« He (Rishi Sunak) is also, however, the hapless human epilogue to a sprawling coalition of Conservative philosophies, from Cameron-era austerity to reckless Johnsonian populism and Trussite madness. None of these conservatisms even tried to grapple with Britain’s underlying weaknesses. They brought an unravelling of the public realm, the self-inflicted wound of Brexit and a new level of misbehaviour in public life. They left us weaker than ever, but that feels like history now. There’s no point gnashing our teeth about it – and given the state of NHS dentistry, gnashing would currently be an unwise experiment. Let us look forward.
The bigger the majority, the more space for political courage, and the greater the chance of success. Labour is likely to be facing a rudderless Tory opposition entangled in an existential debate about its own future. Moderate Tory MPs will feel intimidated by Faragist local parties, much as moderate Labour ones were by Corbynite activists eight or nine years ago.
[ … ]
So, when people say this campaign is changing nothing, it isn’t true. The deeper the collapse of the right and the bigger the Labour majority, the faster and more dramatic will be the impact of the coming government. There will be a change in culture and atmosphere that none of us can, yet, quite imagine. »
— UK journalist Andrew Marr at The New Statesman seemingly making a case for a large Labour majority in the July 4th general election.
Andrew Marr is one of the most respected political journalists in the UK. He's strongly implying that a Labour government would be bolder than the relatively unostentatious Labour election campaign.
Of course with Rishi Sunak obligingly making so many unforced errors, Labour needs mainly to project an image of greater responsibility and more concern for Britons than the Conservatives.
Labour borrowed from Barack Obama the word Change as their slogan for this election. But Miranda Green at the Financial Times podcast suggested that Move Fast and Build Things, a reverse borrowing from early Facebook philosophy, might convey what Labour intends to do when finally in government.
youtube
Ms. Green and FT commentator Robert Shrimsley suggest that this election could be a political "extinction event" for the Tories.
Here are projections for party composition in the next House of Commons after the July 4th election. The chamber has 650 seats with 326 needed for a majority.
This is from Britain Elects, a project of The New Statesman. It's dated June 16th.
Tumblr media
And this is from Electoral Calculus, a polling and political consultancy firm. It's dated June 14th. It includes the 18 seats in Northern Ireland.
Tumblr media
Both projections currently put the Conservatives at under 100 seats. And it's within the realm of possibility that the Liberal Democrats could outnumber the Conservatives and replace them as the official opposition. The Lib Dems have been running a good campaign.

PERSONALITY
Most people would say that Isabela Romero is an easy person to get along with as she's quite friendly. She's tender-hearted, curious, thoughtful, soft-spoken but deeply passionate, and absolutely hilarious. She's always down to have a good time, wanting to spend time with her friends. She talks without thinking even though she means well. Though, she does have a hard time expressing her feelings. She finds being vulnerable to be a scary experience, so she doesn't always open up properly to those who are closest to her. Overall, she has a good reputation and she's very affectionate and caring. Once someone is in her heart, they have a place in it forever.
WRITTEN BY: Janessa (she/her), est.
BACKGROUND / BIO
triggering / sensitive content: none.
Isabela Romero grew up in the suburbs of Merrock, Maine in a huge tight-knit family that's been part of the community for decades. Her father, Andrew, works as a dentist whereas her mother, Norma, is a recently retired school teacher. Her father is a Merrock native, and after finishing dental school, he moved back to the small town. Her father made a name of himself within his industry, opening up a private practice in the suburbs. Because of his values of working hard and making family a priority, he brought up his three children up in a good home. Isabela was the name from of her great-grandmother on her mother's side, and Brigette was her paternal great-grandmother's name. So many beloved family names were inherited, so it was almost as if she had a lot to live up to.
Being the baby of the family as well as the only girl meant that Isabela grew up somewhat spoiled and protected. Though, she wasn't protected in the way of being sheltered. Instead, her family helped her learn to stand up for herself. They wanted to protect her, but they also knew that they wouldn't be around all the time. So instead of fending off people who might hurt her, they gave her the tools necessary to defend herself.
