Here's another batch of questions.

Again, these do not include Domino or Phlox questions as I plan on addressing those in a separate post. Sorry for the delay on Phloxino questions, I just need to finish the final chapter of their story first.

PERSONAL/MISC ASKS

toonfan91 asked: What is your favorite retro video game system, what would you say is your favorite retro game to play?

A: My favorite consoles would be the Super Nintendo, Gamecube, and the Gameboy Advance SP. Those are all so nostalgic for me and were integral to my childhood. I had the Sega Genesis as well but I didn't end up playing it nearly as much as the other 3. Top three of my favorite retro games would be Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Ms Pacman and Super Mario World.

Anon asked: omg! i wondered if cheese was just something you were super about in your teen years im so glad that cheese is still the #1 fave 🧀

A: Hahaha! Aww, you remembered that about me! Yes, I'm still a cheese fiend, forever and always!!!

Anon asked: Any writing tips and/or subversions on common tropes? - ✍🏻

A: I've said this before but I recommend really focusing on your character building. I personally believe if you can get the audience to care about your characters, the rest will work out. As far as subverting tropes, I'd just say don't default to what's easy. I remember writing a script in high school and it involved a "it was all a dream" ending and my teacher actually rolled his eyes at me and said "Don't do this to your audience. It's an easy out for you and a disservice to them" and that moment has stuck with me forever. So though I don't have exact advice for you, I'd just say keep your audience in mind. You want them to be happy that they read your story, not rolling their eyes. (You're a member of your audience too, so make sure you're happy with your story as well!)

Anon asked: Will your kid be named aroura?

A: Ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted to name my future daughter Aurora. Who knows if I'll ever have a kid and even if I do, I am not sure what their name will be. Aurora is definitely still one of my favorite names and I'd love to name my child that, but it will depend on what best fits that human :)

Anon asked: have you seen the until dawn remaster?? i know you did a drawing of that long ago!! have you ever drawn the actual characters? and also, how would you match the sonic characters to the until dawn characters? 😳?

A: I have seen the remaster but I haven't played it! It looks like such an improvement from what I've seen, and I honestly loved the original. I drew Ashley and Chris once, but for the life of me I can't find that file! It was so long ago, it probably wouldn't look any good now anyway haha. Hmm, it's a little hard matching Sonic characters to the Until Dawn characters without making them OOC. I guess if I had to pick, and with the caveat that this is a weird AU and characters are not 100% canon-accurate, I'd cast Amy as Sam (kind, gets along with everyone, doesn't like violence but can absolutely kick ass), Tails as Chris (because of his intelligence, his love for tech and his overall positive, good-natured spirit), Rouge as a mix of Jessica and Emily (covers the bases of intelligent, seductive, resourceful). I'm torn about casting Sonic as either Josh or Mike. Josh would of course be an unhinged version of Sonic which could be fun to explore but if you ignore the unhinged part, he still really suits Sonic as he is the core of the friend group and he is torn between fun-loving and masking his real emotions. Mike I feel like is a little more of the 'lead character' role that Sonic tends to fall into and his fear of commitment is pretty spot-on to our blue boy hahaha. Knuckles would be Matt because they're athletic and loyal. I'd probably choose Blaze for Ashley because of how polite and serious she can be, but I acknowledge it's not the best fit.

A: I don't own an official Sonic minifig yet. All I have is this cursed knockoff hahaha. One day she'll have a real Sonic for her to love.

MISC SONIC ASKS

Anon asked: What elements could the Sonic cast bend based on their unique traits?

A: Sonic would be air because he is the wind. Tails would be lightning due to his affiliation with technology. Knuckles would be earth, obvious reasons (though fire works too, especially if you take into consideration the flames of disaster haha). Amy would be fire, due to her passion and also if you read her fortune cards guide, she says her favorite of the elements in her deck is 'fire.'

Anon asked: Quick question, have you ever read the Archie comics? If so, what’s your opinion on scrouge?

A: I'm not a fan of either.

chrismantike asked: I’ve been seeing this debate a lot everywhere and I want your expert opinion on it. Since you do know about DBZ I was wondering if you think Sonic can actually beat Goku?

A: I'm always going to go with Sonic on this debate. He's defeated monsters, deities, A KILLER MOON?! He can defeat most enemies in his normal state but when he goes super, enemies don't stand a chance. Meanwhile how many times does Goku need to 'level up' his Super Saiyan form just to fight an enemy? (this is all in jest of course) Hedgehog wins.

Anon asked: do you like team chaotix? If so, who’s your favorite character??

A: Team Chaotix is not my favorite group haha. If I had to choose a favorite amongst them, it'd be Espio. I think he's funny even when he's not trying to be.

whiteghos asked: Can you summarize (if you can) what happened in TEIU by Kbspeeding? I wanted to know what happened before lil’ rory and Shadow got all dirty and beat up and what happened during that chapter. I really wanted to read it so if you can that’ll be great!?

A: I sincerely wish I could, but "The Evil In Us" was so long ago that I don't remember the details well, and KB deleted her account and all of the pages of her fic with it, so I haven't been able to reference it in ages. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Anon asked: How would you imagine Amy in her teen years? -✍🏻

A: I already picture Amy as we know her as a teenage Amy. Especially her in Sonic Boom, I think that's a teenage/young adult Amy.

MY OCs/AU ASKS

Anon asked: I have this question on my mind for awhile now, how did you make or come up with and Amy’s and Aurora’s clothes designs? They are amazing ☺️☺️

A: Well that's an incredibly kind thing for you to say! I honestly don't feel like I did that great of a job with Amy, I just put her in clothes I'd like to see her in haha. I wish I had put more thought into her outfit but I can always redesign in the future. With Aurora (and any of my OCs, really) I just experiment with things until I figure out what works. I try to first get into the mindset of the character and determine what fashion trend best suits their personality, and then I'll do research on that style and then try to come up with something based on that. Aurora's style is on the spectrum of "Eclectic" and "Fun" and "Funky" fashion trends, so her outfits are based on that. If you're curious, I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to my AU and there are sections for the different characters' fashion!

