After a whole lotta tries, we finally beat Pokémon Insurgence's Main Story!
We're often told we need to carefully plan out teams when playing through fangames such as Insurgence, but I totes didn't wanna do that! It's more excitin' to just dive into it with a random team n' work out what the best strategy for a team is based on past failures.
Thanks to this, the only thing I did was look up how to find and catch each Delta Pokémon, cuz I love the Deltas! They're excitingly hype as anythin'! I ended up catchin' several Deltas through the story, with a whole box of 'em, but only used six for my main team.
I had the Fairy/Psychic Delta Venusaur, the Fairy/Normal Cake-form Delta Crustle, the Electric/Ice Delta Gardevoir, the Ground Delta Muk with Magby Regurgitate, the Ghost/Normal Delta Ambipom, and the Ice/Fighting Delta Scyther on my team! These ended up seeing me through some tough fights against opponents like Taen, Adam, and even Nyx's Inverse Battle! (Delta Gardevoir Boltbeam combo is WILD for that!)
That said, not everyone is gonna think we got through it with how tough Insurgence is, so here's our screenshot.
So, there ya have it! My little ragtag team of Deltas in the Hall of Fame of the Torren Elite Four! That's totes exciting, right? I'm hyped to try out the postgame in more detail! I already battle the Timeless and defeated all eight of 'em, so we're makin' our way to important Deltas in the Battle Frontier and Holon Region soon! Excitin!!
I'm proud of myself for makin' it this far!

got to hang out in minamo nature preserve all day with my buddy @wishmaker-astra and we saw all sorts of cool pokémon variants!
there are a lot of unique variants that are native only to this part of hoenn, like the shooting star zebstrika, the "fairygiraf" and its chimera counterpart, bighorn ampharos, fantail sceptile, echeveria venusaur, and rock lickitung
there are other variants that live here as well as in other places in hoenn, such as hoennic feraligatr, which are also native to the river delta down near bridgeport; strawberry swampert, which are common in any mangrove swamp; king pidgeot, which live in every mountain range across the country; and mossy onix, which can be found in forests and the jungle
feel free to send me asks about any of these--this is what i do for a living and i love it, so i could go on for hours!

Well, here we are.
The Torren Pokémon League.
It’s been a wild month. I started this playthrough at the very start of February, and this is the first time since I first beat the game, years ago, that I’ve made it anywhere near this far.
I’ve had a lot of ups and downs - I’ve tried out more than 12 team members, and considered plenty more... but in the end, I decided to stick with the team that’s seen me through most of the game, and it’s been that way ever since Amphitrite City.
Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce you...
to the Third Augur’s team.
First up is my starter, Io the Delta Venusaur! Named after the moon of Jupiter, this crystal frog has shone a light down the right path for the entire playthrough (bar one battle where we switched him out for Mew, and subsequently discovered that that was a terrible idea). He had to spend 12 levels not evolving so we could get Moonblast early, but he was an absolute champ during that time, and it more than paid off!
Our second member is a little unorthodox, but received through Wonder Trade as a Level 1 baby in Shade Forest - HiJack the Delta Volcarona! Named for the computer virus vibes, he packed a massive punch even as a Delta Larvesta, and he hasn’t slowed down since! His Ability being Levitate means he has no weaknesses, which is very useful.
Third up, Olympia the Marowak! Named for her mountainous resilience, and for the Olympic Torch, she’s consistently shrugged off confusion and paralysis, and hit back even harder, ever since Telnor Cave where we first caught her as a Cubone. There were times where I considered replacing her, but I can confidently say that I’m glad I didn’t!
Fourth on the list is Tungsten the Durant! Originally named Fire Ant, and much later after the fire-resistant metal, for the way he stood up to a Firebreather in Midna Mine all by himself (he did faint eventually, but he took down one Fire-type all by himself!). This boi is fast as fuck, and hits like a truck, and he’s more than earned his place on the team.
Our fifth fighter, Cleaver the Delta Scizor! We received her in a trade on Route 3 as a Delta Scyther, and she’s kept the name her original trainer gave her, because of the way she cleaves through enemy Pokémon with her Tough Claws Ability.
And the only team member we caught after Metchi Town, our last-second Safari catch, Lokharic the Feraligatr! Named after the Draconic writing system, Iokharic, he’s a ferocious beast that lives up to his name’s mighty meaning!
And the items shown here aren’t necessarily the only ones we have on hand - Io, Olympia, Cleaver and Lokharic all have Mega Evolutions that we can switch out between battles, depending on who’ll be the best against each Elite Four member.
This is it. The final obstacle standing between us and the title of Champion. Look out Torren, here comes Katie!

