Original video lost, gifs by weightedplush (reuploaded by deletedstimgifs)
[Image ID: three gifs of a person trying of different shoes in a mirror. Each pair of shoes comes in a different colour but they're all the same shape. The shoes are matte with heels and they open at the top of the foot with ribbon tying them together. In the first gif, the shoes are black. In the second they're red. In the third, they're pink. The person modelling is wearing frilly white socks. There are blue flowers in the corner of the mirror. End ID.]

Hey there! I am the Gentle Sourcerer. You may call me as such, or you may simply call me by my name, Jacinth. My pronouns are they/them. I am 25 years old, and I was born on August 22nd. ^_^
I like to help stim blogs by finding misplaced or missing gif sources in stimboards. If you want a missing gif or gifs sourced, send it my way and I'll do my best to find it!
All gif makers, stim blogs, and anyone in the stim community may interact with me. I am a resource for all of you and I do not discriminate.
Follow the tag "the gentle sourcerer" to see all my important posts!
If you request my sourcing services through an ask, your answered ask will be tagged as "visitor: @/your username". If you ask on anon, it will be tagged as "anonymous visitor". This is for your convenience if you lose the post with the sources I have provided for you or if you simply need to refer to them again.
A tag I use, called "commonly misplaced gif sources" will contain popular gifs I find the sources of for others and for myself. If you have a gif you cannot seem to find the source for and you know it may be popular, please have a look in that tag. For a more finely tuned search, add a simple descriptive keyword to the end of "commonly misplaced gif sources", for example "slime", "resin shakers", "soap cutting", etc., as I do add one or two identifying tags for these gifs so they can be found more easily. I will only put sources in this tag that are commonly stolen or misplaced.
The same rules apply for the tag "found sources". This tag is a catch-all tag strictly for all sources I have been requested to find, common or not, mostly so I can keep up with them in the event I need to refer back to them.
If a previously undiscovered source is found by myself or someone else, the original post in which my services were requested will be reblogged under "gentle updates", equipped with fresh links to the gifset in question and/or the original source video.
Any gifsets I create to replace old or lost gifs can be found in the tag "jacinth's gifsets".
The tag "source lists" refers to stimboards I have found most of or all the gif sources for, usually on request of others. I sometimes will do this as a courtesy as well. For stimboards I have only been asked to find one or a few sources for, they will be tagged as "re sourcing" and "links", though the links tag is more broad.
In the event I find gifs that have been purposefully stolen, as in re-posted for notes while lacking credit, I will tag them as "stolen gifs". This does not apply to stim blogs typically, I use this tag mainly for non-stim focused accounts that re-post gifs to farm interactions or to act as note bait for their own blogs.
And for all other asks of the non-sourcing variety, I use the tag "kind visitors".
I use the tag "gentle discussions" to chat with others about problems or trends within the stim community. I also use the tag "gentle reblogs" for posts I made for other purposes that received a response from the sender to which I will have reblogged with a new response.
Two very reliable resources I use for finding deleted or deactivated gif sources are the blogs @deletedstimgifs and @old-web-stims. Please visit them if you're struggling to find a source you know has been deleted, and simply search the deactivated user's name in their search bar.
Thank you for reading!

Not exactly a request, but a question.
How do you get into making stimboards?, I kind of would like to try my paw/hand at it.
It's np! Stimboards look scary to make but I promise you they're fun to do.
As a disclaimer I'm on mobile rn so I can't get any PC screenshots- For posts with pictures I will direct you stimbaordboy.
-
The basics are:
You choose what you're going to base your board around
Type into the search bar "[stim type/color/ect] stim"
Find a GIF, but try and find the og post though because linking back to a stimboard isn't usually well looked at
Save the GIF and the source so you can credit
Save more GIF's
Open a post, grab the images and drag them so you can order them into a 3x3 gid (doesn't need to be 3x3 as a btw, PC let's you have up to 30 GIF's)
REMEMBER TO CREDIT ACESSIBLY, Meaning do not put the credits under a read more or say "credit to the owners" or crap like that
Order the credits via linking them on emojis, symbols, text, whatever
Have fun
-
Other tips and tricks:
Personally I would always make a stimboard on PC, on mobile I've noticed that GIF's lose their quality and look really grainy when they're looked at on PC (unsure why this happens more experimentation is needed) and it's easier to credit imo. HOWEVER I still encourage mobile users to make stimbaords. They're fun relaxing and no one really cares about this. Be yourself amd make whatever you like.
If you can't find a GIF because the op deleted there's a lot of archiving stim blogs on tumblr that can help you find the credit (stimboardboy, thegentlesourcer, deletedstimgifs, old-web-stims, stimgifarchive, stimlibrary are good blogs imo- If anyone knows of any else please lmk)
If you're just starting out with stimboard making don't jump instantly into psd making (or do. I can't stop you)

