Despite everything, the infamously rabid fanbase, the story sticking around long past it's prime, I still love that character.

The one always running his damn mouth, even when he should read the room and take a hint. (Especially then.) Who pretends he doesn't care, but does more than anyone. Who's single guardian made their life hell, using preparing him for the future as an excuse, but he himself never came to terms with how awful his childhood was until years later because at the time he'd been too blinded by hero worship. That character who has a close relationship with his more traditionally intellectual sibling, filled with snide banter, and loves them so dearly he died for them. (Don't worry, he got better.) Who fell in love with someone inhuman they originally had a contentious relationship with, a rebel to his own kind, even when that wasn't the original intent of their story. Who had to struggle with his internalized homophobia over this unexpected feeling, even though he knows and loves queer people in his life already and thinks no different of them. Who may have called a younger version of his own mother hot, but we don't have to talk about that.
