fine now. Uhm... Might be a little sore but uhm.. yea.." Gods this was embarrassing . Really. 

"Hey Princesa?" He said softly, making you turn towards him with a hum in reply. "Thank you."

A soft smile adorned his face. Not a grin or smirk. The kind were his lips curled up in the corners, lips closed, no teeth showing. The kind that made the skin at the outer corner of his eyes crinkle ever so slightly. Eyes that looked so adoring, instead of their usual almost crazy look. It was an expression he didnt show often. 

Your own face softened at his expression, eyebrows rising just the tiniest bit in surprise.

"No problem." A soft smile matching Leos grew on your face. You forced yourself to not look away from him this time. You watched his own gaze observing your face, before moving back to your eyes. He swallowed, his adams apple bopping slighly.

Leo mumbling your name snapped you out of your daze sligthly. Your real name, not some flirty spanish nickname. Just you. 

"I really, really like you." He sounded really nervous. His eyes kept shifting from one of your eyes to the other before looking away for a second and then back to your eyes.

Hearing those worlds made your brain go into overdrive. Did he really just say that? Did you mishear? Is he making fun of you? He must be. But leo wouldnt do that. But there is no way he liked you right? Sure he flirtet with you. a lot. but he did that with everyone right? Why is he looking at you like that? 

You realize you've just been staring at him, not giving him an answer, and hes starting to look anxious at your lack of response.

"Me? You like me?"

"yea..."

"I- ...."

You couldnt think of a proper response. It shouldve just been a simple i like you too. Bu you still hadnt fully comprehendet the situation. 

"You know what... Just forget i said anyhing. I'm sorry I didnt mean to make things awkward or anything-" Leo started to ramble, interpreing your silence as rejection and shifting his eyes to his feet.

"I like you too!" You blurted out in panic, making his eyes snap back up to meet your gaze. "Like a lot. I like your stupid flirting and i hate it when you flirt with other people. I like when you use tha stupidly soft smile that you barely show. I like your dumb jokes even when they're not funny. I like how you always manage to calm me down no matter how scared i am. I like he way your hair falls into your eyes all the time." You look into his eyes, reaching up to grasp his hands in yours, as your expression softens. "I really like you Leo Valdez."

"really?"

"Yes, really" you laugh slighty never breaking eye contact, making Leo grin slightly.

You just look at each other for a few seconds before Leo quietly asks.

"princesa?"You hum in reply. "Can I kiss you?"

"Please."

Thats all it takes for his lips to crash into yours. Its soft, but intense. Your eyes are closed as his lip move against yours. His hands moving to cup your face as yours move around his neck, fingers sinking into his brown curls. 

When he pulls away you keep your eyes closed for a few seconds. Leo rests his forehed against yours, his thumbs lightly stroking your cheeks as both of you catch your breaths. 

You lean back in to kiss him again. A quick, small one this time.

You finally open your eyes to look at him. Both of you have goofy smiles stuck on your faces.

"You dont even know how long ive wanted to do that."

"Hopefully at least as long as i have, mi  sol."

the best places to look for bones are where animals are/die, so this can be woods or forests, farm land, near lakes or rivers, roads and train tracks, this is just naming some places i could think of. you are probably going to have the best of luck near roads and on train tracks thanks to roadkill, but remember always be careful keep your eyes and ears open.

so you have found some bones, now how do you clean them?

well it really depends on the state of the bones, some bones if their old enough and have spent enough time in the sun don’t really need to be cleaned at all since all the fur and flesh will be rotten off and the sun whitens bones over time, you might just have to clean some dirt off.

but for bones where that is not the case, they will need to be cleaned, degreased, and whitened.

so now how to do that. before you do anything i recommend scraping/cutting off any fur/flesh that you can it will make the process easier and faster.

scrub the bones with warm water and dish soap i recommend dawn dish soap but any that says it will get rid of grease will work. once you’ve gotten any remaining dirt off soak the bones in boiling water and dish soap for at least 30 minutes then scrub the bones again and soak them in boiling water again. it’s okay if fur/flesh is still on the bones the cleaning process will take care of that.