So I’ve been binge playing Pokémon insurgence and You don’t have to do this request but the Subway twins with a s/o who has a Delta Venusaur or Delta Lucario(I can’t pick and you can pick which one) you don’t have to do this request If you don’t want to by the way/gen/nf
Oh word-
I legit never heard of Pokemon Insurgence before. But after looking it up, I don’t regret my decision.
Like, look at them-
But oof, I’ll probably do both because they’re so cool- ;w;
Emmet
Omg, a crystal meth Pokemon and Anubis as a Pokemon. What has this world become to be- (well, this is the world of Pokemon so anything could happen-)
Okay, for real though, these things are pretty fascinating. He has never even heard of “Delta Pokemons” before. So this is a first for him.
He’ll probably ask where the hell did you even manage to find such Pokemons… The Holon region? He doesn’t understand your words, but that’s okay-
So, unlike his brother, he doesn’t want to fight them immediately. I mean, he does wish to try to battle them. But maybe not immediately, since that’s not exactly how you greet new people in your life-
I mean, he’s definitely excited to come across a new breed of Pokemons! It’s just… he wouldn’t immediately go fight them. Just having a normal peaceful conversation with them, if anything-
Ingo
… Never has he seen such Pokemons before! I mean, they’re clearly based on a Venusaur and on a Lucario. But like… where did you even get them-
… He can’t say that he has ever heard of “Delta Pokemons” before. But from what he can put together, it’s just a species of Pokemons with different forms from their counterpart. Like, the current Sneasels and the Hisuian Sneasels.
But still, he doesn’t know how or where you even got these forms from. And he’s a bit curious to ask since he literally hasn’t seen anyone else with these forms. Only you, for some reason-
He sort of wishes to have at least ONE battle with them. If they’re okay with that, of course! He just kinda likes to battle things that are new or challenging for him.
Now, he sort of wishes to explore the concept of Delta Pokemons more… wherever they came from, or course.

“Invasive” Grass-types
Invasive species have been touched on in the world of Pokemon, namely in the Alola region, but I feel like invasive plants have yet to be properly covered. So, I decided to toy around with the following variants of Grass-type Pokemon, inspired by real life invasive plants.
“Eurasian watermilfoil” Tangela and Tangrowth
Type: Grass/Water
This variant of the Vine Pokemon tends to prefer lakes, streams, and deltas over the dense jungles of the Kantonian version. The vines Tangela and Tangrowth are wrapped in are pinkish in hue and covered in delicate, feather-like leaves that collapse immediately when held out of water. Both of these variants love to let their vines (in Tangrowth’s case, including its arms) grow up to the surface, forming dense mats that block sunlight from reaching plants below. This turns the lake into a forest of swaying vines and little else. While individually these vines are weak and easily breakable, they grow in such quantities that any who would try to prey on these Vine Pokemon, or just remove them from the lakes they infest, quickly find themselves swamped by piles of heavy, wet vines. When fragments of these Pokemon break off, even tiny ones, they will quickly form roots and eventually become entirely new Tangela.
“Buckthorn” Sawsbuck
Type: Grass/Dark
This “invasive” Pokemon is one of the few variants that does not include its pre-evolution. These Season Pokemon begin as normal Deerling, until they come into contact with the tiny seeds of a vicious, unpleasant type of woody plant. These seeds quickly grow into the Deerling’s skin, irritating it to the point of causing uncharacteristic rampages. Once the Deerling evolves, the characteristic antlers Sawsbuck is known for are replaced with wide, bushy, thorny branches. The plant that now has completely bonded with the Pokemon pays no heed to seasons, only dropping its leaves in the absolute coldest part of winter. Armed with these new weapons, this Sawsbuck variant will seek out fights wherever it can, goring its opponent with its massive sharpened antlers. The only time it is not fighting is when the plant becomes laden with berries, making the antlers so heavy the Sawsbuck can’t lift its head. At that point it hunkers down in the undergrowth, leaving bird Pokemon to feed on the berries, thus spreading the influence of the dastardly plant even more.
"Salt Cedar" Snover and Abomasnow
Type: Grass/Rock
Unlike their polar and alpine relatives, this variant of Snover and Abomasnow make their homes in dry, arid, rocky areas of the world. They retain their snowy white appearance at first glance, but on closer inspection their pale complexion is due to a buildup of salt crystals on the outside of their dense wooden bodies. If left to their own devices, these Frost Tree Pokemon will send their roots deep into the earth, plumbing hidden pockets of mineral rich water to sustain themselves under a scorching sun. While they retain the water from their search, any dissolved salts will first coat them, then spill out onto the ground, turning the soil barren and preventing anything else from growing, Pokemon or otherwise. Removal of these Pokemon can be tricky, as not only can they utilize their long roots as whips, they can break off pieces of their jagged salty exterior and launch them like sling bullets.
"Water hyacinth" Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur
Type: Grass/Water
Hailing from the rivers and oxbow lakes of a tropical land, these Seed Pokemon spend very little time outside of the water. In fact, unless the rivers and lakes they live in completely dry up, they never really take root either. Instead of the characteristic bulb planted on the backs of normal Bulbasaur, a plant full of inflated herbaceous tissue is attached, allowing the line to gently float on the surface from the moment they’re born. As the Bulbasaur evolves to Ivysaur and then to Venusaur, the bloated plant sends up stalks that eventually bloom into brilliant purple flowers. The legs of these Pokemon have developed into broad paddle-like flippers, better suited to subtle adjustments than sustained swimming. What goodness they can’t get from the sun they can draw directly from the water, using small roots that grow from their bellies. Originally bred as living decorations, these Pokemon have gotten out of hand in the areas they’ve been introduced to. Each gas-filled branch that breaks off can become a new Pokemon, and since they never need to take root, they can often entirely cover the surface of even massive inland seas. What these Pokemon may lack in offensive power they more than make up for in tenacity and stubbornness, so complete removal is extremely difficult.
“Kudzu” Turtwig, Grotle, and Torterra
Type: Grass
One of the more infamous examples of invasive Grass-types, these Pokemon begin life as a Turtwig, a Tiny Leaf Pokemon, with a growth that looks like a tangle of shaggy vines more than the usual sapling. While this affords a small amount of protection, it also obscures the Turtwig’s vision, causing it to bump into trees and rocks, tangling its long vines into the surrounding landscape. Once it is nearly immobilized by its tangled vines and evolves to Grotle, the vines spread along every solid surface around it, engulfing anything standing still in a blanket of leaves. The immense amount of power that gets generated by its leaf carpet allows it to evolve to Torterra, normally a walking mountain, whose shell is entirely composed of tangled and compacted vines. Having mastered control over its plant growth, it is able to move from forest to forest, spreading its influence and gaining more power with every square meter it consumes. While the Turtwig and Grotle variants can usually be contained more easily, a fully grown Kudzu Torterra is a biome-level threat, towering over its less invasive cousin, requiring coordinated effort and no small amount of caution, as it is in full control over every vine that extends from its body. An unsuspecting human or Pokemon can quickly find themselves hung upside down by their feet when trying to push back an infestation, or completely blanketed by new growth.