Anon asked: Are you going to make more ship/fan children one day, or will you just stick with Tumble, Ruff, & Aurora??

A: Methinks you've forgotten the other 8 fankids I've made! But that's okay 😜 I love creating characters and I have no plans on stopping that any time soon. That could be OCs that aren't related to anyone, OCs that are the parents of characters we know, or fan children. I don't know what I'll be doing next, but there will definitely be more new characters in the future.

A: I think you're absolutely right! :) I think Amy might also be a fan of Ranma 1/2 as well. I'm not all that current with anime so I can't make many more recommendations that suit them.

A: I have a script for a comic that involves CC and Cream interacting, I just have to get around to drawing it. As far as Tails' past crushes like Zooey, CC is very jealous so ... she wouldn't handle it well lol

twistedchaos101 asked: Does Aurora know her grandparents? How is the relationship with them?

A: At this time, Sonic does not know Phlox is his dad and Domino is deceased, so to their knowledge Aurora does not have grandparents on her dad's side. Aurora would know her Grandma Lulu and Grandpa Clay, but Amy is sort of estranged from them so they aren't a major part of her life. They're the kind of grandparents that send a ton of gifts on holidays and birthdays but only visit maybe once ever few years. She loves getting to see them though and they absolutely adore her!

abbysulf asked: Has there ever been a moment where Sonic went dark to save Aurora? Like, was she in so much danger that he would risk his mind and body to save her? And not from Shadow lol

A: In my AU's canon, there hasn't been any moments like that. I like to joke about Sonic turning dark any time he's even mildly upset, but I don't mean it seriously. And as Aurora was growing up, he kept Aurora so safe to the point it was almost smothering, so she wouldn't have ever been in any real danger. But if she were to ever have her life threatened, yes he would lose himself in order to protect her, without hesitation.

Anon asked: We all know Sonic and the gang for saving the world in their world and they have alot of fans but what about in your story? Are they famous and their fans are surprised when they heard that Sonic and Amy got together and had a child same with Rouge and Knuckles but they adopted instead?

A: Even in my AU, Team Sonic is famous. Not to the point where they're like celebrities and have paparazzi following them everywhere, but the average citizen knows who the members of Team Sonic are and some people do get kind of starstruck around them. As they all reach older adulthood, Sonic and Amy's lives get a little more calm and domestic so they are less in the spotlight compared to Tails who is the CEO of his own company and Knuckles who is running the Young Heroes program. Maybe the average person might be surprised that some of their heroes ended up getting married and having their own families, but again I don't picture Team Sonic's personal lives in tabloids regularly.

Anon asked: I actually wanna know how well Aurora takes shots (At the doctors)from a baby all the way up to a young adult

A: Aurora sure wouldn't like shots, but she's never necessarily been scared of getting them. If anything, I could see the DOCTOR being more afraid of giving her a shot. Imagine both Sonic and Amy giving the doctor the death glare with the unspoken threat of "You better get this done quick and if you cause any extra unnecessary pain, we will both end you." They've got a good routine down where Sonic distracts baby/toddler Aurora until the shot happens and then both he and Amy quickly smother her in hugs and kisses and praises so she is only upset for a brief moment.

Anon asked: Why does Sonic spy on Shadow and Aurora when they go on a date or when Aurora visits Shadow's house?

A: Sonic is an overprotective dad and he doesn't like the idea of Aurora dating anybody (even though she's a grownup). It doesn't matter who she was dating, he doesn't think anybody is good enough for his baby girl. He spies to make sure they're not getting into trouble (it's just for the sake of comedy, don't take it too seriously).

A: She has! I've drawn them together in their super forms before :) She thinks he's an angel

Anon asked: Has Shadow told Aurora about who Maria was in your continuity?

A: Absolutely. Maria played a very important role in his life, so of course he'd talk about her. The grief will always be there but with time and by becoming more comfortable opening up to Aurora, he finds it easier to reminisce on the good times he had with his sister.

Anon asked: How did Sonic and Amy react to Aurora and Shadow having 8 children like I just imagine *first born* "Oh my goodness congratulations!" second born still happy. At the 8th their like "Wow... Rory that's um great... Lots of grandkids.." So yes that's how I imagine it going but how about you, this question has really taken over my mind. 🤣❤️❤️

A: Hehehe, 8 grandchildren is definitely a lot. BUT! I headcanon that Mobians are a bit more like animals than humans are, so the idea of 'litters' isn't totally foreign (though maybe not as common in modern day Mobius). In my AU, Shadow and Aurora have three litters (so far, hehehe) so it went 3 kids, 2 kids, 3 kids, so they weren't exactly expecting to end up with 8 children, but they're happy all the same. I think Amy would be over the moon no matter what. Sonic would love all his grandkids and be excited about all of them, but also I'm sure he'd be secretly laughing it up at how chaotic the Shadora Home must be at all times and he's just glad that he and Amy had it super easy raising their only child. Plus I could see among friends and family there's an ongoing joke of "So... Aurora, Shadow.... How many next time?"

kkrucy asked: What your opinion on other ships then sonamy?

A: There are plenty of ships that I like and there are plenty that are not for me. I don't like to announce the ships I don't like, there's no good in doing that. Some that I like include (but are not limited to) KnucklesXRouge, Shadamy, Sonadow, SonAmyShad, MetAmy, VectorXEspio, KnucklesXAriem, RougeXTopaz, WhisperXTangle, Dr.RobotnikXAgentStone (from the movies), SilverXBlaze, I even like BlazeXRouge if I'm being honest (You can blame TMOSTH for that!)

scaredforcewielder asked: I know it's a bit early, but would you consider doing Sonic and Amy's first Christmas as a couple?

A: I know I did it off-season, but I already made a several Sonamy comics for Christmas this year. I always want to draw more Sonamy and I would love to draw their first Christmas as a couple, but honestly I don't know that I'll have the time to do that this year. I hope those mistletoe comics helped to tide you over!

dean-alice-rose asked: What is your favorite sonmy moment? And it can be in your comics or official. Also what is your favorite comic that you made?