now rinse and repeat that process. when scrubbing the bones you can use scissors and or tweezers to help pick of any remaining fur/flesh if needed, soaking them will make this easier.

now once they are clean and no longer have any fur/flesh on them they need to be degreased if the cleaning process didn’t already degrease them, it’s the same as the cleaning process make sure to use dish soap that says it gets rid of grease, except now you can also use some hydrogen peroxide, this will also help start the whitening process.

so now they are degreased and ready to be whitened this technically isn’t necessary but it makes bones look nicer, you don’t have to do this if you don’t like the look of it.

if you do want to whiten your bones, use hydrogen peroxide this is the main whitening method i know of, soak them till they have the the level of whiteness you want them to have. you may have to change out the hydrogen peroxide a couple times, you can also leave them in the sun to whiten but that will take longer.

so now you have clean bones:) you will probably have to use superglue or hot glue to glue in teeth and glue jaws together if you have skulls. super glue can also be useful to use on cracks in bones.

but if you want to avoid having to do all this you can always just buy bones. there's no shame in it and anybody who says that there is is not a real bone collector.

one more thing NEVER use bleach on your bones. NEVER. you can use other cleaning products than the ones i said but never use anything with bleach in it. it will turn your bones yellow and make them more brittle and fragile then normal bones. pictures below of some of my skulls, i used bleach on the opossum skull before i knew better.

You could be a nervous bean more often than you’d like to admit, you loved cuddles but never know when to ask for some. Luckily Pike knows how to read your body language and is more than happy to offer cuddles with you when things aren’t crazy. With time you get braver at asking yourself but it’s always good to know that Pike can always tell when you need one.

Pike’s skill to read your emotions works effectively well on those days where you feel down and lonely, especially when you two are away from the rest of the group to fulfil your duties to Sarenrae. Pike will start by asking if you’re okay, try as you might sometime you just can’t lie to her and she’ll warmly offer to cuddle with you until you feel better.

Keyleth

Cuddles with Keyleth are the best especially when she can wild shape herself into different animals you can snuggle against. You especially love cuddling against her Minxie form, feeling the soft fur under you as you snuggle up to her while she curls around you protectively.

While Keyleth has had her own share of down days, she can’t stand to see the downtrodden look on your face when your mood is low. She’ll scoop you up and hold you close, telling you stories or even singing to an old lullaby she remembers her mother singing to her when she was little. You relax into her after a while as you listen to her and she can’t help feel some pride at how much you trust and depend on her.

Vex

You liked cuddles but didn’t always show it seeing as Vex wasn’t always one for cuddling, thankfully Trinket was. The bear always happy and willing to give you snuggles when Vex was busy. Sometimes while you’re cuddling Trinket, Vex will sneak in and join in, making the cuddle pile extra special.

On days where your condition strongly affects you and you’re feeling useless, Vex will be there to reassure you and hold you in her embrace for as long as you need, telling you over and over that you’re not useless and that she’s happy you’re here with her. Her reassuring words to you always help lift your spirits more and make the bad days more bearable.

Vax

Vax likes his time alone, you understand this, you like your alone time too, but sharing some cuddles every now and again is always nice. The only few times you’ve interrupted his alone time for snuggles are the times he’s in an extra standoffish and distant mood, wanting to lift his mood, it always works or at least helps him feel better.

When you’re the one in a down and distant mood Vax will give you some space at first, give you time to come to him. You eventually do but don’t say anything, letting him talk to you, not about what the issue is, no he won’t push you for that, he’ll sit with you and talk about what he did or how he outwitted Grog in their latest “game”. Slowly but surely making you feel better, while he feels a sense of pride for perking you up again.