While her father and brothers taught her to be tough, her mother taught her to be classy and elegant. Her mother taught her to be sensitive to others and empathetic to their issues. She also taught her to love the softer things in life and made sure that Isabela was aware that being a free-spoken woman didn't mean she couldn't embrace her childlike wonder or romantic side. Growing up in a well rounded environment allowed her to become the woman she is today - a lovely mix of sweet and sassy, confident and independent, caring but not too naive.
Isabela did fairly well in school because there was always someone to ask for help when it came to her school work. What she didn't do well at, surprisingly, was social interaction. As outgoing as her family members seemed to be, Isabela was a bit more on the reserved side in public and chose to stick to herself or the one or two friends she made that moved with her through her early years of school. Her parents worried a bit about her development, but eventually gave up, figuring she'd come into her own and break out of her shell when she was ready.
It wasn't until she met someone named Miranda Hartman who helped her break out of her shell when they were in elementary school. Throughout their childhood, they were a package deal. Where one was, the other was surely nearby. Isabela was a good balance to Miranda's unrestrained and in-your-face personality, even if Miranda did manage to drag Isabela into the trouble she caused on more than one occasion. Despite befriending Mandy, Isabela was never really that rebellious teenager that would sneak out in the middle of the night, but she never did adhere to a curfew. She often came home later than she was supposed to only to get yelled at in the morning. She would excuse herself by telling them she had a poor sense of time, which didn't really work. Her parents were never awfully strict though, so they would forget about it later on. They knew she wasn't going out to do drugs. That was something she never experimented with.
Entering into high school was a bit scary for Isabela. Everyone was talking about crushes on boys while she looked around and had crushes on boys and girls. Not knowing what she was feeling, she talked to her parents about it and they reassured her that they would love her no matter what. It allowed Isabela to feel comfortable about exploring her feelings without worrying about if she would be unaccepted. After dating a few different people and trying on a few labels, she knew she was pansexual and felt comfortable with it. It was during that time when Isabela had her first real relationship. They both stayed quiet about the affair until they were both ready to come out. Dating Sylvia Cuenco-Burke allowed Isabela to feel more like herself, being able to love freely and openly.
When it came time to apply to college, Isabela knew that she wanted to follow in the footsteps of her father. Her passion for dentistry kicked into high gear after spending her years in high school interning at her father's private practice and getting the feel of what it would be like to work in that kind of environment. Seeing the joy on people's faces as they looked at their new smile always warmed her heart, and she wanted to be apart of that journey for someone. Before committing to any kind of schooling, Isabela had wanted to take a gap year to figure out her prospects. She had planned to spend the summer with her best friend by her side but that slowly changed when Mandy fell in love with someone. In Isabela's mind, it was all too fast and too soon. Then when it ended and Mandy was up and leaving, it left Isabela in complete shock. Mandy's departure from Merrock marked several years apart where they had no contact.
After looking through her options, she settled on going to school at Merrock's community college and eventually graduated with an associate's degree in dental assisting. Instead of wanting to continue on with her schooling, she decided to enter the workforce and accepted an offer from a private dental office in Seattle, Washington where she learned how to be independent from her family and her hometown. In the mean time, she fell in love with someone for the second time and soon found herself in a serious relationship. However, Isabela called it quits after a few years into their relationship when she began to feel like she was a second choice to them, not wanting to be in a relationship where she spent more time missing her partner than being with them.
Isabela spent her first night after the breakup in bed, crying. She realized that she was terrified of being alone. Before the breakup, she felt like her life had been set in stone for her where she could see her whole future planned out. Maybe their problems could have been solved if Isabela had spoken up about how she truly felt. But now it was too late, so Isabela looked at her life and kept pushing forward. Her mother started nagging her about the life that she had given up. Her father tried to support her as much as possible since, in his eyes, she was still his little girl.
