I wonder if Luffy can hear the voice of all things, that includes the dead, if say ghosts are real in one piece and Ace never left his brothers alone, slipping from on to the other, and sometimes to see his crew.

Now Luffy can't hear them aswell as some others, especially pre gear 5, but its a comforting whisper, a reassurance when he needs it the most. As he gets more intune with the power of his fruit, he starts hearing Ace more but only when he is between sleeping and waking. He always brushes it off as a dream. He misses his brother after all, and it is nice to see him in dreams.

When they reach Wano is when it gets louder with his awakening just around the corner.

Then Momo asks who's the guy next to Luffy.

That's when Luffy really sees and hears him. Their reunion is painful, Ace looks dead, most of his chest is missing, but it is his brother right there, and they can't even hug.

It's the worst for Sabo when Luffy tells him that Ace is still around and standing next to him. Sabo breaks down just a little bit, so many missing years, so many things he wants to say, wants to hear but cant

Sabo taking a break to find a way to bring Ace back, or at least make ghosts tangible if nothing else.

Somehow gets Perona involved in the shenanigans and ofc Koala. Ace decides to stick around with them even if they cant hear him, he can interact with Perona, who might aswell be a ghost.

Journey to bring back Ace is a go! XD

my favourite lawlu trope is them switching hearts, like that's actually the cutest thing in the whole world. and their both so fucking weird like they totally would do somthing freaky like that. I like to think it would be their weird way of proposing. also Law would always know when Luffy goes into gear 5 cus he would feel the irregular heart rate. and if you're a sucker for angst, then if you want to go with the theory that is actually dead after his encounter with the BBP then Luffy would be able to feel that his heart had stopped. like he would go apeshit, you would have an Ace sanario all over again.

You heaved on your back, trying desperately to get as much air as you could into your lungs, the battle finally settling around you. You forced your head to look to your right, a bright smile spreading across your face, there was Luffy, he had it. After all this waiting, you had found the poneglyphs, you had found the location they led to and there you had all found a great many traps, monsters, and even a few undead protectors all getting tougher and tougher as you got to the center of the island.

Your captain stood atop a hill of gold, the sun setting behind him as he held up this shining, metal orb, wrapped in a band of crystal, it was the god damned One Piece. You beamed and desperately tried dragging yourself to your feet, struggling to hold yourself up, but your eyes never left Luffy in Gear 5, flashes of Nika, Joy Boy, and Gol D. Roger all running through your mind, ripping pure laughter from your throat.

Luffy’s eyes sparkled as he held up this amazing treasure in his hands, and he realized, “I did it. I got it, I FUCKIN GOT IT!” he cheered, literally leaping for joy, his red eyes landing right on your beat up, but smiling body. Luffy cheered and sprinted down the large pile of gold, aiming right for you.

You grunted as he barreled into you, both of you cackling as he landed, him hovering over you, his hands on either side of your head, “I got it.” He whispered, trying to suppress his beaming smile a little bit.

“You’re the King of the fucking Pirates.” You whispered back, not even trying to stop your ear-splitting grin. Luffy slammed his lips against yours, his Gear 5 melting away.

“Marry me,” Luffy mumbled against your lips, swallowing your piercing gasp, “C’mon, marry me, be my queen.” He giggled into your mouth.

You had to actively push Luffy back, heaving laughter as you nodded, “Okay, pretty boy. I’ll marry you!” you exclaimed, shoulders shaking as you let him dive back into your lips.

Luffy pulled back and hoisted you up into his arms, letting you hold the treasured orb, “I AM MONKEY D. LUFFY!” he hollered to the air, “I’M THE KING OF THE PIRATES, AND I’M GETTING MARRIED!” he yelled out, receiving hoots and hollers from the Straw-Hats, all recovering from the fight and jogging up to you two as fast as they could.

The wedding came three months later, held on an ornately decorated Thousand Sunny. You had Robin, Nami, and Usopp-he insisted-in your wedding party, all dresses in beautiful gowns of different colors, Robin in a deep plum, Nami in an emerald green, and Usopp in a pale yellow. Luffy had Sanji, Trafalgar Law, and Eustass Kidd at his side, all three crews in attendance. Other notable guests were the “resurrected” Sabo, Shanks and the Red-Haired Pirates, Buggy and his crew, Mihawk, and Sir Crocodile, all of whom were scattered across their ships, watching the ceremony, the captains and warlords all sat in the few chairs left open on the deck of the Thousand Sunny. Two seats were left empty, right in the front row, next to each other. They each sported little framed photos, one of Ace, one of your brother, both of them beaming in glass frames, green and orange respectively.

Zoro pulled at his collar, not used to the constricting feeling, but he stopped when he noticed Mihawk glaring at the poor etiquette, straightening his back. Zoro, as first mate, was to officiate.

