The parallelism between Heulendorf and Wolphinel
So much for Strange Things-esque, the World Below, Upside Down theory, parallel universe is happening on Undead Girl Murder Farce but it is only a clandestine underground tunnel that separates between the two villages that are at war from each other. Only a few have known this secret, the one responsible for the killings and some children smart enough to plan about their daily survival.
Taking advantage of the difference of day and night in both villages.
It is a conundrum.
Interestingly, the idea of a hidden tunnel also ironically connects both villages: Heulendorf and Wolphinel.
These two villages harbours a countryside mentality where outsiders are deemed dangerous and not to be trusted, which greatly emphasised here.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle once said through Sherlock Holmes why the countryside is more dangerous than the city:
John Watson: Good heavens! Who would associate crime with these dear old homesteads?
Sherlock Holmes: They always fill me with a certain horror. It is my belief, Watson, founded upon my experience, that the lowest and vilest alleys in London do not present a more dreadful record of sin than does the smiling and beautiful countryside.
John Watson: You horrify me!
From the “Adventure of the Copper Beeches”
One thing that stands out is their society. Both villages, on the surface, are matriarchal. In the human village, it is the Our Lady the focal point of their Christian religion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the male villagers are the ones who observe and practise law and order.
Tumblr media
In Wolphinel, Grandma Regi governs, but the male werewolves, the Blutkralle (blood claws) holds the key to ensure that there is peace and order in the village.

I have an au for tfrid15 where Megatron is there but this is the story. Megatron after exile goes back to earth because of his connection to Unicron. Since Unicron’s life essence is locked away, dark energons powers are basically unchecked so Megatron goes to earth to make sure no one gets their hands on it by any means as Unicron’s undead abilities belong to Megatron now (but he doesn’t have godly powers. All he can do is keep living against impossible odds. He doesn’t raise zombies and whatnot but he doesn’t want anyone to make the same mistake he did)
So when bumblebee and his crew are in their first Decepticon fight instead of Optimus saving Denny it’s Megatron. He flies in jet mode to slam the bot back so he can save the human. But isn’t too happy. He knows Optimus sent bee here. Bee and Megatron obviously aren’t exactly chummy but Megatron explains he knows Optimus was being a cryptic little bitch to him and now he’s stuck here so he might as well help in a mutual agreement as Megatron has to keep decepticons from trying to get dark energon anyways
Megatron sort of becomes a teacher for bumblebee to try and help him run a team since the other crew members are scared of him at first. Eventually when the fear goes away they realize like damn Megatron’s just kind of a homeless guy who smokes weed every so often (he’ll light processed dark energon rods like a blunt. It doesn’t do much to anyone though it’s harmless)
But he sort of becomes the cranky mom of the group and they work together. He’s more chill with Denny though. He sleeps in random places in the junkyard

I really want to understand what's going on when you attack Fia and a spell hits you, so I'm like trying to muddle my way through who is doing the spell. Spoiler alert, I'm not confident that it actually is Godwyn, and it mostly comes down to his level of consciousness being so ambiguous.
If you aren't aware, when you attack Fia after she moves to Deeproot Depths, sometimes there will be a retaliation in the form of Rancorcall(specifically this and NOT Ancient Death Rancor, which puts out more skulls). Some have said "It only happens when she begins gestating the rune" but this is not the case, as this retaliation can still happen before you even give her the other cursemark.
VV Click to watch me fight myself in a Denny's parking lot like the gibbering buffoon that I am VV
Points in favor of it being Godwyn, plus counterarguments:
-Godwyn is protecting Fia so that she can create the mending rune.
