oh im perfectly serious. the game is content to mention miscarriage and pregnancy but they cant even make the most implicit of references towards menstruation except “mensis” and that one doesn’t even refer to menstruation itself - everything else is just theories. please you try harder !

Look up Blue Flame - it's a straight sword that has innate Magic Damage and serves as a spell-casting tool too. The Sun Sword has respectable damage and a good moveset. If you're interested in Powerstancing then the Warped Sword and Majestic Greatsword have unique movesets while dual-wielding thouh they're not straight swords.

I love the Trapper's design and all but I seriously can't get over the fact he jammed a metal bar into his back to hold up his goddamn overalls, and it doesn't even work properly. There's killing multiple people and then there's THIS.

Nito is called 'he' in the Gravelord Sword Dance and Greatsword Dance miracles but I honestly doubt a giant skeleton made out of other skeletons has a gender, but then again Nito also has a name so who knows?

Thanks! I just read the descriptions of those again. “Nito sleeps deep within the Giant Catacombs, quietly overseeing all death, and waiting for his servants to usher in the Eye of Death.” His servants, that’s a definite gendering there. 

Of course, the item descriptions are known to be wrong sometimes too. Just look at the horrible misgendering of Gwyndolin, and the character smearing of poor innocent Priscilla. Dark Souls likes that unreliable-narrator feel. Maybe we should just ignore what it says and use they/them pronouns for Nito. Given how Nito is a big conglomeration of lots of people’s bones, that’s probably the best pronoun anyway.

You can actually roll right through the roars (or at least some of them, still no definite list has been done for World as far as I know), though it’s a bit hard to time. Other than that, investing in the Earplugs skill or getting a Hunting Horn that has a melody that gives you Earplugs either reduces the stun from the roar or completely reduces it depending on the skill’s level and the specific monster.

THAT’S THE THING: MAKING THE GAME BORDERLINE UNPLAYABLE IF YOU DON’T FIGURE OUT THAT THIS ONE SPECIFIC TREE ON THE EDGE OF THIS ONE SPECIFIC LOCATION HOLDS THE ONE SPECIFIC NPC WHO LETS YOU DO SHIT ISN’T REWARDING EXPLORATION, IT’S PUNISHING NOT FINDING THIS ONE SPECIFIC VAGUE DARK SHAPE ON THE SCREEN.

THE GAME REWARDS EXPLORATION THE SMART WAY, NAMELY, BY HAVING LOTS OF PLACES TO EXPLORE THAT GIVE YOU STUFF. REWARDING EXPLORATION THE DUMB WAY BY EXPECTING YOU TO GO OVER THE STARTING AREA WITH A FINE-TOOTHED COMB TO UNLOCK KEY GAMEPLAY ELEMENTS WAS NOT NECESSARY.

(NOTE: I AM STILL PLAYING! I’M ENJOYING THE GAME! BUT MAJULA IS A MASTERPIECE OF BAD AREA DESIGN, EVEN IF THE THREE LITTLE PIGS WHO COLLECTIVELY OUT-TANK THE LAST GIANT WERE KIND OF FUNNY.)