You sighed, trying to shake out some nerves as you heard Brook start playing your music. You and Luffy were far from a traditional couple, so your wedding was nothing different. Luffy wore only a blazer, opting out of a shirt, the music playing was a wedding march from your island, a rendition of the slow song you and Luffy had danced to on his birthday, and your dress was very you. The bodice hugged your torso, colorful glass beads running across its white, silky surface, and the skirt was shorter at the front, falling just above your knees, the back just brushing your ankles, which were clad in your same old boots, shined and gleaming. You and Luffy both still wore your hats on your heads, you opting out of a veil. Your bouquet was all selected from your island.

You swallowed your nerves, a bright smile breaking across your face as you took the first steps out toward your fiancé.

Luffy beamed, his face going a bit rosy as he saw how pretty you looked all dolled up. He watched you closely as you walked down the aisle, reaching out to hold your hands as you handed off your bouquet. He practically buzzed with excitement, unable to stop himself from leaning down and kissing your painted lips, receiving a few wolf whistles and cheers.

Luffy was quickly chastised by Zoro, “You’re supposed to wait on that, moron!” he growled, pulling Luffy off of you, much to both of your disappointment.

“Then marry us quicker,” Luffy huffed, a few barked laughs coming from the crowd.

Zoro rolled his eyes and started, “Thank you, everyone for coming today.” He droned, reading out a book on a little podium in front of him, “We are gathered here to witness the marriage of one King of the Pirates, Monkey D. Luffy, and-” Zoro called out your full name, “Now, I feel like I should mention, if any of you fuckers object, I’m just gonna throw you overboard.” He called, glaring with his one eye, “So, I’m not even gonna fuckin ask.” You and Luffy laughed, joined by scattered chuckles behind you, “So let’s just-uh-do the fucking vows or whatever, Luffy first.”

Luffy chuckled and turned to face you more fully, “Hey,” he started, squeezing your hand.

“Hey.” You whispered back, face feeling sore from your immovable smile.

“You are the only person I could ever see myself up here with,” Luffy said, “I mean, it was practically prophesied,” He joked with a quick laugh, “You make me happy every day, and I love you so much. I can’t wait to wake up next to you every morning for the rest of our lives, or to fight for freedom with you, and I can’t wait for every little quiet moment in between.” He confessed, “I promise to be there every day, to wake up every morning and try to make the world a better place for you. I promise to love you and hold you close as long as you’ll let me.”

You gave Luffy a watery smile, mouthing a little, ‘I love you’.

Zoro nodded, satisfied, “And now, glass girl.” He said, and you snorted a laugh at the nickname.

You took a deep breath, shifting your hands to where you were holding Luffy’s hands in your own, “Monkey D. Luffy,” you laughed out, shaking your head in disbelief, “You are the single best man I’ve ever met. You make me laugh, you make me the happiest I’ve ever been, and frankly, you make me a better person every day.” You said, “You’re already an amazing king and I can’t wait to see what else you do. I’m so excited that I get to call you mine, and I’m so glad you want me to be yours.” You bit back a few tears, laughing instead, and Luffy reached up to wipe them away, “Thank you. I-I promise to love you and stand by you every day, to fight every day for a better tomorrow,” you broke out into giggles, “and to see how accurate Portgas was with his stupid guesses,” Luffy snorted, the other Straw-Hats laughing knowingly, “and to love you and hold you close as long as you’ll let me.” You whispered, squeezing his hands in yours.

“Sounds good to me!” Zoro announced, digging the rings out of his pocket, holding the simple bands out for you, “Put em on.” He lightly commanded, nodding down at the jewelry.

You and Luffy laughed and shook your head, grabbing your respective rings, sliding them onto each other’s fingers. The rings had simple engravings on each side, one of polished flames, and the other of the rounded cloudlike shapes of Luffy’s Gear 5 form. Nothing too flashy, no gems or diamonds, but perfect for you two, the metal treated to adapt around your Devil Fruit abilities.

“I pronounce you, married!” Zoro called out awkwardly, smacking the book closed, “Now you can kiss her.” He said to a beaming Luffy.

Said man wasted no time, swooping you into his arms, kissing you deeply, dipping you low as cheers and hollers erupted around them, the sound of celebratory cannon fire making you smile.

The massive group moved to the island you were anchored by, a completely abandoned tropical, summer island, completely letting loose with a loud party full of rum, good food, and music.

You and Luffy found yourselves dancing on the sandy beach, your shoes long gone, surrounded by familiar faces. You had your back to his front, one of your hands reached up into his hair and the other holding his hand that was wrapped around your waist. He held your hip with the other, holding you straddled over one of his knees, both of you grinding to the beat. You laughed and smiled at the silly things he’d whisper in your ear between stolen kisses and little nips at your neck and ear.

Luffy practically purred as you tugged a bit at the hair at the nape of his neck, “Having fun, wifey?” he asked, both of your beaming at the nickname.

“Absolutely, hubby.” You teased, placing a lipstick staining kiss to his jaw. “Always love dancing with you.” You muttered into his skin.

Luffy smirked and grabbed your hands, spinning you out from him before pulling you back in, facing him this time, and he placed your arms around his neck and grabbed at your hips. He placed his forehead against yours, knocking both of your hats around your necks. “You’re my wife,” he muttered, his eyes almost heart shaped as he looked at you.

