I want to add: yes, the fact that the scene that makes us all worried was filmed so publicly is still the strongest argument for a fake out.

They knew what they were doing shooting a scene like that right there on the street for everyone to see and for everyone with a phone to film. This was done on purpose.

Sure, maybe they accepted the huge spoiler for promotion reasons. But that so many fans don’t even entertain the idea that this less than subtle approach could be part of a misdirect is odd.

Born Again Trailer and Foggy

Under the cut, I will be addressing rumors, leaks and (potential) spoilers for Daredevil: Born Again.

I have been doom-posting about Foggy’s fate in DDBA as much as the next person. If he dies, I will curse everyone involved. delete my NMCU based fics and art and demand nobody talk to me about the MCU ever again.

But for now? The trailer actually gave me hope. And I wonder why so few fans seem to see this? I wasn’t the only one to notice, of course, but the pessimistic posts didn’t cease and I see few who talk about the scene in question.

So, I will talk about why I think Foggy lives/has a fake death after all. Bear with me.

Let’s start with the scene itself. (The screen in the trailer captures more, but everything relevant is visible in my gif)

First: the stretcher. I think the person on it, that’s Foggy. 

Yes, it’s far away and zooming in you can’t make out a face. But hair and clothes match, in my opinion. I know an Elden Henson superfan and she is also convinced it’s Elden as Foggy. Looking closely, I think you can see the pattern of his scarf.

The head piece of the stretcher is lifted. For a dead body it would be flat and he most likely would be covered with a sheet. Or they would have put him in a body bag.

But I admit, it’s hard to see and the stretcher argument may not appeal to everyone. lol

So moving on to “Foggy’s Bloody Spot”. From the leaks we know roundabout where Foggy lies after getting shot

In the helmet fall scene, that should be here.��

For one, Foggy isn’t here. I don’t think ambulance crews would move dead bodies on a crime scene. They’d leave them in place for the police investigation. But since the ambulance isn’t done yet, the police haven’t even started investigating. Some say, the falling helmet hides Foggy’s body, but… why? Why would he be there?

For two, the stuff left behind. Yes, that is a lot of blood. But also what looks like wound dressing, bandages etc. Someone tried to stop the bleeding and it wasn’t a passerby with makeshift tools. This looks like medical supplies. So at least one paramedic thought Foggy was worth spending time and resources on. Which probably means he was alive when they arrived on scene and someone tended to him. At the site of a mass-shooting that has to mean something. You know, triage- wise. Paramedics have no time for dead people when many others are injured.

Of course, that doesn’t mean he survives. But I think it debunks the rumor that he died on scene while Matt was fighting Bullseye. Because then he would still be lying there. 

And if he makes into the ambulance or even the hospital, a fake out is possible. If he is close by, Matt couldn’t be fooled, but out of Matt’s hearing range, they can in theory do a switch.

But then what line was crossed??? 😱

Oh, of course, the “line”. Before the scene with the falling helmet is shown, Fisk asks Matt why he stopped being a vigilante and Matt answers “A line was crossed”. Many, many people interpreted this line crossing as Foggy being killed.

But to me that makes no sense at all. Criminals like Bullseye always cross lines. That’s Matt’s problem with them and the reason he does fight them, not a reason to stop fighting them. 

However, of himself Matt expects to stay on the right side of the line. So I think he isn’t a vigilante anymore because he did something that crossed a line. Especially since Fisk answers “It’s hard to come to terms with our violent nature. Hating the power it has over us.” That only makes sense when Matt’s “violent nature” is responsible for whatever he is referring to.

Which is why I don’t believe the line that was crossed is what Bullseye did to Foggy but what Matt did to Bullseye.

So yeah, new hope for Foggy.

