The funny thing about the PJO cabin system is that everyone's always all 'oh the twelve' this and 'the twelve' that but that's absolutely not even remotely accurate. To start, right off the bat it's thirteen, not twelve, because they don't count Hades. But not really because before Percy, there were no big three kids, so we're down to ten active cabins already but it's actually eight because Artemis and Hera don't make demigods.

And of those eight, Mr. D is stuck at camp (thus not really making new demigods all that often) and his only two kids don't even sleep in a cabin, they sleep in the Big House with him.

So, pre-Percy, there are seven active cabins at Camp Half-Blood:

Glee club, the Jocks, the Nerds, the Geeks, the Farmers, the 'Sketchy Kids' and the Popular Kids.

Or, in other words, the Apollo, Ares, Athena, Hephaestus, Demeter, Hermes (and the unclaimed kids) and Aphrodite cabins.

What's cool is that you can already see the cabin dynamics in the show. For example, the Athena cabin allies with the Hermes cabin for the numbers. The Hermes kids plus all the unclaimed kids? It's the biggest cabin in the camp by far. It's a battle strategy. Luke and Annabeth's close relationship is just the cherry on top for Annabeth. It'll be really cool to see how the show develops the differences in the cabins during the series.

Headcanon that apollo kids freckle and tan WAY faster than anybody else. Like, within a few hours there's a visible difference that can fade if they're out of the sun too long (a few days). Hades kids burn easily and Demeter/Persephone kids experience extreme seasonal depression when they don't get enough sunlight. Like plants. Also like how in the myths Persephone has to go away and Demeter gets sad and that's why there's winter.

pjo universe quest ideas

a/n: hi!! i am currently writing out my quest for my dr so i thought it would be fun to write out some of my unused ideas. they aren't fully fleshed out unfortunately, but maybe in the future i'll write out some complete quests? these quests are more lowkey, as that's what i'm going for in my dr

🏵️ the mist is slowly fading away and you need to find out who is responsible before a human sees something they shouldn't.

🏵️ a spirit is terrorizing the camp's training grounds, animating dummies and other training equipment, and scaring the campers. you must find a way to communicate with the spirit and convince it to be friendly or to leave.

🏵️ a time capsule buried by past campers has been discovered. many campers have tried to crack the magical seal, but failed. now it's your turn to try.

🏵️ a campers magical pet has gone missing, stealing food from the camp, chewing through the library books and important documents, and most importantly, worrying its owner. your job is to find the pet and return it to camp.

🏵️ mysterious whispers have been heard, leading young campers out into the woods, never to be seen again. you must investigate this alluring voice and find the missing campers.

🏵️ a medallion has gone missing from the big house. this medallion is known to reveal hidden truths, and in the wrong hands it's power could be severely misused. exploring the scene of the theft reveals the thief is a camper, and they were headed towards the woods.

🏵️ someone has been stealing weapons around the camp. personal weapons, training weapons, and extremely dangerous weapons on display. you must find who's stealing the weapons and what they're planning to do with them.

Headcanons of how Cabins decorating a Sleepy Hypnos child's hair

Personally I believe that each Hypnos child has soft curly hair which makes it easy for other campers from other Cabins to decorate their hair out of boredom and it slowly becomes a competition between the cabins on which cabin does it the most and which style is their favorite, etc. and here's how each cabin can tell ~this was inspired by some IG reels and a post by @/clovis-enthusiast

**Side Note: I would say some staff of CHB join in to represent some gods to avoid any potential conflicts**

Cabin 1 -Zeus: gold metallic lighting bolts

Cabin 2- Hera: peacock feathers (I like to think Argus decided to represent her cabin and protect Hera's honor in a way)

Cabin 3- Poseidon: little orange starfishes (like the ones in the Aquamarine movie-2006) and seashells

Cabin 4- Demeter: wheat and flowers (they negotiated with the Aphrodite Cabin on which flowers- the ones that represent/symbolizes any type of love or have heart shapes-i.e. heart shaped forget me not flowers are only for the cabin 10 and ofc both cabins have a list of which type their cabins can use)

Cabin 5- Ares: plastic sword toothpicks and mini metal spike balls (which the cabin later had to change them to those spiky porcupine balls for safety because Chiron said so)

Cabin 6- Athena: owl feathers, olive branch crown, maybe ripped up papers with favorite quotes from books

Cabin 7- Apollo: guitar string flowers, ripped up papers with poems/ music lyrics, music note paper clips

Cabin 8- Artemis: silver little stars (they only participate when they visit CHB)