fairy! for nicole :3
"An all fairy team? Well...."
"I wouldn't be me without Janis, so he would be a Sylveon....I'm pretty sure he almost evolved into one at one point anyways..."
"Glowey to, since mod gave me permission to use Pokemon from the verse I'm from."
"Mimikyu's are really cute, and learn a lot of moves. Spirit's had Drain Punch, which I wasn't prepared for."
"Delta Venusaur are pretty cool, and Lilith's is really powerful. Also the fact that they're some of the only deltas with gender difference, and a different gender ratio, is a point of interest."
"It Mega Evolves into a fairy type so it counts!"
"No ones actually seen it yet, but I read in a book about a delta Meloetta and it seemed really cool- actually I should ask Lilith if she has or at least seen one."

I just recently got a Delta Bulbasuar and was wanting to know how I could care for one or if it’s just as similar as the standard Bulbasuar?
ahh, i greatly apologize for taking a long time to get to you. I've been quite busy. yes, the caring for the delta bulbasaur line is slightly different than their normal grass relatives. specifically for delta bulbasaur, care doesn't vary too greatly. if you have a male its recommended to groom and keep clean the gems he has, though the one on his back isnt much a worry. this is the same for females, but females lack the vines males have. you still have to water your bulbasaur though, as the cover around their crystal is still plant matter.
ivysaur doesn't have much caring differences besides more frequent watering, but venusaurs cares are somewhat different.
you need to clean your venusaurs crystal daily to avoid grime and dirt, and your watering rate should increase more. its recommended to avoid cleaning the gem on their face though unless youre very careful, as the slighest nick or smudge could throw a venasaurs psychic powers off. try to avoid a certain gem loving gremlin being around your venusaur though, as they are known to try and break the crystal on venusaurs back. less importantly, please do not shave your female venusaurs 'clouds'. it can hurt them.