“You’re my husband,” you purred, the same affection and passion in your gaze.

“Wanna hear something funny?” Luffy asked. You nodded, “My birthday wish came true.”

You smiled, confused, “Yeah? How so?”

“I wished that I could get to make you smile forever, and now, I can.” He said, pulling you all the closer against his body.

Robin and Zoro toasted bottles of rum, “We did it.” She cheered, both taking a long swig.

“We got the fuckers married.” Zoro smirked in agreement, raising the bottle back to his lips. “When are we gonna have to set one of these up for you and the cyborg?” he teased, wiggling his eyebrows.

Robin glared at the swordsman, “Oh, hush.” She said, before pointedly walking away, straight toward Franky.

Zoro let out a deep belly laugh as she went, slapping the rock he sat on.

“Wanna introduce you to somebody.” Luffy muttered, leading you toward one of the edges of the dancing crowd. You found a slightly older pirate with red hair and a scar over his left eye nursing a bottle of rum and talking to a tall man with gray hair who was smoking a cigarette, both laughing quietly.

“Little Anchor!” Shanks called out, holding his arm out in greeting, hooking it around Beckman’s neck. “Congrats!” he exclaimed.

Luffy laughed and presented you to the man, “Shanks, meet my wife,” he said, telling Shanks your name, “aka The Glass Dragon!” he bragged, looping his arm around your waist, “The unofficial Queen of Pirates. She won’t let me make it official.”

You flushed and whacked Luffy’s chest, “You dork.” You muttered.

“Your dork.” Luffy chided.

Shanks grinned widely, “Lovely to meet you!” he greeted happily, putting his bottle down and standing, putting his hand out for a handshake. You smiled and grabbed his hand, yelping as you were yanked out of Luffy’s arms, rushed into a tight hug with the older pirate captain, “Any friend of Luffy is a friend of mine!” He exclaimed before pulling back, holding you at arm’s length, patting your shoulder, “You know, I never thought I’d see the day this crazy kid fell in love, but here we are, and I couldn’t be happier.”

You chuckled and patted Shanks’s hand with your own, “Thank you Mr. Shanks, sir.” You muttered awkwardly, unsure what to call the emperor.

“Just call me Shanks, sweet cheeks.” He chirped, clapping your shoulder one more time before letting you return to Luffy’s side. Shanks’s eyes softened when he saw Luffy fiddling with the string of his hat at his neck. “Hey, kid.” He called, stepping closer to be in front of Luffy. “Keep it.”

Luffy’s eyes shot wide, “But you said-!”

“Are you done yet?” Shanks chided, letting out a satisfied hum when Luffy shook his head, “Then it has more adventures to see, besides,” Shanks smirked, “What’s a king without his crown?” Shanks’s heart swelled as it fully set in, this hat has seen both Kings, and he had been there to witness them both. And as he saw Luffy wrap back around you, smiling at how happy and in love you were, he couldn’t help but feel a swell of pride.

Six years had passed and you two were content together.

“Get back here, you little shits!” you cackled, chasing three little pairs of feet across the deck of the Thousand Sunny, dodging past a few of your crewmates as you went. When you caught up with them, you swept all three of them up in your arms, setting the oldest on your shoulders and holding the other two on your hips. “River, Ruby, Rocky, you guys need to chill out!” You chastised, walking them over to where your husband was talking with Usopp and Nami about navigation plans and inventory.

You came up beside him, setting your kids down and pecking Luffy on the cheek. “Hey, baby.” You muttered, wrapping your arms around his middle, smiling as he set his arm over your shoulders. “You having a good day?”

Luffy chuckled and shrugged, “Better now that you’re here.” He said.

You smirked, looking up at your husband, “Guess what?” Luffy hummed, encouraging you to go on, both of you ignoring the rest of the world for a moment, “Portgas was wrong.” You sing songed.

Luffy’s brows knit together, and he squinted at you, confused, “What do you mean?”

“Start coming up with baby names, Luffy. We gotta get creative this time.” You teased.

Luffy’s face lit up, “Really?” he threw his head back and cackled before picking you up and twirling you in his arms. “We’re having another kid!” He exclaimed, a few of your crewmates hearing and giving scattered whoop’s, but poor Zoro groaned.

“Another one?” he muttered, dreading the antics of another one of Luffy’s offspring. He turned to Robin who was sat next to him on the lawn deck, “Throw me overboard.” He droned. She just laughed and waved him off, taking a sip of her tea.

“You love it.” She teased, setting the teacup back on its saucer, “You adore those little kids.”

Zoro glowered, “I love my sanity more.”

You and Luffy stood at the helm of the ship, “I love you,” you muttered, drawing him into a soft kiss.

“I love you too.” He mumbled as he pulled away. “How’s Raven if it’s a girl?”

“Not bad,” you nodded, “Reminds me of Robin.” Luffy chuckled, wrapping you in his arms around the shoulders, kissing the top of your head.