Counterpoint: This would be the only direct instance of Godwyn expressing any sort of will or intention post-soul death. If there were further evidence of Godwyn doing anything intentional, this point would be a stronger argument. As it stands, this is essentially circular logic: "This is enough evidence of Godwyn taking action of his own volition and we know it because here he is taking action of his own volition." There are multiple instances in Elden Ring of a soul being essential to the higher functioning of a person. Ranni is purely a soul in a doll body, and is perfectly lucid and capable of higher thought. Sellen's puppet body is lifeless until her primal glintstone is inserted into it. And most damning of all is the case of the D twins, who share a soul, and as a consequence, only the one with the soul can be awake. The evidence for awareness and lucidity of bodies without souls is vanishingly thin. Those Who Live in Death do little else but fight, while other mob enemies can be seen praying, grieving, foraging, or even begging us for their lives.
-Godwyn is the Prince of Death and this is a death spell, which we can find on a scarab on the way to his second corpse in Stormveil
Counterpoint: This relates back to intention. We do not know if Godwyn wants anything, much less to be this 'prince of death' or if he would rather not be relieved of his suffering. Additionally, this spell is a once-forgotten hex rediscovered by Necromancer Garris. Garris may be Tarnished, as his eyes are not gold or blue, which are the colors of the graceborn natives of the Lands Between like Tanith or Thops, or the Carian associated natives, like Sellen or Seluvis. His eye color is quite similar to a few of the Bloody Fingers, who Yura tells us are Tarnished. The reason this is relevant to it allegedly being Godwyn using this spell is that, if this spell was rediscovered by a Tarnished, it is less likely that Godwyn would be making use of it as it would have been lost knowledge when he was alive and aware enough to learn and use it.
Even if you do suppose that his undead form is aware enough to learn this spell, you then have to justify how he learned of it if this necromancer is the one to rediscover it. It's tempting to say 'well duh a necromancer might come to Godwyn's corpse', but then you have to justify that. Here is where we may concede Garris was at Stormveil at some point, given the spell is found on a scarab there. So there is the possibility of him communing with Godwyn's second corpse. However, again, we run into the issue of awareness. This second corpse is not yet full grown, still lacking eyes and half of its body. Is it capable of relaying such information back to the original corpse at the base of the Erdtree?
For these reasons, it would be more straightforward if Fia is the one using the spell. We already know she is capable of death sorceries(and may be extremely competent with them, as she has crafted her own), and we know she is most likely a more recent arrival to the Lands Between(relative to Godwyn) given her exile. This, combined with her interest in death, would perfectly explain how she may come to be in the company of a necromancer and learn a spell like this.
-The spell is cast without a catalyst so it must come from a more powerful source than a Tarnished like Fia.
Spells can be cast without catalysts and there is precedence for that with Sellen's body in Witchbane Ruins. If you attack her while she's chained up, she can still summon a phalanx which appears overhead the same way as this rancor, all without even using her hands or waving an arm. I believe when the Nox Maidens use their mists, it is also cast without a stave.
-Fia says, "Godwyn is that you dear?" when the spell is cast.
This isn't 100% accurate, because she says this even before the spell happens.
Points against it being Godwyn, plus counterarguments:
-This manner of death spell is not linked to Godwyn, lacking the signature gold and black particle effects of sorceries like Fia's Mist or Death Flare, and using instead necromancy/ghostflame. It's also weird that, rather than a spell he doesn't simply blight us the way Rogier was blighted in Stormveil.
Counterpoint: Fia's Mist would cause similar ambiguities about who is actually casting the spell. It's also possible the devs care less about these distinctions between types of death sorcery, or that Godwyn is undiscerning. They may also not have had the time to insert a special, unique attack for Godwyn, and just used something readily available which was loosely related to death in a broader sense than specifically those living in death. They may not have used deathblight as was seen used against Rogier since it would be an instant kill, and they want to give you the option to kill Fia for some reason. -If Godwyn is hoping for the mending rune to be made by Fia, it would have made sense for him to also attack Devin both when he first took the cursemark from his flesh, and/or when he came to Fia as she was making it. Counterpoint: It could be that the weathered state of the dagger is evidence of Godwyn having retaliated against Devin, though it must also be noted the weathering may simply be a result of being used on Godwyn's cursed flesh. It may also be that Godwyn did not care to retaliate when Devin returns, because Fia is already dead and the rune is already made. This would, however, indicate he doesn't feel much in the way of anything sentimental for her, given he's apparently okay with Devin harming her corpse.