After spending many years in Seattle, Isabela felt like she needed a change of scenery to help her feel like herself again. She was ready to try to be happier in a place that didn't have memories tied to her ex. And so it goes, Isabela packed up her bags and moved back to the one place she had always loved - her hometown of Merrock, Maine. It wasn't long before she picked up a job at her father's private practice. Isabela moved back into her old bedroom to live with her parents and started subletting her old condo in Seattle after she left it. Even though it wasn't in her plans to come back to Merrock, it felt nice being back home.
It wasn't long after she had moved back to town that Mandy came back to Merrock, too. They had reconnected while they were both living out on the West Coast after Isabela reached out to Mandy on social media. Isabela had missed the sisterhood that came with the friendship she had with Mandy and it didn't take long for them to visit each other on the weekends, taking flights whenever they could. So when she heard that Mandy was coming home for good, Isabela welcomed her with open arms. With Mandy needing a place to stay and Isabela not wanting to still live in her childhood home, they decided to sign a lease together on an affordable place in downtown Merrock. With her family supporting her and her best friend back in her life, Isabela did indeed feel more happier. She was able to shed the life she had in Seattle where she often felt like a definite outsider in that big city.
It's been a few years since she left Seattle after her breakup and Isabela still feels some remnants of that particular relationship. However, Isabela is coping with life on her own. In rare moments, she gets mad at herself as she could have been making lifelong plans with her ex-partner by now, though she pulls herself together. Despite having those feelings from time to time, the truth is that Isabela has a steady circle of friends, a sizable apartment, a job she loves and two charming pets. With all of that combined, what more could she want?

Dental braces As a dental practice, we are often asked about dental braces. What are they? How do they work? Are they painful? Dental braces can be painful for some people, but this usually only lasts for a few days after the braces have been fitted.
Most people require dental braces for between 18 and 24 months. Once the dental braces have been removed, it is important to continue wearing a dental retainer to ensure that the teeth stay in place.

Our teeth whitening procedures are safe and effective, and can produce results that can significantly brighten your smile. We use only the highest quality dental products and equipment, so you can be sure that you're getting the best possible treatment.

Dental Care in Belleville
Tumblr media
Looking for quality dental care in Belleville, Ontario? No worries! Dr. Rekha Miranda and the staff put the “care” in dental care at Quinte Mall Dental. Dental care is an essential aspect of our overall well-being. It encompasses various practices and treatments to keep our teeth, gums, and mouth healthy.
Dental services offered
Preventive Care: Regular dental check-ups and cleanings are the foundation of good oral health. In Belleville, you can find experienced dentists who emphasize preventive care to catch and address issues before they become more significant and costly.
Cosmetic Dentistry: Are you looking to enhance the appearance of your smile? Cosmetic dentistry services, such as teeth whitening, veneers, and orthodontic treatments, are readily available in Belleville. These procedures can help you achieve the smile you've always dreamed of.
Restorative Dentistry: Accidents happen, and so do dental problems like cavities and cracked teeth. Restorative dentistry services, including fillings, crowns, and dental implants, can restore the form and function of your teeth.
Orthodontics: Straight teeth not only look great but also contribute to better oral health. Orthodontic treatments like braces and Invisalign are provided by skilled orthodontists in Belleville.

Emergency Dental Care: Dental emergencies can happen at any time. In Belleville, you can find dental practices that offer same-day appointments to address sudden toothaches, injuries, or other urgent issues.
The Importance of Regular Check-Ups
Preventing Dental Problems:
Preventive dental care is crucial in preventing dental problems. Regular brushing, flossing, and professional cleanings remove plaque and tartar, reducing the risk of cavities, gum disease, and bad breath. It is essential to develop good oral hygiene habits and attend routine dental check-ups to catch any potential issues early on.
Promoting Overall Health:
Maintaining good oral health is closely linked to overall health. Poor oral hygiene is associated with systemic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, respiratory infections, and preterm birth. Gum infections can allow bacteria to enter the bloodstream, contributing to these health issues. Prioritizing dental care safeguards both oral health and overall well-being.
Early Detection of Dental Problems:
Regular dental check-ups enable early detection of dental problems, preventing the need for complex treatments. Dentists can identify signs of tooth decay, gum disease, oral cancer, and other issues during routine examinations. Timely diagnosis and treatment lead to better outcomes, saving you from more extensive and costly procedures later on.
