About 100 employees were laid off in total (8%) and one of the main reasons listed is "underperformance," "sharp drop in popularity" and "poor reception of Lightfall."

So you know when for the last year and a half content creators have been shitting and pissing on the game as a full-time job and the amount of negativity and ragebait content became the only thing to make content about for them? Well they certainly won't take the blame, but I will let it be known. These people either don't understand the influence they have or they do and they're doing it on purpose, and I don't know which of these two options is worse, but I am 100% confident that their campaign of rage and hate contributed to this.

You don't base your entire community around constantly hating everything about the only game you play (despite clearly not enjoying it anymore) and somehow avoid galvanising thousands and thousands of people into perceiving the game negatively. Imagine being employees who have barely worked there for 2 years and the only community reception they've seen is 24/7 hate train for their work and then they get fired because of "poor reception" and "drop in popularity." How can they not take that personally? I am absolutely devastated for these people who delievered a banger product and who were met with an unrelenting barrage of toxic gamer children which ended up having more sway over their boss than them.

Which brings me to the next bit and that's FUCK THE CEO. He is now my mortal enemy #1. I am projecting psychic blasts directly into his brain. What an absolute spineless coward who is more willing to bow down to fucking gamers than to protect his own employees. This is absolutely rage inducing because this has happened before. From the article from 2021 about the toxic culture at Bungie:

And because of toxic players. And proof that leadership is not protecting employees and is instead siding with players.

Match made in heaven. Asshole gamer content creators and asshole CEOs, all of whom sit at home on piles of money made from someone else's labour. I hope they all explode. None of the people that worked on this game deserve this.

1) What’s their closet like? Do they have a lot of clothes or just a few staples?

15) What does their desk space look like? Is it messy or organized?

caleb is very organized! he hates having stuff in the way on his desk so he mostly puts things in the drawers; top drawer is for pens and pencils and stuff like that, middle drawer is for papers and documents, and bottom drawer is for any miscellaneous things that he may need at his desk but as soon as he never uses it he moves it to his bedroom instead :]

the most he will have on his desk is just his pc setup, a fake plant or two, a small digital clock with details on the day of the week and the temperature outside, and a notebook and pen for quick note taking!

23) Can they keep a secret?

caleb is very good at keeping secrets. he always takes it very seriously no matter how small and he won't ever talk to someone else about it, even if it may be smart to do so. he's not always the best when it comes to giving advice, but he is very reliable and you won't have to worry about him spilling your secrets to other people

3) What is one thing they really wish they could say to someone? Who? Why can’t they?

jackie sometimes wishes he could still talk to his family, even though he can't remember them. when you join CALAMITY it's a very important decision you make and you have to dedicate your entire life to it; this is why it's required for you to wipe memories of your previous life, so you don't have any attachments :( it's necessary and all CALAMITY employees understand why, but many of them still end up wondering what their life was like before CALAMITY

during the procedure, you can choose between just having your memories wiped but still being aware of the procedure having been used on you, or also having your memories wiped of the procedure in which case you won't even remember having your memories wiped. jackie chose the first option, to still have some sort of connection to his past life; when you choose to have all memories wiped, you'll of course still wonder about if you have any family and the like, but it won't be a priority in your head because you can't remember WHY you can't remember. if that makes sense. jackie would still often wonder because he can remember the procedure and all that

9) What is their most useful skill?

jackie is a medic! well, a scientist in general but he mostly does analytical work and research in the lab, so his most useful field skill would be his medical knowledge and ability to patch people up :] comes in very handy when team alpha is on a case because there's always someone who ends up getting injured

29) Do they take their coffee/tea in a fun mug? If so, what is it?

yes! jackie has a whole collection of fun mugs that all look like a fruit :] his favorite mug is his strawberry mug!

the way some of you people say like oh its a nonprofit which means nobody gets paid…. Like how clueless are you. yes nonprofits tend to use a lot of volunteer labor, but that doesnt mean NO ONE gets paid, because most things require at least a handful of people to be there consistently and put consistent work in just to keep the thing running, which you can only guarantee by putting those people on an actual wage. this means that the money required to pay those full time staff are factored into the organization’s operational costs, which is NOT PROFIT. a nonprofit doesnt mean theres no money involved, it means that the money that is involved is not for profit. it will still have operational costs and the cost of paying the handful of full time employees that keep the organization running smoothly consistently and reliably are considered operational costs
