With the scent of brimstone and rot in the air, Red Robin regrets his decision to forgo a full face mask in his latest costume redesign. His rebreather might be enough to make the air completely breathable, but the smells—and, God, the taste—still come through, even up on the rooftops.

“Come in, Red Robin. Requesting situation report.”

“Multiple fires have broken out across the city, and I’m not sure the people wandering the streets are even still… people.” 

“What makes you say that, Red?” 

Adjusting the zoom in his mask lenses, Red Robin focuses on a group of shambling figures in the street. Among them, a few notable features include several missing limbs, yellowed, rotting skin, and torn, bloody clothing. Some were clearly turned more recently, while others seem to have been decaying for a while.

Sighing, Red Robin replies, “Some of these injuries, they just aren’t survivable. I mean, the amount of blood loss alone, and without any signs of medical care…” He shakes his head. “It doesn’t help that they’re aggressive, violent. I’ve seen them tear stray cats to shreds, O. Even if paramedics were brought in, it wouldn’t be safe for them. They’d be completely overwhelmed—”

“Hold that thought, Red, I’m getting severe interference over comms.”

“Hmm, might be the fires.” A non-committal hum comes through the device in Red Robin’s ear. “The fire and smoke is causing some pretty heavy pollution, and on satellite comms, that’s no good.” 

“Affirmative. Didn’t realize it was that bad over there, I’ll send backup when I can. Do you have any other method of communication with you?”

Patting his pockets, the man on the rooftop sighs, “Just my Titans communicator. I can set it to the Watchtower channel, but it doesn’t have a direct line to you or the other Bats.” 

“Alright. Use your communicator to send regular updates. I think Flash is on Watch Duty tonight, so I’ll have him run interference between us. This might become a Justice League-level threat regardless, if things are as bad as you say they are.”

“Possibly, but it seems to be contained to just Raccoon City.” Fiddling with the buttons on his communicator, the man in the mask continues, “I’m doing a check in with the Watchtower now to confirm the link is secure. I’ll be going dark momentarily, hold please.”

“Red Robin, don’t you put me on hold—”

Turning off his comm unit, Red Robin pulls the Titans communicator out and flips the switch on the side, connecting it to the Watchtower server. Heh, haven’t needed to use this channel in a while. Shaking himself out of his thoughts, the vigilante activated the communicator.

“Come in, Watchtower. This is Red Robin, requesting mission overwatch.” 

A hiss of static, then, “Red Robin, this is Watchtower. Please specify, what overwatch do you need?” 

“I need you to run information between Oracle and I, as well as to log regular updates on my end. I’m in a sat-dead zone, so normal long-distance comms aren’t working.” A loud screech rings out, a dead-ringer for the noise the Batmobile makes when Batgirl forgets to brake in time. Someone is driving. Looking closer, Red Robin lets out a curse and pulls out his grapple. 

No, no one is driving, someone is crashing.

Okay this is a simple writing exercise. I’m trying my best to get into writing. :)

This is RE2 Leon we’re talking about. Man will act like a kicked puppy.

He’s clinging and kissing on you the entire time.

“Babe please pay attention to me.”

He isn’t very in the other person’s face about it.

I feel like he understands that he’s kinda overreacting.

But trust me if that fucker even looks at you weird-

He turns up the flirting.

He’s touching you all over making sure the other guy sees.

He’s mumbling “Mine” to you.

You actually don’t mind the attention he gives you when he’s like this.

Though after awhile of you not giving him attention he’ll tear up.

“Baby please. I’ve been a good boy.”

He knows you love to hear him beg and whimper.

You drag him away while telling him how much you love him.

He’ll get his proper attention in the bedroom that night.

彡Hi! I’m Skelle (they/them), and I’ve been writing and reading fanfiction since I was a kid. From me you can expect heavy ounces of angst should it ever be requested >:) (it’s my specialty hehe). Not all requests have to be story/fanfic related! I love having conversation with people in general! Some things to keep in mind when you ARE requesting something to me are some keywords you can use to help me visualize what it is you want, i.e. describing a plot scene/point that you’d love to see play out, or even making a little head cannon or scenario that I can get inspired by.