Grog

You’re a small, fragile child who likes sharing hugs, he’s a large, powerful goliath who could snap you like a twig if he’s not careful. Thankfully, for both of you, Gorg’s had lots of practice with handling smaller beings

Grog can have a hard time understanding feelings. Especially when you get stubborn and say you’re fine, he accepts that answer until one of the others tells him that you’re 100% not fine. He’s confused, you said you were fine but you were lying? Why would you do that? He doesn’t know exactly what to do so he’ll just scoop you up and keep you close to him until you’re actually feeling better.

Percy

Percy isn’t a touchy feely man always busy, always tinkering. Being his apprentice you get to stay close to him so you could deal with not getting cuddles or hugs. Occasionally when a project of your own goes well and tests successfully he’ll proudly ruffle your hair, it wasn’t much but you’ll take what you can get.

Some days you just don’t feel motivated or worthy of being Percy’s apprentice. When he notices, and he will notice, you’re not in the workshop with him he will drop everything to find you. When he locates where you’re hiding he’ll just talk to help you get your mind off of your troubles and doubts because he knows better then anyone that you are worthy and he couldn’t have asked for a better apprentice.

Scanlan

He’s tried not to get close to you, didn’t want to give the wrong message to whoever he’s flirting with but after that time you called him dad he’s become more open to it, if only a little bit. Scanlan hadn’t realized just how much he’d enjoy something as simple as a hug, sure he’s spent the night with many women, but that pales in comparison to the genuine parental connection he felt when you’d hug him.

When you’d feel sad or upset about something he’s there to cheer you up, with a joke, story or song, anything to see your cheery face again. To the rest of the team’s shock he’s even brushed off ladies who openly tried flirting with him because he saw your watery eyes and pouting expression.

I totally wrote way more than I expected to but here u are! <3 I’ll do a separate post for ofmd and soc bc they have so many characters I have opinions on.

Agere Character Headcanons

Arcane

Vi: As much as she’d be a wonderful caregiver, she’s absolutely a regressor. Being small reminds her of days spent with her parents and Powder, family trips to the fish markets of the coast and sunny days building sand castles at the beach. She tends to be on the older side, a natural tendency from a life spent as the older sibling, taking care of Powder. Vi’s a very active and vivacious little, playing outdoors and hanging off Caitlyn’s shoulders. Loves physical touch, hugs and high fives are the way to go.

Caitlyn: Caregiver all the way! I think she loves kids in general, and despite her awkward nature and sheltered upbringing, she finds it easy to take charge and step into the role of a protector. Definitely looks after Vi and is oftentimes too concerned about her safety. She loves taking the little out to the playground and to eat at Jericho’s food stall (even if she still refuses to eat a bowl of slop herself).

Jinx: Tiniest, cutest, moodiest little troublemaker there is. Jinx regresses to about four or five years old, and absolutely bounces off the walls at all hours of the day. She’s not the quiet, sweet child she once was as Powder, but rather gets herself into trouble and feigns innocence. She loves to annoy both Silco and Sevika, clambering on the latter’s lap and hiding under Silco’s desk for games of hide and seek. Her mood changes rather drastically as well, as she can go from completely happy to hyperventilating sobbing from anything as simple as scraping a knee to refusing bedtime.

Jayce: He’s a very attentive and high strung caregiver. Looking after Viktor is much easier than Caitlyn, Silco, or Sevika’s jobs, but Jayce always fusses over the little. He’s quick to scoop him up whenever it’s deemed necessary, and goes to Mel for help when he needs another pair of hands. Jayce loves caregiving because it gives him something to focus on other than his responsibility to Piltover, and enjoys simple play with his little like story time and building blocks.

Viktor: Super small and quiet regressor! Viktor can get very young, and has no qualms with depending on Jayce for help when he’s little. He likes to be snuggled up on a couch in a mound of blankets and is also content to sit and watch Mel paint the ships that go by the balcony of her apartment. Viktor is sweet and shy and doesn’t tend to verbalize his needs, but because Jayce is so attentive they mesh well together.

Detroit: Become Human

Kara: Caregiver. Need I expand? It’s in her coding in the first place to protect and nurture. Upon her deviance, Kara realizes that even if she was made for it, she can still reclaim that part of herself for herself. She is quick to console whomever her little may be, and projects the kindest and warmest energy to the person she’s taking care of. Kara enjoys making up her own stories, and loves playing make believe with her regressor.