Cabin 9- Hephaestus: nuts and bolts, flowers made out of wires

Cabin 10- Aphrodite: butterfly/flower hair clips, bow hair clips, hearts, and flowers and honestly anything that the cabin sees that's fit and pretty (the cabin was also asked to tone it down just so to keep it fun for all cabins and ofc it's no surprise that this cabin goes all out)

Cabin 11- Hermes: wind-up chatter teeth toys or those fake insects

Cabin 12- Dionysus: grapevine floral crown with little grapes

Cabin 13- Hades: tiny skeleton heads

Cabin 14-Iris: little rainbow hair clips or anything rainbow related

Cabin 15- Hypnos: probably leftover pillow feathers if they're awake long enough

Cabin 16- Nemesis: mini balance scales (the Hephaestus cabin def helped make them just to ensure safety)

Cabin 17- Nike: laurel's leaves (Apollo cabin was nice to give this one up-also yes I did look up some symbols to represent each god/goddess)

Cabin 18- Hebe: tiny clay cups/mugs of any style

Cabin 19- Tyche: mini four leave clovers/ horseshoes (as she is the goddess of fortune, luck, and prosperity)

Cabin 20- Hecate: battery operated flashlights in shapes of torches

PJO PRIDE HEADCANONS (FEATURING CAMP HALF-BLOOD) Pt1?

The Apollo cabin is by far the one filled with the most lgbtqia+ members. They hold late night gossip sessions and will tease each other /relentlessly/.

Followup for above; Austin, from canonical characters, as the resident aroace sibling has the most blackmail on his siblings because of these sessions.

Camp Half-Blood has always been a safe place for lgbtia+ demigods no matter what time period (the gods have had lovers of both genders since ancient times + Chiron training Achilles & Patroclus). Members of the community were often year-rounders for this reason, because even if they died young they could be their authentic selves.

Drew Tanaka is on the aroace spectrum and when she was younger thought there was something wrong with her due to not falling in love like her siblings. Silena Beauregard is the one that helped her through it.

Annabeth has to be careful in the state of Florida because a camera caught her beating up a homophobe. (Yes, it was a mortal. She had gone with Malcolm as support for him to come out of the closet to his mortal dad and step-mom.)

Every year before Manhattan, Jake (Mason) and Michael (Yew) would risk getting eaten by harpies to stargaze on top of the Apollo cabin roof. After the Battle, Travis and/or Connor would help Jake get up there and let him stargaze for the night. Mysteriously, the harpies avoided the area as if they had orders to leave it alone.

Cecil is the biggest ally in camp, so much so that he says things no straight man would ever dare.

Cecil: "I'd kiss a guy to show my support."

Lou: "That's not how it works. Also, you're dating me!"

Cecil: "Yeah, but allyship Lou Ellen. Don't be homophobic during pride month."

Lou: "I'm literally pan!"

The Hermes cabin has a list with everyone's flags and are like pride flag fairies.

Clarisse was the first person Will came out to as bisexual. She found him crying by the lake because he didn't think he would be accepted. They got to talking and she told him she was bi as well. "Take a look around, Solace. Times are changing and we can like who we like. Hades, look at your own cabin. You guys may have a single straight ally in there, because the rest of y'all sure arent straight."

Katie and Miranda help everyone decorate with flowers and put bouquets together.

Mitchell and Valentina have a betting pool on which couples are going to 'do the most'.

Nico's first pride month is definitely interesting. He had no idea that the camp would be so accepting or that there would be so many others like/similar to himself. (He spent most of it in a state of shock and talked Jason's ear off over Iris message.)

The children of Athena are those that are envied. They push themselves to be perfect, and it works. It seems like they're on top no matter what life throws at them. May it be a blessing, or luck, or the fact that they miss sleep to succeed... these individuals are a Jack of All Trades, Master to All.

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰𝒔 𝑪𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒏 𝑺𝒊𝒙 𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒆.ᐣ

Cabin Six is an elegant blend of brilliance and order. Tucked a little away from the chaos of the louder cabins, it hums with quiet intensity; the kind of silence that says “we’re busy.” The building is designed with Greek symmetry in mind: perfect angles, slender columns, and olive branch carvings laced in silver along the entryway.

Inside, every book has its place. The walls are lined with shelves brimming with war histories, philosophy, star charts, and blueprints for weapons, machines, and cities that haven’t been built yet.

Each bunk is personalised, but always tidy. There are scrolls tucked under pillows, chessboards mid-match, and half-finished inventions waiting to be tested. The air smells faintly of parchment, steel, and cedarwood.

