💖 Has your OC ever been in love, be it romantic or platonic or otherwise? Who with and did they ever express their feelings or keep it private? How long did these feelings persist / do they still feel this way?

Callie has only ever been romantically in love, with the wonderful Declan (@unfortunate-arrow). for a while, Callie kept her feelings private, having built a friendship with Declan before ever pursuing a romantic relationship with him. after some time, she did end up expressing her feelings in a more direct way than offering help during shared classes. those feelings persisted for a couple of months before she finally confessed, and she still feels the same way towards Declan.

⭐ What is your OC afraid of? Any crippling phobias or some such? How do they act when scared and what helps them calm down? Does anyone ever find your OC scary? Why?

Callie’s biggest fear is losing her family, her mother specifically. she doesn’t really have any crippling phobias. her most common reaction when she’s frightened it the “fight, flight, or freeze” response, in which she mostly freezes up first before forming a solution and jumping into fight mode if it’s not a major threat. if she’s scared to the point that she begins to panic, all it takes is a few words of affirmation to get her to calm down. Callie tries to not present herself as scary, preferring to appear friendly and approachable to everyone.

🌀 Where is your OC from? Where were they born? Do they still live there, if not why did they move? If they still live in the area how has it changed since their childhood? How many places has your OC lived in and where has been their favourite?

Callie is from London, England. she was born and raised there, and still lives there. the most noticeable changes in the time she’s lived there are more technological advances and changes to the infrastructure, with new businesses and shops being added. Callie has only ever lived in London, but she would love to be able to experience life in another town or city if given the opportunity.

FANKIDS APPRECIATION WEEK, DAY 2: Double Trouble

DIANA and FREDDIE QUINTIN, are the children of Brianna O’Rourke and Elias Quintin (@amerrymystery). Diana is a protective big sister, sometimes smothering Freddie, but he loves her a lot. There’s also a seven year age gap between the two, which is definitely the cause of a lot of Diana’s protective moments and Freddie’s moments of jealousy. Ultimately, these two are a good representation of a relationship that Brianna always wanted between siblings.

MICHAEL and WINIFRED O’DONNELL are the children of Ryan O’Donnell and Penny Haywood. A pair of troublemaking siblings, these two embody the spirit of their father and his siblings with an age gap similar to their mother and her sister. Michael can be quite protective of his sister… much to Winifred’s displeasure. Both are a bit closer to their cousins than each other, but Michael and Winifred would do anything for each other.

NICKY and RUBY FITZGERALD-WILSON are the children of Huck Fitzgerald and Lyra Wilson (@cursebreakerfarrier). A sweet yet bickering set of siblings, who don’t quite get along until Nicky starts Hogwarts. However, despite their arguments, Nicky is quite protective of Ruby and he’s the only one who’s allowed to make fun of her. They’re also both named after their grandparents, with Nicky’s first name being after his paternal grandfather and Ruby’s first name being after her maternal grandmother.

NOAH and MAYA KINGSLEY-VALDEZ are the twin children of Camila Valdez and Jasper Kingsley (@cursebreakerfarrier), although they have different birthdays with Noah being born at 11:58 pm on August 1, 2015 and Maya being born at 12:03 on August 2. They grow up near the grounds of Hogwarts as their parents are both professors, so Noah and Maya have always been able to explore the castle, its grounds, and Hogsmeade. They generally get along, but of course, end up butting heads at times. They love each other, though.

FLORA and IAN MACKADE are the children of Finn MacKade and Scotty Rosier (@drinkyoursoupbitch). Flora and Ian generally get along pretty well, but they bicker a bit more than their cousins. A chaotic pair for sure, Flora and Ian love each other a lot… they just don’t always like each other. Despite this, there’s nothing that Flora wouldn’t do for Ian and vice versa. Ian just annoys Flora quite easily as he always has ridiculous questions, while Flora can be a bit critical of Ian, especially about quidditch, which annoys him.

KENNEDY and GUS BATTERSEA-PEMBROKE are the twin children of Luke Battersea and Sophie Pembroke. Kennedy takes after her parents, while Gus generally takes after his Granda John. They usually get along pretty well, although they have their fights like all siblings. Kennedy and Gus can count on one another, though, something that was instilled on them by their parents.

JEM and HARPER O’DONNELL-LEE are the children of Declan O’Donnell-Lee and Callie Black (@mjs-oc-corner). The two siblings grew up surrounded by love and cousins. Jem took after his paternal grandfather and generally has a good relationship with his sister. Their relationship mimics their paternal grandmother’s relationships with her own siblings, being protective and chaotic and kind and full of all the sibling contradictions.

About Jonah: As the older twin, Jonah is the quietest of the three MacKade siblings. He’s got a generally good relationship with his older brother and twin sister. However, he is easily annoyed by Wyatt’s teasings and Zoey’s headstrong tendencies. He’s closest to his twin sister, though, even when he wishes she would stop trying to protect him and let him handle things for himself. He also has a good relationship with both his parents, with a slightly closer relationship with his father than his mother. In addition, he has a close relationship with his cousin, Ian.

Upon starting Hogwarts, Jonah was sorted into Hufflepuff. He joined the quidditch team in his second year as a keeper but in his fourth year, he switched positions to play seeker. He enjoyed spending time at Hogwarts and he really enjoyed playing quidditch. In addition, Jonah’s favorite subject was history of magic, something that he had in common with his father.