A: Gosh, it's really difficult to pick a single favorite Sonamy moment! If I had to narrow it down to just a few... One would definitely be episode 52 of Sonic X where Sonic returns to their planet and he and Amy have that heart to heart. I can't tell you how many times I've watched that scene, I found it to be the epitome of romance even as a kid! A small moment that actually meant a huge deal to me was in The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, where Sonic calls Amy "radiant." It's just one line, but wow, what a magnificent compliment! That's way more powerful than simply calling someone 'pretty' or 'great' in my opinion. I have too many favorites, I could go on forever haha! I don't really have a favorite comic that I made, they all mean a lot to me. "My Gal" is maybe what I'm most known for and that's great because it was so personal and I poured SO MUCH of my heart into it. But I have fond memories of every single comic I've made and each one has helped better my writing and drawing, so they're all special to me no matter how silly or serious they are.

Anon asked: In the future, would there be a chance to see CC and Tails again? I always adored CC and loved her design, plus her relationship with Tails. I was just curious as to if you had any future plans for them?

A: Definitely! I have plenty of ideas for them, I just need to dedicate the time to drawing it out. I'm so happy you enjoy that pair so much!

Anon asked: What are your thoughts on Metamy? (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)

A: I ship it! It's not at the top of my list but I still think it's super cute and no matter what, I've always had the headcanon that Metal has feelings for Amy (he's meant to be like Sonic, after all, so if I believe Sonic likes Amy then surely Metal would, too!)

Anon asked: Do you ever compare video game couples to each other? - ✍🏻?

A: Of course, it'd be impossible not to. Personally I relate Sonamy to NathanDrakeXElenaFisher (Uncharted) the most out of all video game couples. Both pairs have an undying love for adventure and enjoy traveling the world. Elena/Amy are definitely more cautious and careful than Nathan/Sonic who're a little more gung-ho, but in the end they make a great team and can keep up with one another.

A: I always say that Amy is the physical embodiment of love, and because of that I think ALL the love languages suit her! She expresses her love in every way possible and I'm sure she'd be happy to receive it in any way Sonic is willing to give it 🥰 It makes sense to me that Sonic's would be Quality Time and Acts of Service. Sonic always loves to do his own thing, so whenever he's willing to spend his time with Amy (whether it's grabbing dinner with her or even if it's just sitting in a pile of hay with her), I think that says a LOT. I don't think Acts of Service requires explanation.

A: This is hard to narrow down and I feel like love languages fluctuate. For now, I'd say they both share the love language of Physical Touch. Individually, Aurora leans more towards Words of Affirmation and Shadow is Acts of Service.

Anon asked: Are you gonna make a full comic on Shadow and Aurora first date like you did with Sonic and Amy?

A: I'm not 100% sure if it will become a comic. I definitely have a fic in mind, and maybe I'll do some supplemental drawings to go along with it. Sonic and Amy's first date was 'easier' because Sonic and Amy already have an established history. Shadow and Aurora have to get to know each other before they start dating, so it'd be easier to accomplish in a fic rather than a comic. If you haven't seen it already, I did write a summary of their first date.

Top 20 2021

My Favorites (updated)

Hello my readers, it’s been a while since I just posted something not related to a headcanon and I am doing one right now. I just wanted to take a bit of a break to just get SOMETHING on here on my days off work. Plus I’m just trying to find my groove when it comes to writing again so hopefully this helps me just get back into the mood of making a post more often lol. I wanted to revisit this topic for a while just because we’ve had a lot more events and a lot more alts in the game were added. And I know for a fact LifeWonders reads these posts in some capacity because I have meme’d an AR into the game with my top picks from the last list I did for Christmas 2019. No I didn’t. I’m just joking around and I know LifeWonders doesn’t read this.

Anyways rather than just make up a list on the spot like last year I decided to use the Housamo Sortmaker (Link: https://club.housamo.xyz/sortmaker/ ) to try and make a list that’s more revealing to what I was thinking at the time. Since I talked about 20 characters ish last time I’m just gonna read from my 20th place to my 1st place spots and try to justify whatever I was thinking at the time. Anyways-

20: Marchosias and Susan: This one was a surprise for me if I’m being honest but I’m just gonna blame the fact on Shukou’s recent involvement with LifeWonders in the form of Live A Hero and how Ryekie and Mokdai live in my headspace rent free whenever I think about the characters in that game. Maybe we can see about getting some LAH headcanons since that’s a LifeWonders property too). So out of all the characters Shukou drew for Housamo why did I pick Marchosias? Easy, it’s been 4 years and this poor man has yet to receive a proper alt or any kind of skin for that matter and I think that it’s a crime. Sure he’s not my favorite but he’s definitely grown on me because he’s just a gentle dad kind of character and his design has grown on me over the years. I just hope he doesn’t get left behind since he has a lot of really interesting and potential things to look forward to in the future given how the main story has unfolded.

19: Shiva/Algernon: The helmet heads are together because DAI XT quickly became my favorite artist for Fire Emblem Heroes and I really just like their designs. DAI XT just knows how to draw robots, armor and muscles well. Also Chapter 11 with Shiva you can read into some interesting perspectives. I don’t want to spoil any of the untranslated content for anyone who’s waiting for the official english translation. But if you are curious Roureem has a blogspot where he posts summaries of the newly released events.

18: Cthugha: I love this goober so much. He’d constantly try to act super sentai just trying say good morning everyday. He may not be very bright but that just adds to his charm and honestly I enjoy how he always tries to play the hero in a lot of scenarios because it’s refreshing when they implement him after a bunch of heavy hitting story stuff. I’m not gonna spoil too much about it but I will say he’s more than welcome after everything Chapter 10 and 11 put the reader through.

17: Mineaki: I’ve made a post about him being one of my least favorites way back when I first started this blog and let me just say how times have changed and I’ve learned the value of not judging a book by it’s cover. I still think there’s something a bit off about Kowmei’s style for his characters, but Mineaki has definitely grown on me. He’s a caring instructor who does watch out for his students even if it’s not always in the most direct way possible. Not to get into too many spoilers he’s got a lot of intrigue around him as well and I am curious to see his role get expanded down the line.