Enhancing Quality of Life:
A healthy mouth allows for comfortable speech, enjoyable eating, and an enhanced quality of life. Dental treatments like fillings, crowns, and dental implants restore function and aesthetics, improving chewing, speech clarity, and confidence in smiling. A healthy smile positively influences self-esteem, social interactions, and overall confidence.
Advanced Technology for Enhanced Care
Belleville's dental practices stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in dental technology. Patients benefit from modern tools and techniques that enhance the accuracy, comfort, and effectiveness of dental care. Some notable innovations include:
Digital X-rays: These reduce radiation exposure and provide instant, high-resolution images for diagnosis.
Laser Dentistry: Laser technology is used for precise procedures, reducing discomfort and recovery times.
Intraoral Cameras: These allow patients to see what their dentist sees, aiding in education and treatment planning.
3D Imaging: For more complex procedures, 3D imaging provides detailed views of oral structures.
Quinte Mall Dental makes seeing a dentist and receiving dental care in Belleville as convenient, safe, and stress-free as possible, regardless of whether you are simply here for routine dentistry or you require more complicated care. Just give us a call at 613-962-8626 or fill out an online appointment request form today so you can experience it for yourself. We want you to trust us, and we will work to earn it. had a very pleasant conversation with a friend about miranda’s horrible living habits.
humorously, she’s competent but not exactly... smart. like, you know that post where the guy makes frozen pizza and he turns to his date and goes “oh i hate this part” and grabs the burning pizza with his bare hands screaming? that’s miranda. she does that. she grew up with the intent of being made into a symbol of perfection so her father may have neglected “common sense” things like that. (in short; miranda microwaves spoons, txt it.)
in a less-than-humorous sense, miranda really only does see herself as a symbol of perfection—and then a tool, the culmination of the illusive man’s will. not cerberus, the illusive man. (because it was the illusive man who saved her after all, wasn’t he? doesn’t he deserve some recognition from miranda?) that comfy bed in her office rarely sees any use, and miranda’s found that she can set herself to sleep almost anywhere. and she never sleeps for long. the desk under the monitors that carry shepard’s vitals is good for an hourlong nap, and on the normandy she wakes up bleary-eyed by her own holoscreens and fluorescent lights she’d never turned off. her bad sleeping habits follow her even after her defection from cerberus—she oftentimes sits awake in the darkness of a moving shuttle, waiting for something to go wrong, waiting for someone to need her, always, always waiting.

Dom glared at Carter as the mad scientist sauntered around the lab, humming merrily to himself as he gathered tools. The past week had been nothing but Carter taking samples—skin, blood, hair, whatever—and then dumping Dom back into the cell he’d been stuck in. Dom thought it would be much of the same today when the guards tazzed him into submission and dragged him through the halls into the lab.
Apparently Carter was ready to do more.
And as much as Dom glared in defiance at the man, there was no denying the sick fear that clenched in his gut.
He was probably going to die here, on this table.
Dom closed his eyes and tried to steady himself, but each breath shook and the corners of his eyes burned and there was a lump catching in his throat. He was scared. He was so, so afraid. He wanted more than anything to be home with his son and his wife. He wished this was a nightmare and he could wake up. He wished he had never taken this job. He wished he had never become a spy.
“Today’s the day, Mr. Bridges!” Carter’s cheery voice snapped him back to the present and Dom opened his eyes to scowl at Carter, “Aw, no need to look so down! I gave your friends a whole week to come back and get you, but—gasp!—nobody showed up. So I guess that means you’re mine to do with as I please~”
“I’m not your anything!” Dom snapped back.
Carter tsked, shaking his head, “Not so, Mr. Bridges, not so. You’re my property now!”
“You can’t—“ Dom began and then almost bit his tongue when Carter’s hand flashed out and grabbed Dom’s chin, fingers squeezing into Dom’s cheeks and shoving his mouth shut. Carter leaned over him, strapped helplessly to the table, manic anger flickering in his eyes as he smiled at Dom.