youre so good at stimboards. do you have any tips?
tysm for the compliment, I try my best! UMM for tips;
1. I usually put the gifs in a 4 inside of one color and 4 outside of another color format like this which I think looks nice
2. having a theming/type of gifs you’re looking for for that specific board. for example dragonfly mage reminded me of dnd mages so that’s why I chose dice gifs for half of that board and for velveteen rabbit I chose gifs of stuff that you’d be comforted by as a child like pacifiers, bottles, stuffed animals, and soft things
3. color is very important for making a board look nice! you should use colors that roughly match whatever you’re making a board for. you can also use ezgif to change the color of a gif but I usually only use it for gifs that don’t include hands so it doesn’t look weird
4. other stim blogs! I usually find my gifs my searching for them eg. "blue slime stim" but if that doesn’t turn up anything I like I search through the tags of some stim blogs I like (list under cut)
@/fuzzystims @/stimboardboy @/stimgifarchive @/deletedstimgifs @/helium-stims @/heartnosekid @/talos-stims @/sisterstims
#sorry if this doesn’t make sense I’m a bit delirious from hiking a bunch#also goes without saying that practice is a part of it#I’ve been making stimboards for 3 or so years at this point I think?#ask#asks

@catboy-on-main : Pretty awesome stimblog with lots of great boards! Also makes moodboards, aesthetic boards, selfcare kits, playlists and lots more stuff!
@calciferstims : Very cool stimblog with lots of cool stuff.
@talos-stims : Makes lots of cool gifs! It's stimboards and gifsets are awesome.
@soft-stims : Pretty cool stimblog! Makes some great stimboards.
@austim : Literally one of the best gifset makers AND makes some banger stimboards.
@glitteringstardust : Pretty cool stimblog! They have some awesome stimboards.
@helium-stims : Literally no. 1 gif provider for me. Have LOTS of gifsets and such.
@jesper-stims : Awesome blog with LOTS of cool stimboards especially more spooky stuff.
@rubystims: Makes awesome tech and liminal space stims!
@heartnosekid : Another awesome gifset blog! Have lots of gifs as well.
@nat-stimmy : VERY good stimblog with lots of liminal space and somewhat niche gifs.
@deletedstimgifs/ @stimarchive: Literally doing stimblr a service by sourcing gifs from deleted blogs and such! Absolutely awesome (and thank you for helping with the slight problem of people using gifs that lead to a dead url.)

Hello, gentle visitors!
I have a quick question for you all. I have been at odds with this idea for a week or so now, and I need some opinions from those that follow me.
How would everyone feel if I made a secondary blog to house all the gif sources / posts I locate? It feels quite clunky to keep both the gifsets and my re-sourcing posts on this same blog, at least to me. It feels as though reblogging the gif sources as well is cluttering up my blog and making the re-sourcing posts harder to find, for those that don't utilize my tagging system, and honestly for myself. If I do create this secondary blog, the link will be placed in my pinned post. Also, if the secondary blog is created, I will be more thoroughly tagging each post (as @/deletedstimgifs or @/old-web-stims do) to aid in finding lost gifs.
Do you all have any opinions about this? If so, please leave a comment or reblog this post. I appreciate your opinions!
-Jacinth, The Gentle Sourcerer.