16: Ded: Housamo is the reason I really like christmas. The Christmas stories despite following a similar structure to each other do tend to be my favorite stories. Ded himself is also just another good dad character. He’s also two guys for the price of one, so I mean… you know… you’ve got the forever ask your other dad situation. There wasn’t much thought put into this choice I just like santa as a concept because I think the outfits are cute, it’s always nice to get something for people you care about on Christmas and Ded is the perfect embodiment of both sides to Christmas.

15: Shinya: Everyone we need to manifest buff Shinya for 2021, this is not a drill. This is legitimate. We must make Taromati’s and my wish come true. To be more serious again he’s just a sweet and gentle character. He’s also drawn by my favorite Housamo artist. Their characters always just look so naturally good. I’m just surprised he hasn’t gotten much of an alt given he’s perfect material for Valentine’s day. He’s just a soft boy and I would love for him to be in more things because I just enjoy seeing him.

14: Jacob: I have to be honest Jacob is on here because every time I look at him he just gets more handsome to me. I wasn’t all that impressed with his introduction and we don’t know much about his background but I’ve just been drawn to him more and more. Maybe it’s just because he’s drawn by GomTang? I just like looking at him and I can’t help it. To speak a bit less crass he’s another gentleman kind of guy and those are always nice.

13: Shennong: Yeah I like the doc a lot. Firstly, I’m a huge sucker for big bulls and Shennong fits the bill. The white fur really adds to his appeal visually and the purple horns give off a bit of an unnatural appearance. Shen feels like someone who’s been touch starved and alone for a long time given how he acts as a character and when we actually hug him I just lost it. He always has others well being on his mind so he’s not afraid to jump in and help, or give a much needed lecture about when you need to take better care of yourself. He just comes across as very well balanced overall.

12: Heracles: I won’t lie- at first he didn’t interest me much. He looked incredibly plain when among the rest of the cast and he seemed like the typical “bait” character since the banner had Echo, Barguest, Gyumao and Snow. But after reading the translation for Valentine Time Slip I was taken aback at how much of a gentle giant he turned out to be and I just really liked his interactions with the others in that event. And honestly his special quest from that year was one of the more unique ones given the slower pace and more romantic vibe it had. After the event warmed my heart I did a complete 180 and I just knew I really liked him.

11. Yasuyori: Before I start praising him I feel I have to justify why he didn’t quite make top 10 and it will have some mild Chapter 10 spoilers. To be as vague as possible his resolution just didn’t vibe with me at the end of Chapter 10. Like it wasn’t a bad resolution and it was the right choice to make but in my opinion there really wasn’t a moment I felt was clear where he made a choice for himself. Everything just sort of happened around him and it felt like he didn’t really do much to improve his situation. To an extent I kind of see that being the idea given his origins and the story he’s based on and there is some semblance of him coming to terms with himself alongside his isolation being portrayed pretty well, but I just wasn’t satisfied with it as much as I would like to be. With that out of the way, oh my god I just want this boy to never stop smiling and I just want to give him hugs constantly please he just deserves to be happy!!! Yasuyori is a character who’s got a lot of baggage and he’s just trying to find ways to properly cope with his trauma and not repeat past mistakes and I just really like that idea. His role in Xmas 2020 (sorry I just forgot the name of that event, but its when he gets his alt) was a much better representation for his character in my eyes. I’m not gonna spoil anything like I keep saying but he isn’t one to disappoint in future appearances and I just hope this lovable lug keeps getting the support he deserves.

10: Hephaestus: A spicy way to start the latter half of the list. I just want to give this lad a hug and tell him he is worthy of love. But at the same time he is a little shit… and I love that. I can’t fully explain why I grow a paternal instinct in me seeing this grown man sob about his mother but I just do. I want to keep him safe and give him all the affection he wants. Though I am aware a lot of Hephaestus’s interest in his parental figure is… questionable. I am just gonna say I would accept his love for what it is and he just wants approval.

9. Shuten: I’ll be honest I have no proper reason for why I like Shuten so much. He’s just a cool and reliable guy. He just seems like a go with the flow kind of person most of the time and he’s a bit more direct than most of the characters which I always appreciate. Plus I have an unspoken bias for naop guys in Housamo.

8. Durga: While not number 1 on this list, I still really like Durga. She’s quirky but not to an annoying degree, she’s determined and definitely very confident in her own abilities. Her growing to be more sociable throughout her events is something I enjoy seeing because it really creates this sense of growth.

7. Kyuma: I get a lot of people don’t like Kowmei’s art but I really think we should look past it because Kyuma is one of the sweeter picks. He’s someone who just wants to prove himself for his own worth and not what David can provide, but David is part of him and it just creates the potential for a good arc. Plus this boy is unintentionally smooth and will just take your heart when possible. I honestly want to see Kyuma more in events because he’s honestly the jock that carries 3 of the 4 brain cells. He’s also the last one without an alt so I’m just hoping he gets one in 2021 because he really deserves one in my opinion. (Also fan art makes him really cute).

6. Tomte: Tomte is relatively new but honestly his event in 2019 really endeared me to him. I’m trying to be spoiler free because the best way to enjoy these stories is for yourselves but let me just say his arc in the event was really endearing to me and much more than I was expecting. His fan service is also incredibly hammy and I love it. Visually Tomte is one of my favorites, I love his multi colored hair and starlit pupils cuz it makes his otherwise more generic look have some flare. I knew I liked him out the box and when I read about him in the summaries and can’t wait to read the official translation for him. I was just very endeared.

5. Tetsuya: Tetsuya fucks. Moving on…

Jokes aside this one’s a bit simple. I have no shame in admitting I think he’s attractive and his whole resistance towards wanting a relationship is cute in a weird roundabout way. When he says no I just want it MORE. I just really like duo haired tsunderes.