彡 One of my favorite things to write is angst, mostly with little to no comfort because pain is fun. I really enjoy going into depth with characters and exploring their motives and using that in my writing. I’ve been working hard at getting better with imagery and descriptions. Unless specified otherwise, I will primarily use the second person narration so that you as the reader can easily put yourselves in the story without labels. That being said, I’ll happily write using whatever terms are comfortable! Also feel free to request headcannons and little scenarios! I am also totally open to doing little sketches of scenes or what not!!

I occasionally watch anime — most recently it’s been JoJo’s Bizzare Adventures, other than that I haven’t really been into any anime since i got into Resident Evil

It’s been two years since the Raccoon City incident, two years since you’ve been working with a man named Leon S. Kennedy and now here you are. You two were assigned a mission to gather information  and if able put stop to whatever this mysterious company was doing. The man holding you at gun point was monologuing because of course he was. Biting your tongue you gave Leon a look, the man was biting back a smile.

“God do you ever shut up!”

“You bitch! You will listen to me.”

“I mean I’d love to really because I am sure it’s a banging tale but you see…we really should be going. I’d rather not be staying in a pile of ruble.” Holding up a small device the man didn’t get a chance to reply when your finger left the trigger. First was the loud explosion, you knew where it was coming from but he didn’t,  then the buildings started to shake. Grabbing Leon’s wrist you tugged him forward knocking that bastard a side.

“Run! Run!”

You missed your name being shouted, you ignored the gun going off though you felt the pain of the bullet tearing into you side. Your foot steps faltering though you continued to push yourself. It wasn’t until you were in a long hall way that you stopped running. Pressing your back to the wall you slowly lifted up your shirt to see blood oozing out the the bullet hole. “Shit.” You knew it didn’t hit anything vital but it did not mean you’d be fine.”

Trying to stem the bleeding Leon’s eyes went wide once he saw you. “Shit! Y/n.” Gripping his hair the man lent on front of you. Placing his hand over yours, you cried out from the pressure. “Okay…we’ll fix it okay.”

Blinking back tears you knew that you two wouldn’t have enough time. You couldn’t just let him stay here with you,  not with  the building going down and with your injury. You and Leon might have had a few scrapes a bumps but now you were shot. Blinking back some tears you closed you took a deep breath in grabbing his hand gently. “Leon..you need to go.”

“What?No! No! I’m not leaving you y/n.” Leon couldn’t believe you would say something like that. He could never leave you alone, leave you to die.

Feeling tears slide down your cheeks you gave him a small smile. “Leon…please.”Closing your eyes you hoped the man would come to his senses though biting back a cry you felt his arms wrap around your waist. Placing his hands under your legs he took a deep breath as he started to run. “I’m blaming you if we both die.”

“Don’t thank me yet.”

Closing your eyes you rested your head against his chest. “God I feel so tired.”

“Hey! Hey y/n! Keep your eyes open…y/n!”

You heard Leon’s voice get desperate, you heard the faint groans of the infected followed by Leon’s gun going off every now and then but after that…you heard nothing.

Leon never thought he could have ran that fast but when your life was on the line he felt like nothing else had mattered. He did get the chance to thank Claire for waiting for you both, at the moment the only thing he cared about was making sure you got medical attention. He knew it most not have taken long to get to the hospital  but to him it felt like hours. Your skin was so ashen and the blood. He was covered in your blood, he could feel his stomach churn at the thought. He wanted to go with you, he wanted to make sure they will take care of you.

So here he was in the waiting room nervously playing with the watch you’d had gotten him.

“Leon….Leon?”

Jerking his head up the man tried not to flinch from the concerned look Claire was giving him. He didn’t deserve any sympathy, not when you were fighting for your life. “What?”

“You should change…she’s going to be in surgery for a whi-.”

“No.”

“Leon…you’re covered in her blood.”

“I don’t care…I’m not leaving her…I’m not leaving until I see here and know she’s okay..”

Sighing Claire pinched the bridge of her nose though she dropped some clothes on his lap. “Figured you’d say that…so go change..please.”

Opening his mouth, he sighed then reluctantly stood up holding the clothes. “Fine…I’ll be back.”

“I know.”

