Medic: A Doll - STEAKA

Got this idea from @high-lagaard, so thank you! My music taste is pretty broad so I feel like each rec list is going to be very varied lmao.

This month I've been listening to a lot of Nothing But Thieves (I also went to a concert of theirs at the start of this month) - mostly songs from their more recent album (Dead Club City) as I hadn't listened to much of it prior (I'm was more familiar with their older stuff). My favourites from that one are Welcome to the DCC, Pop The Balloon, Oh No :: He Said What? (I lost my mind when they played it live lol) and Time :: Fate :: Karma :: God.

A new Fox Stevenson single came out recently (Sorry), and I've been listening to it almost every day since it came out. I'm in love with the switch-up at the end. It also feels like it could easily transition into another track, which makes me think it might be part of an album in the future (I'm hoping so, at least).

I've been obsessed with Medicine by Sasuke Haraguchi and will continue to listen to it on repeat. It's just so catchy. I also adore this cover and this cover.

Parry by Miyamori Bungaku is also a huge banger. I'm a massive fan of electro swing.

Heat Abnormal by Iyowa has also been on repeat because I heard the Project Sekai version and fell in love with both it and the original (also this cover, this cover and this cover).

Medic: A Doll by STEAKA is so, so, so good and I've been obsessed with it for well over a month at this point lol.

I've also been listening to a lot of King Gizzard as per usual, mostly Witchcraft and Gila Monster (the music vid for the latter is so stupid and they know it and I love it).

Autre Temps by Alcest is also insanely good and I highly recommend both it and the band. Lots of shoegaze mixed with metal (dubbed 'blackgaze'). This song in particular is just very chill and magical.

The entire BlazBlue: Central Fiction soundtrack has been blessing my ears once again. I've literally only played the game a couple of times lol but the soundtrack is just so good. Bullet Dance II, Rebellion II, Lust SIN II, Gluttony Fang II and Oriental Flower II are especially good.

Lastly (I mean, there are so many songs I could recommend, but I'll stop after this lol), I've been listening to so much Polkadot Stingray, which is something I always do. I definitely recommend Free, Kenshin (probably my fav song of theirs), Denkousekka and Blue.

Polkadot Stingray has been my new favorite J-rock band for a while so I wanted to translate some of their songs! “Denkousekka” is my favorite song off their first album. THE MUTUALS LOVE ME . Anyway here we go a lot of this is vocaloid just because that’s what I thought of mostly but there’s some other stuff too ^_^

Pasupare: God I want them to do Viva Happy SO bad. Newly Edgy Idols would also be funny (pjsekai Bandori collab when...) just like, most Mitchie M songs . Give them to Pasupare. Except Mai Mai Mai I think HHW should get it...ALSO elaborate idea for them to do Even Kunoichi Want to Love: Chisaya duet like Happy Synthesizer and Evemaya theoretical PV. It’s perfect it’s everything I am so smart. Also this is happening but I’ve always thought Racing into the Night would be so good w them...Aya lower range is everything <3

Popipa: GOD I want them to cover Hokujouno Susume so bad it’s not even funny . I think they would do well with any Necry Talkie song but this ones popular + the instrumental is SO good. Also Yumemiru Dobunezumi...hm hm for vocaloid they would probably do good with any of the classics. Shake It! might be cute but it would probably do better as a collab cover...another Kasumi x Aya x Kokoro I’m manifesting it 😁😁

Roselia: ROLLING GIRL COVER I would be happy with any band doing this actually but Yukina has a rlly powerful voice so default to her on this one I guess. Hm Skeleton Orchestra and Lilia too maybe? Idk nothing will ever top their Charles cover so. OH OH Raison D’etre by Eve please please please

Afterglow: I actually have a bunch of kagepro covers thought up for all of Bandori because I’m crazy like that but I need them to do Yobanashi Decieve SO bad . I prommy Ran will sound GREAT and the whole song fits aglow so well sound wise I think. OH AND ACTUALLY Ran x Aya collab/Pasupare x Aglow would be fun so maybe Melty Land Nightmare or something...shrugs I’m not too picky. I just want more collabs <3

Harohapi: Like I said above Mai Mai Mai would be really cute with them...they already did 1 2 Fanclub but it kind of Sucked so I would like them to do it again please. Hum any of the higher-energy Polkadot Stingray would sound good with them I think...Denkousekka comes to mind! Oh also. Drop Pop Candy Aya x Kokoro cover WHEN!!!!!!!!!

I wish I could say I had any ideas for Morfonica and RAS but I haven’t listened to enough Morfonica to gauge what’d sound good w them...and RAS has pretty much done covers of everything I would think of right off the top of my head for them...I would like Someone to do Bitter Choco Decoration just because I love that song but I have no idea who’d be good for it. Kasumi or Aya? Oh or maybe Morfonica for that one actually...much to consider!

I somehow have yet to hear this song until now ... I love it so much ! I love the energy all Polkadot Stingray songs have honestly . I really love the bass especially , idk why but it just sticks out to me for some reason . And of course the guitar too , I love pick scrapes alot ahaha

This is the first I'm properly hearing Jin's work and can I say ... I expected . So much more . I like it it's alright but it's so very underwhelming and the buildup to the end is just . Whatever . Maybe because I generally like more Loud music where you can actually hear the instrumental very in-depthly even with the vocals playing over or even if it's a slower song , but it just feels so ... Flat . Where's the payoff . Not a bad song though , I like the keyboard bits alot lol and the MV is gorgus