GoldenASL where Ace dies, but is resuscitated and pieced back together by law and left with Marco. Ace losing his fruit because he died and everyone thinks he's dead. Mihawk coming back from the war having failed two of his children and not knowing where the third is to Zoro and Perona. He hides his grief well but Zoro keeps asking why he betrayed the government and Mihawk always hits hits him harder after that.

Law not telling Luffy what he's done and leaving him with Rayleigh so that Ace's recovery is easier to handle. Luffy screaming and crying and not being able to get a hold of his family so he's alone. Even with Rayleigh he's alone and he wasn't able to save anyone.

Sanji sobbing and heaving bile to the point the Okama is concerned and stop chasing him. Sanji refusing to eat from his grief and his failure to make it to his family he doesn't know what to do. Sanji also unable to call his family and has to live with this grief of losing his second family.

Ace waking up to Marco sleeping next to him with his fire healing Ace. His body is full of pins and needles and he no longer has his fruit. He doesn't have his fire and vows to find it and teach and screams as he recovers. Marco explains why everyone thinks he's dead and hAce understands it but his brothers and dad, their pain that he's the cause of breaks him.

Ace, Sabo, and Luffy converge in Dressrosa. Luffy doesn't know it's Ace who's matching him so well in the colosseum and Luffy finds Sabo is alive. Ace has a back up, he has White Beard's fruit if he doesn't get his back but fuck that, that fruit is his and it's calling to him. Sabo loses and screams in pain as Ace eats it immediately and sets himself on fire and burns his disguise off to shock the world and Sabo who is screaming louder. Ace grabs him and flies out and grabs his bag along the way while laughing that the world now has to deal with Fire Fist being alive and back. He gives Sabo the tremor-tremor fruit and smiles and apologizes for everything, mostly hiding him living and getting his fruit back.

They find Luffy sans half his crew after the battle. Everyone is shocked and Law is like "good to see you're back to normal" and Ace bows to thank him. Ace then explains he's there to join the Strawhat crew and see them all and it's weird that half the crew is gone and Law tells him what happened and Ace is like 'i should probably tell Dad I'm alive' and everyone is like 'both your dads are dead? And have been?' like even Law is confused and then the bounties come out.

Mihawk on Kuraigana reeling because okay Luffy's bounty makes sense, why does Sanji's say only alive?, ACE?????? The man is reeling and looking for the denden number for the Sunny he got from Zoro and Perona is watching him show emotion for seemingly the first time as no one answers the Sunny's snail. Mihawk is trying to figure out what to do and then the next set of bounties come out and there's no Ace but Sanji's surname is Vinsmoke? As in the warmongering kingdom obsessed with genetic modification? It explains a lot but fucking hell. Also why is no one answering the damn snail?!

Whenever they all meet up again on Karai Bari, Sabo, the Strawhats, Croc, and Buggy watch Mihawk rip Ace, Luffy and Sanji to him and demand WHAT THE FUCK is going on. Ace especially because he died, in front of them! Ace is explaining what Law told Marco who told him and he got his fruit back in Dressrosa. Mihawk looks to Sanji for his explanation and Sanji is like 'this has to explain so much' and Mihawk agrees it does but what the fuck. Luffy, feeling left out, is like 'Hey Dad watch this!' and does his gear 5 form and Mihawk groans and pinches the bridge of his nose. Ace tells him that it's his fault for adopting them.

Sabo and the Strawhats lose it. Even Robin is caught off guard by them naming Mihawk as their father and everyone is trying to wrap their minds around that. Luffy is excitedly tell Mihawk about how he crashed Sanji's wedding to Big Mom's daughter and how is heart stopped fighting Kaido and he is climbing Mihawk who is doing his best to support his youngest child as he tells him everything and Ace is also pitching in about how it was good to go back to Wano. Mihawk thinks he's going to have a heart attack because Sabo is also alive and Zoro is talking about Sanji asking him to kill him and fire legs and flying.

"Okay, maybe we should stop before he has a heart attack?" Sanji suggests.

"Okay, but he had us three on an island alone with him for years because we all thought Sabo died." Ace points out.

"But I'm not!" Sabo yells. "You went to Kuraigana over me?!"

"Yeah, it was really fun! I became the leader of the humandrills!" Luffy proclaims proudly. "Dad, your heart is really fast are you okay?"

"Why did none of you call me? I'm dealing with two people I thought were dead suddenly not being dead, Sabo is the Chief of Staff for the revolutionary army, Sanji was a Vinsmoke, and you are a god." Mihawk says with exasperation. "I'm not okay, to answer the question."

"We were really busy, sorry." Sanji answers.

"Clearly." Mihawk sighs as Luffy laughs and wraps around Mihawk and lets his dad hold him.

I know there are Marineford fix it fics out there, and with Gear 5 ofc they exist.

But I just can't stop thinking about Nika activating early and yes, Ace gets saved, but the consequences. The absolute horror show that would be witnessed.

Luffy managing to push Ace aside, getting hit in the chest by Akainu's fist instead. And dying. He has to die, and he does because he can't survive that. But the situation, the context - he died to save his brother, to free him. He died in the largest act of recent liberation, and how could Nika not come forth for that? Things were just getting fun, Luffy had freed Ace and they were running and fighting and were so close to freedom.