The sigil of the owl, Athena’s sacred animal, is etched into the floor at the center of the cabin.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒔/𝑨𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑨𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒂'𝒔 𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒏

"𝑷𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏" (𝑳𝒊𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒅): capable of viewing the world through an owls/serpent's eyes, as they are Athena's sacred animals.

𝑨𝒖𝒅𝒊𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒔 & 𝑴𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: They can memorize virtually anything, whether that be a chapter from a 5,000 paged hard cover, a note from a song that was played 5 years ago, or the sound of a bird. Nothing leaves their memory vault.

𝑾𝒆𝒂𝒑𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒚: coming in contact with an item and immediately know exactly how to use that item and what that item is for.

𝑻𝒆𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒔: can control weapons, although to a lesser degree than children of Ares.

𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒃𝒂𝒕 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒔𝒔: are excellent in battle since their mother is the Goddess of Defensive Warfare and Skill. They are beasts when it comes to planning.

𝑬𝒏𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆

𝑻𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒚: have the ability to read minds and the ability to send messages to other people's minds

Athena's children/offspring are highly intelligent, tactical, and make great leaders. People go to them for guidance; understanding homework, wanting to know how to play a certain thing, and literally what to do in a crisis. People look up to those in/from Cabin Six.

Camp Half-Blood Headcanons

Things that probably would happen at camp. (Also ik that its set in the 2000s but just ignore I wanted to include some newer pop culture)

They have a annual memory/yearbook for the summer 

Chiron will pick a few kids from different cabins and give them old film cameras to capture moments from camp

Chiron takes the “yearbook” committee  group into nyc for a weekend they develop the pictures and make a single yearbook which Chiron keeps a stack of in the big hall where any campers can look back at past ones in their free time

A few years back at the request of some summer only campers he has started scanning the books digitally and emailing it to campers/parents so everyone can have a copy

They take one big camp group photo on the last day of summer

 There’s a section at the end called “camps most likely to” and/or voted most ____

Here’s a few of them: 

Connor Stoll is most likely to win a pie eating contest

Will Solace was voted most helpful camper

Austin Lake was voted to have the best smile 

Cecil Markowitz was voted to have the best laugh

Alice Miyazawa was voted most likely to stay calm in a stressful situation

Drew Tanaka was voted best dressed (Piper and Leo still think that’s not true camp opinion and that the voting was tampered with)

Nyssa Barrera is most likely to shave her head

the stolls obviously sell contraband to other campers (snacks, weed, makeup etc) 

Apollo cabin has 1 of 2 CD players in camp. When their older siblings would go home for the summer they would burn CDs with requests from everyone in the cabin and bring them back the next summer 

The other one used to be in the big hall and used communally 

It got broken during an intense food fight, everyone blames Ares cabin because their the ones that flipped their table over 

The secluded area at the top of the strawberry field is known as the date spot for older campers 

Aphrodite cabin made an initiative to have the camp supply campers with sex Ed and started a bowl of condoms in the infirm for anyone to take 

Will Solace (and the other counsellors before him) will have dance partys to cheer up their younger siblings. like they'll just turn on music and jam n dance, they even have a specific CD for it. (Lee Fletcher started tradition)

Katie Gardner from demeter and Rachel Dare started baking as a new camp activity during free periods. They also teach about growing your own ingredients and nutritional value 

Hermes cabin (Travis probably) once tried to make slap ass Friday a thing, it didn’t end well.

Definitely at some point some older campers in Demeter were growing weed in the greenhouse and selling it to other campers (in partnership w the stolls who distributed it)

they were stopped after about a month or two by Chiron who was not happy at all 

Once Sherman yang became head counselor of Ares they all got matching pjs (I’m sorry I just love that idea)

Valentina and Mitchell’s from Aphrodite like to braid the mains of the Pegasus 

Athena cabin loves to compete amongst each other of who can do sudoku the fastest, do a crossword first or win scrabble

Clarisse used to take ares cabin on morning jogs everyday 

Once Hephaestus cabin built a giant nerf gun that shot meatballs 

Aphrodite cabin covers their walls in posters of fashion and pop culture icons like: vivienne Westwood, the devil wears prada, Marilyn Monroe, 10 things I hate about you, destiny child etc 

they’re currently obsessed with Sabrina carpenter. Lacy brought the CD of short n sweet and they’ve been listening to it non stop (Apollo cabin has been nice enough to lend them the CD player when their not using it)

A bunch of the younger ish campers were obsessed with the magic tree house book series (iykyk) because the camp had a box set in Ancient Greek (somehow?)