4. Kengo: Kengo 3rd alt 2021. Please LifeWonders I need my favorite Summoner. He’s a bro and that’s what counts. Kengo has got your back, not afraid to rely on you, a very fun and dynamic guy. Sure he’s not that bright when it comes to making plans or any book smart, but there are times where he’s the best at being able to read the room or just understand what someone needs to hear even if it isn’t always what someone wants to hear. His bullheaded nature is actually one of his redeeming qualities because it’s nice to just not overcomplicate things and just understand what’s actually going on. Yes the early story didn’t do many favors for him but to me the events, especially the later ones, do much more work for his character. To me, at least.

3. Ashigara: Ashigara is best bear, and I will defend that stance in 2021. The main thing that draws me to Ashigara is that I can see a bit of myself in him. He gets very emotional when he gets left alone, he’s very loud when with his friends, has a tendency of speaking his mind- just someone who wears his heart on his sleeve. I also appreciate that in spite of the negative he isn’t someone who backs down when the going gets tough and in a few instances he’s able to hold his ground physically at least.

2. Wakan Tanka: Love at first sight. This ray of sunshine still persists as the number 1 husband, but number 2 character. Firstly I am a huge fan of the partial beast aesthetic. The buffalo ears and the horns are absolutely adorable. Secondly he’s a perfect body type; he’s not too muscular but not exactly flabby. Third he is just so positive and I love that. He’s someone I admire and wanna hug.

1. Taurus Mask: The more things change the more they stay the same. I’m still a big Taurus Mask fan for all the same reasons as last time. I just… relate to this boy. He is an incredibly shy boy who uses his public persona for confidence. Maybe I’m reading too much into it but it’s like we’re soul bros!

So yeah, my tastes haven’t changed in a year and a half.

Chapter 4: Sworn Enemies

Nino wanted to scream.

No, he didn't just want to scream. He did scream. And he screamed out of pure rage. He screamed as loud as he could, so loud he was almost positive the Coral Crew could hear him.

They better have, because their boat was no more than half a mile away.

"Why are they here?!" he shouted in unadulterated fury. "What are they doing?! They shouldn't be here!"

Adrien lifted a telescope to his eye and hummed thoughtfully. Of course he was irritated as well but he tried his best not to show it. His eye landed on the other boat's unmistakable flag: an underwater treasure chest filled to the brim with coral. He spotted a pink-haired pirate just underneath the flag, searching the seas with a telescope of her own.

He lowered the telescope and blinked. Pink hair? Peculiar.

Nino growled again, squinting at the boat angrily. "We have to do something...we can't just let them wander this close to what we've been sailing after for 5 days!" He asked Adrien for the telescope and gave the other ship a good inspection of his own.

"What do you suggest we do, cap?" Luka asked from Nino's other side.

Nino lowered the telescope and smirked. "I think I have a plan..."

The sound of rushing water was the only thing Nino could hear, and he was clutching onto his turtle for dear life (yes, he definitely felt like he could call it HIS turtle now) as it sped through the water. Did he trust that this turtle would lead him to his destination? Absolutely. Was it weird that he believed so? No. Absolutely not.

Besides, they were heading in that exact direction, anyway. When Nino told this sea creature to take him to this destination, he could've sworn there was a knowing glint in it's eyes.

Nino figured this was the best way to sneak onto the enemy's boat unnoticed. Not to mention it sounded pretty cool...not everyone could say they've ridden a turtle across the sea.

After moments that felt like seconds as well as hours, what with how long Nino had to hold his breath, they finally reached the edge of the boat belonging to the Coral Crew. He panted as he placed his hand upon the wood before looking up and sneering. He was so close.

Nino grabbed a rope hanging off the side of the boat, what reason it was there for he did not know nor did he care. He pat the turtle on the head before hoisting himself up and climbing as quietly as possible.

He carefully peeked his head over the edge once he was on top and, once he noticed the coast was clear, swung himself over the railing and onto the wooden planks.

Nino felt a sudden thrilling chill run through his body. Something about the being on the boat of his sworn enemies was so... exhilarating. And the boat itself...as much as he hated to admit it, it was beautiful. Every plank of wood was carved in absolute perfection and was smooth to the touch. He almost found himself gawking over it until he shook out of his stupor and quickly hid.

Now is not a good time, Nino.

He looked around the area, trying to decide what to do.

Sure, he may not have had any PLAN, exactly, since he was basically going in head-first, but that was definitely not going to stop him. He ultimately decided to begin silently climbing the mast he was hiding behind, in his brain coming up with possible ideas as he went.

Should he plant a deadly surprise? Rig the steering wheel so it couldn't work anymore? Steal the treasures he should've gotten in the first place?

He stopped mid-climb with a growing smirk. That last one actually wasn't a bad idea.

Nino hopped atop the wooden plank that held the sail, using attentive balance to get himself steadily across.

"Whoa, who are you?" a voice not too far off laughed, nearly causing Nino to lose his balance as he flailed his arms about. Once it was regained, he glanced up to see a spunky looking pink-haired pirate leaning out of the crow's nest, eyeing him giddily.

"I-uh-well-" Nino cursed at himself internally. Already he'd been spotted and he'd barely been here for ten minutes! Not to mention there was something familiar about her...

"This is exciting," the other pirate stated as she hopped expertly onto the same surface as he, drawing her sword and striking a playful pose. As Nino drew his own sword, she cut a rope sitting beside her. A rope holding... nothing. Nino stared at it as it fell down. What was the use of that?

"You look like you know a thing or two," she continued. He really wasn't liking her smirk. "There a reason you're here?"

He tried giving her a glare as malicious as he could. "Maybe."

Without warning, she struck at him with her sword. It caught him off guard, but luckily he was able to deflect it in the nick of time. He swung back to retaliate, driven by multiple levels of sudden anger.

"Not bad sword-fighting skills!" she praised impishly as she dodged his lunge. "You really do know a thing or two, huh?"

He hissed back, "More than you think."

"A real shame it's not quite enough."

"Huh?" A hand was harshly covering his mouth before he had time to think about what she meant. Nino attempted to fight whoever was behind him, but he realized a bit too late that there was a funky-smelling cloth over his mouth. A cloth holding chloroform.