After graduating from Hogwarts, Jonah went on to become an archivist for a museum. He had worked for the ministry for a few years, but wasn’t very happy with that work so when a position opened up in a wizarding museum, he eagerly jumped at the opportunity to transfer position.

Jonah’s middle name is after his late paternal grandfather.

Jonah does not like rats, as one bit him when he was a young child and that incident kinda scarred him… when it came to rats, anyways.

In addition, she has a good relationship with both of her parents, although she is a bit closer to her mother than she is to her father. In some ways, the similarities between Flora and Finn make it hard for the two of them to get along pretty well.

Upon starting Hogwarts, Flora was sorted into Ravenclaw. However, Flora was a hatstall between Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. In her third year, Flora quickly made the Ravenclaw quidditch team in the position of chaser. She fell in love with the sport, and began exploring muggle sports like hurling and  Gaelic football. In addition, Flora was made team captain in her sixth year. 

After graduating from Hogwarts, Flora decided to go professionally and started her career playing for the Kenmare Kestrels. She also went on to play for the Montrose Magpies before becoming a philanthropist.

Upon starting Hogwarts, Ian was sorted into Gryffindor after a six-minute hatstall between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. He took a bit of time to grow comfortable at Hogwarts, but it was helped that his sister and cousins were also at Hogwarts too. In his fourth year, Ian joined the Gryffindor quidditch team in the position of keeper. In the fifth year, Ian was named prefect. In addition, Ian began discovering a passion for photography in his fifth year after his father gifted him a camera as a Christmas gift. However, he never wanted photography to be a career. 

After graduating from Hogwarts, Ian went on to become a broom-maker.

Finn taught Ian about photography, although Ian figured out much of it on his own while at Hogwarts.

About Jem: As the eldest child, Jem is a good combination of his parents’ personalities. He takes after his mother a bit more so than his father, but in general, his personality is a good combination of his parents’. He has a good relationship with both of them, but is closer to his paternal grandfather, Granda Barnaby. Granda Barnaby helped to foster Jem’s love of creatures and animals by allowing him to help out at the O’Donnell-Lee Creature Reserve and Rehab Center with the harmless creatures. In addition, Jem is also close with his little sister.

Upon starting Hogwarts, Jem was quickly sorted into Ravenclaw, following in the steps of his aunt Violet, great-uncle Conor, and great-aunt Ruth. He found himself at home in Ravenclaw quite quickly. He adored his time at Hogwarts, which helped to foster many different interests. He joined Ravenclaw’s quidditch team in his fifth year as a beater and joined the magical creatures club in his third year. His love for magical creatures grew with each subsequent care of magical creatures class. 

After graduating from Hogwarts, Jem became a magiozoologist. He studied the field under the guidance of the non-familial members of the O’Donnell-Lee Creature Reserve and Rehab Center. Eventually, Jem inherited the center, after his aunt Dora retired.

Jem shares his middle name, Michael, with his great-uncle Ryan, his great-grandfather, Seán, his great-great-great-great uncle, and his father’s cousin (Ryan’s son). His greatx4 uncle and his father’s cousin both have Michael as their first name, while Great-Uncle Ryan and Great-Granda Seán have Michael as their middle name. 

Fun fact! Jem was Declan’s original name. In his first iteration, Declan was named James Ryan “Jem” O’Donnell-Lee. Naming Declan’s son, Jem, was a fun nod to that.

HPMA Appreciation Week 2023 → Day 3: Favorite Ships of Mine

→ What can I say about Nate and Nova beyond that I love everything about them. The way that Nate’s sunshiney and dealing with his own grief and issues while Nova’s grumpy and brooding is just *chef’s kiss,* especially because it’s usually the other way around. Their faceclaims and all of the material they have together. I love all of their little similarities and differences, even though we haven’t spent much time on the details of their love story. (Which, if the MacKades ever cooperate and let me finish their profiles, I’d love to go into more depth with the details of their story.) @gaygryffindorgal

→ In some ways, Jage is my most developed shared ship and I absolutely adore their story. The planner and the go-with-the-flow type. They complement one another quite well and teach each other different types. Sage doesn’t let Jack’s recklessness push her away, while Jack doesn’t let Sage forget to take of care of herself. They’re able to get through one another’s walls and I just adore them. I also love their first meeting with mistaken identity because it’s a bit chaotic and does both their characters justice. @kc-and-co

For what seemed like hours, Callie had been slaving away over the cauldron, trying to perfect the assignment that was to successfully brew a Felix Felicis potion. She was thankful that it had been a two-person assignment, but she’d noticed that Declan appeared to be in his own little world as he looked over the ingredients. At this point, they’d started being friendly with each other, and some would even say the two of them were smitten with one another.

“Dec?” Callie asked, exhaling as she pushed her hair behind her ear, “a little help here?”

Declan looked up from his potions book, taken aback by Callie’s voice. “Huh?” He looked over to her, then to the cauldron, which was putting off more smoke than it should’ve. “Oh, right.” He shook his head, setting the book down on the table. He’d known almost immediately what was wrong: she didn’t add the thyme.

“I think you forgot this.” Declan smiled, taking a pinch of thyme from the small wooden bowl, adding it to the cauldron. As he stirred the mixture, the thick plume of smoke had dissipated, signifying that he was right.

“Thank you.” Callie smiled, breathing a sigh of relief. She couldn’t believe she’d forgotten to add thyme to the potion, but she was grateful that Declan had realized it.

“Mhm.” Declan smiled, grabbing the next ingredient they needed.