“Do not ever,” He hissed between the teeth of his poison grin, “Try and tell me what I can and cannot do, Mr. Bridges. You will find very quickly that I am well within my power to do whatever I want. And there’s nothing you can do to stop me.” He let Dom go with a little pat on the cheek, stepping back to his tools and his humming.
Dom swallowed hard. He hated to admit it but Carter was right. There was nothing Dom could do to get out of this situation. They’d stripped him of any additional tools he might have had, leaving him in his boxers on the cold lab table. Even the restraints had been upgraded to metal clamps that pinched his skin. There would be no slipping away this time. He was well and truly at Carter’s mercy.
Miranda, wherever you are, please…please, I need you. More than ever.
“Let’s get started!” Carter stepped back up to the table, grinning at Dom who just glared right back. If Dom’s head hadn’t been strapped down by the padded clamp across his forehead, he might have tried to headbutt the smug bastard. Carter just beamed at him, a thin tube in his hand, and bent in close. Dom’s breathing picked up and then he gagged as the tube was slid into his nose, making him cough, his eyes watering painfully. He instinctively tried to pull away, but there was no getting away and he could only endure as the tube went deeper and deeper inside him, making him wretch and shudder at the violation.
“Theeerreee we go, step one finished,” Carter said, patting Dom’s cheek as he pulled away, “Just a little feeding tube to keep you going. And it doubles as a an IV line! So, you’ll get fed, hydrated, and medicated all at the same time. Leaves the rest of you free to work with~”
Dom wanted to be sick.
Carter was humming again as he went about his business, glass and metal clinking as he sorted through his tools. When he returned, he was giving Dom another winning smile, “I’ve done all of these experiments separately and the animal testing was very successful. So you’ll be the first human trial! Isn’t that exciting? Now, please open your mouth.”
Dom just glared at him. Carter’s smile became sour and angry, “I will only ask you once.” He slid a device from his pocket, flicked it on and jabbed it into Dom’s side. A brief brief surge of pain jolted through Dom, making his body arch against the electrical shock, mouth falling open to let out a strangled scream. Carter relented not a second later but before Dom could recover, a metal tool was shoved into his mouth and cranked until it forced his jaws as wide open as they could go. Dom panicked, trying to move, trying to jerk away, but only managing a few helpless wriggles. Carter didn’t react to Dom’s struggling at all. He draped a suction tube into Dom’s mouth and added another clamp to keep Doms tongue pinned down and out of the way. Then he dragged over a bright light to point directly into Dom’s face before taking a moment to inspect his setup.
With an affirming nod, Carter turned back to his tray of instruments and returned with—
Dom blanched and a sound that was trying to be a scream worked its way out of him. Carter kept humming, strolling over to work the tool into Dom’s mouth. The clamps of the pliers tightened on one of Dom’s teeth and Dom screamed again when he felt it wrench and twist, heard the crunch of snapping roots echoing in his skull, and taste the iron tang of blood filling his mouth. Tears welled in his eyes and he screwed them shut to try and keep them in. He would not give Carter the satisfaction of crying. But his breathing was rapid and panicked and his whole body was shaking.
He heard the clink of his extracted tooth being dropped into a metal bowl. Then the pliers were on another one of his teeth and the whole thing started all over again. His jaw ached and his throat was sore and his mouth was full of blood and salt by the time Carter left him alone. Dom had no idea how many of his teeth had been pulled, only that it felt as if it had gone on for hours. He was breathless and shaking. He’d had interrogation training, of course, they all had, it was mandatory to see how much you could withstand if you were captured by the enemy. But he’d never experienced something like this.
So when he heard Carter coming back to his side, Dom’s stomach sank and his heart pounded against the prison of his ribcage, begging for escape.