Connor: One hundred percent a regressor. This little guy was shy and uncertain when he first started regressing, as he didn’t know what ‘normal’ behaviour from a deviant was, let alone how to process all the new emotions he was feeling. Connor loves to spend time at Hank’s house with Sumo, revelling in the feeling of the dog’s fluffy fur and laughing happily when he teaches Sumo all sorts of tricks. Connor is usually happy when regressed, but struggles with anxiety and asking for help. Hank is always there to walk Connor through his big feelings and encourages him to use his words.

Markus: He’s one of the most chaotic caregivers there is. You picked the pacifist route in the game? Doesn’t matter. This guy is unhinged when it comes to caregiving. Spoiling his little at any time possible, letting them stay up hours past their bedtime, giving them candy for breakfast and encouraging colouring on the walls. He spent so many years being exactly who Carl wanted him to be while also tasting freedom through Carl’s art that it brings him so much joy to see a regressor’s eyes sparkle when he says yes to whatever their heart desires. He’s also amazing at comforting a regressor. Big hugs and gentle eyes!

Avatar: The Last Airbender

Katara: Is a caregiver! Incredibly kind yet less patient than one (Sokka) might hope. Katara is quick to caution her little, always on the lookout for anything that they might hurt themselves with or on. But this doesn’t mean she hates fun! She adores the beach and using her bending to splash around, and is always ready to get her little an extra blanket or any snacks they ask for. She’s super sweet and falls into the role of a caregiver like she was made for it. Katara has even sewed a plushie or two as gifts, and has a knack for settling a regressor in front of a crackling fire and braiding their hair before bedtime.

Sokka: Regressor for sure. Even though he’s a big brother he never let go of his goofy side, and it plays into so much of his behaviour when he’s regressed. He’s on the older side, around 6-8, and has so much energy he doesn’t know where to put it all. Queue him running around for hours, laughing at absolutely anything that Aang says and bothering Toph just so she’ll play with him. Sokka doesn’t cry, even when he takes a tumble (which is quite often) but is fussy when he doesn’t get his way. He’s a troublemaker, but his beaming smile lets him get away with plenty.

Aang: Honestly I think he’s a caregiver, but is more like a fun uncle than any other label. His sage airbender wisdom doesn’t come through often, which means he’s all about fun all the time. His childish side matches a little like Sokka’s constant energy, and he seems to vanish into a cloud of smoke when any tears come his way. And how did Sokka and Zuko get chocolate all around their mouths, you ask? Well, there’s no one to ask because Aang’s just taken off on his glider on some very important business.

Zuko: LITTLE! REGRESSOR! TINY! Oh my goodness, he’s the first fictional character that I ever headcanoned as a regressor. There’s no need to delve into his trauma here, but the boy is in such a desperate need of healing his childhood that he regressed long before he even knew what it was. Regresses very young, between 2-5. Before meeting the Gaang he’d hang off of Uncle’s shoulder during Pai Sho tournaments on his ship and would shyly ask the crew members to play songs during music nights. His tough demeanour disappears completely when he’s regressed and he turns into a shy boy that is insistent on doing things himself and is quick to cry when he’s unable to, for example, wrap his robes the way he wants. Zuko has a turtleduck plushie that Katara sewed for him after Aang asked him what his favourite animal was and Sokka caught him cuddling up to Appa at night. Sweetest boy in the whole world.

Toph : Caregiver! Matches more with Aang’s style of caregiving than Katara’s, but still lands somewhere in the middle. Her earthbending gives her the ability to pick up on every tiny emotion that a regressor feels, and it means she’s prepared and in tune with every need, happy or unhappy, that someone needs. She tends to playfully tease Zuko and Sokka, but knows exactly where to draw the line with either boy based on the rhythm of their heart. Toph helps Aang when it comes to letting the boys do something Katara has specifically told them they’re not allowed to, and will always feign innocence when confronted by the eldest caregiver.

