Because I had a vision:

We’re in the third act of an Indiana Jones style adventure. We’re in a cool creepy trapped up mine in Wales.

Our main heroes (H) are fighting our main villains around the (for lack of a better word) control centre for this maze of a mine.

Meanwhile, our Smart Guy (SG) is in a side tunnel with Evil Minion (EM). EM has taken SG’s glasses and is about to shoot him execution-style in the back of the head.

The narrative requirements are that EM dies with SG’s glasses in such a way they can’t be recovered so I get a short-sighted SG trying to navigate a dangerous environment and an in-universe way to censor a really gory death.

I’m sorry, but why do we keep continuing to act as if Jason was out on the streets jacking tires because he felt like it?

Why frame this as Jason just being an angry kid doing angry kid things because he’s parentless (or powerless and lashing out or whatever) when he was stealing the tires off the batmobile so he could feed himself because he was disadvantaged - ie: homeless. He was fucking homeless - ?

I’m probably nitpicking, but I don’t give a shit. Also, the narrative that Bruce is who “made” Jason a good person “against all the odds” is such bullshit.

Can we get more deaf Steve Harrington stories that are like...normal stories where Steve just happens to be deaf, however deaf he is.

Like, I want him to be deaf in some way, but I wish there was more stories where the story was like a normal story. Just write a regular story, canon, AU, Divergent, but just...happen to make him deaf. Like that can still be a integral plot point.

Give me deaf pirate Steve, or a monster AU where Steve gets taken because he's deaf, unable to hear the monster coming.

I studied adventure and fantasy films as well as adaptations extensively in university so I have a video essay planned (finally I’m getting to YouTube) but I’m interested to get your thoughts since pretty much all of these problems are stemming the place that’s sparked the Writers’ Strike so it feels relevant.

Because we obviously have fantastic writers and directors and creatives out there - why aren’t they getting to tell stories?

Questionable Decision of the Day: Paragliding with a chronic balance disorder

Sometimes it's really difficult to know when I should push my limits with a disability. Currently I'm on holiday with my family and most of them wanted to do paragliding (with an instructor and stuff). I decided I would be brave and just do it. It's not dangerous or anything for my balance disorder the worst thing that would happen is that I'd be sick and feel very unwell for the rest of the day.

Unsurprisingly, that's exactly what happened/ is currently happening. I have no idea whether it is worth it or not, but I feel like I don't want to let my disability stop me doing anything, unless it's actually dangerous.

I am very proud of myself for being brave enough to do it. The instructors were very good, although I don't think my pilot guy really understood that I can't hear.