“Hhmmm, perhaps not the best angle…” Carter mused aloud. He set something down on the table and then, to Dom’s shock and horror, hoisted himself up and straddled Dom’s chest, looming over him with that horrible, confident smile, “There we go! Much better! Might have to adjust the lighting as I go but, mm!” He shrugged, leaning in close to Dom’s face, inspecting the mess he’d made, “Hhmmm, yes, I’ll probably have to clean out the old roots somewhat in order for these to take properly—“
No no no no no no no—
“But the chemical adhesion should do most of the work—
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO—
Carter lifted a slim pair of needle-nosed pliers into view and Dom screamed.
And he kept screaming until his voice gave out hours later.
--------------
Dom’s new teeth caught on his lips and the inside of his mouth and scratched his tongue, leaving him wincing and being careful how he moved. They were sharp; almost all of his front teeth had been replaced with sharp, animalistic fangs that sat a little awkwardly in his mouth, occasionally snagging on his lower lip and jutting out ridiculously.
He’d thought once Carter was done with him, it would be back to the cell. But Dom was left strapped to the table, wheezing and exhausted and shaking and alone. He lay there in the dark when the lights had turned off, staring at the dark shapes until exhaustion finally overcame him and he fell asleep.
Nightmares plagued his mind and, when the lights snapped back on some hours later, he didn’t feel rested at all.
--------------
Carter kept playing with Dom’s body.
He sliced open Dom’s chest, peeling back layers of skin and tissue, snapping the ribs out of place with glee. Dom’s numbed to most of the pain, only feeling the dull throb of the wounds, registering the pain as a distant ache. But when Carter slides his hands into Dom’s organs, the sensation of displacement makes Dom retch, convulsing with the intrusive violation of it. Carter didn’t seem to care; he hummed thoughtfully and muttered to himself, fondling Dom’s insides like they were playthings. Eventually, he seemed to come to a conclusion and, gloves dripping with fluids, withdrew from Dom’s abdomen.
The relief Dom felt was short-lived because Carter returned with something slimy and organic looking in a dish and far too many surgical tools for Dom’s liking.
When Carter picked the oozing thing up and started seeing how best to fit it among Dom’s already existing organs, Dom began to beg for mercy.
Mercy never came, of course.
Mercy glanced in the window, saw Dominic Bridges, laughed, and went on its way.
Dom could only sob brokenly at the weight of a new organ sitting inside his stitched up chest.
“It will be uncomfortable for a little bit,” Carter assured him with a smile, patting Dom on the shoulder as if this were a regular doctor visit and not a freakshow, “Until it assimilates properly to your body. You may experience some tingling sensations, severe cramps, nausea, and possibly even a mild burning feeling. But you’ll be just fine, I’m sure! You’re such a hearty, fellow!”
The “mild burning” felt more like he was being cooked from the inside out. Dom writhed on the lab table, left there once again to stew in agony overnight. He screamed and struggled until his body just plain gave out, overwhelmed by pain and exhaustion. It was too much. His poor mind was starting to fracture under the strain and his body was straining to hold itself together.
By the time Dom managed to regain consciousness, Carter had slit open Dom’s hands and was tinkering with the bones and muscles, making fingers twitch and spasm. Dom felt sick. But all he could do was lay there and stare listlessly at the ceiling. He wished he could leave his body. He wished he could go home. He almost wished he was dead. But not quite. Being dead would mean never seeing Cody or Miranda again. He had to hold on. The Agency would come for him, he knew they wouldn’t just abandon him here. Miranda certainly wouldn’t stand for it. He had to hold onto that knowledge, had to hold onto the fact that Miranda would absolutely come rescue him.
But…how long had it been…? Why wasn’t she here yet? How long had Carter been torturing him for?
Where was Miranda?
--------------------
Dom didn’t think there was much of him left anymore.
During one of the procedures, Carter had tenderly extracted Dom’s eyes from their sockets, snipping the connections and severing them from Dom’s head. The blindness had been horrific and left him gasping and floundering in the dark, whimpering in fear, only able to listen to Carter move around him.
Carter had given him new eyes, of course. He’d even been kind enough to hold up a mirror so Dom could see them! They were not Dom’s eyes. These eyes were a wicked gold, lanced with green, the pupils narrow slits, his vision sharper and clearer than it ever had been. Carter’s rambling about the genetic makeup of the new eyes washed right over him as he stared at his gaunt, pale face with animal eyes and sharp teeth.