Catnap - When Catnap gets really sad he retreats to his home and hides there for who knows how long, it could be days or even months before he comes out again. All the curtains drawn, not a single like in the house, if you're hoping for Catnap to eat or drink during this time peroid, other than a cup of juice or two...it's very wishful thinking. he'll most likely just be laying around on the floor or on the furniture. This is also when involuntary agere sets in, during this time he just feels so small and even simple tasks are two scary or frustrating for him (like brushing his teeth or even turning on the lights). During this time he might just were a bathrobe or his pajamas for some form of comfort. He'll hug himself and squeeze his arms very tightly, most of the time his claws are out when he does this so it leads to him cutting himself frequently. I have a feeling he might also wear dresses as a comfort.

Dogday - Remember that MLP episode where Pinkie pie lost her color cause she thought her friends didn't like her anymore? Yeah that's basically Dogday when he gets sad, any bright colors drain from his fur and his smile fades from his face. In my Dogday headcanons I mentioned that his fur feel like a warm mini sun, well when he's sad his fur becomes frigid cold. Unlike Catnap though Dogday still spends time outside, looking for anything that could cheer him up as quick as possible. He still has a hard time talking about what made him upset but he'll try. if what made him said was say him disappointing his friends he'll have a lot of self depricating thoughts (specfically about falling them in some way). he's not nearly as self destructive as Catnap is though, he still takes care of himself. I'll be honest though I could see Dogday having a tea party with stuffed animals when he's sad.

When Kickin gets sad he just gets angry. Like any kind of sorrowful feeling will vented through aggression before the tears eventually come. You can't tell me that Kickin hasn't gotten super overwhelmed thrown himself to the ground and started having a tantrum like a little baby. Kicken grew up with a father with very toxic views on how men should behave so he's not very comfortable crying in front of anybody. The only one who's seen him cry is Bubba, Bubba is reall the only one he's go two if he's sad. he might all himself stupid or an idiot depending on what he's crying about. He also has a teddy bear that he talks to when he's upset.

Bubba is a man who doesn't were his emotions on his sleeves per say as he always tries to keep his cool. You wouldn't even realize he's upset unless he get's really upset. Like Kickin, his sadness comes out as anger, he does cry but not often and not in front of his friends. Bubba would probably be the type to just pick of book or try to do some brain puzzles in order to take his mind of what he's upset about, if that doesn't work he tries to solve the problem on his own.

Hoppy is another critter who i imagine can get very aggressive when she's sad. Her first instinct is just to walk away, blow off the steam and come back when she's ready. She might yell or hop and down depending on how frustrated she is but she would take a deep breath and say "I need to go for a walk" or something like that. She prefers to do this alone but she wouldn't say no if you offered to walk with her and talk about it. It actually means a lot to her that you'd wanna help her.

Picky's ultimate coping mechanism is food though contrary to when she's stressed and stress eats, i feel like when she's sad she makes treats for everyone else. Since she already makes an unholy amount of food for everyone, espically when their doing an activity or going on a trip this just seems like her normal behavoir. Other than baking she might do something calming like apple/berry/flower picking. A nice picnic is also a good way to calm down.

What does any Artist do when they are upset or down in the dumps? Dump every single raw emotion on anything that doesn't move. Craftycorn has had her far share of vent pieces, some she's actually proud of, some that are just nonsensial scribbles soaked in tears. The only vent pieces her friends have seen are the ones that look cute and don't have any concerning elements to it. All the others go straight into the fire, those are not for the critter eye to see. Music, blankets and toys also help.

Bobby is a very emotional person, when she gets really upset it is instant tears or instant bawling. It's real easy to calm her down though, give her a hug, a flower, take her somewhere safe, play a game with her, and voila! If you couldn't tell she does not like being alone when she's upset, She'll cling to the closest person until she isn't upset anymore. If she's bawling she'll be begging you for a hug, she won't make yu hug you if you're uncomfortable with that though.