So now it's Ace holding Luffy in his arms, seeing the hole in his chest and his life gone. And there's the long moments of shock and then denial and then rage.

But then there, in the open cavity of his baby brother's chest, gaped and visible for him to see, horrifically and wonderfully, is Luffy's heart, in tact and beating. And not just a slow, small beat. But erratic and loud. Wild beats, not like a war drum, but the drums of a celebration, thumping louder like there's a rhythm no one else hears but Luffy. Luffy who's dead, but whose heart still pounds. Powerful movements that make his body lurch up and down, up and down.

And Ace must think he's finally fucking snapped, because there's unthinkable colors shining in his brother's chest - an open, bleeding, viscera spewing chest - but the rest of him is draining to white, pure white, cloud white, bright white from his soft curls to his feet that are under him. And everyone witnesses this, stockstill and horrified as the dead, not dead now, maybe still dead, boy literally bounces to his feet. Or maybe it's the ground that bounces under him. No, it's both.

Luffy is bouncing back and forth and the ground ripples around him, sends him back onto his feet where he sways this way and that, a puppet with his strings broke, a body unused to being so light, a life pushed to the edge and over death and around again, coming back. But did he? Did he come back to life? Ace wants to think so, but when Luffy grins wide, too wide, with too many teeth, and his laughter grows, a laugh that's just like Luffy except not - Ace isn't sure. But he wants to be.

Except that hole in Luffy's chest is still there. But he's laughing, as though his own death was the funniest joke he's ever told.

And it is Luffy, but also Nika, because Luffy wasn't ready yet, he would be off. He would be wrong. And when Ace calls his name, the pink, no red, no pink, eyes that look at him don't see him at all. Don't recognize him, or maybe he's trying to, but Luffy-Nika just laughs, another funny thing, and Ace doesn't know if this is better or not. His brother not his brother anymore, alive but not, Luffy but not, a twisted mirror, a bright reflection.

And yeah, okay, the brief fight would be also terrifying, I think. Because there's a lot of people, and Nika-Luffy wouldn't recognize who's who, except those who attack him. Except it's a big ol game to him. He does the wackiest, physics defying shit that makes Admirals want him fuckin dead. Pulls the ground up like a wave, the buildings like blankets, bodies twist in his grasp like rope, the sky something to climb, something to bring down. Because loony toons shit like this, even in OP world is fuckin insane.

And now it's Ace's turn to get his brother outta there. To get him to freedom and escape and maybe get some help, because Luffy is alive but maybe not or maybe not for long. And its sickening to see Luffy connect his insides together again, with his bare hands, to blow into his thumb and see those missing organs and tissue and bones and spine pop up into place like they were just deflated, stretch his skin over to stick together for the time being. And when he sags against Ace's arms, white draining from him tired and sleepy and safe with whoever this man is, Ace is fuckin mess of emotions.

And then Law still comes, ofc. Someone has to properly stitch Luffy together, and be going wtf wtf wtf the entire time he's in surgery and all of Luffy's insides are there. And anyway, Luffy won't remember jackshit about any of it, but the absolute mess of it all is still there.

Thinking again about my "Zunesha accidentally kidnaps the ASL trio" idea, and I feel like the point in which Zunesha would feel "called" would be if Ace and Sabo were just the slightest bit slower in rescuing Luffy from Porchemy, leading to an early Gear 5 Awakening--because Luffy at this point already associates pirates with freedom, and just overheard Ace and Sabo discussing how the money was going to buy them a pirate ship. So freedom would be on his mind.

The other possibility is if things started going even more south during the escape from the Grey Terminal fire. Like, if Dadan's bandits were slower showing up, and Luffy saw Ace get hurt badly. Which might actually work better than the above example, because in this instance Luffy would be trying to actively fight for freedom, whereas in the above instance he technically wouldn't have had to do anything other than what he was already doing, since the silence itself was protection. And on top of that, he would have just had the experience of Sabo trading his freedom and happiness for the sake of his brothers, so it would have been more on his mind.

(Which kind of makes me think he actually did need those triggers in canon--that refusal to let yet another one of his friend's and loved ones' freedom and happiness be taken away after already having witnessed it with his brothers, even though he did get Sabo back--in addition to his heart stopping like in the Kaido fight. One or the other probably wouldn't have been enough)

But if the fire was the cause of it, then that also offers its own problems as to how to get Sabo onto Zunesha and not get blown out of the water.

...Though I suppose that could easily be explained as Zunesha himself throwing a wrench in things simply by moving around and showing up. Because I kind of doubt the Celestial Dragons' ship would have been able to even make it to Dawn if he was walking around, likely causing mass panic as he did so. So Sabo would either also be delayed, or just make Zunesha his first stop/accidentally run into his leg and then have to be fished out of the water by the minks. And then Ace and Luffy would be happily surprised to meet up with him again--never once thinking he was actually dead, because while they would have gotten the letter they would not have gotten the accompanying news about his ship getting blown up--when they were exploring and then get so caught up in catching up with each other that they wouldn't notice until it was too late that Zunesha had moved on and they were pretty much trapped.

