Faith, Trust, Pixie Dust || Spring Awakening Rehearsals || Vidia and Zane
It was the first day of rehearsals, so naturally Zane had gotten there early. Tech meetings were different, he'd been to so many of them that he knew when he had to be there early, when he had to be there on time, and when he could show up two hours late. Just like he knew when he'd have to stay until two in the morning. But this was a whole other game, and he wanted to make a good impression, especially if he ever tried to get cast again. And he was the lead, too. Supposedly they were important enough to the show to need to be there. But he almost hoped he didn't, not sure if he was mentally ready for the pressure or not. Theatre was trial by fire... it probably wouldn't matter to anyone but him, as long as he didn't crack under it.
The first hours had gone by fast, a name circle, a quick summary of the show for whoever wasn't prepared and hadn't already read the script, followed by a read through. That was all easy enough, nothing too horrifying, and with the help of character names, he was all but sure that he could at least recognize everyone in the small cast. He hadn't spoken much, even during the quick break they'd gotten between acts one and two, not sure what his place was, or if he should talk to the guys, or his fellow leads. He probably should make the effort to get to know the girl playing Wendla, Vidia Hilson, but she... there was a vibe about her that made him a bit nervous. I'll wait for it to be relevant... yeah.
But it soon became just that, as they split the cast off into pairs, for team building, trust exercises. And he was with Vidia, of course, due to their being romantic interests and scene partners. It only made sense for that to happen. So, taking a deep breath, he moved towards he, offering a shy smile and a half wave as he approached. "Um... hey. I'm Zane. Nice t'meet you."

Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner || WTSC Grand Ball || Vidia and Topher
Adjusting his tie one final time, Topher swallowed hard, finding the nerves to knock on Vidia's front door. It wasn't that he was picking her up for a date, or that he had a problem with being romantic. It obviously wasn't either of those, seeing as he'd made sure that flowers, chocolate, and a fancy dinner were all part of how he asked her out. He'd even serenaded her a bit at the end of that night. And Topher was ready to be romantic tonight, as well, a corsage held in his free hand, ready to give her. Purple, Vidia's favorite color, in hopes of matching her dress, which he'd yet to see. But the reason that he was nervous was that he wasn't sure if it would be his date or her father answering the door, and if it was the latter, who he'd yet to meet, he didn't want the older man's judgement affecting the way Vidia saw him.
But luckily for him, when he knocked, the door didn't open right away, giving him time to straighten his shirt once again, and to take another breathe, before the door swung open, revealing his date behind. "Hey, Vid," he smiled, speaking softly, mouth going dry as he saw how beautiful she looked in her dress, "You look nice. Great. I mean, beautiful," he blushed slightly, stuttering over his words as he realized he was staring, and forcing his eyes to the ground, holding out the corsage for her to see, "Really beautiful," he offered a grin, trying to keep his cool, "I'm jealous, actually."

That's quite the... fashion statement, sweetie. Apparently the 80s really are making a come-back.

Quick Beating Hearts, Sweaty Palms || Vidia and Topher
The dog days had just begun, and with no work, Topher decided to head down to the pool. There hadn't been anything interesting going on anywhere in town that day, so he figured reading in the sun, swimming, and ice cream sounded like a pretty decent day. So far, he'd spend most of it reading One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. A friend had recommended it, and surprisingly it was really good, but he was more than halfway done with it when he realized that he had yet to do anything.
He stood and stretched, rolling his head to get a kink out of his neck, and looked around as he did, raising an eyebrow when he saw a familiar face. He bit his bottom lip, taking a moment to give her a once over. She looked good. Really, really good. Drop dead gorgeous, though he barely let himself think that before chiding himself. He met her eyes, quickly looking away, trying to act like he hadn't just been looking at her, and pulled off his shirt, dropping it over his book before looking out at the water, wondering how cold it was, and if he should go in.

[SMS] Good answer. I already told the folks you were coming anyway.
[SMS] Glad my choice matters to you so much. But it’ll be fun. Hopefully. Is there a zoo? I wanna go to a zoo!

[SMS] It's less than two hours away, dear. Don't you feel like you need some time away from this place? Some girl time in a different place? I am NOT lazy. I'm resourceful! So are you in or not?
[SMS] I’m in, mostly because you’ll kidnap me anyway if I say no. :)

[SMS] Correction, we're going on a short trip to Portland for the weekend. You, me, Rose. Are you in? And yes, getting out of bed to walk down the hall is too much effort.
[SMS] Portland?? I've never even been out of Talesville....
Lazzzzzy Bum.

Curve Ball || Vidia&Felicia
Miss Ree had just pulled her aside at the Foster home and spoken to her, she wasn't required to move out... but it was encouraged as she was eighteen and had graduated. Miss Ree reminded her that she was welcomed to stay but they needed room as well for younger kids so if a chance arose she was expected to take it. She didn't know where else to go. She'd never had anywhere else.... Never been adopted. Never had parents... What am I suppose to do now? Maybe Rose would let her move in... But she knew Rose had enough on her plate without someone else who could hardly pay enough without just being a problem.
Who else could help? The only other real friends she had was Sylvia and Theresa and neither had their own place yet either. Vidia still lived with her parents and they probably wouldn't want another mouth to feed would they? Maybe the apartments that Mr.Bessar owned. They seemed nice, maybe she could get one that was fairly cheap. She sighed and sat on the counter at the shop. Rose wasn't here. She couldn't yell at her for sitting on the counter this time. The shop was empty. It was too hot for people to worry about flowers. They were going to the beach. All their arrangements were done, plus Felicia was more of a desk clerk than a flower arranger. She stared down at a bouquet of flowers that was just to the right of the desk, lost in thought.
