The Blade's Hope by boomerangmouth. Another commission based on my former glory days playing WEG Star Wars Role Playing Game. Her Captain came from a family of shippers with strong rebel sympathies. In their backstory, the kids would grow up learning the trade in the style of midshipmen as teenagers, and then when they became adults they had to go out into the galaxy and earn enough to buy their own ship and then become a full member of the family and marry.
Commission of the Deckplan for The Sanctuary by boomerangmouth. Another player character's ship in our campaigns, based on our GM's deck plans, but with the artists changes as he felt inclined based on his feel of design. Also, it is from my suggested retcon to make her more distinguishable from the Falcon.

I'm streaming Minecraft tonight at 7:00 Eastern (4:00 Pacific), with the long term goal of constructing a 1:1 scale model of the Starship Enterprise in survival mode
twitch_live
Twitch user HombreDeFlorida
I bought some vintage deckplans a few years ago and I've attempted this build in two separate creative worlds, but both times I lost enthusiasm and gave up about halfway through the super structure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This time I'm going to stream while I build so I can show off my process and get feedback.
It's actually going to be significantly larger than 1:1 because I don't want the interior to be claustrophobic. There's a sensory platform, 23 full decks, and a cargo hold along the hull, all squeezed into a reported height of 72.6 meters.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's less than 3 meters per deck (including floors and ceilings), which just won't do.
The plans specify that each deck is 2.5 meters tall but I want them to be a full 3 with meter thick floors/ceilings because half-meter slabs are transparent (also, I want to use glowstone in the ceilings, but there aren't glowstone slabs in vanilla, so the light blocks would jut out into the decks beneath them).
Measuring from the hull all the way up through all 25 deck spaces and including the roof inflates the height from 72.6 to 101 meters, a 139.12% increase, so every dimensions will need to be scaled accordingly.
Old dimension -> New dimension
Length: 288.646m -> 401.560m (402m) Width: 127.102m -> 176.822m (177m) Height: 72.6m -> 101m Nacelle length: 153.619 -> 213.712 (214) Nacelle diameter: 17.3 -> 24.1 (24)
I may change these numbers ±1 to keep everything odd-numbered because that makes it easier to find centers and keep everything aligned.
I'll go over my process in-depth as I work on this build over the summer. My streaming schedule is set for Fridays and Saturdays 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM, but I might stream throughout the week too. I'll post here when I plan on hopping in, if anyone wants to watch.

Potential stretch goals include a deckplan of the Fives Full suitable for tabletop RPGs and a paperback of the Substack stories to date.
Paid subscribers will all receive the ebook(s) and may take this book as one of their annual rewards.
The stories included are:

Trailer for La Sociedad de la Nieve (Society of the Snow).
"El 13 de octubre de 1972, un avión uruguayo se estrelló en la Cordillera de los Andes. A bordo del avión íbamos cuarenta pasajeros y cinco miembros de la tripulación. Algunos dicen que fue una tragedia. Otros lo llaman un milagro. ¿Lo que realmente sucedió? ¿Qué pasa cuando el mundo te abandona? ¿Cuándo no tienes ropa y te estás congelando? ¿Cuándo no tienes comida y te estás muriendo? La respuesta está en la montaña. Tenemos que remontarnos al pasado para entender que el pasado es lo que más cambia." - Numa Turcatti (played by Enzo Vogrincic)
Translation: "On October 13, 1972, an Uruguayan plane crashed in the Andean Mountain Range. Forty of us passengers and five crew members were on board the plane. Some say it was a tragedy. Others call it a miracle. What really happened? What happens when the world abandons you? When you have no clothes, and you’re freezing? When you have no food, and you’re dying? The answer’s in the mountain. We have to go back to the past to understand that the past is what changes the most."
"We tell these horror stories about cannibalism as if people are holding on to their humanity by a thread and if we cross certain lines, it will be shattered. This idea of fragile humanity, like fragile masculinity; you do one wrong thing and it’s gone. But in fact, people hold on to their humanity as much as they possibly can. And it seems like in this sort of situation, in extreme situations, the humanity comes out more. It doesn't matter if these people are eating human flesh. They are so human. They see each other with so much kindness and humanity. And why do we fixate on the cannibalism as a symbol of the loss of that when we are just as likely, if not more likely, to lose our humanity here in our everyday lives in the ways that we see and exclude people.” - Blair Braverman, You're Wrong About