Standing up Leon grabbed the clothes then slipped into the bathroom.Once he got out of his dirty clothes he sighed glancing in the mirror. Shaking his head he stepped walking back to his seat, glancing at Claire he then looked down at the ground.

“She’ll be okay Leon…y/n  is a fighter.”

“…I now.”

Closing his eyes Leon let himself fall asleep, he just felt so tired after everything. He didn’t know how long he was a sleep but when he finally did his whole body ached. “What’s going on?”

“She’s awake” Claire was smiling. “The surgery went really well I thi-.”

“What room?”

“Leon?!”

“Just tell me the room Claire.”

“264.”

“Thanks.” Giving the woman a grateful smile he took off running. Slipping into the room he nearly collapsed. “Y/n…thank god you’re okay.”

“Why wouldn’t I be?”

“You got shot…I should have been.”

Sighing you rolled your eyes though you patted the bed. “Can you sit down please be for the record…it’s not your fault.”

Shaking his head Leon moved close then sat down in the chair grasping your hand gently. “That scared the hell out of me.” Clenching his jaw he gave your hand a squeeze. “Y/n…I care about you…I lo-.”

Giving him a smile you gave his hand a small squeeze. “I know Leon..I feel the same.” Wincing you closed your eyes. “God I’m tired.”

Leaning over he brushed a strand of your hair away. “Get some sleep y/n…I’ll watch over you.” Placing a small kiss to your forehead he then sat back down. Watching your breathing even out he started to slowly relax, he’d stay by your side from here on out, he wasn’t going to let this happen again.

“I promise y/n.”

Quick little check-in as to where my updates are going from here since I’ve made some changes.

- First off, my upcoming series Figure 9 will be put on hold. The reason for this is mainly because I don’t have the time to write out something that in depth right now, so I’ll be writing smaller stuff until I can get there.

- The second thing I have to say is that I’ll probably be throwing some random stuff onto my AO3 soon (surprisingly I have not forgotten about it), mainly because I’m not super into DC right now and want to write for some other fandoms. If you’re curious, I’m really into DBH and RE at the moment so I may write about them for the time being.

The Youtuber Suzi, aka The Sphere Hunter, managed to get Nick Apostolides, Leon's RE2 remake VA, to join her to commentate on the game as she played.

These are some interesting titbits Nick shared about the filming process of RE2.

- Nick did the motion capture for the truck driver at the beginning of the game and pretended to eat a burger. He said quite a lot of the actors were zombies in the game too.

- While Nick has a stunt background, Capcom did not allow him to do dangerous stunts for fear of injurying him which would delay filming and production.

- The car explosion scene that occurs when Leon & Claire just enters the city was basically the stuntman being rammed by a mattress to simulate being thrown into the air and the stuntman will land on a safety mat after that.

- Some scenes were pre-animated and not mocapped. That means Leon's body was already present in the game but the face was blank and they recorded Nick's facial expressions. Some pre-animated scenes were Leon pulling Elliot through the bottom of the shutters and when Leon jumped down a mini elevator platform and found Ada in the sewers.

- Scenes were filmed out of order. Nick says for Leon and Ada's scenes, they could film the ending scene first and then film the scene where they meet each other.

- They filmed "a different script", went on hiatus for 8 months, then scraped the previous script and re-filmed everything. The original script had completely different scenarios on how the characters met.

- "Ada wait!" was never present in the script and Nick is happy about that as he feels certain lines belong to the VAs that say the lines. He is happy that line belongs to the late Paul Haddad.

- TJ Rotolo, who played Birkin, also did the mocap for all the G forms of Birkin.

- Nick says Leon in sleeves at the end of the game "is really hot". Lol!

- Nick says the RE4 remake is all just speculation so far and he would happily play Leon again, if he ever gets the call.

- For the scene between Leon and Claire through the fence/gate at the RPD, the director did instruct Nick and Stephanie to be a little flirty like "you have a small crush on a person and just casually bump into them".  

- Capcom did not specify where Leon comes from but Nick says "probably the suburbs".

- Nick's favourite scenes were when Leon and Ada meets Kendo and when Ada says goodbye to Leon.

