Supernatural is single-handedly the best show i’ve ever seen and the worst show i’ve ever seen. It’s my favorite show ever and also my least favorite show. It is an insult to me as an art form but it also is the greatest art form mankind has ever seen. I love every single episode (the finale doesn’t exist in my world) (i’m delusional) but also most of them are actually so terrible. (especially the finale) (i’m a hater). Like if Supernatural were to never renew or have a movie, i would praise god because i never have to see it on my screen again however if it were to renew it’d be the best thing i’ve ever seen. Supernatural doesn’t deserve any awards or anything but also should have gotten so many awards because it’s incredible. But it’s awful, you know? I will always be the biggest hater and the biggest supporter of Supernatural.

And that’s how i feel today and always.

It’s true that, originally, Cas only rebelled in one universe. But it’s not true anymore.

The second that story was shown to us, countless amounts of Fanfiction, Fanart, and literally just thoughts, created new realities. The love Cas expressed was so powerful and beautiful that it inspired us to bring more universes into being.

Every time a fanfiction is written, Cas rebels again. Every time fanart is drawn, Cas loves again. Every time an idea is thought up, Cas feels again.

And maybe one day, those will outnumber the ones where he obeys, if it doesn’t already.

It is actually insane that Sam and John have this long heartfelt bonding conversation in 1.20 Dead Man's Blood about how John was just scared Sam would get hurt if he was out of John's eye line and that's why he was so mad he went to Stanford—he just wanted Sam to be safe. Then Dean comes into the motel room and John immediately enacts a plan to use Dean as vampire bait.

last night i watched the first episode in supernatural and within 10 minutes i put it on pause because in NO way, through the 15 seasons, should anyone be happy with how dean's story ends with him dying whilst hunting

because in the 10 minutes that ive learnt about him is that he's spent his entire life fighting, and he dies FIGHTING

no satisfying narrative ends like that, especially not for one thats run for 15 years

I’d really like to hear all the Michifer/Wincest parallels going on in your head ❤️

the parallels between michael/lucifer and dean/sam dynamics are so delicious and should be talked about more, i mean, michifer is quite literally proto wincest

i’ve already made a post about the parallel where michael/dean calls lucifer/sam a monster but there’s some more parallelism that drives me wild:

the “righteous older brother is ordered by his father to kill his younger brother for being different” trope

it’s mentioned in the show that lucifer’s cage was designed as a prison immediately after his rebellion. after lucifer was banished from heaven, michael imprisoned him. very reminiscent of dean locking sam up in the panic room and letting him rot in there…

forever going insane over sam/lucifer begging dean/michael to stop fighting and then being rejected

i love how their interactions are filmed so similarly, with angry & conflicted dean/michael in the foreground and pleading sam/lucifer standing behind

they really just want to be loved & accepted by their big brothers

michael’s “i took care of him in a way most people could never understand”. insane choice of words….

also i am in love with this interpretation of michifer which fits perfectly with wincest too. one thing about michael and dean is that they want to devour their little brothers ♡

Idk I like Orpheus a lot but I think it’s still messed up he messed with Triana mind. Maybe I’m a party pooper but I do think Triana should be a bit mad about it AND get into mind magic which leads into the limbo dream world Hank was in.

I think it’s weirder that Orpheus did it bc I mean the magic stuff isn’t a secret also they actually have a good relationship so I think Triana being upset by the whole thing would make sense there’s no reason not to trust her. I think being upset at his forever image of Triana (his little girl) is something interesting to work with for her development. Especially combined with Dean thoughts about her.

The idea that Triana character was already good so they didn’t need to get back to her I can’t agree with bc she actually has so much more you can do simply starting from the 2 guys who are kind to her keep seeing her in this innocent fashion for their own personal feelings rather than her being a person.

I’m not saying she should spiral and hate her dad I’m saying the complexities we give so much time to the men in this show over small things we didn’t think was gonna be important but are that we praise this show about should be applied to the women in the show too. In that sense Triana still had stuff to do! Not as a major big character but still yk around.

Sam literally has no idea who Dean is starting out in Season 1. I know we all say this all the time... but rewatching 1.03 Dead In The Water last night, it isn't just that Sam thinks that Dean doesn't like kids. It's also how in the same episode, when Dean decides not to take the out the sheriff gave them and turns around to check on Lucas and his mom, Sam is like, "Who are you and what have you done with my brother??"

And that combined with 1.02 "Saving People, Hunting Things, the Family Business" makes me think like. Oh. Sam really doesn't understand why Dean hunts at all. He has no idea that Dean actually cares about the victims and his primary directive is protecting people he doesn't even know because he loves them—because Dean loves everyone and wants to give them what he can't have. Dean is so conflated with John in Sam's mind that they're virtually the same person to him, and apparently in this situation, John would have taken the out and prioritized protecting their family from the law over making sure the hunt was finished.

This is literally Sam's first time ever hunting one-on-one with Dean and not Dean&John. So every time he's ever hunted with Dean, it was John's plan and John's principles and John's prime directive. Sam never understood that just because Dean followed orders, his own motivations were not the same as their fathers. He never understood Dean's actions as anything other than an extension of their father's feelings and will.

sorry for getting into spn in 2024. you jump in to your friends' watch party (in s6, in some of s6's worst episodes) for funsies and then three days later youre watching s1 "just to have something in the background." and then you watch spn for 20 days straight from start to finish. and then the tragic little gay people haunt you