Especially if Sabo did end up accidentally crashing his boat into Zunesha's leg.

As I said, those aren't all the designs I wanna make, that's just where I had to put a cut off cause One Piece has infinite numbers of pets and zoans and characters which just kinda look like one animal and such. So, I'm gonna list all the characters below and whether I plan to do them and why or why not so if you were hoping your blorbo would be in this series and they aren't yet, you can see if I plan to do them. If your love is not on this list, please feel free to reply or tag and let me know who and what. There's so many of these and I just keep stumbling upon them (my ass just entirely forgot about Yokozuna till, like, 2 weeks ago) so I'm sure I missed some ones I'd love to make. It's a long ass list though so it's under the read more link. Feel free to control F your character so you don't have to read the whole thing.

Doflamingo - I know he's very popular and no hate to anyone who likes him but I don't want that man in my house so he's not gonna be.

Gecko Moria - I don't think I can do his head in this style and have it work, I'm sorry. And he's not Gecko Moria without his weird shape.

Any equine character - I have not figured out the hooves nor the face and maybe I will but it's still a no for now. Cavendish, Stronger, Kaku, none of em yet.

The japanese style dragon zoans - It's a really complicated design which would be really hard so I don't really wanna do it.

All the other ancient/artificial zoan Beast Pirates - 1. I haven't hit Wano and barely know them and 2. trying to make, like, ten dinosaur designs which can all be differentiated in this really simple style sounds like hell and I like Drake best so he gets dino-priority. Kings is at least a very visually different dino and if I make him I can have him, Law, Ace, and Robin have a "the government wants us dead for nothing but having survived their horrible acts of violence" tea party, which I want and thus am willing to work for, so Drake and King are my dinos.

Surume - I haven't figured out how to do an octopus but I promise you, I'm trying to think of it

Robson, Hakowan - I don't wanna do Wapol, I'm so sorry for the fans I'm sure exist somewhere.

Nyashi - I haven't gotten to whole cake and thus have no real positive Vinsmoke opinions, sorry. And I'm not putting Sanji in a Vinsmoke onesie, I wouldn't disrespect him like that.

Funkfreed - Spandam is nowhere near my top but I'm somewhat willing to bend if there's a burning fanbase which there seems to be somewhere and maybe they'll find this post and come for me. Mostly cause one of my friends likes him.

That’s my list. I know there are some characters who are associated with animals but don’t have the other form, pet, or any visual motif, like Zoro with Tigers but I tried to stick with ones which were crewmates, pets, zoans, or visual motifs. That being said, Sabo with his dragon themed attacks and Koala with her name are on my list so I’m hardly firm on that rule.

Favorite Character: Kenjaku, Yuuji, Yuki, Choso, Geto

Favorite arc/episode/scene: Different answers for all of these lol. Favorite arc would probably he a tie between Hidden Inventory/Shibuya (I think if I reread Culling Games though it could potentially overtake Shibuya, despite it's flaws). Favorite episode would be the Choso vs. Yuuji fight (ep 13 or 14 season 2?) And also episode 6 of season 2, Premature Death. Favorite scene is is probably a tie between the "I'm You" scene with Yuuji and Mahito and also Mai's death :'(

Character I think is underrated: Hmmm I think Hakari. I think this is the same answer I gave before but I don't think he gets enough love :( Just such a fun character, never disappointed when he gets screentime, he has such a cool CT and also mindset and I'm hoping we get to see more of his fight with Uraume!

Character I think is overrated: Hmm it really just has to be Gojo doesn't it lmao. And I say this where he's still in my top ten characters in the series and used to be in top five, but his popularity is so so so much that you also get terrible interpretations of this character ALL the time and it's very grating. I'm very sad he died (I cried when I read the leaks lmao) but my eye does twitch a lil when I see Gojo revival theories after like 6-7 months for him when the narrative keeps reaffirming he's dead.

Fave ship/Pairing: Threeway tie between Satosugu, Nobamaki, and Chosoyuki. Honorable mention to my rarepair Takaken.

Something I love about the series: I think Yuuji really is the heart of the series and he's such an engaging and complex protagonist. I think the themes around death and purpose in life and death are explored in such an interesting way with him where he's such a kid but has to grow up so quickly in the face of such overwhelming tragedy in his life, knowing that for a lot of the stuff that happens, it's because he's alive and acted as the vessel to Sukuna. Any and all complaints of JJK never involve him and any scene he's in, it's always when the focus is away from him that a few issues arise for me. Also as a sidenote, big fan of the lore when we do get crumbs of it lol.

One Piece

Favorite Character: For strawhats probably a three-way tie between Zoro, Sanji and Robin. Also Luffy. For non Strawhats probably Corazon and Law, Pudding, Dragon, Vivi, and Crocodile.