-Fia is a death sorceress while Godwyn is only known to have been associated with dragon incantations(primarily via his knights and his personal friendship with Fortissax).
Counterpoint: Godwyn learned these spells after his soul died. (This reasoning has issues outlined up above, primarily with intention and the question of how lucid a body can be without a soul given what we know of this world's lore around that).
-We simply do not know enough to say that Godwyn wants to be Prince of Death, while it is something advocated for by Fia, thus giving further reason for the spell to be her defending herself as opposed to Godwyn defending her.
Counterpoint: His inner circle of knights defend his divided corpses and await the Age of the Duskborn. However, it must be noted that this is AGAIN not something evidenced to come from Godwyn's own intentions. His knights are loyal and will serve him until his death and he is simply not dead, given his body lives on. There's also the fact that, in life, Godwyn could not know this was going to happen to him, or that the cursemarks could be used to form a rune, or that his body would sprout deathroot and create TWLID, or that he'd even be killed at all. So he could not have the intention to become this Prince of Death when all the things making that possible occur after his soul death and we again come up against the issue of intention.
-Thematically speaking, preserving the lack of response from Godwyn also preserves the exploration of one's agency in Ranni and Fia's own stories. Godwyn hangs over the narrative but is not a participating force in it the way Ranni and Fia are. Both are linked closely to Godwyn, and their connections to him are all about their own lack of autonomy, and how their treatment of him resolves their struggle for self-determination while robbing him of his own.
Counterpoint: If we accept Fia is making this rune because Godwyn wants it, she would be returning his autonomy and thus be a 'cure' for the consequences of Ranni's action. The tragedy of his undeath would become a source of power for him instead, returning control over his own fate to him. However, this again feels like it runs counter to the point of his story, given that the Duskborn arc is not about giving new life and purpose to old things but rather preserving and clinging to that old thing and forcing it to carry on. The role of a deathbed companion is explicitly NOT about the creation of something new, but the preservation and rejuvenation of something that's already had its time AT THE EXPENSE of something new(an old noble reborn instead of a new child having its chance at life). It is not unlike Radahn with Leonard - Fia sees in the undead not miserable wretches being forced to cling to a diminished halflife, but beloved children for her to mother, as she was robbed of having any for herself after her expulsion from her homeland, and conditioned into seeing the dead as something to be mothered rather than mourned and laid to rest.

Why do you people get so mad when someone tells you incest is bad? 🤨📸
Hey Dumbass Anon,
We get mad when morons like you come at us because we're fully aware that incest is nearly always wrong in real life, but that has absolutely nothing to do with shipping it in fictional circumstances. You idiots fail to understand that there's a huge difference between FICTION and REALITY, and that enjoying something in fiction doesn't mean condoning it in reality.
Plenty of people are fans of gory films and shows like the Saw series, Hannibal, Dexter, any slasher flick, or even Game of Thrones or The Boys, but only an utter imbecile would believe that those people approve of murder, torture, cannibalism, and so on in the real world. Part of the point of fiction is to allow us to explore dark, dangerous, and/or taboo topics in a safe environment, after all. So why is so hard for you absolute walnuts to understand that this applies to things like Wincest as well?
In addition, the reasons why real-life incest is almost always horrible don't actually apply to Wincest anyways. Sam and Dean are consenting adults who can't have offspring with each other, so there's no possibility of child abuse, rape, or inbreeding. No one at all, whether fictional or real, is getting hurt by fantasizing about these two characters being in a romantic and/or sexual relationship.
Whereas by your ignorant "logic," nearly every major ship in SPN is problematic in some way: any ship with angels or demons involves rape if the vessel is still alive or necrophilia if the host is dead, any ship between a human and any kind of supernatural creature most likely involves major age gaps and/or power imbalances, necrophilia if the creature is undead, and possibly some form of bestiality, and so on. So why aren't you jackasses also going after shippers of Destiel, Sastiel, Sabriel, Denny, and so on?