- For the scene where G1 Birkin smashes Leon through the floor, the filming for the body and facial expressions were done separately. Because of the head camera Nick wore during filming, his head would be thrashing around while his body was being man-handled and that is not helpful for the animators.

So, they will first film him stationary and he has to imagine being thrown around and he does the grimacing and wincing for the facial capture. After that they motion capture his body being thrown around and the team splices these two images together.

The same thing is done for when Mr X grabs Leon by the throat in the parking garage. They first film the body where Nick was in a harness and he was indeed grabbed in the throat. Then after that they film his facial reaction.

- Nick casually comments "a sexy lady in a red dress, well trenchcoat currently" kicks the ladder down after the G1 Birkin fight. I assume this is purely speculative on his part and the fans part.

- Nick loves the interactions between Leon and Ada. He says Leon "still cares" no matter what Ada did despite being naive at the beginning and learning the truth at the end.

- The scene where the zombie dog attacks Leon in the parking garage was one of the casting scenes used for casting Ada.

- Nick feels Ada is a complex character and she "sobers up" a bit after the Kendo interaction.

- Nick said that after the last round of auditioning, he sent an email to the casting team and persuaded them to let Capcom and the director know that he's a huge RE fan and if he got the role, he'll give it his all and respect what they do to this re-imagination of Leon.

- Nick actually missed the first round of auditions due to scheduling conflicts and managed to persuade them to let him audition for the second round. Nick told them he understood the character, the universe of RE, and the relationships he has with the various characters.

- Ken Lally, Kendo's VA, mocapped Wesker's body in RE5 as DC Douglas was injured.

- Eliza, Sherry's VA, mocapped Emma, Kendo's daughter.

- The scene with Kendo, Emma, Ada, and Leon were one of the last scenes they filmed as Capcom wasn't sure how to handle Kendo's character but Nick said he's glad they got this scene down beautifully.

- All the vulgar language weren't scripted, the director asked the VAs to genuinely react to the scenario and told them to just naturally utter what they would really say if they were in that situation. Hence, you get a lot of "shits" and "fucks". 

- RE2 was shot in LA while RE3 was shot in Japan as they were done by different teams.

- Nick says if you deal enough damage to G2 Birkin in the sewers but don't use the giant crate, Leon will say something along the lines of "Bullets don't work on this guy, gotta think of something else" and Nick says he hasn't heard anyone play the game that way till Leon says that line.

- "I think I can fit it in my schedule" and "Yes ma'am" were improv-ed by Nick when Leon rescues Ada from the sewers. The director wanted the interactions to be organic and if a line doesn't work, they were open to the VAs to improv.

- Some of the dialogue in the older RE games sound funny and clunky because they were written by a Japanese person who spoke English while the remakes were written by an American scriptwriter so the words sound natural and smooth.

- Nick jokingly said Leon will walk through fire for Ada after the Aeon kiss. Candidly said the Aeon kiss is his first and last kiss in his life 'cos "Leon is so pure". Haha.

- The Aeon kiss had to be filmed twice. The first time both Nick and Jolene had their head cameras on so they can't really kiss and they kissed the air instead. The second time, they took off their head cameras and kissed for real. Capcom stitched both takes into the final scene.

- The VA is cast first, then face model is cast after as they want the facial structure between both people to be as similar as possible so it is easier to animate the facial expressions on the face model’s face.

- In the rehearsal, the director made Nick say "Tell me you love me" after each line in the final Aeon scene to help bring out the emotions and every time Nick said it, he would say it in different ways. The director was satisfied that he brought out the emotions he wanted for the scene and went for the final take. Nick said to keep that in mind as we watch the scene.

- Nick feels Leon's soul went down with Ada when she fell. Aww.

- Nick had a lot of fun filming the scene where he jumps on the train at the end and gave suggestions on how Leon could get on the train. During filming, it was a wooden train with pipes and everything. Nick said he wanted it to look like Leon was being dragged on the ground as he got on the train.

To make that happen, they wrapped really sticky material around the pipe Leon grabs and Nick had a rope tied on his waist. As Nick jumped on the train, a stunt coordinator would yank on the rope while Nick would also work against the yanking to give the "dragging on ground" effect as he made effort to climb on board the train.