Favorite arc/episode/scene: This is so difficult with this series lmao. Favorite arc still has to be Water 7 (and if I can wrap Enies Lobby in there too I would). Favorite episode would probably be Episode 1015, that shit was movie quality lmao. Favorite scene...so many to choose from omg. Right now my gut says the moment Sanji came back to the crew in WCI, or maybe Corazon and Law's last moments, or maybe the Alabasta goodbye, or maybe Robin's backstory, or maybe Nothing Happened, or maybe Gear 5-I could go on lmao.

Character I think is underrated: People need to start RESPECTING Pudding omg. She's just a girl in this world, and she's fucked up, but her arc in WCI was so so good and I just see people call her a bitch (which, YEAH, that's the point genius). Obviously I don't like that she hurt Sanji, but she grows from that and changes and the why is very clear after getting her backstory.

Character I think is overrated: Controversial Opinion but Garp. Don't get me wrong I think he's a very well written character and he's interesting and needed in the story, but he has such a large fanbase that go "Golly he's such a victim of the system :(." ...You mean the system HE'S voluntarily upholding???? He's so terrible to Luffy but ESPECIALLY Ace, and Koby might be his student but Koby is already twice the man Garp is lmao. I feel no sympathy for this man sorry.

Favorite ship: Frobin and Zosan, honorable mention to Namivivi as well. Frobin makes the absolute most sense in this world and Zosan I find to be a very fun exploration of both characters, even if it makes a lil less sense sometimes.

Something I love about the series: So I'm never going to claim One Piece is perfect, I have my issues with it. But it is undeniable that there is such love and care and joy injected into this series, while also balancing some really dark/realistic themes and concepts. Such incredibly strong character writing and worldbuilding, but most importantly Oda threads his themes through EVERYTHING in such an engaging way. I can talk about this series for hours upon hours I love it SO much.

Haikyuu!! (Forgive me this is the one I've watched the least recently plus I'm anime only lol)

Favorite character: I actually haven't talked about him much but probably Sugawara! Also Oikawa, Hinata, Bokuto, and Tsukishima are some of my faves as well

Favorite arc/episode/scene: Ooh maybe The Spring High Preliminary arc? I'm very excited for the movie though and I've heard great things about that arc as well. And not really an arc but I really really enjoy anytime they're training together, some of my favorite moments from the show even though they are less hype lmao.

Character I think is underrated: Sugawara >:( I just get him like no other and also kind of related with him being the second best setter on a team anskslxlfl

Character I think is overrated: Hmm don't feel too strongly about any character being overrated, maaaaybe Kageyama? I know most people would say Oikawa lmao but I like him he's the kinda pathetic man I like <3

Fave ship: Bokuaka!! Kind of elaborated before but yeah I just think they have a very sweet dynamic where they compensate for the other's quirks very well. Also love Hinata/Kageyama ofc, and also IwaOi

Something I love about the series: I think this is such a strong start point for people getting into anime or sports anime, idk if it's necessarily doing anything revolutionary but it just does everything right you know? Good feel good show and I do also particularly appreciate the volleyball aspect as that is my favorite sport lmao.

Favorite Moment- It's new, but when Luffy goes into Gear 5 for the first time and the following fight scene with Kaido!

Favorite Devil Fruit- If I had to pick one for myself it would be Buggy's Bara-Bara no Mi, so I could get a lot more done around the house. But my favorite would have to be Monet's Yuki-Yuki no Mi!

Favorite Villain- I would have to say Doflamingo- he's so funny and is such a well written character

Favorite What If Scenario- If I had to pick one, for my own selfish reasons, it's that Ace survives, but only barely, and the Whitebeard Pirates still disband, on order of Marco, and Luffy still thinks that Ace is dead, until after the time skip, when Ace shows up after saving the ship from a marine attack before leaving for Fishman Island, asking if they had room for one more person on the crew. Once again- this is my own selfish desire for a what-if scenario.

One Piece Theory - End of Act III: The Tragedy

Been a while since I’ve done a theory vid but this one bubbled under the surface the more I thought about it when watching chapter review videos

Spoilers for One Piece up to Chapter 1002

So as of current, Chapter 1002 depicts the five Supernova fighting Kaido and Big Mom. It may look decent because the Supernova have their hits in, but nobody is attacking Big Mom - which has already hurt them dearly - and Kaido is kinda fighting with one arm tied behind his back, until Onigashima stops floating in the air by Kaido’s fire clouds they will never have his full attention.

What looms over the audience is that traditional kabuki follows a 5-Act Structure, and Act 3 usually ends with a great Tragedy before the Act 4 Climax, there’s also Hawkins’ prediction that someone will likely die. This allows fans to believe that the Supernovas vs Yonko rumble is doomed for failure. and this may be partly the case - but not the whole story.

The Battle of Attrition Typically, fights against strong adversaries last days. The Akazaya fought Kaido’s forces for Days, Ace for Jimbei for Days, Aokiji fought Akainu for Days, Roger and Whitebeard fought for Days. So unless you have extremely overwhelming power like Marineford did against an old and sickly Whitebeard, you are gonna be fighting strong opponents for a long long time. And the Supernovas don’t have that time. This is why the Yonko have such confidence right now, even though the Supernova can hurt Kaido, they are still confident that they cannot outlast their endurance. And 1002 does prove that correct, for Zoro to land a strong hit he’ll have to exhaust himself with Enma and the remaining supernova were unable to use their haki well enough to dodge the Yonko’s attacks. This will also be worse on Luffy because his current state is only a temporary boost. Gear Fourth may soon run out. And then Luffy is a sitting duck.