What was he now? Was he still human?
It was with even more delight that Carter showed him the retractable claws he’d grafted into Dom’s hands. He’d gone so far as to unhook Dom’s hand, lifting his arm up to press in the center of Dom’s palm, forcing the muscles to flex and for the claws in his fingernail beds to elongate. It was a jarring sensation of bone sliding underneath his skin. But Dom hadn’t even had the strength to try and attack Carter, even with a whole arm free, he just let it hang limp in Carter’s grasp.
His body felt tired and heavy and sick.
Was it even his body anymore?
“That extra organ I stitched into you a while ago should be all settled in now,” Carter told him one day (hour? morning? night?), “So we’ll move on to the additional adjustments. Please don’t get any ideas, Subject 24, I’d hate for you to break your streak of good behavior~”
Dom just blinked slowly at him. He was so drained and sore and tired. His thoughts were wet sand clumping and eventually falling in great chunks through his fingers. His attention wandered itself into static circles until he wasn’t thinking about anything at all, just staring into space. No one had said his name in…in…
His brow furrowed slightly. How long had it been? Was he…hadn’t he been waiting for something? For Miranda, right? Where was she? Shouldn’t she have come by now?
Tears burned the corners of Dom’s new eyes and he sniffed pathetically. Carter ignored him, he always did, and carried on talking about how he was going to install Dom’s new gills.
-------------------
Dom was sleeping when the explosion happened.
It shook him from his slumber and he startled badly, flinching as the tender spots on his back scraped against the table. They had never moved him and sores were starting to form on his skin.
He blinked himself awake, glancing around the darkened lab, trying to see what had changed. It didn’t look like anything had, but he’d definitely felt an explosion. Breathing picking up, Dom tugged half-heartedly at the bindings. More explosions outside. His sharpened hearing picked up the muffled sound of voices, the animalistic nose twitched to pick up the smells, and his heart thudded so loud it felt like it would drown out everything else. The beat sounded almost like hope.
The door to the lab exploded in a whirl of smoke and flash of light. Agents ran into the room, guns at the ready, and froze when they saw Dom.
“What the hell…” Said one, their eyes wide with horror and disgust.
“Holy shit.”
“Is that—is that Agent Bridges!?”
“Oh my god…”
“Call Dr. Kearney!”
Dom sobbed in relief. They were here! They had come for him! He was saved! He was going to go home! He was going to be all right!
When Miranda came tearing into the room, Dom tried to call her name.
All that came out was the strained hollow of an animal, lost and alone and calling for help.
It was with a sick horror that Dom remembered how Carter had split open his neck and done something inside him again.
No matter how Dom tried, he could not say Miranda’s name. And it only made him cry harder.
Carter had stolen his voice and his humanity.
There wasn’t much left of Dominic Bridges to save.

A Few Things To Know About Family Dentists
Tumblr media
As the term, Miranda family dentistry would indicate, it is all about taking care of the dental needs and oral health of the whole family. Family dentists diagnose various dental conditions and either prevent them or treat them. They do this for the entire family as such. The practice of family dentistry tends to overlap with many other disciplines in several ways. As an example, it can be said that family dentistry has a lot in common with general dentistry. However, it differs from many fields in various ways as well. The biggest difference is that it deals in providing complete dental care to each and everyone in a family.
But, other forms of dentistry may be specialized in serving only certain age groups of people. In fact, it can be said that the Miranda family dentistry plays a major role in keeping our society dentally healthy.
The duties of these professionals
A family dentist performs various processes to diagnose, prevent, and treat various dental conditions that you and your family members may be suffering from. They also provide you with proper guidance and information that helps you maintain your oral health at all times.
Cleanings
This is a procedure that is commonly performed as part of the Miranda family dentistry. This is helpful in preventing dental conditions such as caries as well as bacterial infections. It is very important that you get your teeth cleaned at regular periods. Brushing twice a day can be really helpful. But even then some food particles may remain trapped within your teeth. You can be sure that only a dentist would be able to remove them. A family dentist uses many instruments such as dental picks, drilling instruments, and elevators to get the job done in this regard.
