okay things that are bugging me about the yukako yamagishi arc (spoilers for part four) bc i have too much time to think

this one is a bit of an assumption on how japanese works and it involves two possible things for me and my own guesswork based on context clues, but it has to do with how koichi and yukako v. every other character (from what i can tell) says but. koichi and yukako say something that sounds like "demo," which is in the same placement as "daga," which im 90% sure means but. characters like rohan (insert daga kotuwaru joke) and josuke say daga, but in the yukako arc, both koichi and yukako say demo, which leads to my three theories:

Demo is a polite way to say but, which would make sense considering that both characters are polite, however, even when yukako is ready to kill koichi, she still says demo.

Demo is a feminine way to say but, which would make me question why koichi says demo.

Demo is both polite and feminine, so both say it in the different contexts of their situations and their personalities.

this entire demo/daga thing is actually kinda interesting to me so if anyone knows about it it would be cool to know ig.

how were okuyasu and josuke, the local dumbasses, able to locate koichi based on the sound of waves and a pay phone within fifty meters of a house? morioh is a town on the beach, which is clearly shown in multiple episodes. in the highway star fight, josuke goes by an entire area that has a bunch of shipping containers, and any one of them could have been near a pay phone.

why does koichi cutting part of his hair make all of yukako's hair come out of his scalp?? presumably thats what happens, because yukako cleary didnt control where he went after that.

also i kinda dont like koichi x yukako bc even tho yukako still got better as a character, she still recieved little punishment and manipulated koichi into a relationship using aya. it also seems to undermine her growth bc she talks about how she would love koichi from a distance. if anyone has any counterpoints or anything to add, please tell me bc im a dumb shit