Welcome to the Nasty Burger, home of the Nasty Burger. Can I take your order?
Mikey doesn't know how he wound up getting talked into working the closing shift at the Nasty Burger in the middle of finals week. He feels like it's some shade of illegal to have a student on the clock past 3 am, but it'll all be worth it, what with Valerie promising him Paulina's phone number for covering for her. Yeah Mikey, keep telling yourself that. It's not like she's already blocked you & changed numbers twice already. She's in love with him, she just doesn't know it yet. Totally. But anyway, that's not even his most pressing issue right now. Oh no, that would be Phantom - THE Phantom. Local town here Phantom. Probably saved the world at least twice and Mikey more times than he could count, Phantom. Yeah, he's been standing - er, floating? Mikey's not entirely sure which, in the drive-thru window for like 20 minutes. And he's been talking. The. Entire. Time. Not ordering food, no. He's just… talking the most batshit nonsense. Even worse, there's a line of cars slowly growing behind him. Mikey had to admit, it took him at least 5 minutes to notice him, initially. Opening the window and attempting to get Phantom's attention hasn't been particularly fruitful. It might help if Mikey said something instead of awkwardly waving & attempting to make eye contact. Yeah, he'll try that. "Uhm, sir?" Mikey tried meekly, to no avail. "So I said, I'm the king of the undead! How am I not exempt from jury duty-" "Excuse me, sir?" He tried, a little louder. No dice. Phantom steamrolled right on through Mikey's admittedly feeble attempts at interruption. "And then the Box Ghost, of all people, strolls in all high and mighty saying he's filing a grievance against me for quote " taking out misplaced aggression" on him! Apparently there's a union for ghosts who died from OSHA violations, of all things! So after the trial, I asked if I could join. Well, as it turns out, since I'm the king of the realm, I don't qualify for any of the protections! Yet I'd still have to pay union dues, can you believe that?!? They said I could take it up with HR, but guess who HR is! The flipping Ghost Writer!! And we all know what he thinks about me. He still hasn't forgiven me for the Christmas Truce fiasco 3 years ago, you know. Like, I'm still not a big fan of the holiday but a truce is a truce and we respect the truce."
Tumblr media
"MR. PHANTOM, SIR YOU ARE BACKING UP MY DRIVE-THRU!!!" whether from embarrassment or exertion from the sheer force of his bellow, Mikey's face turned beet red. He's pretty sure that homeless man across the street wasn't staring murder at him earlier. He might've been asleep then, too. Oops. At least he finally got Phantom's attention. "Wh-huh? Mikey? When did you start working at Denny's? Where's Tali?" The ghosty hero seemed genuinely confused, and also like he wasn't entirely all there at the moment. Maybe he's pulled three all-nighters in a row this week too. That'd explain the spaceship boxers and pink fuzzy slippers he's sporting. "Uh, this is the Nasty Burger?" Mikey responded. Was it a statement or a question? Mikey totally didn't look down at his uniform to confirm he was, in fact, working at the Nasty Burger. "Ah." Phantom said. And upon making that eloquent response, Phantom promptly faded from view, kinda like that popular vine, leaving Mikey with more questions than answers and a line wrapped around the building of hangry, sleep deprived, classmates who stayed up way too late cramming last minute and midnight shift workers desperate for something hot and greasy to shove into their mouths. Great. He didn't even order anything.

A Real Love Story
Tumblr media
WOOOSH!!!! that was all he could hear as the ground came rushing closer and closer to him. One moment they were in a helicopter, The next he was being pulled out and headed towards the river at at least 50 MPH. They had been trying to escape yet again, Had been on the run for so long it was hard to remember how long exactly. But that was the CRM for you, They never gave up and they never stop searching till they had you. And Dennis Graham knew that with how important him and his wife Jennifer Mallick were there was no chance of them giving up looking for them. And they indeed did find them, and was taking them back to HQ and Jadis's order.
