#dean and castiel's profound bond

In turn, Cas found someone to give his protection and grace to. He found Dean and decided he was worth saving and looking after. Dean’s prayers are heard, accepted, and acted upon by the one angel in heaven who loves the righteous man not because he’s Micheal’s vessel, but because he’s Dean. He’s short tempered, he’s harsh, he’s brave, he’s scared, he’s caring, he’s painfully human, and yet Cas wouldn’t want him any other way. Dean is who Cas will always take care of like a merciful god takes care of his most devout followers.

I will actually never get over the fact that Dean and Cas find religion in one another in a nearly godless world. Yes, god exists in their universe but Dean takes no comfort in knowing that; he takes comfort in knowing Cas is there. He prays to Cas.

I kind of don't like how a lot of people forget that despite all the angst and the drama around Dean and Cas they are fundamentaly best friends.

How many times did Dean say it throught the entire show? Bobby in season 6 saying "Well, you just lost the best friend you ever had."

For Bobby to say that, knowing Dean better than even Sam in some regards, how many times had Dean been sitting with Castiel on the couch in his living room?

Cas doesn't sleep, and rarely does Dean, with the Apocalypse looming right behind him.

So all they had left, in those quiet nights were each other. And they were okay with it, because they liked each other's company.

Obsessed with the sudden shift in Cas' willingness to say insane romantic shit to dean in season 8. A couple of seasons ago, he would tell dean that they had a profound bond to his face. That everything he did, he did for Dean. Now? He's hesitating. He clenches his fists to avoid hugging Dean back in purgatory. He stutters and looks away before saying he stayed away from Dean to protect him. When asked what broke through heaven's brainwashing, he looks away and says he doesn't know. It's so interesting to me

Kinda hilarious that this was all Chuck’s fault

Like, he never intended to keep bringing back the angel with a crack in his chassis, but any time Cas died, Dean would become inconsolable and go entirely off script

So Chuck had no choice but to resurrect the angel in order to get Dean to play his role

Their love is what foiled God’s plan, in every way that matters

Thinking about how Cas ran in purgatory. Not technically needing sleep but so exhausted from never being safe. Exhausted by the loneliness, by how afraid he was feeling.

His angel blade is wrapped tight in his hands. Every night spent roaming this endless forest, his thoughts occupied by yearning, longing for Dean's voice echoing in his mind. Waiting for his Prayer, his only sign that the hunter was still alive.
