What are the symptoms of dementia?
Dementia, a complex and progressive neurological condition, is characterized by a wide array of symptoms that can vary from person to person. As cognitive abilities decline, individuals and their loved ones often grapple with recognizing and understanding the signs. Delving into these symptoms is essential for early detection and effective management.
Memory Loss:
One of the most recognizable symptoms of dementia is memory loss. Individuals may struggle to recall recent events, forget appointments, or repeatedly ask the same questions. This memory impairment can significantly disrupt daily life and routines.
Difficulty Communicating:
Dementia can lead to challenges in communication. People may have trouble finding the right words, following a conversation's flow, or understanding complex instructions. As a result, they might withdraw from social interactions due to the frustration of being unable to express themselves.
Confusion and Disorientation:
Feelings of confusion and disorientation are common in individuals with dementia. They might become disoriented even in familiar places and times, leading to distress and a sense of helplessness.
Impaired Judgment and Decision-Making:
Dementia often affects an individual's ability to make sound judgments and decisions. This can manifest as poor financial choices, neglect of personal hygiene, or an inability to assess potentially dangerous situations.
Mood and Personality Changes:
Drastic shifts in mood and personality can occur. Individuals might become irritable, anxious, or depressed without clear reasons. Their personalities may change, making them exhibit behaviors that are out of character.
Loss of Initiative:
A lack of motivation or initiative is a less obvious but significant symptom. Individuals might neglect hobbies, activities, or even self-care routines they once enjoyed.
Difficulty with Complex Tasks:
Tasks that involve multiple steps or complex sequences can become challenging for those with dementia. Everyday activities like preparing meals or managing finances can become overwhelming.
Recognizing these symptoms early is crucial for obtaining timely medical intervention and support. While there is no cure for dementia, various interventions, medications, and therapies can help manage its progression and alleviate some of the symptoms.
Understanding the symptoms of dementia is pivotal for identifying and addressing the condition promptly. Memory loss, communication difficulties, confusion, impaired judgment, mood changes, loss of initiative, and struggles with complex tasks are all potential signs of this complex neurological disorder. If you or a loved one experience these symptoms, seeking a psychiatrist near you is essential. An early diagnosis can lead to better management strategies and improved quality of life for those living with dementia.

so somehow i got shingles AGAIN, this time with the tell tale rash and not zoster sine herpete. i had what i thought was a bad string of migraines for about 10 days then the rash popped up on my face/head. i got antivirals the next day which kept it from getting bad but i did get some blisters on my neck too. the face/head pain has been quite nasty, as well as the itching, the damn itching, it’s an itch that puts you in a bad mood and gets on your nerves (literally). i think my ear got hit a bit too, as it’s been itching like crazy and i get stabbing pains in it and i’ve had mild dizziness, mostly related to looking upwards or switching between looking at screens and irl objects (positional - signs of an inner ear issue). i’ve had milder neck pain that radiates into the shoulder a bit too. i finished my week of antivirals and i probably won’t get super bad like with the leg but i need to take it easy for the next several weeks…
BUT all this coincided with my aunt visiting and somehow i managed to drag myself to the harry potter studio tour in tokyo we already had non-refundable tickets for. that day ended with me leaning on her to get home since my leg just quit at the end (maybe i need a cane) and i discovered just how rough sensory things can be now due to all the stuff happening in my head/face area but it was still fun and i’m glad i didn’t waste the ticket.
but yeah, that’s why i haven’t posted in about a week
#i think all the new outbreak stuff will heal in a few months or so since i got the antivirals quickly#best case scenario re treatment and it’s still this shitty#the leg…who knows…may heal may not#it’s still mostly the same#the fact that i got it AGAIN is just insane though#6 weeks post the first round of antivirals#my memory T cells must have dementia#innko talks#chronic illness