But Jennifer seemed to have had other things in mind, Because she had opened that helicopter door, And Next thing he knew he was being pulled out with her, Finally they hit the water and, yeah it hurt like a bitch. But it was smart of her part because she knew exactly where to do it and the chances of survival. The moment he hit the water he started to swim to shore keeping Jennifer in his eye sight. Once there he looked at her but didn't say anything he was mad as hell. Not because she did it but because there was a chance that they could have died. That she could of died and he would never forgive himself for that. He already had lost so much time with her because of his screw up's and he wanted to fix that.
"Come on this way." He said, His tone sharp and angry but again not at her. He pushed through the trees and finally came to what appeared to a city though he wasn't sure what city. If he had to guess it was probably New Jeresy or New York, Though again he wasn't sure. Finally he nodded towards a building and started to head there. At least they would be safe for a bit. It looked like it had seen better days but what other choice did they have? Finally they got inside and he made sure to lock the doors so none of the undead could get in. And the fact that they had no idea how many were inside already just made it worse. But lucky for them as they made their way upstairs they didn't come along any though he could hear them.
Finally they found and unlocked room and he walked inside pulling her along with him before he closed the door. He was just about to say something when he heard a loud crash across from them, It was so loud and strong that it shook the building but as he glanced out the window he saw the helicopter they were in crashing into the building, But that wasn't what shocked him, It was the fact that there was another helicopter shooting rockets at the building and helicopter it was the CRM taking out the evidence of them being there. He moved into the shadows where the helicopter couldn't see them before he looked at her.
Tumblr media
"Are you insane?" he asked her. " We could have died…. YOU could have!!!" he said as water dripped down his face. He knew that she was probably thinking that it would be better then being locked up in a cell in some CRM holding facility but not to him. He looked away as his eye caught the fire from the other building. "I think we will be safe here at least for the night." he said as he looked at her. @scarfacewastaken

Ghost (Pathfinder Second Edition Archetype)
Tumblr media
(art by Denny Ibnu on Artstation)
I’ve had mixed feelings about the universal archetype system of Starfinder and Pathfinder Second Edition since it’s inception. On the one hand, having archetypes be available to usually all classes makes for some interesting creativity when it comes to characters. On the other hand, it does mean the death of archetypes that are integrated with the class they are attached to. No more blood elementalist, no more mad scientist alchemist, et cetera. Sure, Starfinder gave us alternate class feature options which preserved some of the old archetype feel, but it’s definitely an end of an era.
Today’s subject, however, I have no mixed feelings about at all. I LOVE this idea, and it makes perfect sense for it to be available to all classes because every character runs the risk of becoming this in the right circumstances. I present to you, the ghost archetype!
The ghost name is not metaphorical here. This archetype is meant specifically for playing a bona fide undead ghost, an unquiet spirit, a tormented soul bound by their desires and unfinished business.
This archetype is one of a series from Second Edition’s Book of the Dead supplement, which in addition to the skeleton ancestry, provide ways to play a balanced undead character by having various abilities associated with that particular type of undead replace class feats as you level up!
Having the powers of a monstrous transformation be part of your class power set is such a good idea, and honestly reminds me a bit of the old savage species book (and also the playable undead monster classes that followed in libris mortis) from 3.5, and it’s kinda shocking that it hasn’t been implemented in more modern games before then. Certainly First Edition had the corruptions, which were fine for portraying a character struggling with their transformation, but this is a whole other beast.
Having the monstrous abilities be tied to level progression also thematically makes sense as the character grows and learns to better understand what they have become and reliably implement those powers.
Additionally, like certain spellcasting archetypes, it is possible to start at level 1 with this archetype, but of course like those you are required to officially take the dedication at 2nd level.
But we’ve gone a long time just describing this particular class of archetype and how neat it is, but we haven’t actually talked about playing as a ghost!
Stuck on the edge of the material and ethereal planes, ghost are disquiet souls that are burdened with desires and emotions, being unable and unwilling to move on, but not tangled up in the darker emotions and traumas that would give rise to other forms of incorporeal undead. Ghosts can tend to have a variety of powers (a selection of which are available in this archetype) related to what it is they want.