They thought it was cool how the magic treehouse was kind of like the human vs demigod world so relatable in a way

Kids from all the cabins would share them so they got pretty beat up but they were very well loved until the day the binding literally fell apart

For year round campers their end of school year Summative for social sciences (geography, history, Ancient Greek/english) they each research an event in American history then explain how it’s related to a specific god and the impact they had on the event 

They all present them and they can present the project in any form they want (an art piece, a speech,  a retelling of the event etc)

When campers go for their last summer they sign their bunks

After the battle of manhattan or a demigod dies before they get to turn 18 their sibling will sometimes write their names on the bunks for them

Once Aphrodite cabin snuck into other cabins during the day and hid a photo of Channing tatum's abs under the bed slats of all the head counselors

Everyone was just confused when they found this random photo months later  

 If you walk by the communal showers on Apollo cabins shower day and you’ll definitely hear all them harmonizing to baby by Justin beiber

Demigod Kids Always Win

Some demigods have godlike power or mastery over the mind, but others have more subtle abilities. These understated skills are among the first to present among demigod children.

And what do these divine young ones do with these blessings?

Win.

Whether it’s competitions, bets, or just a game, very few demigods lack a competitive spirit.

⚡️Zeus: best jump-roper, longest breath-holder, highest jumper

🌊Poseidon: best sandcastle builder, best paper boat-maker, fastest swimmer, deepest diver, best fisherman

🌾Demeter: most berries picked, prettiest flower crown-maker, coolest stick-finder

The demeter kids grow naturally mosquito-repellant plants around their cabin.

The hephaestus kids burn smoky varieties of wood to deter mosquitos.

The apollo kids use bug spray.

Zeus kids are like Lil fuckin bug zappers.

The satyrs are magically immune to mosquitos.

most aphrodite kids wear enough perfume mosquitos dont recognize them as prey. Except for piper, who does not know why she is the only person being eaten alive.

Athena kids have some kind of mosquito killing trap that they set using their own blood. Like mouse traps but for mosquitos.

Poseidon kids have super salty blood, so while they still get bitten, the mosquitos are like "bitch wtf" after

Dionysus' kids have such high blood sugar (from the Kool aid) any mosquitos that bite them get a sugar high

katie had always thought of herself as ordinary. nothing less, nothing more. if you were to ask her what she's confident in, she wouldn't be able to tell you off the top of her head. maybe her possession of a green thumb, but that's intuitive for a child of demeter. they weren't meant to be warriors and she had drilled that idea into her head and for the longest time believed her fatal flaw was cowardice. it was actually her self-doubt. lack of self-confidence. not quite inferiority, because she saw herself as capable enough, just nothing special.

for what she believed she did not have, she made up for it through her leadership. she was a natural, and her siblings adored her as their head counselor, but to her, kindness was the bare minimum. you weren't able to live a fulfilling life without a kind heart, first and foremost. so she was always willing to step into everyone's shoes, execute tasks here and there to keep things in order. she has a familial presence and takes on an reliable older sister role to many younger campers. all the while she'd never recognize the discipline and consideration that she always held, tenderness was just second nature to her. (more details under the cut)

a crucial part of her journey is finding her own courage and to not only be a leader to others but yourself, one that tends to your heart. a discovery of what it truly means to be brave, and how the word does not hold the weight of an end-all-be-all definition. moreover, she grows to feel strongly about breaking the stereotype that demeter kids are meant to be weak.

because of her ability to understand and read people well, many younger campers outside her cabin come to her for guidance.

in general, she's a very intuitive person.

despite the confidence she tries to uphold at camp due to being a counselor, she had always been very shy throughout her school years. she chose to become a year-round camper when she was 14.

she tried to keep in touch and stay close with her mortal family, but they don't return the effort. for a large portion of her life, she had believed that it was her destiny to be alone.

her displays of affection are through acts of service and gift giving, particularly handcrafted gifts or homemade treats, but her personal love languages are quality time and words of affirmation.

she's a creative person with many creative outlets that she incorporates into her day to day life; such as doing her hair and decorating her room.

she enjoys the arts; particularly, painting and crafting. there aren't any rules, and she views them as a way for one to keep themself grounded.

the way she dresses herself is largely influenced by bohemian fashion and she prefers to thrift vintage pieces. she also likes to collect jewelry.

in combat, she's most confident with knives. she likes that the target can be kept in close proximity with her.

her favorite bands are fleetwood mac, the corrs, and abba!

she chose to major in zoology due to her love for animals.
