young royals au where wilhelm doesn't chase after the car in the end of ep 6 but still abdicates and years later he's working in and office but he has a little apartment with a cat and plants and it's his and yet he can't help but think about how simon is doing and sometimes finds himself going to cafes and restaurants with table place settings for 2 and imagines simon across from him.

one of these times, simon comes in with a man on his arm. it's the first time wilhelm has seen him since hillerska and he still looks as beautiful as ever and wilhelm's breath catches in his throat. simon notices him immediately and hesitates, his face switching through emotions faster than wille can catch them before he slowly makes his way over to the table and they have a quick but genuine conversation, simon introducing his boyfriend luca and wille, pretending it doesn't kill him to see another person at simon's side, says he's also waiting for someone (he's not) and watches as more complicated emotions cross simon's face. simon asks wille how he is and he says he's doing just fine. before they know it, their conversation comes to a naturally end and simon slowly starts to retreat from the table with Luca. wille watches them leave until he can't anymore and looks down pretending to be busy with his phone just missing how simon can't help look back at wille, a wave of longing washing over him and needing at least one last look before leaving but clearly wille has also started to move on and he's with luca now anyways so he shoves the longing aside and leaves with one last glance behind him