There will be a documentary released soon by TMZ about Britney Spears “post-conservatorship” and i would humbly ask all fans of Britney Spears to NOT watch it. There is clearly a directed attack at Britney’s mental well-being taking place and it is with every effort to lock her in a permanent care plan.
The conservatorship was an illegal and unethical breach of her civil liberties and make no mistake, she is still locked in it. Court documents from mere months ago list her as conservatee and they are in the process of assigning a conservator again to lead her “care plan”.
Britney told us all with no ambiguity that she had every intention of suing every person who harmed her. She told us in her court audio and self posted audios to instagram that her family was “trying to kill [her]”. She had a book slated to release and tmz reported this past holiday that there was a “paper shortage” while the publisher released plenty of other books in the same time and now we’re learning that two celebs are attempting to block its release. At every stop they have silenced her right to speak and move freely.
For some reason we’re not seeing the real Britney out and about and now they’re claiming she’s not fit to hold knives?! They want full control of the person and the estate again and they plan to win it in the court of public opinion.
Boycott this documentary. Britney hates documentaries made without her say or her commentary, don’t let TMZ continue to spew this narrative when they are directly responsible for her suffering.
#britney spears#free britney#britney isn’t free#where is britney’s book?#even if she IS unwell this is not whats best for her#they claimed in court documents she had DEMENTIA#and then LABOR TRAFFICKED HER through a four year 7 night a week residency in vegas#britney had to perform during 102 degree fever she stated it on stage#britney wanted to move out of the mansion but all videos are from inside it?#and lou taylor her business manager registered the home as a CHURCH in court documents#this is all sketchy and she is being ABUSED financially physically and psychologically#also fuck EVERY PERSON saying oh my god she must be off her meds#do you KNOW what happens when you give lithium (LITHIUM! a first gen drug ONLY used in severe treatment resistant bipolar)#it can INDUCE PSYCHOSIS#it can induce zombie like states of compliance and dissociation#she needs a single doctor who actually has her best interest in mind#a doctor spoke at the dissolution stating that she does not meet a SINGLE requirement for a conservatorship#do not believe their bs britney isnt free or she would be in court SUING every fucking one of them

Lewy body disease: a complex dementia
Lewy body disease is a complex neurodegenerative disease that progressively affects cognitive function, movement and sleep. It is characterised by the presence of abnormal deposits of proteins called Lewy bodies in certain brain cells. These deposits disrupt the normal function of these cells, leading to a variety of symptoms.
What are the main symptoms of Lewy body disease?
The symptoms of Lewy body disease are varied and can change over time. Among the most common are
- Cognitive fluctuations: Intellectual abilities can vary considerably from one moment to the next, with periods of lucidity alternating with episodes of confusion or disorientation.
- Visual hallucinations: These hallucinations are often very realistic and can be frightening for the person experiencing them. They may take the form of people, animals or objects.
- Movement disorders: Similar to Parkinson's disease, movement disorders include tremors, muscle rigidity, slowness of movement (bradykinesia) and difficulty maintaining balance.
- Sleep disorders: People with Lewy body disease often suffer from REM (rapid eye movement) sleep disorders, manifested by agitated sleep behaviour, intense nightmares or nocturnal visual hallucinations.
- Behavioural problems: Mood swings, agitation, attention problems and conduct disorders may also occur.
How is Lewy body disease diagnosed?
Diagnosing Lewy body disease can be complex, as the symptoms overlap with those of other neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. Diagnosis is based on a combination of :
- The patient's medical history and symptoms.
- A detailed neurological clinical examination.
- Complementary examinations such as :
o Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI): to assess the structure of the brain and rule out other possible causes.
o Positron emission tomography (PET): to visualise protein deposits in the brain.
o Biological tests: to rule out other possible causes.
What is the treatment for Lewy body disease?
There is currently no cure for Lewy body disease. However, treatments can help to relieve certain symptoms and improve the patient's quality of life. Treatments are often tailored to each individual and may include:
- Medication to treat motor symptoms (such as levodopa for movement disorders) or cognitive problems (such as cholinesterase inhibitors).
- Psychological treatment to help patients and their families cope with the disease.
- Non-drug therapies such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy to maintain functional abilities.