Yeah i remember talking about L&T😂definitely a mixed bag, hope they get more serious in the next one. She-Hulk is a blast (hope they had given the vfx artists the time to finish her design though). As for future projects i couldnt be more excited. DP looks amazing, really think its going to change the MCU. I cant wait for DDBA. Still excited for CA4 but try not to advertise it bc of the zionist (🤮). Thunderbolts looks like it has potential. Agatha better deliever on the queer camp its been promising or else im gonna be pretty pissed tbh. I've actually be trying to stay away from rumours/leaks bc im seriously still traumatized from the Wandavision era with Mephisto😭 but from the little ive heard, things are looking up. Don't know if you've watched Loki s2 but you really should, it's phenomenal. The Marvels was really fun and so overhated. X-Men'97 though is the real deal. Truly of the greatest superhero series i've ever seen, if that's any indication of how the MCU X-Men are going to be like then we're in for the golden age of Marvel post Secret Wars

Yeah, if this was a crew member leaking without permission, they'd be fired and slammed with so much legal shit they would never recover.

I think the leaking is intentional, possibly as a way to build confidence in DDBA after having to publicly admit that it needed a complete overhaul.

To completely change course mid-production is kind of unheard of. So I think there was concern that the fans would lose faith. And since I'm sure they're hoping to build on the Netflix series fanbase, strategically releasing bts footage to ease concerns might be a good approach.

The whole Marvel approach to insane levels of secrecy and obsession over spoiler avoidance is old and tired. Seeing them relax even a bit is quite a relief. Seeing them relax just in time to get these lovely real-time peeks into the making of a personal fave? Is a gift. And I will take that gift.

Ughhh the torture! 😭 I typically stay away from paparazzi photos and any leaked photos on set of a show because I DO like to be surprised, but if there was confirmation that’s be lovely. However, I feel like they’re gonna keep that lid super tight for this show because it’s probably their most high profile show considering the demand and exotic have Daredevil back in general. OR Maybe they’ll show up in Echo as a cameo 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh man, so like... It was the last day of the con and the crowds were thinner, and after sneakily staring at Wilson's booth and waffling for a bit, I was convinced by my friends to go over and chat with him. You weren't allowed to record or take pics in that area, since it was where the convention guests were signing autographs, but nothing said you couldn't like... Be there if you weren't purchasing an autograph. We figured it was fine to visit with him, since there was no one in line, and if we were supposed to leave we'd probably just be told to buzz off.

So I popped over to say hi, and he asked my name, and then he shook my hand and introduced himself (and dudes I gotta say like, it was extremely dashing?? sir, you can't just do this to a girl??) and asked me what I had watched of his. When I said Daredevil, he told me that was a good choice, and then I kind of rambled at him about the show, lol - tbh I can't even quite remember what order the conversation went in anymore because I was trying so hard to be cool. XD

I know I mentioned that I was excited for DDBA but that the initial leaked script had made me so nervous because of them cutting out/killing off Foggy and Karen. Turns out, he hadn't heard about the script leak at all! There was a gal next to him, idk if she was con staff or if she worked with him, but she chimed in and we both kind of explained about the old script. He said that he felt like thanks to the rewrites, the show was on the right track now, so that was pretty reassuring. I told him the old script had felt so wrong to me because as great as Charlie is, he can't do Daredevil all on his own; the reason the original show was so good was how Matt interacted with his friends and foes - at which point Wilson said, "Foes especially, right?" hehe.

I told him that I got into the show in 2018 right before S3 aired, and how I'd loved his acting and was excited that it seemed like Bullseye would return for season 4... Only for the show to get canceled. To which his response was, "Trust me, nobody is more salty about that than me." XD Then I think he kinda joked about how we'd only had to wait five years to get that continuation, and I brought up Save Daredevil, and how after so long I really hadn't thought it would happen. He told me the fact that the show is back now was a real testament to the fans and their love for it. :)

We bantered a bit more about the release date - that it's slated for March 2025 so it's less than a year away, which still feels like too long, but also we've been waiting years at this point so a few months isn't so bad. And then we said our goodbyes and he shook my hand again and I managed not to squeal like a loon about it until like half an hour later, but I'm pretty sure I was grinning like an idiot for the entire conversation, lol