We've began playing Pokémon Insurgencelun!
We've been handling a playthrough where we only use the Delta Pokémonlun. I like the unique variant types each Pokémon has compared to their original selveslun! So far, we have a whole team of Delta Pokémon evolved quite well, and some unevolved Delta Pokémon remaining in our boxeslun.
This team has helped me obtain five badges so far, as well as take on dangerous legendary and mythical Pokémon such as Celebi, Kyurem, Kyogre, and an Armored Zekromlun! However, I do think the amount of specifically wet caves I've had to explore in this region is a little higher than most would typically likelun... Oyo...
This is our current team, but it is subject to some changes in the futurelun:
They're surprisingly powerfullun! Danny has a really amazing typing in that he's Normal/Ghost, so he's immune to Normal, Ghost, AND fighting moveslun! Three immunities is really helpfullun!
On top of that, Cotton Candy is capable of Mega Evolution into Mega Delta Venusaur, which has a fun appearance when she's the female formlun! Lucy is an absolutely adorable Gardevoir with her new Electric/Ice-type appearance and moves, being able to take down entire dragons, such as Armored Zekromlun!
I can't wait to continue trying to beat the following gyms, though I've heard Insurgence can be quite hard, so I'm really worried about the Elite Four and Championlun... If anyone knows more about Insurgence and Delta Pokémon, I'd appreciate teambuilding and moveset advice for the Elite Four and Championlun! It's been really fun so farlun!

Idk if you care for non official pokemon games but there's a fanmade PC pokemon game called pokemon insurgence and it has something called delta pokemon, which is basically just pokemon we know with types switched around so they look different, like delta Venusaur is a fairy/psychic type and has crystals growing out of it's back instead of a flower! It looks pretty fun and a lot of the deltas look really cool!
ive wanted to play pokemon fan games but have no idea where to look sdfjdfskjkj

How did your muse meet their first pokémon?, Do they own any proper starter pokémon? [Charmander, mudkip, etc], Does your muse have any special pokémon? [Shiny, different colored, different typed [Delta Species], breed variants, etc]
The pokémon headcanon ask meme!
How did your muse meet their first pokémon?
It all started during his faithful journey to the Professor’s lab when Red was ten years old. He was given a choice between Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. Red picks the Charmander since his father told him to grow up to be a man with warmth and fire in his heart. Red may have misinterpreted into that meaning “get a fire Pokemon” but still he loves his choise and has raised the Charmander into a strong adult Charizard.
Do they own any proper starter pokémon? [Charmander, mudkip, etc]
Red has all three Kanto starters and has evolved them into a Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charmander respectively.
Does your muse have any special pokémon? [Shiny, different colored, different typed [Delta Species], breed variants, etc]
He does have one of the strongest Pikachus ever. Also he has a shiny Butterfree.

Main line pokemon games have Nothing on the fanmade roms
I’ve been binge playing Insurgence and Holy Shit. The storyline. The levels. The Delta Venusaur (and Pidgeot but she’s just lovely). Mega Marowak!? The fact that i have 48hrs into it and i just got the 7th badge? (by this amount of time in an official game it would’ve been beaten, already gone through postgame, etc etc) There’s many side quests, delta species, and odd easter eggs. This whole cult thing, the Drama, the humor, the one guy who’s like “Don’t you know vaccines cause pokerus?” (which honestly. That’s a good side effect.) or the other one who’s sitting in a room filled with twenty gible telling you not to judge them (relatable). The multiple NPCs who are like “I’m so happy pokemon exist. I can’t imagine how boring and awful life would be without them.” And that one mentioned video game called ‘Humans’ which is literally just the real world.
If i had a recommendation, it’d be this one. Gaia is also pretty damn good. But THIS. There’s also the Nuzlocke modes, randomizers, difficulties (hard gives Every Trainer a competitive team and my god it’s intense, i went back down to easy after that and it’s still a decent challenge). Plus you don’t even need an emulator. It’s literally its own program. And with how most romhacks are inaccessible now due to some google files being unshareable without permission now, this one is still available.
I mean. Just look at these Delta pokemon. (All my pokemon are named after plants and plant genus btw)
And mega Marowak. It’s got the Parental Bond ability and there’s so many references to Cubone being the baby Kangaskhan carries and such. Marowak being my slow and steady tank in a team has been Upgraded. Her name is Echevaria btw. :3 I also have a Breloom named Psilocybe and i love her and her mushroomness. She literally kicks ass and beat the shit out of a groudon while being three levels under. Hell yeah. Mushrooms.
#taks speaks#if anyone wants a link to the download i got u#im so fucking obsessed with this game rn#btw there is a dark mode and in it. yes. people DIE.#there was a literal fight to the death and cult related sacrifices and such#i have yet to see a pokemon death but like two people are dead#i cant imagine what a nuzlocke would be like but Damn. It'd be quite something.#i was sold on this game just by the intro

Notes
Natsume is a witch, and quite a powerful one at that. So I tried to give her a lot of mythology-based Pokémon.
I also gave her an obscene amount of Shiny, Albino and Melanistic Pokémon because…well. She’s a Vessel of Victini. And Vessels of Victini have absolutely stupid luck.
Wow, she actually came out with more Ghost Pokémon than Psychic Pokémon. God damn.