Nino tried his best to quarrel the gases covering his mouth as his knees steadily grew weaker, but to no avail. Soon, everything grew black.

There were voices... many, many voices that soon knocked Nino out of his unconsciousness. His eyelids were heavy as he tried opening them, groaning, and the surrounding voices grew more excited.

A few more moments passed and Nino was finally able to start getting a glimpse of what was going on. Then, he noticed he couldn't move. After blinking many times, he tried squirming, but the ropes tying him to the mast were too tight.

"Look who's finally awake," a raspy voice said cheekily. Nino growled at all the people gathered around, trying to hide his humiliation. There were many expressions present, ranging from confusion, curiosity, mischievousness, to just straight-up hatred.

"Where's the captain?" another pirate demanded. "She needs to see this!"

"Alright, alright, I'm coming!" came a voice from not too far off, and when the figure finally came into view, Nino felt his blood turn to ice. He recognized that outfit.

The orange headband in her hair matched the long piece of cloth wrapped around her waist in a way that almost made it look like a skirt, and the white frills on her breasts and sleeves were all too familiar. She had a black strip wrapped around her body that held her sword, guns, and various other weapons and gadgets from what Nino could tell. And around her neck was placed a pendant shaped just like a fox tail.

That was Alya.

She stopped short when she noticed who the intruder was and Nino wanted nothing more than to disappear when a giant smirk suddenly grew on her face.

"Well, if it isn't the cute mandolin player from the market!" Alya exclaimed as she stepped closer.

Nino tried his best to glare at her, but he wasn't sure he was succeeding as much as he wanted to be. Soon, she was standing right before him.

"So, why'd you tag along?" Alya suddenly placed either hand next to his face and leaned in, clearly delighting in the way he tried pushing farther back. In a sudden low voice, she whispered right next to his ear in a way that gave him goosebumps, "Just couldn't get enough of me, hmm?"

Nino turned his head and clenched his eyes shut, trying to get the image of her alluring hazel eyes out of his brain.

Alya stepped back and pulled out her sword, biting her lip giddily as she used the tip of it to lift his chin. Nino had to suppress a gulp. "Alright then, state your full name and business here." The Coral Crew captain used her sword to move his gag down.

Nino shook his head and smacked his lips uncomfortably for a second before turning his eyes back to Alya.

Oh, how thrilled he was at her change in expression when the next few words came out of his mouth.

"Nino Lahiffe. Captain of the Jade Crew." The entire boat exploded into various whispers and gasps. Alya's grin vanished and her eyes, though awfully surprised, turned cold as the sea. It was now Nino's turn to smirk. "And I'm here to stop you and rightfully take what's mine!"

After her brief moment of shock, Alya's malicious smile returned, one thing Nino was not entirely pleased about. "Oh? And how do you plan on doing that, exactly?" She drew herself closer to him once more and placed her hand beside his head in a way that was intentionally intimidating, as well as other things. "I've got my whole crew here and you're still tied up."

"I wouldn't be so sure about that." Alya's head whipped in the direction of the new voice. She was quiet for a moment as she gave the newcomer a good look up and down, before saying, "And just who are you supposed to be?"

The blonde bowed regally and announced, "Adrien Agreste, madam." He lifted only his head and winked. "Co-captain of the Jade Crew."

Beside her, Marinette squeaked. Alya groaned. "Don't tell me. Your crew is actually surrounding the boat right now."

"That's pretty close to accurate, yeah," came a voice from above and Alya looked up to see Kim clutching to the ratlines with a giant, smug grin. Nino knew she recognized him as the boy whose wallet was snatched by the pink-haired pirate when they were at the market.

Speaking of whom.

"ALIX!" Alya turned to her lookout indignantly, whose arms zipped up in defense. "You didn't spot these guys?!"

"Wh-hey, don't blame me; I was too busy catching this guy!" She gestured at Nino, who was shaking the rope off his arms and shoulders. Behind the mast, Juleka appeared with the knife she had used to set him free.

"Technically, I caught him," Max mumbled.

"Does it matter?" Kagami hissed, eying each intruder with serene scorn.

"It does to me..."

"Besides," Alix continued, ignoring the conversation, "Their boat was too far away when I spotted it."

"You actually spotted it?!" Alya's face was starting to grow red with frustration, and Nino was feeling an odd mix of delighted and slightly terrified.

"Whoa whoa I didn't actually know it was them! They had flying underwear as their flag so I thought it was some random boat that wouldn't be much of a threat."

Alya gave her crewmate, as well as Nino, a puzzled look. "Flying what now?"

"Huh. I guess it was a good idea to let Kim hang those boxers up for fun for a day," Nino mumbled thoughtfully.

Kim's face suddenly lit up as he looked at the pirates below him, shouting, "Hey, underwear boy himself is here! Hi, Max; thanks for letting me steal your briefs!"

The entire boat grew quiet as every pair of eyes landed on Max, who looked like he wanted nothing more than to die on the spot as he looked down in near shame.

"That's... your underwear?" Alix asked him, breaking the silence.

It took a moment for Max to respond. "No."

A snicker pierced the awkward quietness, and Alya whipped her head at the culprit, who, of course, was Nino.

She still couldn't believe it. It was Nino, the one person who she had had a blast with at the market. The one person she had sworn was her enemy for life.

And right now, he had the nerve to snicker at what was going on.

"This is your crew?" He was shaking his head and smirking, which made Alya's blood boil. "You're kidding!"

"Hey!" she snapped back with enough fury that she actually made him gawk at her, if for a moment. "You melon head! They're twice the crew yours will ever be!"

By this point he had drawn his sword, and he challengingly pointed it at her as he replied, "Oh, you wanna bet on that?"

Her glare was unwavering as she pointed her own sword with equal fervor. "Try us."

The tension became thick as ice once the words left her mouth, and each crew eyed one another warily, waiting for the first person to make a move.

Alya mustered as much hate, defiance, and unadulterated fury in her glare directed at the pirate in front of her as she could.

He was skilled in giving her an equal look, she noted.