The Sacrificial Play: Overview My theory right now is that Gear Fourth will be running out soon, maybe even next chapter where Luffy is the only one still gunning at Kaido. I also think that using Ryou in Gear Fourth may cause the timer of his state to fade quicker, since he’s using more Haki to enhance his attacks - thus why he used Red Roc in Gear Third. Luffy has already used Gear Fourth on a Number as well, so there is reason to believe that Gear Fourth is nearing the end of its timer. So what happens to Luffy when he cannot use Haki for 10 minutes? The Yonko will probably toy with him a bit more, not fully wasting him as of yet because they want to make an example of him. I expect this because we’ve seen this before in Luffy’s fights, against stronger opponents he tends to have a ‘time out’ between fighting; against Katakuri, Doflamingo, Arlong, Crocodile, Lucci and Moria there hit a point where Luffy was drawn away from the battle or the enemy distracted by another opponent so he could recover and return to the fight, this was even done in Marineford. The question that falls now is who will give Luffy this respite? So far I can see 3 options, all of which are self sacrifice. The Sacrificial Play: Kid

Luffy’s prison buddy adventure with Kid has often been one-sided. Kid acknowledges Luffy but refuses to work with him. After all, Luffy is his rival, in all manner of sense he is the closest opposition he has to their dreams and yet they are also quite similar. 

There’s also the matter that Kid may not be as immune to Luffy’s whims. We all remember that face he pulled in Udon, staring down Luffy in a begrudging nature, there can be a few reasons why Kid may decide to take Luffy from the fight and perhaps throw him into the hole in the Dome’s skull.

If he does, Kid will be able to shrug it off as either ‘You’re getting in my way Straw Hat’ - given his desire to take Kaido’s head for himself and the rivalry of the three captains, or stating it as repayment for saving him and Killer from drowning at Udon. Of the three this is my least likely one. Not that it cannot happen, it would be pretty cool, but I feel as though the next two will have more emotional responses towards it.

The Sacrificial Play: Zoro

It wouldn’t be the first time that someone of immense strength went to kill Luffy and Zoro came in like a bullet. Zoro could very well kick Luffy down the dome in order to sacrifice himself for his captain again - knowing better than the other Supernova the limitations of Luffy’s Gear Fourth and that the healer Marco is waiting below.

This would definitely give Luffy more motivation to get back into the fight, and perhaps time for Zoro to stand out alone in a fight against two Yonko using Enma - a weapon that certainly has both Yonko worried - as far as he can manage it.

Zoro is highly likely and it’d definitely lead to some heart-in-mouth reactions from fans, but we don’t expect a death flag on Zoro here, this isn’t the same as Thriller Bark and he’s literally just got a new sword. If anything it’d be a valiant sacrifice but not one where people may worry what happens when Luffy returns to the top of the dome.

The Sacrificial Play: Law

For my money, Law is the person who will move Luffy - and Zoro - away from the fight to save them. In past chapters he’s stubbornly trying to deny that he has any loyalties to the Straw Hats and his loyalty has been questioned throughout Wano’s acts. We are constantly told that ‘Pirate Alliances often end in betrayal’ which would make this a difference of the norm, he could also be the one Hawkins is talking about since he knows for a fact that Law is on the loose.

In Marineford, Law saved Luffy and while that did mean that Luffy was indebted to Law that debt may be repaid in Law’s eyes for help with his revenge plot against Doflamingo, that being said Law may still feel a responsibility to Luffy as a doctor, the Hippocratic Oath coming into play. There is also that Law does truly believe in Luffy’s strength and also knows Gear Fourth’s limits having seen it in Dressrosa. 

It would also not be the first time Law, Killer and Kid have worked together, they fought together to battle a Pacifista in Sabaody and at the very least lived to escape, so there might be confidence in forming a team like that to at least hold down the Yonko until Luffy comes back.

While fans believe Law to be safe because he found a new purpose, there is threat of him dying. He confronted Kaido without his crew, including the three he brought to Onigashima and he struggled to fight Doflamingo alone - if Hawkins confirms that the odds are for Law to Luffy that can add more urgency too. He is a side character beloved, strong but also has the same mental weaknesses as Ace did, it does feel like we are building for Law to at least bet his life on Luffy and Zoro, Shambles-ing both to where he put the Akazaya (which could be the same place Yamato is to bring him back into the raid) leading to another tower climb where Luffy and Zoro will have to cross King, Queen and reconvene with the remaining crewmates, Marco, Tama, Drake, maybe Hawkins and Apoo, and possibly Carrot and Wanda, to return to the fight where they’ll find a near-dead Law, Killer and Kid - which in turn will lead to a larger party including the entire crew fighting the Yonko for the climactic stage of the arc.