Most ghosts are bound to a location, unable to travel too far without losing substance, and many may struggle to be fully cognizant and realize that they are dead. Not so with these ghostly adventurers. Whether by some fluke or the nature of their determination, these spectral beings are not content to wait for the opportunity to be freed to reveal itself, and venture out into the world, albeit barely able to interact with it, and seek to free themselves from that which pains them… or perhaps refuse to move on at all, depending on the person and the nature of what holds them back.
The dedication to the ghost archetype, if you can call it that, reflects the character’s transformation into and undead being. Much like other undead archetypes, they gain the various benefits of being undead, but also are incorporeal, which has it’s advantages and disadvantages, however they also do not immediately gain the ability to pass through objects, fly, or supernatural resistances to damage from being incorporeal. Instead, those abilities are locked behind other feats, similar to how fly speed is limited for certain ancestries that by rights should already be flying. Your GM can choose to allow you to have a fly speed and phasing early, replacing those feats with ones that make them better, though you should probably keep the ghost damage resistance locked behind a feat. Additionally, when you take this archetype, you must choose a location that you are bound to (for the purposes of rejuvenation if you take that feat) and the nature of the business that binds you to the material world. It is possible to fulfill that business and pass on, but you can also choose to resist the pull of the afterlife, finding something new that needs doing or another bit of unresolved business. It’s also worth noting that these ghosts can spend 10 minutes pulling objects into the ethereal plane to make them effectively enchanted with ghost touch, able to interact with both corporeal and incorporeal friends and foes.
Many ghosts can unleash a frightful moan which chills their foes to the bone, weaponizing their anguish against foes.
Many also develop the resistances being bodiless would normally bring as well. However, doing so truly pushes them into an incorporeal state, which brings with it a somewhat more frail spirit.
Plenty further develop their powers to gain greater undead resistances, as well as gain the ability to sometimes move objects by focusing their will into their incorporeal forms, however, doing so always requires focus.
Those ghosts anchored to the ground can also learn to fly for a few moments at a time.
Others learn to properly phase through solid matter, though they must successfully approach them to do so.
Particularly powerful ghosts truly bind themselves to the location they are bound to, becoming able to rejuvenate their if destroyed as a true ghost would. In this way, only passing on or having their soul destroyed can bring a true end to these beings.
The most powerful among them are fully unrestricted by gravity and may fly wherever they wish, and do so faster than before as well.
Perhaps the most dramatic of the undead transformation archetypes, utterly lacking a body, ghost offers lots of defensive and utility abilities, as well as unique challenges. You might be a terrifying all-too-physical warrior, a spectral thief able to get in almost anywhere, or a ghostly mage bringing torment to their foes. You may not get some of the more nasty ghost abilities like possession, but this is still a fun playable option.
The fun part about this particular undead archetype is that it has a built-in personal plot hook. Resolving your final business, or rejecting that pursuit are integral parts of the character. Whether you start the campaign as a ghost or die and the gm gives you the option to use the next level up you would have had to come back, your character has business to attend to which drives them forward. Also, as a final aside, the art for this archetype is that of a ghostly dwarven warrior arising from their old clan dagger, which lays imbedded in the ground, which I think is a quite evocative image.
Despite being dead, Mikos is on borrowed time, the ghostly man must find his murderer and bring him to justice before the duskwalker that is hunting him catches up, for the spirit-hunter has no concern for justice, only that the cycle of life and death be preserved.
Ripped apart far from home by monstrous quoppopaks, beasts that glide over water on jets of pressurized water, Vokus just wants to see his remains returned home. However, he no longer has the body to see even his skull returned home. As such, he secured them as best he could on an island and made the long quest to the shore to ask someone, anyone to help him find rest.
Bound to her favorite music box, which she now carries with her, Lady Alixia of Vennesburg now wanders the world, though she will not say why, only that she is searching for someone. In truth, she seeks her elvish lover who left for unknown lands and never returned, so that she can say one last proclamation of love… to her grave if necessary.
