Will never understand the needless morality logic Stefan stans place around their love for Stefan (which only ever seems to exist to hate on Damon). I will always prefer a man that kills for an emotional reason over a man that kills just due to the lust to kill. Bloodlust is a desire just as much as “I killed him because I wanted to”-Damon always kills for humanity/emotional reasons. It’s just that stefan denies that bloodlust is a desire, while Damon admits his desire. Will always prefer a man that owns his flaws instead of denies them. I guess it’s my personal emotional bias, that denial of flaws imo is less redeemable than reveling in one’s flaws (Damon). Denial of flaws (and looking down on other’s) is the whole basis of the Christian white supremacist b.s. I’ve lived under my whole life.

Not only would Damon do anything to keep her alive, but he also doesn’t need her alive so that he can have her- he will love and protect her just as much as she is with his brother and doesn’t reciprocate his feelings. Stefan doesn’t try to keep her alive (“because she wants to place her life on the line and sacrifice herself”) AND needs to have her- he won’t love her, protect her or be there for her when she loves someone else. And people claim Damon is selfish and delena is the selfish love? Love is literally defined by wanting someone to live and be happy- to stay alive and be with who makes them happy. Stefan fails at the basic definition of love. It is not selfish to want someone to stay alive, but it is selfish to want someone alive so they can be yours. Which Stefan shows in trying to cure her “dead” state so she can “love him again.”