How often should you get your teeth cleaned?
Ideally, you should get your teeth cleaned at your Miranda family dentistry at an interval of once in every 4 months. This way, it would be easier for doctors to detect dental caries and infections in your teeth. This, in turn, would allow them to take the right kind of measures to make sure that such a condition does not become any worse and end up causing major damage.
Dental fillings
This is also an important work done by these professionals. These are usually done to fill up holes in your teeth.
As your Miranda family dentistry doctor would tell you these holes are signs that your teeth are suffering from dental caries or bacterial infections. The thing with bacteria is that they emit chemical substances that are harmful to your teeth. These attack the surface of your teeth and lead to the development of holes in them. If food particles get stuck in these holes it can only make the infection worse. Dental caries happens to be an infectious disease as well. It can damage the very structure of your teeth. If you do not treat it in time it can pump holes in your teeth as well.

Frequent and Painful Toothache – What to do?
Tumblr media
Having a toothache can be very painful and almost everyone has experienced it since unfortunately, a toothache is so common!
Most often the intervention of a dentist at Miranda dental centre is necessary to solve the problem. Especially when the pain persists for a prolonged period or if it intensifies suddenly.
Toothache can slowly increase in a gradual manner or can occur very suddenly and strongly. Toothache can have different causes. In the majority of cases, toothache is caused by damage to the tooth, its enamel, or more deeply dentin.
But the toothache may be the consequence of an inflammation of a dental nerve, the gum or other tissues supporting the tooth (periodontium).
Depending on the characteristics of the toothache, one should consider its cause: for example, the sudden occurrence of pain which is pulsatile, and which is conveyed by swelling may be reminiscent.
In addition to a clinical examination done by the dentist in Miranda to know the origin of the problem, it can perform examinations, such as an X-ray to find (or confirm) caries, or abscess.
Here are the main causes that give rise to a toothache:
l A decay
l A dental abscess
l Gingivitis or periodontitis
l A tooth or jaw injury
l One or more damaged front teeth
l A dental or maxillary malposition
l A cyst in the jaw
l A dental granuloma
l A dental eruption in a child
l The eruption of a wisdom tooth
l Bruxism that corresponds to the grinding of teeth
l A tooth sensitivity.
An intervention by a dentist, such as placing a filling or root canal, can also cause dental pain. In the case of a filling or a root treatment, the toothache generally disappears alone, after the intervention of the dentist, as soon as the irritation decreases.
It should be noted that pain in the dental region may also be due to problems localized in other parts of the body, for example in the case of otitis, headaches or heart problems (coronary).
Toothache: the treatments
The treatments of a toothache depend mainly on the origin of these pains. For this reason, it is essential to consult family dentistry in Miranda. The Dentist in Miranda will be able to determine the cause of the pain and treat damaged teeth or gums if necessary.
When the toothache is very intense, the question is to know what can be done immediately. Generally, pain medications can be taken while waiting for the dentist appointment.
Dental care depends on the cause of the pain. The dentist at Miranda family dentistry has a variety of treatment methods, ranging from - in the case of caries, for example, conservative dental treatments to extraction.
The dentist at Miranda dental centre chooses the treatment according to his diagnosis, trying as much as possible to preserve the dentition of the patient. Thus, in the case of caries, the dentist removes, if possible, the focus of the decay and fills the cavity with an amalgam (filling).
Do you want to share your experience or having any question? Then, consult the best dentist in Miranda for the best dental centre.

One of the most popular services offered by cosmetic dentists in Belleville is teeth whitening. Teeth can become discolored over time due to aging, smoking, and consuming certain foods and drinks. Cosmetic dentists in Belleville use a variety of teeth whitening techniques, including in-office treatments and take-home kits.
Another popular service offered by cosmetic dentists in Belleville is dental veneers. Dental veneers are thin, custom-made shells that are placed over the front surface of the teeth to improve their appearance.