"I've been waiting for this moment for a long time," Nino finally mumbled before charging forward.

And that's when chaos broke loose. Various yells sounded as both crews lunged at one another with years of built up rage.

Kim started throwing anything he could find at those below him. Rose basically complimented everyone she saw, throwing them off before Juleka attacked from behind. Alix gave Trixx a sword. It was madness.

Kim, Chloe, and Sabrina screeched to a halt when Trixx leaped in front of them.

"It's got a sword!" Kim yelped as Sabrina latched onto Chloe's arm.

Chloe, however, bonked the top of their heads with the hilt of her own sword. "You idiots, we've all got swords!"

The lookout glanced at his weapon. "Oh yeah." With that, they all let out war cries and chased the fox away.

Alya lifted her sword in defense against her enemy and, once his hit hers with a loud clang, she twisted and didn't waste a moment to swing back. Lucky for him, he was able to deflect her sword with his own.

They held their swords together and pushed at each other with all the strength each could muster. Just as Alya grunted, Nino leaned forward with a devious grin and said, "Heh. You called me cute."

She shoved her sword forward with a scoff. "Looks can be deceiving."

He pushed back and leaned even closer. "Still cute, though."

Alya tried swerving around him to catch him off guard but to her surprise, he used the moment to grab her arm with his free hand, turn her and push her chest against the mast that he was tied against mere moments ago. He pressed himself against her back and leaned close to her ear, whispering in a way that made her barely able to suppress her shudder, "Nice try, captain."

"Funny.." she muttered back, and before he had a chance to process what she meant, Alya managed to overpower him and swap their positions, pressing as close as possible as she continued, "I was just about to say the same thing."

Nino threw her off (but, oh, did she notice his goosebumps). He turned and glared at her as she adjusted her posture.

"Oh WOW oh my goodness it's the pirate from the market with the gorgeous necklace!" a high-pitch voice squealed. Both captains turned to Rose with wide eyes. She had her hands together gleefully as she gave Alya the most adorable look with her bright blue eyes. "How are you?"

Alya glanced at Nino. "Uh. Good?"

"And how's your fox?" As soon as the words left Rose's mouth, Kim suddenly bolted in front of her, screeching as the fox in question trailed closely behind with the sword clutched in his jaws dangerously close to Kim's rear. "Oh, never mind! He seems to be doing just fine!" Rose dashed back into the crowd of pirates with a battle cry.

Alya turned back to Nino. She looked down and noted his legs were spread wide to help with his stance and, luckily for her, he was still distracted by Rose's interruption. She smirked.

As quick as a fox, Alya stepped back and ducked between his legs, successfully rising behind his back and kicking him with enough force to knock him over, his sword sliding a few inches out of his grasp. She straddled him and pinned his wrists to the floor. "Sorry, cap, nothing personal." She impishly grinned at his quivering frown. "It's just business." She held both of his wrists in one hand as she reached for her sword with the other, lifting it to deal a blow much more powerful than the many bruises and cuts they had both received in the battle.

The boat suddenly lurched forward, however, throwing Alya off Nino with a yelp.

"Captain! We've hit land!"

"What?" Alya and Nino both looked up from their awkward positions, perplexed.

Alya suddenly gasped in realization. "We're here."

Nino's eyes snapped open wide before he scurried onto his feet and booked it to the edge of the boat as fast as he could.

"HEY! where do you think you're going?" she screeched, trailing right behind.

They both landed on the sand and took off towards the only thing in view: a cave. An obvious-looking cave at that, and they should've been perhaps a bit suspicious, but their thoughts were too focused on other things to care about that.

The moment they ran into the cave, the glimmering of a certain jewel stopped them in their tracks.

The cave itself was the most ordinary thing. Gray walls, gray floors, gray everything. But at the very back of the wide room... seemed to be the very thing the both of them had been looking for.

"The Jade Turtle..." They both whispered in awe. The only thing that knocked them out of their stupors was the voice of the other.

"Back off, I found it first!"

"As if, turtle breath!"

Nino shoved Alya to the floor and ran off, but despite her surprise, she quickly grabbed his ankle and pulled him to the floor, as well. She used his leg as a momentum to get herself back to her feet.

And, of course, he did the exact same thing.

Why did he have to be so annoying?

Together they tussled as they reached further into the cave, only two things on their minds: get rid of the other human there and grab the Jade Turtle.

Nino shoved Alya against the wall. "Gah! I'm so tired of you!"

"The feeling's mutual, captain underwear!" she retorted harshly, wiggling to get out of his grasp. One of her arms managed to get loose and she grabbed his sword and threw it as far as she could back to the entrance of the cave.

"You're gonna regret that," he hissed.

"You're gonna regret THIS!" Alya lifted her knee right into his crotch area and he yelped in pain, immediately letting her go.

She was so close... she could practically feel the smooth surface of the turtle-shaped gem right beneath her fingertips.

Unfortunately, Nino was right behind her.

Her hand finally touched the top of the Jade Turtle, but only a moment after his soon followed.

"It's mine!" she growled.

"No way!" he panted back. "Who's crew has a closer name to it anyway, huh?"

"That doesn't even-!" Alya didn't have time to finish her sentence however, because the floor beneath them suddenly opened up, sending the both of them hurtling into the dark depths of the cave below.

The paperwork on your desk no longer existed, at least not when you were gazing at the man who had unwittingly stolen your heart. As cheesy as it sounded, it was true. You had the biggest crush on Doctor Spencer Reid, but he was so oblivious to anything social that you were positive he had zero idea you liked him.

JJ looked over at you from her desk in the bullpen, a smirk on her lips and a mischievous glint in her beautiful blue eyes. "Hey. (Y/N)," she whispered over the desk partition. You blinked, turning your head quickly to look at your coworker. "Whatcha lookin' at?"

You felt your face begin to heat up just a tad, and you rubbed at your nose, one of your nervous habits. "Nothing. Just daydreaming I guess."

JJ found that interesting. "Oh, really? Daydreaming about what, pray tell?"

"Nothing," you snorted, trying to direct the attention away from yourself. You shook your head and turned to your mountains of files and papers. "I have work to do, so..."

"Mhm, work." JJ seemed neither impressed nor convinced. "Keep at it, girl." And with that, she sank back into her cubicle, continuing her own paperwork.

Now that you were out of sight of prying eyes, you could finally put the last few details to your most recent drawing. Your sketchbook was getting fuller and fuller with every day you were at the BAU. Full of what, you ask? Well...almost all of them were sketches of your favorite muse. Yes, there were some pieces done of your other coworkers as well, but most of them were of Spencer. After all, who wouldn't want to immortalize that adorable face on paper?

Your nimble fingers delicately gripped your pencil, the graphite creating lines and shadows that came perfectly together to make one of your new favorite drawings.

You grinned and poked your tongue through your lips as you added the last few shadows, and smiled even wider when you decided it was finished. Your eyes glinted with pride as you gazed down at the sketch. It was definitely one of your best.

"Hey, is that Sp—" You jumped at the voice and slammed the sketchbook shut, flinching at the loud noise. Your head snapped to the left to see Garcia standing there with her eyes wide and her jaw slack.

"Hey, Penelope." You smiled nervously. "What's up?"

"Well now that I see you have an obsession, apparently there's a lot going on!" she squealed excitedly. You hoped either no one was listening or overheard this conversation.

"There's nothing going on, Penny," you tried to convince her, "It's just some sketches I've been working on, that's all."

The feathers in Garcia's headband flopped in all directions as she bounced on the balls of her feet, the sight almost making you laugh. "OMG! This is so exciting! My beautiful little kitten is in love with the genius pretty boy!" Thankfully she had mind enough to hoarsely whisper the last sentence. Her enormous grin had always been contagious, and you still couldn't resist its charm. You felt your lips reluctantly pull upwards into a shy smile.

"I know, I know. Just keep it between us, all right, Garcia?" You glanced quickly at Jennifer in the cubicle next to you, and saw that she was intensely focused on her paperwork, too focused to notice your conversation. "I don't know if JJ is catching on yet, but I'd like to throw her off my scent if I can." Penelope nodded so fast her head might've flung off of her shoulders.

"So I'm guessing he hasn't caught on?"

You scrunched your eyebrows together. "Caught on?"

"You mean you haven't flirted with him yet?!" Penelope nearly shrieked as her eyeballs almost popped out of their sockets, and you shrunk lower into your seat in embarrassment. You were praying harder than you ever had right then that no one was listening. Also, where was Spencer?You had seen him about five minutes ago, but now he had completely disappeared.

"No, I haven't. Because he wouldn't understand what I would be trying to do," you murmured desperately. "You know him; he's not into that kind of thing. He's just not like that."

Garcia shrugged. "You never know, sweet pea. Maybe he's just waiting."

"Who's waiting?" You and Garcia turned at the sound of Reid's voice, and now you wished you'd found out his whereabouts before continuing this conversation. Garcia left, patting your hand and whispering something about how everything would work out just right, and your heart slipped even deeper into your shoes. You couldn't seem to break eye contact with the man of your dreams, and you hated it. You wanted to look down, to go back to your paperwork, to pretend like Spencer had heard nothing. But you couldn't; all you could do was open and close your mouth like a retarded fish and stare into those beautiful hazel eyes.

Spencer raised his eyebrows and took a step closer, shoving his hands into his khaki pants pockets. "You all right there, (L/N)? You look a bit flushed."

"U-um, yeah, no, I'm uh...I'm fine." You cursed your inability to form a coherent sentence and were finally able to look away, nervously tucking a strand of your (h/c) hair behind your ear.

"(Y/N)." You loved it when he said your first name. Everyone was usually called by their last name here, as it was somewhat more official. Of course, you and your coworker friends would call each other by your first name, but it always seemed a little more special when Spencer was the one doing it. "What's wrong?" He gingerly leaned against your desk, and you swiveled nervously in your chair.

"Everything's fine, Spence." You'd never realized what that did to him. Calling him 'Spence.' JJ used to be the only one in the BAU who called him that, and it was something he grew to love. But when you'd shown up and the two of you became friends, it was safe to say that giving him the same nickname was welcomed by him.

Spencer shook his head. "Everything isn't fine, (Y/N). Did Garcia say something that upset you?"

"No, she just...said something that—" you sighed and held your head in your hands. "How much of our conversation did you hear?"

"Enough to know that you might...like me...?"

You looked up at him through teary eyes and readjusted yourself in your chair. "Is that something that you'd rather me keep to myself?"

Spencer softly snorted and a smile cracked across his face. "Well, it seems like there's a lot you've been hiding from me, (Y/N)." He reached across your cluttered desk to grab your sketchbook, and instantly you tensed up, hoping with every fiber of your being that he wouldn't be scared off by its contents.

As he flipped through the pages, his eyes grew wider, his lips parted as if he were too confused to ask the question that lay on his mind, his eyebrows drew together in thought. You knew which pictures he was looking at.

"(Y/N)—"

"They're creepy and stalker-like; I know. I'm sorry." You moved to take the book from Spencer's hands, but he moved out of your reach.

"These are amazing!" he praised, a look of flattered awe on his handsome face.

"Really? I, I just thought that...well, that maybe it's a bit unprofessional and...weird." You were praying that he would let this whole thing blow over.

"What? Weird? Not at all." He grinned at you as he turned the book around so that you could see the picture he was looking at.

"Not when you can make me look so good with a gun."

You bursted out laughing, relieved tears pricking at your eyes. "Oh please, you don't need me to make you look good, Spence."

"How did you even...I mean—" he seemed at a loss for words— "these are like sketch versions of candid photos. How did you...?"

You bit your lip again and hoped the answer he wanted wouldn't make anything weirder. "I see you when you think no one's watching. And I use that. People are the most natural when they have no idea they're being watched, you know?"

Spencer smiled warmly and gently closed the book, handing it back to you. "Look, (Y/N). I...I like you too. I really do. And if I'd known about it...I'd have told you sooner."
